Title: Before and After - Baby Ember (Ember's Dream) from Taffeta

Hi all, I did a bit of work on Ember. Taffeta kindly let me buy her to add to my collection. I restored her forelock, her DS symbol and eyes and removed pindot and some yellowing. I haven't tried to make her perfect, for example I don't like sunfading for more than a day or two so she still has some yellowing. I also think her eye paint was a bit lumpy anyway so I just worked around it. I didn't overfill her replacement plugs I just concentrated on making them look 'natural'. Do you think the forelock looks good? Let me know what you think.

wow she looks super nice now :)

how did you remove the yellowing? Ive found it particular hard to do on purple ponies...

She looks so much happier now. I swear that she looks like she's smiling. You've done a great job with her :) Thank you for rescuing her and giving her a new lease of life :lovey:

Cool, thank you. I used magic eraser and then left her for a day on each side in the sun. She's still a little bit pinker than I'd like and a little uneven in tone. But hopefully she looks a bit more gently played with now :)

Yes I agree, a slightly relieved smile I fancy. She's definitely shelf worthy as far as I'm concerned, I'm really pleased to have her. Thank you.

Sounds great :) I thought leaving a purple pony in the sun would cause only more yellowing,. Good to know that yu can do that :D Will try, hehe!

I worry that it might do in the long run which is why I only do a day on each side. It seems to 'freshen up' the colour a little. The yellowing could be caused by more than one chemical reason, I don't know. I'm getting my collection down from the loft this weekend (for summer) and I have a record of the ponies that I've sunfaded and for how long, so if I find anything interesting when I do a condition check I'll let you know.

Well, its totally worth a try, I have a really yellowed Baby Glider (head only though lol) so whatever happens she cant get worse :P

YAY!  Restoration jobs make me so happy.  It is so wonderful to see old ponies being pampered and showered with TLC until they look young and clean again.  She looks great!  Good job  :)
