hello,
I was rewatching my little pony and friends the g1 series.
I started wondering, what's your favourite episode(s) of this series.
mine is crunch the rockdog, all the parts. Because Windwhistler plays a huge part in it and her most famous quote comes form it.
What about you?
What's your favourite? or do you prefer other generations?

Aside from the specials, The Golden Horseshoes. That episode dominated my childhood and was the reason Mimic was my most wanted pony as a child. I did end up getting her as an adult and cried. Everything about those episodes captured my imagination as a kid.

"Rescue at Midnight Castle" is my favourite G1 cartoon :) My favourite Friends ep.. hmmm.. either "The End of Flutter Valley" (though it feels unfair to say that, since it's pretty much a movie XD Can't really compare it to a normal-sized episode) or "Bright Lights". Oh, or "Somnambula".. and "Crunch the Rockdog" is pretty great.. and.. XDD I can't pick just one!
I haven't seen a lot of Tales, but "Battle of the Bands" is my favourite ep out of the ones I've seen :)

I have a top 3 for G1:
I wanna say the one where the big brother ponies appeared and there was a wizard that drained the girl ponies's life force is my top favorite. I forget the name, but I love the premise.
Return to (of?) Tambelon was nice, as well, with a great story. Also one of my favorites, but...eeeehhh....the songs were kinda not very good in some cases, and BRAY.
And Revolt of Paradise Estate. Now that was an interesting premise for everything coming to life in the house. And...d'aww the last few seconds of the ending were really sweet.

The episodes all run together for me (i need to buy and rewatch) but there are LOTS of bits and pieces I remember.
I remember the episode where Mimic was sick and disappearing?
And I remember when Paradise was trying to fly high up a mountain but couldnt because the air was too thin.
I used to love the episode with the princess ponies and that song they sung when they were arguing over who should be queen.
And who could forget that episode where the Rockstar Prince/Michael Jackson pony tried to steal the baby ponies' shadows.

It's so hard to pick a favourite. If we're not counting any of the movies, I'd have to go with The End of Flutter Valley, Quest of the Princess Ponies, The Ice Cream Wars, Pony Puppy, The Prince and the Ponies, Bright Lights, The Golden Horseshoes, Flight to Cloud Castle, and the Magic Coins as my top picks.

Somnambula, hands down. Rescue at Midnight Castle and the Golden Horseshoes are also fun, mostly to make fun of. The Sea Pony song is my favorite pony song.

Cannot remember the name of the episode but the one where all the unicorns disappeared was my favourate one. Everytime we rented a video i would pick that one.... you would think that after the twentieth time my parents would just buy the video for me would have being cheaper for them in the long ng run haha

I have a soft spot for Fugitive Flowers. It's a lot of fun, and it's the episode I remember best from my childhood.
I really like The Glass Princess too, as long as no one's mentioned it...

Hard to pick my favorite one X.x I do enjoy The Great Rainbow Caper, as anyone could probably guess by my signature and such ^.~
I love to sing all the songs, but one episode that I never got to be nostalgic over is Ice Cream Wars T.T I never knew it existed until the early 2000's D=
My favorite song to sing from MLP Tales is the one from Shop Talk =D the first episodes I watched from that was Bon Bon's diary and the one with Starlight pining over Ace.
I loved the darkness of Return of Tambelon.
I badly want to know what songs where in the second episode of Return of Tambelon and in the second episode of the Flight of Cloud Castle T.T Since I already know the Hurry song from Glass Princess. OH WHY DID I HAVE TO LOSE THAT TAPE?!?!?!? T.T

I love the Glass Princess. I never get tired of the pony wash scene.
I think Rescue at Midnight castle and Escape from Catrina are my top 2 favorites

My Top 4 (in no particular order):
Baby, It's Cold Outside- because it starred Galaxy
Somnambula- because it starred the Big Brothers
Crunch the Rockdog- I found those little rocks that traveled with Crunch to be so creepy as a kid
The Queen of the Princess Ponies- I loved the storyline

My favourites are Rescue at Midnight Castle, Escape From Catrina, and The Return of Tambelon!

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the series and never have been, and though I've seen all of the episodes now, most of them are in the like to not too bothered category. I was a comic girl, not an animation girl where MLP was concerned.
So I've gone on nostalgia and only counted the four episodes I had as a child on VHS - which were:
-Ice Cream Wars
-Revolt of P.E
-Sweet Stuff and the Treasure Hunt
-Wouldbe Dragon-Slayer
Of these four my least favourite is the last one. Even though as I type this I can hear that annoying song about being a knight in my head.
Ice Cream Wars amuses the heck out of me but it's not my favourite.
Of the other two, I like both a lot but I hate the fact that Sweetie is called Sweet Stuff throughout and also hated that fact as a kid too. As a kid who was hot on absolute detail I hated that she had the 'wrong' name (I didn't know about US names then).
So the favourite is Revolt of P.E. I think it's where my love of Paradise came from, but I love pretty much everything about it. The crazy furniture. The illogical way in which things happen (like Baby Cuddles going into one building and coming out in the other), and the weird singing furniture regretting the parting of ponies.
So I'm going with that one.
Of the ones I didn't grow up with, I have fond thoughts for Rescue at Midnight Castle, Tambelon, Somnambula (except the names again ruin it) and the Magic Horseshoes.
I always find it amusing that it's North Star who rings the bell. It's beautiful irony :D.

OH yeah I also love Spike's Search! I love the song Spike and Weston sings XD which I'm probably the only one =P I LOVE to sing that silly song and try to sound like Spike and Weston... Which sometimes when I get a commissioned art work piece, I get my Trio to be a quartet with Weston =D Or just the three boys having fun together!

My favorite part in Sweet Stuff and the Treasure Hunt is when the Bushwoolies tell her why they are up in the tree. How Truly was so upset with them and told them to go 'fly a kite'! XD
With Revolt of P.E, almost every time I hear someone mention painting something or a touch of color, the first song pops into my head. OOOOHHHH and I LOVE when Paradise does the 'BOOM BOOM BOOM' stuff at the beginning! and goes 'BOOM-AH', I get so tickled!

I one day plan to get Stormer and Arcee, so they can hang out with my Paradise. :)
