Title: How to remove a G2 nose magnet?
Post by: pinkiefan612 on October 23, 2019, 04:44:05 AM
Hi! I recently thrifted a G2 Cupcake with a rusty nose magnet. I was wondering if it can be removed and how?

Following! I also got a G2 Cupcake that I'd like to de-magnet!

Take off the head first, can you see if there is a lot of glue on the magnet?

No, I tried to spot the magnet from all angles, but I can only see the hair plugs and the forehead area from the inside. The neck hole is too small.

I'd just jam a small screwdriver under it and lever it out.

I'm about 99% sure the magnet is just glued into a little slot in the plastic. I think I recall seeing some where the magnet had fallen out. So I'd probably heat the head and pry it out.

I didn't know there was a G2 with a magnet in her muzzle! That's cool, it's like an ancestor to the G3 hoof magnets lol.

Might it be worth a shot to leave the snoot in acetone/nail polish for a short while?

It'll get rid of the paint if there is any left, and maybe soften up the glue? From there you could use a scalpel or some of those thin scissors to loosen it up?

The only over thing I can think of is getting a super big magnet and trying to use the magnetic force to pull out the pony's magnet?
