Title: Is anyone else bothered by this?

Hasbro keeps making the Luna toys purple.

And not to mention her mane is completely off.

Her cutie mark is also wrong from what I've seen, it's a pink moon with a purple patch around it yet in the show it's white with a black patch around it.

Her eyes also seem slightly more green, not sure if that's just me though.

I adore Luna's dark blue coloring in the show, I wish it could be that nice on the toys.

I don't care that much about show accurancy and i do think she looks nice that way.
So no, i'm not bothered by it.

I think toy Luna is gorgeous but...I also really, really love the shades of blue she is in the show. I'd like to see both versions

Yes, very.

If she were the only purple pony we'd ever seen, then I'm certain I wouldn't be bothered by it. But there's loads of purple ponies out there, and I don't believe there's a brushable with Luna's current shade of blue.

I'm not super bothered by it, although a Luna toy that is show accurate would be gorgeous.

The thing is, she is pretty close to show accurate...however it's based on her first appearance, after she is released from her state as Nightmare Moon. I wonder if she was originally supposed to stay that pale purple color?

It does bother me to some degree, but then again, her shades of purple are very nice and it's easy to forget that she's not supposed to be that way when you're playing with her. I've yet to see many customs that can pull off the dark blue colour and still look nice.

I agree with you- its kind of frustrating, but at the same time I don't mind it too much. I was more annoyed this Pinkestia.

LOL!  I've never even *seen* an episode of FiM, so to me, she's supposed to be purple!  I had no idea she was inaccurate!

I'm not at all concerned with "show accuracy" so no. Her toys are very pretty. I was never bothered by pink Celestia either though, so.

There is that, too =/ She's not even the only purple princess now with Twi about.

I watch the show and I didn't notice that her toy color wasn't accurate. Pink Celestia bothered me, though. I wanted the WHITE winged unicorn!

I would like a show accurate Luna, sure! I'm not bothered by her coloring though. I like her toy as it is, separate from the show. Just like all the others.

They should make an accurate Luna for a Favorites Pack though. Imagine that, a royalty pack (Whitelestia, Accurate Luna, Correct winged Twilight in her own mold, corrected gradient Cadance, A new Shining Armor *dreams*)

I was because white Celestia is SO PRETTY. I love white ponies. Anyway, Pinklestia is cute in her own right. She feels like a MLP that way. I like them both. I was happy when they made her white for the Crystal line. I was happy with her cute Pink booty too.

I honestly do prefer white Celestia! Especially the deluxe version with the blush (reminds me of blush on G1s!). But when it seemed like Pinklestia was going to be the Hasbro norm, I wasn't as bothered as some.

It doesn't bother me one bit, mostly due to the fact Luna is actually purple.. even after season 1 she is purple. Hasbro just kind of chose to try and match the color from Season 1. Have we even seen a really dark purple pony other than Nightmare Moon (and yes NM is purple in the toy and not black.. at least the one from the favorites pack). We got to look at a few things when it comes to color.. Some colors are just not easy to get due to the kinds of dyes and chemicals that have to be use. Some might not be safe to use really so that is why some of the ponies are not the colors they should be.

Her cutie mark is also wrong from what I've seen, it's a pink moon with a purple patch around it yet in the show it's white with a black patch around it.
As for this, her symbol I think is actually white, it's the glitter that is put on that make it look pink.. I should know my DJ has that problem. As far as the rest of the symbol, I don't know.

I see Luna more as very dark blue. Even the wiki shows her coat color as simply "dark blue".

Not sure about that because the McDonald's Luna has no glitter but another pink moon.

I've not seen the McD toy but they aren't official, just licensed.

On my MLP cup, Luna is purple with blue hair. Dull sky blue hair. And not even the flowy mane, just an amped up version of her S1 mane and I like it. (I like the artwork for Celestia too, with the nonmagicflowing mane. Its more pony and more beautiful IMO. Cadence's hair is the best in the show I think. I digress, this isn't about hair haha)..

I think what we have is pretty, but I would still prefer her to be dark blue with the royal blue/lavender hair not just because it's show accurate, but because I think it would be prettier and more unique. But I'm a little biased...blue IS my favorite color...

Hmmm, I think Luna is actually a dark blue-violet color in the show.  It has a touch of purple/violet in with the blue so seeing her in this very purple color doesn't bother me that much.  In some screencaps she even looks like she is a dark dusky gray-plum color.

Her hair shouldn't be so purple though.

Shades of blue tend to be seen differently by different people.  Especially when they have a tint of another color in it like Lyra's ice/mint blue/green color or Luna's violet/gray/blue color.  Some people see the color variations better than others and will notice the subtle differences.

Yeah, I agree, she does have a slight purpley shade to her, but still, she's much closer to blue than her toy is.

I must agree that her color is not what is bothering me but rather the horrible horrible shades of purple in the various plastics that never seem to match. I guess I'm accepting that this is how "accurate" hasbro can be in terms of their toys.

It doesn't bother me because she is a mass produced toy designed for children to play with. Not too many children care about the finer details. When she is made into an adult collectible, like a Funko, then she will probably be in show accurate colors, and that's really the only time it will be necessary.

I don't mind, she looks nice like this. I'm not at all a "show accurate" person though, so maybe that's why :p.

Not me.  I don't watch the show.  I just have a few G4s to round out my collection, which includes that Luna that came with Rarity.

What does bother me is my Luna's head is already discolored and doesn't match her body -_-

I don't mind it that much, since it's somewhat closer to her S1 design, which I prefer to her current look, not to mention the toys are really cute. I guess it's for the same reason Celestia was made pink, to get her in a girlier color so kids would buy them. Still, there'll probably be a much more accurate Luna figure for older MLP fans, due to her overwhelming popularity in the fandom. I'll bet the first Princess (besides Twilight) Funko releases will be Luna, so at least you have that.

My daughter hasn't mentioned that she's the "wrong" color, and given that she's the target market, I'm not bothered.

However, I do wish she was dark blue simply because MLP has an overabundance of pink and purple, and her show colors are so perfect for a Princess of the Night.

I actually copied the screen shot from the FiM wiki and Luna's color does in fact fall in the purple color of a blue range, but still purple.. some episodes she might appear to be blue because of the lighting.. in Luna Eclipse she looks blue because it's dark out... but in various other places she is in fact purple :)

Now I do notice the FiM Wiki says she is a Dark Blue.. but to me it still looks purple

Like I said I will admit that her color is in a blue range but I found that tones can really make color ranges look very different, the bottom of this picture has her color from the top set compared to the color from two night scenes.. I really don't think Hasbro can actually make her look right so they go with what is close in color

I wonder if that dye isn't very easy to use with the plastic that G4s are made of?  I mean, there is only one dark dark blue G1 pony...

I do think they have a hard time getting certain colors and keeping the toy 'chemically' safe

Luna's toys look like Twilight Sparkle from the show, because Twilight's toys are in a nearly pink in  shade  just look at her first styling alicorn toy and compare her to Cadance's color shade

It drives me up the wall. I really would like for them to release her with a darker blue.

Not in the slightest. I actually dont understand the obsession with show accuracy so as long as she is pretty and I like her design I am happy :)
