Title: darknessunisousboy please respond
Post by: PitterPatter on March 09, 2014, 03:39:01 AM
Hi,

I''m looking for darknessunisousboy as I know nothing of what is going on in our transaction.

If you read this, please respond. My message sent to you on the 6th shows as being read, but you still haven't replied, and really it just feels a bit off.

I know that RL can make life difficult, and I appreciate you work (as do I) but I paid you for a surprise bag, informed you I paid, and you have never even told me that you received the payment, or shipped the item.

I paid you on the 4th of Feb. I'm now around 33 days of the Paypal window and still no bag, no contact, nothing. A short message to say "shipped" or something to explain what's going on would really have been appreciated. If you have time to come on the arena and read the message I can't see why you couldn't have kept me updated.

I'm sorry to start this thread, but I've messaged and I've tried the original sales thread, so really this is the next option.

If anyone knows her, please nudge her this way.

I've never had a transaction that feels so off    I know some people have got their bags, and they look great, but I also know I'm not alone in having heard nothing. I had great experience with Darkness hosting the Colour Swap, so I know she can be great, but this whole transaction has seen a complete lack of communication, which saddens me about the whole thing  -_-

Thanks.

Thank you Kaoskat.

Darkness has now responded (as per reply above), turns out my bag hasn't been shipped :( Darkness has promised to ship it asap and add some extras to say sorry, which is nice.

I have asked her to keep me up to date when it goes in the post and if possible to show me a picture of the parcel so I can see the address, as if I know that it is in the system I can stop worrying about the Paypal window.

Sometimes RL gets in the way but its important to let people know if there is a delay in shipping etc ;)   I'm glad this looks like its being resolved now - hopefully everyone owed ponies will get them soon   Please keep us updated

33 days is a bit much. I just noticed you're in the UK and your seller is in the US, which concerns me. You might not get your package within the 45 day window since she waited too long to mail it. Keep an eye on things and if you're still worried at day 44, file a claim. I'd hate for you to lose your money.

It is true that RL can be a pain, I just wish I had known what was going on sooner. I'm sure things are back on track now, but I will keep everything updated :)

Yeah, this is why I have asked for a photo of the package so I know it is being sent. I am going to assess the situation though as it goes and consider what is the best thing to do. I trust that the item will come so at this time I am not inclined to claim, and hopefully it shall stay that way.

It has been a long while for me as well...I paid Jan 31. I get that RL gets in the way, and I know it's not for a lot of money, but i'm feeling kind of left out of the loop. Maybe, Darkness, if you could post something on the origional thread to let people know the haps? I'd hate to see you get pounded with PayPal disputes and go through all that stress...

Nothing for me, either. I think it's out of my hands now. I paid via PayPal with the gift option, so I have no recourse. I think I have to hand this one over to you, ponyLady, unfortunately :( I hate this, I feel so crummy, I wish this had never happened and I feel used. This isn't anywhere near what i expected...it was just supposed to be something fun, and now I just feel like a chump.

Edit: it says she was online yesterday, but I don't see an update on the origional thread.

I didn't use the gift option so I guess it's time to open a claim. I did PM her 2 days ago but no response even though she's been logged in here since then...

See, now I dread signing on to the Arena because I feel like a fool. I think I'm more ticked at myself for being such a shmuck. This hasn't been a good week for buying OR selling things, so this is just gravy

I haven't gotten anything and haven't gotten a response in a while. A while ago she told me she didn't have my address to ship to, or lost it or something? But I replied the same day. Idk what to do really.

Opening the case was the best thing to do at this point  :bigups:

Open a case if you didnt pay with the gift option. It seems that Darkness has run into some sort of trouble with this and many people are owed items. If she is no longer responding and no-one has gotten their items at this point then its best to open a case TBH , even though its hard to do that to another Arena member :awake:

SeashellnBubbles I'm so sorry you paid by gift and cant open a case  :(  I'm hoping Darkness will come back and respond and make things right with you and her other buyers

I guess I was still hoping to get it, but it's getting pretty late for that. :P

She did respond to me to provide tracking, but it wasn't to my address, it was to an Orlando, FL address and I'm in Ohio. I think people mix up Jennifer2004 and I a lot because my paypal email address is somewhat similar to her username here. (It's jennifer0142006). I'll wait for her response to that message before asking for a refund, I guess.

Well, I opened a case and then got this response via PM:

Quote
thank you and sorry. i was having paypal issues. this is why it was not sent.i have been waiting on cash to send this out to you. It was ging out this next reiday. but thaks to you opening that paypal disput my bank account is now over drawn by $50. Once again I am sorry. but Do to this disput I will not have the founds come payday to send this now unless you cancel the disput just thought I would let you know.

I won't be closing the case as after doing more reading of how claims work, and a PM from ponylady, I know if I close it I can't reopen it. Sorry if this means a lot of you who are waiting won't be able to get yours now, but really, the money that was sent should have been used to send our items and it sounds like it was used for other things.  I also don't think it's right to try and guilt me into closing the case by insinuating this will cause a delay in not only my items being sent, but everyone else's.

It's too bad, this was a great idea and I was excited to be part of it. In 15 years of ebaying and buying online, I've NEVER had to open a case until now. It makes me sad that it came to this, especially with an arena member. :(

Post by: Shiromisa on March 15, 2014, 01:15:35 PM
Wow, that is incredibly rude and guilt-trippy of her! It's definitely not your fault for opening a dispute that her bank account is overdrawn, it's her fault for spending the money before she sent out the product.
Title: Re: darknessunisousboy please respond

Should I send her a PM, or should i just let the mods do their thing?
I hope everyone either gets their items or a refund...and I'm also sorry it came to this :(

Funny that people who ignore messages for weeks suddenly "care" enough to respond only after a case is opened. Don't feel guilty for requesting your money back. If it messes up her account balance, that's her own fault. She's had ample time to mail the packages or refund the money. At least communicate with your buyers! I have no sympathy for sellers who treat people this way.
Title: Re: darknessunisousboy please respond
Post by: shadowlark on March 15, 2014, 06:23:49 PM
She's also responded through pay pal yesterday, stating:

Quote
they will be out next payday providing this claim gets droped.

To which I replied:

Quote
I'm sorry but I am not comfortable dropping this claim. We are already at Day 40 and if I drop the claim and wait, I am at risk of going over Day 45.

I don't understand why I must wait for your pay day. The money sent was for items + shipping - that money should not have been used for anything else, but now it sounds like the money has been spent on other things. I should not have to risk going over the claim deadline because you spent the money on something other than sending my item.

I found out after that if I close the dispute, I can't reopen it, so I'm definitely NOT dropping it.

I know I shouldn't feel guilty, but I know there are still other people waiting for their surprise bags who will probably have to wait even longer now because I opened the pay pal dispute. :(

Thanks for the support everyone!

SeashellnBubbles - I'd wait to hear from the mods about what your next step should be.

Don't feel guilty! Tbh, opening this claim might be the only thing that gets you and others their bags at all. It seems like she wasn't overly concerned with getting these in the mail.

Ugh, what she's been doing is really gross! I never thought it would be this much trouble... I'm only out 11 dollars if I don't get it, but this is extremely frustrating and not okay.

Yes, mee too. $11 isn't a lot, but still...she's stolen my money at this point. Either return my funds or send me a package and tell me it's on its way. That's all I ask.
I don't blame you, Shadowlark, if she does neither. It isn't your fault that she hasn't filfilled her side of the deal, and the concequences are hers and hers alone to deal with as she chooses.

Thank you for responding darkness, and yes, those issues popped up very recently (beginning of March) for shipping to the UK only. I'm in Canada, and had paid for my item on Jan 31...well before any issues were being experienced.

Thank you for addressing those that are waiting darkness.

I am not sure why everyone is having issues printing labels First Class through USPS. I just printed one over the weekend. I had to choose Great Britain/Northern Ireland, then click the drop down menu below it and choose United Kingdom.

I'm still waiting too btw. Sorry I haven't said sooner.

I appreciate that it may be coming out Friday "no matter" what but that's after my Paypal deadline. What am I supposed to do? 7 Days ago Darkness said she would ship it asap and that there were postage label problems..... I responded nicely, but she never replied to that.

I'm so upset over this. I wanted the bag as a pick-me-up from the stresses of RL and yet it's only caused more!

I'm going to send Darkness a PM in a min too as I don't see how I can wait until Friday when my Paypal deadline is Wednesday.

Just an update that darkness has sent me a PM with a pic of my package so it should be on its way. Hopefully everyone else's get out soon too. I still feel bad about the pay pal dispute but assuming the package gets here and all is good, i'll close it then.

I agree that if you're approaching the paypal deadline, you should open a dispute - better safe than sorry!

I feel for everyone involved in this situation, including Darkness.  :(  I know how easy it is to get in over your head and once things start going array sometimes it's really hard to catch up, especially if it's true that her account has been over drafted.

I wish everyone the best of luck trying to sort this out.  It seems like she's trying to set things right and isn't intentionally being dishonest, but I, too agree that paypal claims should be filed before the 45 day limit, just in case.

 to everyone!

It easy to get in over your head, and that is fine, but Darkness wasn't keeping in contact and thats a big cause of the problems.
I only got a message back from her yesterday because I had put the claim in and she wanted me to close it because of the overdraft which left me feeling like her overdraft problem was my fault. I should not be made to feel like that
She said when I started this thread in a PM she would send it "ASAP" and that was about 9 days ago and it's still not due to go out til tomorrow.

I don't think there is intentional malice either, but I wish she had handled it in a more professional way. It's a shame for all of us, whether people are bothered about the cost/bag or not -_-

Fingers crossed for all still waiting *crosses fingers*

Cloud I think you hit it right on the head, she got in over her head. No pun intended.

We are a pretty forgiving community and if she got overwhelmed a quick PM to all involved would have surfaced. She also could have shot a quick PM to a Mod and the message would have been relayed privately to all involved.

I would not feel bad at this point for any of you opening a case.  I also feel trying to be made to feel guilty into closing it, is pretty naughty. The cases would not have had to be opened if there was some sort of communication. Which there was not.

No offense to you darkness but you need to take responsibility for your own actions. The cases that were opened will be closed, as soon as the items show up at your recipients doorsteps.

That's exactly the message I got and it made me feel the same way. :(

The last message I got with the pic of my package also had this message:
Quote
just a heads up.
here is your box and as I said previously paypal is not printing my international labels for shipping and i have been working full time. also attached is the calculated shipping for said box. So yeah what you paid will not cover it but when i financially had the cash i was more then willing to eat the coast to get it to you. with the claim open in paypal i could not use paypal even if i was able to.

I understand your frustration with me.

This made me feel guilty again, by pointing out that she's out of pocket for shipping....but that's not MY fault. I asked in advance what shipping would be and paid what I was quoted for the items + shipping. So now I feel bad about opening the claim and overdrawing her account AND that she's out of pocket for the shipping :(

At this point, I'm not even excited about the surprise bags anymore. I just want them to get here so everything is done with :(

Again, please try not to feel guilty. This mess is NOT your fault! She should have mailed the package right away. Delaying it and not responding to people is what got her in trouble. She needs to refund you 100% or send your package. Don't send her any more money! You know it won't end well if you do...

Wow! This is like a bingo card of what not to do as a seller. She's the one who miscalculated shipping; generally, doesn't that fall on her to cover it?

shadowlark thank you for posting the message you received. While I seriously understand that things arise, this has been over a month with no communication. There is no need to put the guilt trip on anyone. The problem lies in your hands darkness. Do not make these folks feel like they did wrong by opening a case.

The cases were opened against you because these fine folk have been waiting for there items, which obviously have not been received. They have to protect themselves and make sure they are not out the money and the goods. I think with a little communication we would not be here right now.

Title: Re: darknessunisousboy please respond

See, this is why, as a seller, I don't touch anyone's money until the item is OUT of my hands and on its way to its new owner!  Because until the item is out, as far as I'm concerned, that money is NOT mine.  If I didn't need the money the way I do at the moment, I wouldn't even touch the money until I knew for sure the buyer had the item in hand and was happy, but unfortunately the world isn't always perfect.

Whenever I have a problem come up, and a delay, which I have been having a few of those given everything.  I do get why some people clam up.  Some people do get angry no matter what you do, even if the delay is unavoidable, like being sick in the hospital.  That happened to me last August, I think?  I had an international party interested in a bunch of ponies and I was sick and medicated to the nines and told not to drive, so I couldn't get the quote. . .  Instead of being mature and saying she was no longer interested, she just ignored my every message. . .  Her problem, though, as I was looking at some ponies I was interested in and saw they were her's.  Nope.  :/  I believe communication is absolutely key no matter what, and if a seller OR buyer cannot or refuses to communicate, than no bueno.

Thank you Darkness--I think I can speak for all of us when I say that.
Next time, just remember to contact people about delays and not to spend the money before you ship packages if it's not a dire situation.

Thank you for the update Darkness and for shipping out the parcels and making things right   :bigups:  sometimes real life issues and other things get in the way and this situation can happen to anyone.  In future if ever you run into problems like this its best to keep up good communication from the start- that way your buyers dont get worried and things dont get worse ;) I think everyone is just happy that their parcels are on the way now and you are ok too.

I can confirm Darkness did message me some details of postage :)

I have seen a receipt which has UK postage on, and a custom form. The custom form however was for Canada, not mine, so I have asked if there is one, which I'm sure there will be as I think I'm the only UK'er with a problem so if theres a cost receipt there'll be a custom form somewhere too.

Most parcels have taken around the two week mark to get to me from the US, but obv it depends. Either way I have told Darkness I shall let her know when it arrives, and I shall update here too to give some closure here ^.^

I received my box and I was very disappointed.

It has taken me a day or two to be able to message Darkness about it. I shall see what she says, but I guess this whole thing was never meant to be :(

What were you disappointed with? The contents of the package? Mine weren't too great either, but I guess that's what happens with a surprise bags. Some people got really cool items and then some were not too great.

It's not that I expected the world. But I didn't expect it to be this.... poor. I don't want to say in public yet, as Darkness has the right to respond in private.

But I don't believe they were up to the standard she indicated "some mint, some played with". Especially when you consider ones from people who bragged about them. Surprise is all well and good but this... wasn't the right surprise I'm afraid.

Still waiting for mine. Don't even have a tracking number - the receipt she PMd me was for someone else according to Canada Post - whoever lives in Okotoks, your package is at the post office. I have until April 3 to escalate, so hope it's here before then.

Received mine today. I got a fence from the Show Stable reissue, a G3 activity book, and an early G3 Pinkie Pie McPony still in bag. Can't say I'm absolutely thrilled, but it was a surprise, and nothing I had yet.

Hi,

So I've been away on a long weekend (it was much needed) and no reply from Darkness. This is what I got:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Plus a little colouring book.

Why am I so upset??? They are broken rubbish! Those chew marks are all the way around the front of the pony, it's even formed a rip on the base of the hoof there is so much chewing!

I don't have either of them and so would have been thrilled (especially as I nearly have all those 3.5 mc ponies) but they are broken.

The Mcpony doesn't stand well because it's ripped out of its base and the Sweetie Belle looks like it's been mauled.

The rest of you got whole, entact things. You may not be fussed with McD ponies but at least they were bagged, entact, useable for you.

Also, given that 3 things is the norm seemingly it's slightly sad that Darkness said she would put out extras for me to apologise for the wait, although they didn't make it into the box which is a shame.

Well the post stated some mint some played with and someone in the post asked about bait. An I said there could be. The contents of each bag where random contents for $1.

I don't know, I think it's fair for her to wonder why she got two really baity ponies and a non-pony item, when others got ponies in decent condition.

Are you kidding me, Darkness? You're taking absolutely no responsibility for this at all from what i've seen. You've passed the blame in a passive-aggressive way every time you've been asked or had consequences applied to YOUR actions/inactions. Even many of your apologies are accusatory and insincere! And now you're AGAIN suggesting someone else is to blame for the crappy bag because, hey...someone asked about there being baits included, she should have EXPECTED it? I went back and looked at your posts after this one:

Would the ponies' condition be random as well? (ie one could be mint and one baity)? And will there be a limit to how many surprise bags a person can purchase? Because I would take a few lol

And you never actually addressed the question in that thread at all. Then you imply that she shouldn't have expected much for $1? It's irrelevant as to the cost of the bag...she held up her end of the contract and sent you money enough to cover shipping and the cost of the items themselves. You misappropriated her funds and used them for something other than the purpose to which they were entrusted to you until you were challenged in public and had a PayPal diispute opened against you.
And by the way, where's MY bag? Where's a note to me (and whoever else might be in my situation still) apologizing for the lateness in shipping or at LEAST a note telling me that my items have been shipped? I have no recourse through PayPal since I trusted you and sent you the funds as friend or family, so I'm SOL as far as leg to stand on goes, and i accept that.
Stand up, be an adult, and take responsibility. You promised PitterPatter a nice gift for having to wait so long and you didn't even have the decency to deliver on that.

Your attitude disgusts me. You think it's okay to string me along for so long, promise me an apology gift, and then shirk responsibility. I hope you are happy with yourself for this.

I messaged you privately about not being happy about my bag and you haven't had the decency to reply to that, just rocked up here several days later vaguely suggesting you are in the right.

There are decent people on this board who manage to admit when they make a mistake, or try and support others through their troubles, but all you have done is take advantage of a situation and sit back whilst people are openly upset.

I am certain you have deliberately sent me things that were below average, you have deliberately ignored my messages and attempts to be decent. You are also deliberately ignoring others like Seashell who have not received their parcels.

She is right, you do need to stand up and be an adult about this. You messed up and you know it, but pretending you haven't only makes the situation worse.

I did not miss appropriate jack and her sounds where not enough to cover it . I was willing to call it even at the fact it was more then double what she paid me to ship
So not hoping for this to go away. But do to all the
Problems from this I am no longer selling on line.

What is the general etiquette about a seller under-calculating shipping charges?

What is the general etiquette about a seller under-calculating shipping charges?

i am not sure but i always eat the shipping if i under quote for shipping. as that is MY fault that i under quoted. as it sits right now, i am out almost $100 for underquoting on shipping for this, am i whining and complaining about it?? nope. not at all.

as for anything else on this, i know i screwed up. all i can do is say i am sorry and that everyones boxes have been shipped out. if you haven't received it, please check with your post office. and so this wont happen again,  this will be the last time i sell anything here.

As darkness said, the general etiquette for under calulating shipping charges is that since it was the sellers mistake the seller will cover the costs- not the buyer  :awake:
There might be some exceptions to that such as if someone picked up some items for another pony friend from a store for actual price as a favor , and then the person who bought the ponies etc for their friend miscalcuated. Since the person is not actually the seller and is not profiting from the transaction then that wouldnt be fair if they had to eat extra shipping costs.  Also if two members who were friends on here tried to work out a shipping cost and the seller messed up but since the buyer is their friend they might want to pay the extra since its their friend, not a business transaction with some random seller.

Maybe if you had communicated with people instead of sticking your head in the sand it wouldn't have gotten this bad. You have no one to blame but yourself for this mess. And all you have done is blame your buyers. That's just sad.
Title: Re: darknessunisousboy please respond

I never blamed anything on anyone. So please don't assume things about me. As for the last person to comment. I have laid down my apologies. An knowing since this thread started that I messed up hard. I do not need or want further drawing through the perversely mud. So stop coming I. With your unwanted assumptions of me and leave this whole topic for the buyer, mods  and me to sort out. I do not want this to mentally drive me to leaving the arena for good. There are a lot of oldtimers here that know me well enough that also know I usually am a great person
So once again sorry  to all involved.

Well I think you can appreciate I have no choice but to leave negative feedback as the whole thing was by far a positive transaction and nor do I feel it was resolved appropriately.

Title: Re: darknessunisousboy please respond

Pitter I believe at this point you are left with no choice. While I understand the "mystery bag" was only $1, it should have included at least a decent McDonalds pony.  Also you were promised something a little extra for the delay, which obviously was not included.  Then there is the lack of communication and late shipping.

Darkness I am not sure what you want the Mods to do?  I know you are trying to sort this the best you can but you can't blame these folks for being a tad frustrated and disappointed. I think with a little communication from the beginning this would not have gone the way it did.
