I actually like them! But only if their eyes aren't rusty. ;)
(Also- is your profile picture of Prince Sidon? I really like it!)
I love their poses and colors. They just set off a mild doll phobia I have. I'd love to have Baby Frosting, Baby Lofty, Baby Half-Note and Baby Ribbon. But I'd rather they be turned into TEs or regular eyed ponies. Maybe I need to see one in person?
I had some as a kid so I have a soft spot for them. But yes, theirs are faces only a mother could love, lol.

as long as theres no rust i think theyre really cute! and yes.. it was drawn by iniro (http://iniro.tumblr.com/post/158215497680/catching-a-ride-and-visiting-ur-fav-fish)I love their poses and colors. baby frosting is my favorite of all of them...i really want him
ME! I love BBEs, the horrible little monster fuel darhlings. I love them when they're all creepy and chewn up, rust colored, and ready to hunt for brains. I usually try to offer any that need a home for $1 a piece but then i'm shocked when people want to charge $5-7 for them when they themselves claim that 'no ones wants them" but if I ask about the $1 they get really upset and tell me thats ridiculous.

I can't really blame them for not offering such a huge discount. Most people would say no and its kind of rude to get upset people won't sell an item priced at $5-7 for $1.

Thanks! The three in your post can be derusted, no problem. They're so cute!
Also, nothing's unanimous here. Even though many don't like G3.5, for example, some of us really love them.
G2 love might be pretty close to unanimous here though, haha.
I had a BBE Heartthrob when I was a kid, and I thought she was a fakie. I also thought she looked really old instead of a baby so I just pretended she was the shriveled up old lady pony of my herd XD
It's more the strange reaching poses I dislike than the eyes themselves. I dislike the eyelash sweetheart sister's more.
groucho marx princesses. Those are rooted in too aren't they?Eyelash princesses are rooted. :o)
Um well I think Hasbro could have done more with them.
For instance the BBE sunlight prototype that I have I think is beautiful. Imagine her and a baby sunlight?
How cute would mommy and baby bbe sets have been?

Here's an example of the infamous "BBE unicorn mohawk". I can't believe they didn't fix this before mass-releasing the BBEs. The hair is SO determined to stay like that, too. If anyone has any theories why the hair does that, I'd love to hear them.

again I think it was a good concept but not applied very well. Some of them are really cute but it always seemed weird that there were no adult bbe's.
maybe the baby eyes should have been a bit smaller? BBE baby eyes do look like they are bugging out a bit and this is not the case with adult bbe sunlight so I think her eyes were the correct size. Maybe the sockets on the babies were created to be to big?
You think that Mohawk is bad, I raise you a frontal curl and a sideways Mohawk. Yep this gal is impervious to strengthening. I tired it only made it worse and I gave up.
:devious:

Bummer, theres no fixing that with fake people lashes...hm now i want to try.I have successfully made an eyelash princess look just like a regular pony. Takes skillz. Someone has given her fake people lashes as well; it looked nice.
Um well I think Hasbro could have done more with them.Hmmm... did somebody say make a custom baby...

It's their bulgy, blinky doll eyes though that forbid me from ever getting any.Furbies are the devil.Seriously, i can't imagine how someone would create that and think it's a good idea.
With the sole exceptions of Teddy Ruxpin and Grubby. (Because they were awesome back then) I can't have blinky things in my room. They'd stare at me in the dark and come closer.
This fear was made worse by my best friend/roommate's Furby that, I kid you not, still worked after it's batteries were taken out. It would just sit there on the shelf blinking at you constantly. We both got seriously freaked out by the creepy little monster.

Leave a Whisper, your post reminded me that someone made a Furby-inspired horror game called Tattletail.

Law, so what I like about them is specifically what you don't like about them.
I wish I had a demon-possessed Furby...could save $ on batteries, you know in exchange for your soul of course.
Even with her batteries my Starlily doesn't do anything unless I initiate contact first. No demon possession there.
I picked up a Furby just to see what they do but it had a lot of leaked battery damage and I haven't tried to clean it up and see if I can make it work...how old does it need to be?
I keep thinking about how good mlp4me's ninja turtle BBE looks. The eye mask just goes so perfect.

Where is this creepy valley anyway, and who else is in there....must take a vacation there as soon as someone can tell me how to get, how to get to creepy valley....following the yellow brick road no doubt.

While a creepy valley sounds fun and full of spooky Halloween stuff, the Uncanny Valley is inhabited exclusively by bad CG and robots trying to hard to look human, and wax figures. It is not a pleasant place. Your entire time there, you will feel vaguely unsettled because the human form, something that should be familiar...is just slightly off.
I had an animation teacher draw a diagram once. The uncanny valley is literally the uncomfortable pit you fall into when you try to make things that aren't human look human. It doesn't apply to marble statues but to many other things, and it's the reason animation companies favor highly stylized designs for human characters.

My old Furby scared the crap out of me before I got rid of it. It was thrown in a plastic storage bin in my closet with a bunch of other stuffed animals. I hadn't seen it in a couple years but when I was on summer break from my 1st or 2nd year of college, it woke me up in the dead of night with it's "ahhhh" greeting they used to do. I was terrified even after I realized what the noise was. I was totally creeped out because out of no where it just woke up in the depths of my closet. I immediately dug it out and took the batteries out because I couldn't remember how to put it back to sleep. I got rid of it not long after.
Well whatever else can be said about BBEs, waking up after years of slumber or blinking while on the shelf aren't among them.
As to the blinking eyes some of the latest Rarity FS with the action legs do that.

Also, nothing's unanimous here. Even though many don't like G3.5, for example, some of us really love them.I like G3.5 babies (though they look much more like a cat than a pony :P though that's also true for G1 teeny tinies and some newborns  ), but the adults - not so much.
G2 love might be pretty close to unanimous here though, haha.
Ah so g2 wasnt always so loved...i'm new.G2 used to be not so much liked because of how different they are. I can't say this was a general opinion, but I do remember people saying they are too skinny and look off compared to G1 and G3. That said, I do see their difference as well, and when we played with my sister they always were considered to be the "teen ponies" in the herd, for their figure and smaller size compared to G1. But I never found them to be "off" or to be less MPL than G1 (or G3. To my eyes and brain, G4 is, and always was the "off")
I just got a second furby a couple weeks ago (1998) and this one works...hes nice enough and i recognize some of Star Lily's quirks in him though she's much more refined. Not possessed though darn.yay, congrats! yes, they can indeed be quirky, but IMO that often just adds to their charm :) I do have quirky guys and gals in my flock myself :)
Do furbys have different behavior from one to another or are they more the same?
Thanks for the info! Mine says Whoa when moved but also says DO IT an when you clap (I was checking to see if they "hear") he says Loud Sound or Quiet Please (or something to that effect) but if you clap three times he recognizes a pattern and wants to dance.some quick, final replies, and then the hijacking's off ;)
So they store their learning when batteries are out? I saw a reset button but didn't want to push it just in case his memory is stored, and you know, kill off his consciousness or anything.
I had him on a week or two now and he used to be exactly the same and I thought he wasn't learning but when i came back from a weekend away and woke him up he's saying different things.
Guess I should try and clean out the one with the leaked battery damage and see if I can see what he's like.
Did Hasbro buy Tiger Electronics or something? Starlily seems more like an evolution of Furby than earlier FurReal pets.
Grateful for the thread hijack. Now back to your previously scheduled lovable creepy non-furby BBE programming.

Looks like it's piggy ponies then.
Any other adults have such eyes?
