Discord is a chatting app/website. People can create and join servers to hang out and chat in. You can chat via text, audio, and more recently, video. It's become something that people are often using instead of Skype now. It was originally created for gamers to more easily talk to each other when gaming, but it's expanded much further now and there's now servers for just about any interest and hobby.

Awesome! I am on discord *all* the time for Pokemon Go, haha; it's where all the local groups organize for the community days and so on.
