Title: Warning - Shipping Drink n' Wet Bottles
Post by: Baby Sugarberry on March 20, 2012, 08:45:59 AM
Make sure your seller packs them carefully, or better yet uses a box.
This is how mine arrived yesterday, in a padded envelope.

Thankfully they were understanding, and I got a full refund for the item's price, but yeah. Pretty sad it got destroyed, because I very much wanted the accessory.

Small accessories in envelopes which look like letters = BIG NO!!!!

Having had a recent experience with something similar...its true the smaller the accessory the more a non collector will be tempted to add it to a standard envelope or letter and this will make the letter sorting machines go nom nom nom and eat/destroy your accessory.

Sorry this happened to you...at least your seller sounds reasonable...

Yikes! What did they do throw it on the ground and stomp on it? Stupid PO  :throw:

*counts my blessings* I guess I have been lucky when I have shipped one's that I have sold.  I have always used a padded envelope with no problems.

I wouldn't say it's a no... but it needs to be shipped package not letter.

after the experiences i've recently had with the post office (having mail ripped open and losing items, not having them returned after filling out forms..) i wrap everything, even regular letters in packing tape. i cover the WHOLE thing. mostly to give them crap about how they treated me for it. i was very upset with them for losing my items, i wasn't the one who packed them that way, and they still treated me like i was.
if you ship something, wrap it 50 times in packing tape, or put it in a box or mark it as a package. because they really don't care about what happens to your mail.

oh my goodness! :(  Stooopid PO! :throw:  I'm so sorry to hear that hun! I'm glad that your seller refunded you, but its still really disappointing to see an item ruined by those sorting machines
I'm gonna agree with what  Varkolak said - I always put a ton of tape all around the envelope or the box and completely seal it. I also pad out the envelope  (if I'm using one - it depends on how fragile the item is)  so that it has more protection and it gets sent as a small package, not as a letter  ;)   I do think that playset parts and some of the accessories which are hard plastic and hollow inside are better sent in a small light box to avoid the risk of damage though

I naively assumed that for almost 6$ shipping, the tiny accessories I had bought would at least be decently packed.  Nope.  Thrown in a thin bubble envelope and the flap not even taped down.

Suppose I should be happy the two hairpicks and mommy charms arrived unscathed.
