How do you tie tail ribbons correctly? I haven't been able to figure it out.

Hmmm...I just tie them as I would a regular bow...but sometimes without the initial knot...I wasnt aware there was a fancy way to do it! *Sits back and awaits instruction...*

I find if you do the "bunny goes round the tree and into the hole" it lies a bit squewy but if you do the bunny ears and tie together they lie more flat.  Also make sure you have them flat together as you tie them.  Best is to try different ways and see what works for you.

This is how I'd describe it. There was a book I checked out from the library at one point on making gift boxed and it had a section on tying ribbon and such... I didn't scan that page though...

Thanks, Chrissytree. I'd been making the mistake of tying a simple knot in the ribbon before doing the bunny ears instead of just going straight to them.

Also try pulling the ends into a cross shape as you start.  Make the first bunny ear from the bottom side and the bow should stick out evenly on the ends without being all twisted.  :)

You can also have a simple knot first but you need to do it like a wreath knot, so the simple with "left over right and under" then the bunny ears "right over left and under" :)

Agree, bunny ears makes it lie flatter at the end.  Also try to loop the right 'ear' round the back of the left and under rather than round the front (hope that makes sense!)

Wow.  I really had no idea there was a *correct* way to tying ribbons.

Learn something new everyday.  :)
