Hi friends!
I'm wondering if anyone has had bad luck with online bidding? The ones I bid on I tend to loose.
I'll share the pics of the ones that got away.

And I just missed one by having the bid take time to load :/

I was once bidding on a really beautiful Wind Whistler, which I actually wanted to start my collection with, but someone outbid me literally in the last few seconds by quite a lot - but I don't really blame them, since she was really worth all of it ;)
-
The one I regret the most are the Sylvanian Family pigs I saw. There was one going for cheap, including all the bandanas and even a baby. I ended up forgetting about it and overslept... I ended up buying another listing but they were $5 more and didn't have any bandanas, and no baby... >_<
Other than that I have pretty great luck. I got MIB Port-o-Bella for $35 during a time where she was that much out of box, $65 for G4 Starswirl (with Rarity, carriage, and accessories all included), and a MIB Kimono for a penny. ;)

All the bloody time. Recently missed out on a pretty decent SS Twilight and a SDCC Good vs Evil.
-
I forgot to bid on a set of wingers that came up a few weeks ago and went for WAY less than I was willing to pay!
-
Oh I know the feeling!! I haven't kept any of the images though, sorry!
I missed out on a half deflocked Twist that I really wanted the other day. I love deflocking so finishing her off wouldn't have been a problem.
There was also the MOST amazing lot a few months back; I could not believe my luck. It included Moon Jumper for a quarter of her price plus about 9 other 'bonus' ponies. And it was BIN. Well I did my level best to do that but both my phone AND laptop refused to play the game and hung on me so I missed out on that. I was really sad.
I was also watching Nightlight. Because: Nightlight. And then I saw that the seller had lowered her price to something ridiculous while I was asleep and someone else had bought her. That was sad too.
Anyway, it isn't all bad. I watched someone fight against my autobid for Vanilla Treats last night. They actually bid 46 times, it was amazing. But I did still win the auction and for less than what she normally goes for. Luckily too I can just go and fetch her, so no postage.

A few weeks ago, there was a lot with Megans Place and a few other sets. Seller originally had it listed as a buy it now, but I went ahead and put a bid in and was high bidder for a week up until the end where someone of course out bid my high bid. I have a Megans Place with box, but my brush is broken and the lot had an intact brush and a couple of other pieces I was missing. I'm still kicking myself at not just doing the buy it now when I had the chance. Same thing happened on a Matchbox carousel lot of horses. Seller listed with a buy it now, but me trying to save a few dollars, put a bid in and that auction sold to someone else for more than the buy it now was listed. Good for the seller I guess.
Lesson learned: I won't bother trying to save a dollar. Just go for it and avoid the heartache of losing.

Oh boy. The worst one I had was Beach Belle and Caribbean Delight. While I was at work, it sneaked up just above my high bid. I still dream about losing that auction.
-
there is a seven tales melody on sale now but i can't afford it right now due to kingsday coming up. Im crossing my fingers she will be for sale next month but my chances are low...also a 25 bucks creamsicle.
edit: welp, seven tales melody got away. Plus the g2 magic motion ponies that I didn't regocnize On last kingsday.

There was a shopgoodwill auction with a Rapunzel and a whole bunch of others... I missed it by like $15. It was such a steal! I avoid online auctions as much as possible anyway... defeatist attitude attained.
-
Arghh I lost more :(

Oh dude that sucks so much!

Oh no! Some super nice ponies there!

This has happened to me on occasions (thanks to my mum not bidding in time) there was this bundle of Barbie Sister Chelsea dolls with an articulated Chelsea in it my mum thought we won it she said it’s done but we didn’t win the bundle because someone else bided after us and the time run out.
It also happened on this Gingerbread pony (have to get a new one because I can’t find my one), too late again.
Why can’t I win anything that I bid on

One of my first Goodwill online bids was a lot with two (2!!) Dream Beauties and a Red Roses. If you know me you know I'm positively obsessed with DBs. Still mad I lost that one.

Oh man! Those are hard to find! That must suck! Which Dream Beauties may I ask?

Missed out on a bundle of four baits, not happy plus I missed out on a Baby Blossom as well (I need three of them to use as a base for three ponies in that pose)

Just recalled this one- another online Goodwill auction. A bunch of G1 books, a few G3 too (duplicates because they’re still super common in my experience) and even some UK comic annuals (I’m in the US). And the reason I bid in the first place- a German language version of “The Magic Rainbow!” RIP mein hertz.

I don't stress myself out like this. Ponies are supposed to be fun!

Yes!
Unless it's a OOAK, there's always more. :)

Thank you, it just sucks when they start reasonably priced then become out of reach or you miss them.

Missed out on a Daddy Apple Delight, I’m having no luck.

I think if a pony starts super cheap, and the price creeps up, that's not something to stress about. You submitted the price you wanted to offer - someone was offering more. A cheap starting price does not guarantee a cheap ending price. I agree it can be frustrating to lose an auction by a dollar or two, but I always say to myself: you never know what the maximum amount of the highest bidder was. It could have been tens of dollars more than what the winning price was - something I would definitely not have offered.
That said, I do get grumpy when I lose an auction for reasons caused by me, or by the circumstances. Like forgetting about the auction, thinking twice/saving it for later, oversleeping, internet connection issues, or simply waiting for the seller to reply about shipping (when they do not ship to where I live). All of these happened to me more than once in the past. Some still make me sad even after months, or probably even years, but I try not to think about them, because that won't change anything other than my mood, for the worse.
