Title: A Ponies Tail
Post by: Gator on May 29, 2019, 01:01:02 PM
I've never canniabalized one G1 pony for another, but I have a tailless Baby Moondancer and Baby Sleepyhead.  I recently came across a chewed on Bowtie.  Sadly, I fear her life is over.  I think she would only be good for a customizer now.  I've removed her tail and want to split it between the two babies.  I don't want to remove their heads (though something is rattling around in Moondancer).  What should I do?  Just shove the new tails in best I can and just be careful handling them here on out?

Hmmm . . . it seems to me that you should be able to insert a tail in through the tail hole in such a way that it stays in place.  I think the trick would be using something soft that could be folded up to get it in through the hole, yet would expand once it was in there.  Like do they make washers out of rubber or soft plastic?

Just a thought!

I've been able to cram a zip tie into a tail hole while the plastic was still soft without needing the neck, but it's not the sturdiest. I think you might want to look into a plastic or rubber washer as LadyMoondancer said.

Not to usurp your post but I'm totally interested in the chewed up pony.

You could use/create washers for the split tails that look like a tube, with a diameter that is the same size (or less) as the tail hole, but longer in length. Like the endings of shoelaces. When putting them in through the tail hole, you will push them in as you would put it if it was an "insert the fitting object" game. It will go in, but if you pull on that half of the tail that went in first, the tube will turn about 90 degrees, and you won't be able to pull it out so easily anymore.

(I hope  my explanation makes sense - I'm not sure I was able to express myself clearly  )
