Awesome! That would be so sweet. At a guess they'll make a minifigure pack for each of the Mane Six, and we've got AJ, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle already. This one is probably Rarity.

So, what do you think we'll get for Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie? Mr and Mrs Cake?

Lotus and Aloe are gorgeous ponies.
Here's hoping they're a set ;)
*adds them to list of customs to make*

I think it'd be way cuter to have Pinkie Pie with the baby Cake twins, so adorable!  :lovey:
Or maybe madame leflour etc... rofl
And maybe Fluttershy with Angel and another animal? (haha Iron Will, hilarious!)

Yay! Hopefully this is the other 3 mane characters getting a mini figures set :)

I would guess this will be Rarity's as well...

Ick! No not Iron Will D: If he is in the set then I'll be sure not to get it. They my do Photo Finish though or some random character because I don't think there was many other pony sub-characters Fluttershy interacted with... Where as Pinkie at least has the Cakes and the twins (though I really hope they don't do the twins... I didn't like how newborn/baby ponies were drawn x.x)

The Spa Ponies are amongst my favorite background characters. Here's hoping her sister will also be made.

Heyyyy, Iron Will was amazing! But I think they'd hardly release a mini figure of him.
Photo Finish would be great! Can't really think of a set completer... maybe one of PF's assistants?
For Pinkie, I also vote for the Cakes and agree that the newborns don't look that good and would probably make bad mini figs anyway. Too small *g*

Yes! All of my want!
Though, what is the lighter pink on her manes and tail supposed to be? I'm guessing they tried to make them look highlighted but i don't think any of the other toys have that.

I really do doubt they would do Iron Will, I'd rather someone else XD Mainly because I disliked IW.... plus you guys realize they'd have to make him about as bit as the brushables because IW placed at the same size as the blind bags? Uh unthinkable!

As for the broken leg look on the Spa pony, I thin they were trying to mimic the show more... if you notice the ponies -do- move in impossible ways that isn't logical for ponies XD Even super long legs when they do certain movements XD

Yeah! I'm so happy Hasbro are finally making characters from the show!

These would be beautiful as brushables too!

I wish they would do building to go with the ponyville sized characters .

It's odd that they did this for G3 ponyville but not now when they have so many buildings an d environments that get FiM air time.

They could do so many Twilights Library, Sweet Apple Acres, Sugar cube Corner, Couldsdale, Rairities boutique, a proper Cherillee School house, the cutie mark crusaders club house, Canterlot castle, and even vehicles like celestias carriage etc.

The rep at the fair said they definitely have plans to do more play sets and environments based on the show :) Hopefully she's right, because I agree I'd love to have Twilight's tree house etc. I think I'd jsut about die for a fluttershy house.

I second this!
I wonder why they seem to hesitate on releasing more in-show background ponies as brushables. They have a much better marketability. What kids see in the show is more likely to sell, since it is more recognizable and seems more "legit" than just a random recolor.

I also wonder if they would have ever released background characters without voices, like Lyra Heartstrings, if it wouldn't have been for the vocal FiM fans...

PS: I so would love to have a Bon Bon brushie! C'mon, they just have to make a Bon Bon to accompany Lyra

I wonder, if they did a set with Fluttershy, would she get her own mould? I think it would be pretty sad if all these side characters get their own moulds, but then Fluttershy doesn't... but I really do enjoy that Hasbro's making these, it's nice to see more characters from the show, even just in blindbag style.

this is awesome!! I love that they are doing show accurate mini figures and hope they keep it up. I doubt these will see a brushable release though, as at the fair hasbro said that the ponies catered toward collectors will be mini sized.

Personally, i like the character designed by Hasbro a lot more than the background ponies. Problem with most background ponies is that their design is really "flat". Most have only one mane color and a lot of them are stuck with simple and/or recycled cutie marks. I think some kids prefer eye catching ponies over some random, never talking background pony with an hourglass cutiemark. Also, you're saying the hasbro ponies are "random recolors" while a lot of background ponies really are just recycled/recolored.

Put it this way, ALL ponies are recolors, technically, I never watching too much of the old cartoons, but didn't they all have the same generic mane/tail designs anyway with just different cutie marks, colors, and voices? Same with the toys honestly, unless they make a unique mold for every single pony, they'll always be recolors, regardless of 1 mane color or 6.

Back than it didn't really feel like a "recolor" to me (and it still doesn't). It was just how ponies looked. These days, with characters having more unique hair styles and eyes, it's a lot more obvious when they decided to be lazy with the art work.
During G1 and G2 there was also "hand drawn" art. These days it's a lot more "copy paste" vector stuff.

Thing is with a lot of the G4 ponies in FiM.. not only are they reusing colors for ponies in the background, they reuse symbols. BUT there is a reason for this. Like with a lot of shows/movies that have a large group of background characters, it's easier to duplicate the characters. They did this for movies like Mulan with the Huns on the mountain, and the animators for Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron for the horses in various places. So it's understandable why a lot of background ponies are recycled.. other than the spacial ponies like the Nurse and Spa ponies and such...

BUT back on topic, I like that for the sets they are trying to do new poses for blind bag sizes... however, broken leg poses are still a no-go for me XD

Yeah, you're right.
Let me reword it a bit then: they should at least release the recurring minor/background characters that are'nt just color swaps of each other.
For example: Flitter, Cloudchaser, Thunderlane, Big Mac, the spa sisters, Photo Finish, the Cakes, etc. (+ Bon Bon for me, haha)

I kinda liked what they did with Blossomforth; she got a role in an episode.
At least they should give the toy ponies some background time to incorporate them more.

Well, the thing is, the lack of a name keeps everyone happy, some vague title allows us to think "Oh hey, it MIGHt still be Surprise!" without anyone getting mad that it isn't and says "SUnny SKies" instead or something.

I hope they keep making more characters from the show in this size. I know there's several characters I'd love to see like this. :muffin: Pony, Trixie with her hat & cape, Lyra, Bon Bon, Fleur (I'd really love her), Luna, Braeburn, the CMCs, Silver Spoon & Diamond Tiara, Flitter and Cloud Chaser. There's probably more I can't think of at the moment. I can definitely see these becoming very popular with kids as well as the collectors and bronies that have been wanting more show accurate figures.

On topic, if Hasbro doesn't make Fluttershy her own unique design for the mini pack then that's seriously lazy.

Who wants to bet her name on the package will be "Spa pony" or "Spa sister"?

Kinda like "Wonderbolts Pony" on the Rainbow Dash set? If we're lucky there will be a real name for them, though I hope there isn't a big upset if they aren't called Aloe or Lotus.
Well, the thing is, the lack of a name keeps everyone happy, some vague title allows us to think "Oh hey, it MIGHt still be Surprise!" without anyone getting mad that it isn't and says "SUnny SKies" instead or something.

Does that mean I'm not the only one who thinks the Wonderbolt pony is Surprise (because that's way too lol) and I'm not gonna repaint her as Spitefire? :P
the offichal brony name for the wonderbolt form the pack when she appeared on the show is surprise so your not alone

Oh cool, I never knew that!

i aggree with the fluttershy thing and yeah http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Wonderbolts if you look at the wiki it shows her as surprise from what i know of the wiki they get names submitted for background pony's and the most popular becomes the name on there

I wonder, if they did a set with Fluttershy, would she get her own mould? I think it would be pretty sad if all these side characters get their own moulds, but then Fluttershy doesn't...
Hey, if they're making two molds of Cadance...

I really do doubt they would do Iron Will, I'd rather someone else XD Mainly because I disliked IW.... plus you guys realize they'd have to make him about as bit as the brushables because IW placed at the same size as the blind bags? Uh unthinkable!
I would love Iron Will!  ...But not if they had to shrink him down too much.  Plus, how would they make him stand up on two bull legs?

As for the broken leg look on the Spa pony, I thin they were trying to mimic the show more... if you notice the ponies -do- move in impossible ways that isn't logical for ponies XD Even super long legs when they do certain movements XD
True, it's ridiculous to imagine real ponies twisting their front legs all the way around to carry things, but I think it's a more creative solution than just giving them magic sticky-hooves.

Fluttershy with Photo Finish and...well, I admit, Iron Will would be hilarious.

This. Iron Will was cool. I doubt it though. Could you imagine how hard it woul be to sculpt Iron Will as a blindbag size figure?

Hmmm....I am wondering if they are starting to split the line a little...these blind bag size ponies [with "show accurate" characters and styles - except for FS of course] for the adult collectors and the regular brushables with constant re releases of the main 6 for their actual original market of little girls? I dont mean this is an out and out one direction for one line and one direction for the other, just maybe a subtle angling.

Oh I think they are definitely aiming more for collectors and Bronies with these mini moulded ponies. The blindbags are already quite popular with Bronies but they want show accurate toys. Collectors just want variety and high quality, while little girls want all the main characters to brush, dress, and play.

I have to say though, I'm going to be quite upset if this means we never get variety in the brushables anymore :(  I still dream of a Big Mac brushable, and the spa ponies would be great as brushables too.  *sigh*

Nah, I'm sure we'll get more brushables. I'm hoping for more boy ponies too, as well as background ponies like Seaswirl and Golden Harvest. A FS Trixie would also be wonderful!

Yes Hasbro. A Fashion Style Trixie (with cape and hat) would make a lot of us happy, including those who could not get ahold of a SDCC Ditzy.  What do you say TRU?

Yes I would be disappointed with this as well...I just wonder if its an indication that we will get limited numbers of "new brushables" and the desire for new characters will be fulfilled, though what is essentially ponyville!

Its August in a few days and so far in 2012, if we exclude the glimmer wings and the playset ponies, we have technically only seen 6 new brushable characters...Diamond Rose, Cherry Pie and the Lyra, Trixie, Sunny, Cherry Set. Thats even less that we got 2010/2011...so far 2011/2012 has been woeful for brushables. :(

Oh yes, Hathorcat!  :cloud: Alot of people have just settled on making their own brushables or ordering from customizers because of the lack of new characters in the brushable line...I suppose they make more money on the $2 blind bags over all when a mother can buy three at a time or one per A test score or something like that and still keep the child entertained instead of waiting weeks for one new $6 toy...but the toy isles everywhere I go are just...barren. Anytime a new brushable (even the glimmer wings) goes up for sale, it sells within a week. That's two boxes per store at the least (at least for the chain stores) and only the mane six are left there to sit for ages. The only store around that has sold many of the duplicate mane six is one walmart close to my house and I am convinced either another collector or customizer is in my area because each time it is only Fluttershy and Rarity (easier to do FBR or just symbols) that are missing while there are close to twenty of the others still left on the shelf. :/ So in essence, Hasbro would MAKE money by making more new characters besides the mane 6 because everyone including the children, adult collectors, and bronie collectors are waiting for some new face to add to their collection.

Eh, i disagree with that. Why would kids not want little figurines of the characters from the show? G3 had an entire line of full plastic mini ponies and playsets. Those seemed pretty darn popular. So why would they not do the same with G4? During core 7 ponyville stuff was a lot more interesting than the brushable stuff too. The fact that bronies/collectors like them is just an added bonus.

I am not saying its a blatant split in the line with the ponyville being marketed and created just for adult collectors. All I am saying is I think perhaps they are using the ponyville line for the demand for show accurate [and moulded hair] items. Lets face it the ponyville size line now has more show relevant characters than the brushables [this most recent playful pony wave with Trixie, Lyra etc and the Collectors Set are the first attempt to match show to toys outside the main 6, at least within the brushable wave]. And with many of the new collectors being more interested in show relevant rather than random brushables toys such as Dewdrop Dazzle or Honeybuzz, perhaps the ponyville line plugs a couple of gaps for HB? i.e show relevant toys suitable for little girls and boys who want accuracy as well as adult collectors who only want toys which are from the show. Not to mention the sheer volume of blind bag characters also fulfils the demand for simply "more characters" which we are lacking in brushables. Meanwhile the brushable line can continue to be as focused on the main 6 in various incarnations, with the odd additional pony thrown in.

This whole theory will of course be disproved if the next wave of brushables turns out to have more show relevant characters again :)

More of less, yes, but the fact that Shining Armor is a bit smaller than all the other boys makes me chuckle! In my display I surrounded him with all the other boys and I imagine his worried expression is now saying "Why am I lacking?" XD

I like her colours.  I would so make a Bowtie out of one lol.  Her front leg looks a bit wonky to me, but I know in the show those ponies can manipulate their limbs in all sorts of unnatural ways (like the Tales ponies did :P )    On another note, I love that they're using a different eye shape for an earthy!  They all seem to have circular eyes, so it's really cool to see a different (uni) shape for an earth pony!

Variety based on personalities based on popularity. If only they start realizing this WHILE actively creating more products with said variety.

Me too!! I would love a fleur and fancy pants in any shape or form but I really do love the size of the FS so a giant spa pony would be sooo neat!
