I guess this is the maximum quality we can expect from it. ^^ At least, we have the complete series at once. ^^

Hasn't this set been around for awhile? I've seen it on Amazon along with the 2 episode sets and a complete Friends one. (Was it for the 25th anniversary?) It's cool you've found it at an actual store though! Nice find

I am pretty sure I have this on DVD too, but I forget where it came from. Probably not the UK...I would assume it's maybe the same disk. I didn't know it was in stores over there too though!

Congrats. :) What a great Dollar Tree find. I got my set a couple of years ago from Amazon. I love MLP Tales and it's really fun to be able to enjoy the episodes at home complete with the bumpers.

I saw this at the Dollar Tree today too!! I almost bought it, but I was there only to buy food and I really need to pinch pennies these days. So hopefully a kid will end up getting it and enjoying Tales as much as I did. ^^

The closest one to me didn't have it. Just got back home and called the second closest, the lady on the phone refused to even bother checking to see if they had it for me, claiming "there are too many to check" and that I'll have to just go there. Excellent customer service there, lady.

If most Dollar Trees are like my closest one, they should just have a lot of copies of the same less than 10 DVDs, so it would be easy to take a glace and see if they have it. It really just felt like she was too lazy to even check.

I got that copy from Walmart a few years ago^^ Bet it was a whole lot cheaper at the Dollar Tree since everything is actually $1 there.

O.O Wow. This is really cool! Man, the hoops I had to jump through to get these episodes back in the day. Seriously. Now the entire series is on DVD at the Dollar Tree?!? XD

Oh cool! I hope I can pick up a copy. Would really help with finding more info about an animation cell I have from the series.

Can you post a pic of your cell? I'm sure some of us could help you out. :) I own some of the cells as well.

Cool find!  I never got into MLP Tales, for some reason.  They didn't air in Australia until after I'd sort of moved on from my childhood pony phase, so I think I just never really felt that same connection to the Tales characters that I have with the MLP & Friends characters.  But I would still buy the DVD in a heartbeat - especially at that price! :D

Tried a different one. They must have got rid of their dvd section. :/

In my area we have Dollar Generals but not Dollar Trees, but I keep checking anyway just incase.
And my heart skipped a beat when I saw a G1 pony in the bargain DVDs! I had combed their regular DVD area but it was just very badly flopped recent movies, lol.

It wasn't MLP Tales as I had hoped, but almost cooler! It is the "Classic TV Collection!"
"Escape from Catrina and Other Adventures"
Other adventures are: Little Piece of Magic, Would Be Dragonslayer, The Revolt of Paradise Estate, Rescue from Midnight Castle, and Flight to Cloud Castle!! Honestly, the only one I've ever even heard of out of those was RFMC. I'm so stoked!!

Although oddly the cashier was a huge jerk about it. I got it to the counter and said hi, and she said "This is a KID'S movie, are you freaking kidding me?" I was so taken aback that I really didn't even respond, she rung me up silently in the next couple of seconds and that was it, but my "thanks, you too" to her "have a nice day" was pretty snarky. >.> (I have a hard time being assertive to people like that, an extremely insincere "thanks, you too" is the best I can manage) but what the hell, dollar store lady!!

Wow, that lady was a jerk!  :(

Does the RaMC on the disc have the "Little Piece of Rainbow" song (by the Moochick) in it?  I'm guess it is the TV version and doesn't have it, but nevertheless I am crossing my fingers.

Not sure about this particular release, but I can say that Shout Factory's complete release of the series is the TV cut (same for Catrina), so I'd imagine this one is the same. :( I'm really starting to wonder if the master copies of the original/uncut specials were lost..

does she realise that mothers with children exist?

Like...does she do this with every adult woman who buys a child's toy? I just dont understand. Has she ever bought a toy from a store before?

I had a random customer do something similar to me when I bought a pony DVD once. I was standing behind her and the casisher asked if the two movies (which were mine) belonged to the customer in front of me. The costumer looked at the movies I had and said “Those aren’t mine I don’t buy those kind of movies.”

Why do sons people think adults can’t enjoy cartoons marketed to kids?

I didn't find it at my Dollar Tree today, but hidden among about fifteen copies of "Disco Worms", were a few G4 "Cutie Mark Quests" DVDs!

There are five episodes: The Show Stoppers, The Return of Harmony Parts 1 + 2, and The Cutie Map Parts 1 + 2

And according to the box, it also includes a sing along!

I visited 2 DT's today, no luck. However, I did find Equestria Girls Legend of Everffree on one.

Mentally agonized over spending too much on getting the DVD at Target, had I know it would be in the DT later.

This is where I ended up getting my copy from.  I checked two different Dollar Trees and no dice.  Big Lots, fortunately, had a copy for $5.

I'm glad I didn't spend any more money on it.  I watched two episodes so far, and it's not my cup of tea.

You know, I'm always confused whenever retail workers make snarky comments about their customers' purchases. Don't they realize that they could potentially cost the store a sale? She had no idea why you were buying the DVD; heck, for all she knew you could have been purchasing for a child. She sounded like a right little ray of sunshine.

Anyways... I'm really tempted to pick this up. I hadn't watched my MLP dvds for a few years, so I sold them, but... I've never seen Tales and the price is incredible. Not sure if my DT has a DVD section, though. :T

Since Big Lots carries them, has anyone found these at Family Dollar?

No luck here either. :cloud: I checked 2 Dollar Trees, Big Lots, Family Dollar and Rural King. The latter had a HUGE bin of $5 DVDs that were exactly the same stuff that was in Dollar Tree so I was hopeful but nope. :(
Literally found everything besides MLP though. Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcake, Flintstones, Tom & Jerry, Barbie and Care Bears but no ponies. I would've driven to other locations further away to check but it was 93 degrees today and I was melting. :hot:

Very late reply but thank you all for backing me up/supportive comments about Jerk Dollar Store Lady! Lol.
I was over it quickly but it just shocks me everytime I see people acting that way or saying things like that. I don't know why, I see/hear people do ridiculous stuff constantly with the Powers of the Internet, but in person it's always a bit more staggering, I guess, and I'm fairly shy, and I never really know how to react. Honestly half the time when I have no reply it's because I have to stop and wonder if they're just joking around or being sarcastic, because it's hard for me to fathom why anyone would say or do things like that.
You are all right, she had no idea what I was even buying it for, why would she even care anyway? :brow: People are astounding.

On topic again (sorry for my tangent!) I tried watching the DVD I bought and it is alright so fair, for the most part. It is the "Classic TV Collection" which has stuff from MLP & Friends. (Not entirely on topic then I guess but kinda close lol!) There's one episode, unsure of the name but the one where Megan babysits the baby ponies? I could just not handle all the baby-pony-baby-talk, got to be way too much. >.< I'll have to give it another go sometime and just skip that one.

I hate the baby talk in MLP & Friends.  And it's supposed to be the same continuity as the 1986 movie, where Baby Lickety-Split spoke normally, in complete sentences!  Then in the televised series she's suddenly all, "Me baby pony!  Me talks like dis becwause show writers no un'erstand dis annoying.  Me calling lawyer 'cause dis charactwer assassination."

She quacks in the Babysitting song! That song, and most of Ice Cream Wars is engraved into my brain so deep I can even hear her quacking.

I echo the stuff said about the jerk. I would have probably just stared at her in confusion, like she'd said something stupid and embarrassing to her and that I didn't get her point.
