I just had to share my strange conversation with an ebay rep today. So I sold a non-pony item on ebay to a buyer who had purchased multiple auctions. She accidentally left me a negative feedback with a positive comment for one of the items. She emailed me immediately and apologized and told me to send her a revised feedback form and she would fix it. Well, that was the last I heard from her. I emailed her a bunch of times until the form expired. It was the only negative feedback on my account and it was bothering me so I called ebay to have it removed. The person helping me wasn't sure if it could be removed since the buyer never responded to the form. So he goes:
"Are you sure you want to remove it?" I was like, huh? I sat silently on the other end of the line.. he goes "because it is a good thing that you have a negative with a positive comment" I couldn't keep quiet, I literally said "what are you even talking about?" He goes "well, just think how people never read the glowing comments on the feedback page. This way, your buyers will be drawn to the lovely words about you by the negative"
waahaahah, I could have peed my pants laughing so hard. I told him thanks for the stellar advice (I did use those words) but that I for one as a buyer just glance over at the percentage rating and decide not to bid if the percentage is low. I don't usually bother looking at the feedback. He said, "well, I think you are missing out on an opportunity but if we can't change it then that is the good part of it"
Oh my goodness! Where do they find these people! He finally transferred me to someone who could help but that was the funniest part of my day. Geesh...

Did that guy just move to our dimension from Bizarro World? XD
I'm starting to think eBay must be importing their customer service employees from there!

I kind of see what he was saying. I know when I buy stuff from Amazon Marketplace or on here, I usually don't actually read positive feedback. I tend to just go straight to any negatives if there are any and after that, neutrals, and fully read them. I also go by percentage, though. Like on Amazon, I won't buy from new sellers or ones with below 95% positive feedback.

well.. I dunno whether to :lmao: or to visitors can't see pics , please register or login
prolly a bit of both! *hides from the stupid that passes as an ebay rep these days*

I can also understand what he is saying.. When I check out a sellers rating.. I never read the positives. I don't even look at the percentage really.. I look at how many negatives they had this month.. the last 6 months.. the last 12 months.. and I read ALL of them.
But you would think that the rep would understand about it affecting your rating and such, right?

:lmao: Oh my goodness! I'm not sure if when he told me that I would have told him off or laughed in his face.

I do the exact same thing! Because I want to see if the person leaving neg comments is a wacko or if they're justified negs lol.
Still as a seller a neg is a neg. Glad you could get it removed!

Haha, that is hilarious. I wonder if that logic ever worked on a seller?
