Time to start off the new year with some pony goals! What are you looking for? Your hopes, your dreams for 2019?
My goals this year are pretty simple.
MO Pearly Baby Glory
One nirvana or exclusive
One sea pony on my wish list
To make one custom/re-hair a month

Overall I need to find a display solution for all collections... And I'll see how ponies fit into that.
I want to let go of my minty Truly since I have my ratty childhood Truly.. it's so hard bc she's so nice!
I also might let go of another takara ;_; I dunno, we'll see...
And I want to keep looking at the flea market ❤️ the search will never end.

i'm going to try and get the G3s i had before i started officially collecting. not a big goal, 14 brushables (all common releases, except maybe one that might be a bit harder to find because it's a very specific version) and 2 ponyvilles. if i had the space i'd add the playsets to that too... maybe one day. definitely not in 2019 though!

Get a few more commonish G1 Adults, like Fizzy, Galaxy and Snuzzle.
Maybe 'complete' my G3 'collection', which is only a handful of ponies. Valenshy, Regular winged Skywishes, Original design Toola-Roola, and Anchors Away.
Actually get one or two G4 brushables before the toy line ends??
Get at least one Lucky Pony fakie. Expand my fakie collection in general.
As a tentative goal, own a HQG1C when one comes out that I absolutely need to have.

I'n going to get my ponies a nice display in my new apartment! I already have an idea of what it'll look like... I also have a few ponies on my wishlist and I'm going to get them and try not to worry about their prices. If I really want something and I know that'll make me happy, I should be able to get it and not be ashamed of using my own goddamn money :biggrin: I need stop worrying about that.

My big goal is to find and set up display solutions in my new digs, since I'm still in the process of moving.
Definitely want to get back to hunting G1s more seriously again now that I have the extra income.
I want to finish of my set of boys
Buy at least one Mountain Boy this year
Finish of my So Soft set.
Not huge goals but good ones for getting back into collecting, and seeing what kind of display and storage I can rig up for my existing ponies too

- Try and get at least SOME of the blind bags I'm missing - we didn't get the last few waves over here (we were stuck in Eternal Halloween Blind Bag Hell instead) so I'm really behind X_X
- try and sort out my displays, gah..
I guess that's about it. Oh, it'd be nice to get Capper and (hippogriff) Skystar, too, and the baby hippogriffs. Need to pick up the two G4 baby sea ponies I'm missing, too..

#1. My same old usual top resolution is not to make a New Year’s resolution. I do this every year and get the tradition of making and breaking over with instantly. No regrets or hard feelings.
Afterward…
2. I’ve done the trick that kids and minimalists and minimalist parents recommend on my collecting/hoarding self and tried boxing up most of my toys over two years. It worked pretty well and I’ve actually had more fun over the last year with the smaller herd able to be seen all the time… so I got to get my suddenly misfit toys listed over 2019 as I finally know what I want to keep.
3. Gah… the minimalist trick is going to be harder on my mostly unread library! I’m far from finished reading what I hoarded!
4. Get my own Pinterest account in order to better feed my fascination for fakies.
5. Wanna build the ponies a Castle/Barn style dollhouse that I can take apart when not in use, not to mention they needs a bus and a clown-car… all in good time-pipe down little herd! I will set you ponies up eventually…

I'm not sure I have goals as much as plans.
The first one was just achieved, which is selling off the remainder of my collection. (Shipping off today actually.) I now only own 4 ponies @_@
I plan to watch FiM through to the end. (And I do hope season 9 is, in fact, the end because I'm very ready for that chapter to be done.)
Mostly, my pony plans for the year are to lurk around here and EqD and see what the end of G4 brings and see if we get any more glimpses into G5.
It may sound boring but this is where I'm at with the hobby now.
I was ready to let go of my collection but I'm not ready to give up the show and community. I'm really happy with the few favorite ponies I decided to keep and am actually pretty excited about season 9 of FiM even if it is a little bittersweet.
I would love to attend the last bronycon but I have a move and another convention this year competing for my finances and time so it's not looking like I will be able to make that work at this time, but we'll see as it gets closer if I can pull it off. What an excellent last "hurrah" for G4 it will be. :hope:
To all of you working on displays and organization, I really hope you share the results here. Those are always so much fun to see. :happy:

And I'd like to do some more pony art. I redesigned my ponysona a while back so they have more of a folky vibe (still quite gothtastic but they suit my hippie leanings better now as well) but my style for drawing MLPs is just really badly under-developed.

Make more customs from my increasingly terrifying blind bag bait
hoard herd (don't worry, most of 'em are factory seconds).
Make more tiny things for those tiny customs.
Take photos and/or videos of those tiny things and tiny ponies.
Actually post those pics online.

My only goal is to try and get a decent condition My Pretty Pony. Something I hopefully don't have to dismantle to clean/repair, since I don't trust myself not to break something, but also not mint condition because I can't afford that. lol >_>;

1. Being home long enough for a spell to rehome my doubles, as the box is taking up space.
2. Being able to afford ponies again by getting a job after I finish my degree
3. Hoping that it will even be possible to a: afford ponies (due to crashed currency) or b: import them (due to potentially grounded planes) after March 29th if the UK govt doesn't get its head together and make some decisions.
Not a lot to ask...surely?
I don't have any specific outstanding wants - at least, I do, but they're all way out of my price range and mostly MOC items. I will never turn down a nice and appropriately priced backcard though :D

Pick up G3 licensing show Pinkie Pie ( if she pops up for a reasonable price)

2. Practice more customs/full body repaint
3. Complete 1982 FF ponies (Blossom & Minty)
4. Catch up/complete G4 brushables from wishlist & display shelving
5. Get some of my fave backcards
6. Buy myself something special G1 in lieu of getting to the Fair

My pony goals of 2019:
1. Finally figure out a way to display everybody. My sister doesn’t need her bedroom, does she?
2. Speaking of everybody, count and catalogue everybody I have.
3. Get around to taking the frizzy hair of my g4 brush ales from before I took serious care of my collection. Also de frizz the McDonald’s ponies from my childhood. They deserve tlc too.
4. Locate and obtain a decent g1 so soft and non so soft twilight.
5. Obtain more lullaby nursery furniture so I can have a decently decorated pony house. It kinda looks bare with just a dresser,crib and mirror.
6. About a year ago, I shelved an mlp animation project because I had no idea how to lip synch or synch the animation to the sounds. Now that I do know what I’m doing, revisit and finish that.

Sort out some riser shelves for my display cabinet. Which will take a bit of thought as it's a corner cabinet and I have some ideas on grouping ponies so it might be a bespoke job.
Pony-wise I now have most of the affordable ones on my wish-list - so lucky finds of ponies in need of tlc and saving-up for grails are likely to be the pony-hunting methods this year (which could be either The Best Fun or a bit frustrating :) )

I've got a few small collecting goals, basically I have a focus list and I'm glad if I end up getting one from that list by the end of the year XD
I'm also getting Whizzer, to finish my TEs.
And, with a move coming up this year, I'm redoing how I display my collection. I hope to get nice display cabinets (possibly IKEA Detolfs) for them all and have them displayed together instead of how it is now (½ of them in boxes, the rest divided over 4 shelves).

I hope to finish off my ok looking paradise estates, I am missing the white heart, the pool liner, the entire patio set, and many a door,or window awning. Other than that update my pony wish lists, and post the new ones here.

I have no special goals but I'd like to find a glow 'n show pony and more G1 accesories in the wild. And of course I dream of getting even one of my two grails, brazilian Truly and brazilian North Star, for affordable prices instead of what they go for on Ebay. Even though that's nearly impossible. I'm stalking Mercadolivre quite actively due to that, lucky to have a brazilian online friend.
In general it would be nice to stumble upon some ponies on my want list for cheap, like Peppermint Crunch or G1 plushies in the wild, or find online a MO Star Hopper that's shipping prices aren't higher than a skyscraper. I can dream, right? Even one accessory that isn't a comb and a baity Peppermint Crunch in the wild would be a victory.
And of course, boil those ponies that have been piling up since last summer and sunfade ponies with big pen marks!

3. Spa day with ponies who need it
4. Purchase more G3 ponies, looking out for ones I had as a kid
5. Find somewhere to buy hair for customs
6. Sort out my bag of G1 pony wear

Finally tracking down a German Nightlight, grrr...the hunt is tough! :yikes: ^^;

1. Buy a Slugger to complete my Big Brothers.
2. Not go as crazy with buying at this year's Pony Fair (I came home with 70 ponies. It was my first fair and I went a bit nuts).
3. Get back into serious customizing. I started around 20 years ago and work and then health issues got in the way so I stopped.
4. Buy a pony from a country I don't already have. Some countries will always be off limits with their prices...South African ponies I'm lookin' at you. Got a great SA Sparkler custom from Pandabearchan though that looks awesome.
5. Do a bit of reorganizing of the collection. I'm up around 550 and it's looking rather crowded. Maybe need to "cull the herd" a bit. *cries*

I need to get rid of a lot of my extra pony stuff! When's a good time to head over to the Sales forum? Maybe I'll do it right after tax season. Is FiM merch still hot? lol I have a storage closet full of pony stuff I should clean out. I'm hoping to move to a new house this year!

My big goals for 2019 :
- to get EVERYTHING in my pony room in order !! Every single piece!
- clean the playsets!
- build a new stand for the Paradise Estate!
- sort out my G4, especially the Blind Bags as I have WAY to many and Im not really interested in them.
- sort my customizing stuff, replace old stuff and finally throw out everything I havnt used!
- start to make customs again!
Collecting-wise, Id like to complete some sets! :) And finally add Red Roses!

1. Making up better displays. Getting them displayed, I have a loft bed and room to display quite a few.
2. Selling quite a few of my rare g4's. Mostly doubles (International exclusives, first wave ponies with only one release, ponies with bangs etc), so far, looking at ebay sold listings, just for about 6 of them I have about 300aud worth without their things and I have their things. Mine are in beautiful condition, other than one head body mismatch that was very common with that pony which is infuriating. Mostly been in boxes or on display in dark rooms.
3. Cleaning up some of the g1's and g3's. I don't have too many to get through, mostly just some hair work, and some mild cleaning. There are a couple that will need sun fading and maybe even one that might need some zit cream (she is white and not worth much money and very very damaged)
4. Just appreciating my collection. They have been in boxes since I've moved into this house (I've been here 2 years haha), other than my first wysteria (she was the first one I ever started with, I was given 4 from a friend) and a couple of g1's.
5. Coming on here more often. I've been away for a very long time.

Organize the whole collection into one room...that would be pretty neat.

My goals this year are mostly to sell, but also to stay up to date with G4 in stores, especially Cutie Mark Crew. Besides that, I'd like to catch up on the handful of movie toys that escaped me - brushable Tempest Shadow, the second wave of baby seaponies (I saw them ONCE here, right before I had to go back to my school city, and then never saw them again), those two elusive little baby hippogriffs, FIM Collection CMC and Shining Armor sets (and maybe the castle, idk), the Undersea Spa and Undersea Sports sets, GoH Tempest, GoH Caelano (wishful thinking, I know) GoH Boyle (only after I get Caelano). The final wave of blindbags would be nice too, if it ever hits the shelves. Same with the Friendship School playset. Oh, and HQG1C. So much HQG1C.
Much lower priorities would be to FINALLY finish Year 2 of G3, as well as finishing off those G3 sets I've been one away from completing for ages. Getting a tail for my Greek Bluebell is also a desire I have. Getting more accessories for the G3 playsets I have would also be nice. But unless all these things inexplicably manifest within my home, it's probably not gonna happen, because I won't be actively looking for them. ("As if the answer to all your problems would just fall right out of the sky! Ha! Fall right out of the sky!" [cut to UPS plane in freefall] "Dude, we're falling right out of the sky! We gotta drop the load!" [pony mail rains from the heavens, directly into my front yard] "...ALL HAIL THE MAGIC CONCH!")
