Title: G1 Poster ID help?

I found this poster at my local goodwill. Can anybody ID it? Is it actually vintage? Did someone make it? I don’t see any copyright date, and it’s in a frame so I can’t see what’s written on the back (can’t remove from frame without destroying it). It was just so cute I couldn’t leave it behind!

I never saw it before so I can't be very helpful except to say from the cast featured on it I'd guess around 1988 (if it's vintage) as all the ponies on it are from 1987 and 1988 as far as I can see. From the personnel, maybe North America is a good bet. The rainbow is in English, which also limits which markets it might have been aimed at. You can probably cross reference the rainbow text with the packages - the rainbow changed between 1987 and 1988 sometime (at least it did here) which may help narrow down a date.

IF it is actually from the eighties. I don't know if it is authentic or anything about it, so those are all just guesses based on the image itself.

I guess giftwrap or some other thing is not impossible either. If it were a store exclusive item you'd expect to see a store logo. I can't tell though whether there's a tm on the rainbow or not.

We had stuff like that through the Club, but this has nothing to do with our club. Can't rule out if it could have come through a club somewhere else though.

It could be more recent but I feel like the cast is so accurate to those 2 years it would mean someone did serious research. Which is basically unheard of with most G1 retro stuff today.

Taffeta you're right about 1987/1988.

I have the poster somewhere and it can be found on this page as well:
http://www.ponylandtours.com/PonyInfo/Locket.htm

It's an official vintage poster. Here's a wide version:

The note at the bottom says it's Ivy's site. Wonder if that's the same Ivy as the Ivy who was here way back when.

ETA - it looks like it from looking at the site. Haven't seen her in a long time but then the site says 2013 so she may not be actively around right now.

Although as a backcard person I'm fascinated how that site has Locket on the German card and not any image of the US one. It's not wrong, it's just utterly unusual to see a page without the US version. I'm not surprised not to see the UK card - I don't think a UK carded Locket survives tbh, although would love to see one if it does - but I'm pretty sure the German carded one is more unusual than the US carded one. And as a card geek, that struck me ;)

(Story is the US one though I think.).

Not that that has anything to do with the poster, except that it doesn't narrow down its place of origin. I still think the US is most likely, though, given that BabySunnybunch found it in the US, and that it features ponies from that year in the US line. Was the US club still running as late as 1988?

Mine came from a US seller and the wide version was sold shrink wrapped on a stiff card board.
