The nerve of some people! I bed that their pony is really ugly and use a picture of a nice pony.
Maybe you can contact ebay about it. Send them a e-mail. I am sorry I  only buy on ebay so I am not much of a help  :(
Hope you can disolve it!

Ugh, some people D|

There's a report button on the far right side of the top of the description bar~

However if ebay doesn't remove it promptly, I'd contact the seller.

thank you so much!!
I reported it!!
It's actually a pony accessory so they prolly thought no one would notice,
heck, I've actually been watching the item for 6 days (to see if it would sell as high as mine did) and I didn't even notice!!

I would report it via the button and also maybe phone eBay customer services? I think eBay can get in a lot of trouble for that as well as the seller who stole the photo so they should remove it fairly promptly. I would also double check the sellers previous listings and see if they stole any more of your pics.

Let us know who the seller is, too, so I can mark them down that they steal photos for auctions!

How rude! This kind of thing happens to you too frequently relcelestia, it's because you take such awesome photos.  ;)

Sorry this has happened to you.  Ebay will remove it, they don't mess around when it comes to image and text theft.

I actually had to add the link to the rules about it to my listings because it seemed like it was happening every other day to me.  They either used my pictures or copied my template word for word to their listing.

But I am also curious who the seller is because the last time I reported someone it was for stealing one of my accessory photos.

I've had people lift text from my auctions before (sizable chunks), and eBay was really quick about shutting down those auctions for plagiarism when I reported it using the link to do so attached to that auction.

Glad to hear you reported it   its so annoying when someone steals your pics or text. I've had it happen to me too    :throw:
Thankfully Ebay will normally remove the listing very quickly once you've reported the item ;)

The seller was lilostitchtoys
the auction is ended now and I think it sold for like $7
and mine sold for $78
so that makes me feel better lolol!!
I'm glad to hear that eBay is so strict about it,
I'll keep u all posted!
Thank you all for the support and love! ^_^

I looked at her completed listings:
http://www.ebay.com/csc/lilostitchtoys/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_ipg=50&_since=15&_sop=13&_rdc=1 (http://www.ebay.com/csc/lilostitchtoys/m.html?LH_Complete=1&_ipg=50&_since=15&_sop=13&_rdc=1)

I am just curious are any of her other accessory pictures yours?

how are you able to see completed listings?

If you are on their page where the listing are, on the left there will be a tick box for 'Completed Listings' which shows all their ended auctions for I think 30 days :)

They've done it again? Some people are just plain rude. I would ring eBay and contact the seller again. Tell the seller that you're contacting your lawyer about image theft or whatever you call it (too tired to think, sorry)

They will never learn it. I should contact ebay again maybe they can do something against her because she stole pictures for the second time.

I really don't understand ebay and their multiple violation before we can do something attitude. Please if it's that bad and I think image theft is pretty bad since it's pretty much faking the whole auction should b dealt with the first time not 10 times later. *gurr*

Ugh!! that sucks!   :throw: @ seller  :enraged:
Keep reporting it and pestering ebay until they do something about it. Talk to someone on the phone if they arent sorting it out via email.  They need to remove this auction  right away since it is image theft and it goes against their own policies

Unfortunately Ebay doesn't always respond fast enough. The other problem is that sellers who are in competition with eachother (sell the same item) report auctions for such reasons but some are false reports.

So Ebay has to weed out the real ones with the fake ones.

I have had text stolen. It's so lazy and pathetic the people that do that. If you can't take a picture and write your own auction, don't sell on Ebay.

Wow! I'm sorry to hear people have the gall to do this! Perhaps you could find a unique table-cloth or curtains to use as a backdrop to distinguish your listings and reduce image theft..? Just a suggestion of course! I have an old G3 backcard I use (not very original I know.. ) when I take photos of my ponies, but at least I know not many other people actually *use* that particular backcard.... maybe.  Well not that I've seen on ebay!  :P

...I actually had to add the link to the rules about it to my listings because it seemed like it was happening every other day to me.  They either used my pictures or copied my template word for word to their listing...

Hahah! YES!! I not implying this is funny at all, but I actually saw a couple of ebay listings [months ago] with with your 'believe' in the title!!  It was a real 'what the..?' moment - total utter rip-off!

:argh:  I can't believe she had the nerve to use it again.

I am just curious though when you reported it did you send a link from your auction that the picture was stolen?

@Xaniss, I actually kinda laugh about it too now.  Do they think it will go unnoticed or something.  I mean I have customers email to tell me most of the time which I find even funnier.  Grateful but funny.

Oh yeah, along with sending a link from the auction it was from, make sure you use a link to the EARLIEST auction that used the photo. So if you relisted the item 3 times, use the completed auction from the FIRST time you listed it. This will help 100% prove that indeed you had the photo first and therefore took the photo.

Just wondering, Ponylady do you put "believe" in your titles to distinguish your listings from others? And then someone puts "believe" in their titles so people looking for your auctions will find theirs?

Is that the idea?

you need to water mark it. I don't know how you do this but somehow your username ends up across the picture but seethrough. It means no one can steal your images ever again

Watermarking an image does NOT prevent it from being stolen.  It only makes it more inconvenient to edit the watermark out.  Many theives don't care and think the Internet is theirs to steal.  A watermark can be edited out of the photo by someone with a bit of skill and 30 minutes.  The only true way to prevent images from being stolen online is to not upload them.

But yes, a watermark would be a good idea, especially if you place it somewhere very obvious like over the centre!  Those are harder to edit out of the image...  ;)

While I do agree with most of what you write, if a watermark is used correctly it can be difficult to remove. I raise rabbits, Hollands are my speciality. In the show world its cut throat and people will steal pics and put them on CL to sell their bunnies. SO to counter this I put my watermark on the face of the bunneh <3 So the thieves will go UGH why!!! xP I've got some adorable Hollands some their parents cost a pretty penny >.< So this means put the watermark everywhere <3

She didnt mean for her response to be mean or harsh, tornadoe. Its just fact thieves will go to any length. Like I mentioned before, I had a picture of my holland Little Dude, hes the perfect holland, someone stole his pic that I had watermarked just under his eye and they removed it. So I reposted the pic again but this time with my watermark everywhere. I figured out who it was and made my rabbit world community aware and surprise they no longer have rabbits. But yea theres a site that offers to do a whole page watermark for you :)

I'm sorry that you were offended by my reply.  I'm a blunt person... I don't mean to sound harsh, I just don't speak diplomatically very well.  Usually I make my point and then realize it sounds pretty curt. :(

A useful place to put watermarks would be areas of the picture with small detail... that way it's a little harder for people to edit them out.

Just so everyone knows, most people that steal pictures on Ebay aren't scammers and actually have the same item you do. They are just too lazy to get up and take their own photo.

This means they would most likely be too lazy to sit there and try to edit out a watermark. It would negate the whole stealing photos to save time and energy thing...
