Title: Who was in your childhood herd of ponies

Cotton Candy, Medley, Moonstone, the party gift set ponies. Wavedancer, Baby Surfy, Baby Misty, Mirror Mirror, Twinkler, Sugarberry, Coco Berry, Sweet Pop, Baby Noddins, Baby Gusty, Baby Half Note and the Baby Bonnet School of Dance, Baby Tiddley Winks and the Lullabye Nursery, Baby Sleepy Pie and the purse, Baby Palm Tree, Pina Colada, Starshine, Baby Pearly, Quarterback, Braided Beauty, Princess Serena, Dream Beauty Song Rider and some petite ponies. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. :)

But that was my childhood collection.

My sister had about 20 ponies as well, between 1990 and 1993, some of which were second hand. She had Fizzy, Sprinkles, Spring Song, Starglow, Mainsail, Baby Sister Bright Bouquet, Baby Tic Tac Toe, Baby Tiddly Winks, Baby Katie, Baby Meadowsweet, Stargaze, Baby Sunbright, Hip Hop, Baby Sweet Steps, Baby Toe Dancer, Little Honey Pie and some others I don't remember without checking...

I've since then reobtained Fizzy, Whizzer, Dazzle Glow, Sweet Pop, Dancing Butterflies and Gusty. I still need Mirror Mirror, Princess Tiffany, Moondancer, Shady, Salty and Windy.

I am SO SURE I had the adorable Gusty but cannot remember/find her in my original storage boxes :freak:

My friends had Bubbles, Applejack, Show Stable, Blossom, sea ponies (I never saw them in my local shop otherwise I would have begged my Mum to buy one for me) and we used to play with our shared herds.

- - - then I "grew up" and didn't play with my toys... I would see ponies, Show Stables etc at boot sales and would get a nostalgia rush, and a big temptation to buy them but would move on and search through old 60s/70s vinyl LPs instead (I was/am heavily into music). Oh, to have a time machine! :argh:

To date:
A few years ago nostalgia bit me on the bottom; I saw the 25th anniversary releases in TRU but only the earth CP ponies... so did not buy... then I started seeing the odd pony here and there in charity shops/boots... a few years later, I bought a few off Ebay... more recently (thanks to my interested child!) a lot more have been bought. :good: :enthralled: :silly:

I forgot to mention some of my ponies

Honeysuckle, Rosedust (I traded some Micro Beauties for her) SS Twilight (she stayed at my grandparents house) Summer Wing Skydancer.

I lost my childhood baby sea ponies and adult Wave Dancer to mold because I played with them in the bathtub. When I got the party gift set my mom told be I couldn't put Baby Celebrate in the tub.

I think Strawberry Fair is a nice name and suits her better than Sugarberry.

Cookies for you :D I love her name. My Dad played lots of folkish music as a kid and I always thought that Strawberry Fair was a kind of pony joke on Scarborough Fayre...though it probably wasn't ;)

Bow Tie, SS Shady were the first... from there the order's fuzzy! I also had Big Top and Toppy, Foamy the seapony, Nightglider and TAF Buttons, Princess Sparkle, Cocoberry and Peppermint Crunch... Braided Beauty and Honeysuckle the flutter pony (who was my only garage sale pony). And Sand Digger! She was my last store bought pony :(

Doh. Ok, just checked a photo - I also had Little Flitter - how could I forget her!

I think that's all of them! And I'm going to sneak in that the first pony I bought as an adult collector was Powder :inlove:

I know I had some princesess - I think definitely Princess Pearl and maybe another one, though I don't remember having any of the dragons apart from Spike. I remember playing with lots of others but my cousin and my friends all had ponies, so I don't know if the others I can think of were theirs.

Sea pony Wave Dancer, baby Moondancer, Applejack were my sisters.
Mine were Windy, Pinwheel, Magic Star, Paradise, Blueberry Baskets, Raspberry Jam, Boysenberry Pie, MO Starhopper, MO Clipper. There may have been a couple others but I can't remember.

My mom bought me the cheaper fakies more. But out of the real stuff I had a styling size Rainbow Dash and a Ponyville series Scootaloo with her cute little scooter. I still have them and am not planning to give them up :)

I was 11-ish if it was 1999). As you can see, they're roughly arranged by set; I had found Dream Valley by then and was learning about their releases and proper names (before that I had called them whatever I wanted, since most were secondhand.) My very first ponies were Glory and Peachy, at the same time.

These are the ponies both my sister and I owned; our collection was always conjoined. Baby Ribbs is the first pony I bought online and you can see him in the bottom right; Baby Paws and Baby Glory were also new online purchases at the time.

Me, too. I do remember buying a few in stores when I was very young (two Baby Honey Pies, sparkle Baby Firefly and Baby Gusty, a few others), but I have more memories of buying them in thrift stores or receiving them from my parents.

My mom would give me and my sister ponies at the same time, too. :) I got Applejack when my sister got Butterscotch; I got Chief when my sister got a fakie, I think (I remember feeling kind of bad for her)

Then the TLCAN was on the 90s so many toys started to cross the border.

I used to have fewer when I was a child, I guess no more than 60 and have got other 80s toys.
I wasnt collecting as much as I do now.
I remembered I used to love them and start collecting on 2010.
When I got my first job and discovered I could look for them at stores or fleamarkets.

They were well loved by the time that I got them. I do still have them though. Lickety Split, cotton candy, and most of the others from that set that came with Cotton Candy. And one mail order Birthflower pony. I was lucky and able to get the four little glitter baby ponies. A few other little baby ponies, Serbert and The pink pony with the soda. And towards the very end I was able to get the Soda shop with Scoops and the mail order mommy and baby. But dumb me sold the mommy and baby pony a while back. I hope to get them again someday! :)

Very sad that I gave away the last of my childhood ponies when I was 13. I started collecting ponies when I was 18, soooo regretted not having any of my childhood herd left. :/
