As is usually the case, I have a bad habit of getting the IDW MLP comics in batches every few months instead of getting the new ones every time. I got a bunch today (from 3 places). While I was looking for the new ones in one Ebay store, I saw some G1 "annuals". Intrigued I got a couple (the 87' was $5.50 and the 94' was $3.50). Was expecting something comic related, but they are more like a comp of short stories. The 87' is the best one.

The annuals are sort of comic related. They're British and they came out every year between around 1985-6 and 1994. The style of stories in them is the same as in the G1 comics that were out here between those years as well, so it was like an end of year/new year kind of release. Often in time for Christmas but they'd be dated to the next year, so 1987 came out at Christmas 1986 and featured the ponies available in the UK in 1986 (plus some that weren't but we had them in our stories anyway)
Congrats on your new additions :D I'm glad you enjoyed them - and the older ones are definitely better :D
Good luck if you decide to hunt down any of the others :D
There's also a big compendium book of stories which I believe are all harvested from the comic (biggest book of stories or something). But the style of story etc in the annuals is basically the same (esp the 87 one) as the comic of the time.

Love those original annuals. I don't think I've seen either of them before  The comics look great. I am always so impressed by the quality of the graphics in them. Nice score :frolic:
