Recently I went to pick up some ponies I bought from a local (argentine) collector and saw this one at her display. On all these years of toy selling, I don´t recall coming across this variant before so I asked and she kindly allowed me to take many pics of it... just wondering if anyone at the forum already has it or heard of it ? will be good to know!

I believe she is Gusty's body with Moondancer's head and tail.

No, I've not seen her before, thank you for sharing :)
Her eyes are blue which is Gusty's eye colour, so that would indicate she's not had her head swapped with a Moondancer.

There are some funny and rare Argie ponies out there, I must admit she doesn't surprise me considering the variants of Moondancer that have been found.

I really like her like this. Such a soft pink. It's not crazy bright like that highlighter green one in the Nirvana gallery

Thenx Kim for the tag, was going to say that it was a head swap but eyes don´t match Moondancers. Removing the head to see how the hair is rooted and checking the eye paint are the only ways to make sure its an original... btw Ive never seen that variant before so I cant vouch for it.

Moondancer' eyes are lilac and Gusty's are blue, the eye colour was the first thing I looked at. The hair looks Argie to me, but I think you need to look inside to confirm if it's a factory weave and washer.

Received closeups of eyes and inner head. I zoomed each eye pic and the paint texture seems to match the black paint used:

Did you get a picture of her tail washer? That’s another clue :)

here is a picture of my girl's eyes. I think I will keep her out of the bin and do a spa day with her. (sorry for the lighting, all we have are soft light which are annoying for photo taking)

argies are sketchy ponies, man, yeah can they get around :bigups: ... and yeah I have to not hijack, just it was so cool to think that maybe I don't have a knock-off like I feared
I am sticking with my bias that green hair moonie is a franken and Ember and I got to hang to talk-pony stuff as I have a couple other questionables, let's call 'em and I was biased about rainbow moonie as well (gingerbread and moondancer swap) but I found out there is a MOC of that one, so yes it does seem that like with painted ponies and all that perhaps the factory "oops" were actually put in production. So that is just cool to have another argie gusty variant just in time for spring :hearts:
dunno but it is just sucha cool part of connecting with other pony-peeps the world over :-)

There is a green haired Moondancer in the gallery, I can’t remember her story (she was owned by Shelti)

I can’t quite see the eye colour to compare with Gusty and Moondancer though.
It is hard as head swaps, repairs and factory errors do make argie ponies somewhat sketchy.

the green hair moonie eyes are blue like gusty and moondancer has lilac so that was where I was thinking about the franken-pony... and then I started looking at rainbow moonie suspicious but fortunately there's a MOC in the community, so now I am willing to reverse my opinion if we ever find a MOC green hair moonie, but I am most comfortable with the blue, pink and rainbow at the moment confirmed :-)
I do so love there's still pony-treasure out there "in the wild"

I own the MOC rainbow Moonie :) I wondered if maybe the factory just thought it was easier to take what would've been a Gingerbread and stamp Moondancer's symbol on it? I also have a green haired Moonie and she does have the purple eyes. Hope that is helpful for you Maycrestmom. Your ponies are so lovely!

ok cool! :happy: if there is a green hair moonie that has "traditional" eyes than yep, I would consider that one a legit variant IMO since blue hair and pink hair have purple/lilac eyes. For rainbow, I do think that one's an example of a legit "oops" pony. Like I have a green hair rainbow baby MOC that I think should have been a baby moondancer but they put the wrong parts together so now it's a cool oddball

Oh! She's BEAUTIFUL! I've never seen her before! Her colouring is just sublime, the classic white and pink with those golden leaves. She looks absolutely legit with that tail washer and the neatness of the roots of the mane, too. She's mythical in beauty. I'm totally in love.
