This round will incorporate the buddy system. Similar to a swap,, you will be assigned a buddy at random. It will be your duty to help you buddy through this journey. This maybe sending messages privately, promoting their posts, or anything you feel will help each other out. This is not a swap. So if you and your buddy want to do anything that has monetary value to it, it is a private swap and not healthy pony is not responsible. I as the host will help you if something arises, but mods should be notified first. What tends to happen is posting on the forum goes on the way side. Now you have a buddy checking on you, or updating us on well their buddy is doing. Basically your job as a buddy is to keep your partner positive as they go through Healthy Pony.

There will be prizes!!!

1. Posting prize! Including your sign up, I will be writing your screen name on a numbered notebook. Then I will do a random number generator to pick out winner. The more you post, the more chances you have to win.

2. Miss/Mister Congeniality Healthy Pony. This pony is voted by the group through private message. They are a pony who cheered others on, stayed posting, and did the best at reaching their goals.

If you would like to add a contest or prize they are open:) there can be no shipping restrictions, I need to know what contest or prize you want to add. Posting here is perfectly fine. Those donating prizes are doing this as a kindness:)

How to sign up. I will use myself as an example.

What are your dream goals.
(You can have as many or little as you want. They just need to be obtainable at some point. Can't lose 500 pound in 3 months safely, but losing 500 is a dream and now you can chip at it for 3 months)

What are your dream goals?
1. Have a weight of 130 pounds.
2. Have 10 craft items ready to ship/Ebay consistently.
3. Practice piano daily and feel confidant to play again

What can you accomplish in 3 months? (This is to break your dream into tiny pieces. This is to promote positive progression. Tiny goal is to work out once a week. But you got up to two days a week. That means you accomplished your one day a week and progressed to two. That will help chip away at losing 500 pound goal.

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
1. To be active daily. I can walk, work out, or anything that gets me active. My next  step is lengthen or create a higher level of difficulty.
2. To work on any of my knitting projects 3 times a week. My goal is daily. My goal is to create consistancy.
3. Try to play the piano once a week. I have a wedding to play for next year, so I have to really get going.

Buddy System questions
1. Can you handle more than one buddy at this time?
(be honest. As the host I take on any list buddies:)
2. Buddies can agree to other terms, but that is a private agreement and not considered a swap. Please be respectful of each others wishes.
3. Buddy System is mostly private messages and posting in forum. That is really all you are required to do.
4. If you feel your buddy is in need of attention, please message me. This is a support system:)

Please give me any questions:)

Sign Up Healthy Buddy System

What are your dream goals?

What can you accomplish in 3 months?

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?

*this is a guideline. If you need to adjust for you, go for it:)

Let's reach our goals together!!!!

Hooray! A buddy will definitely keep me posting.

What are your dream goals?
1. Clean and maintain my bedroom, it's in much disarray.
2. Do well this semester and be more studious in general.
3. Be more active and gain some muscle on my arms, as well as building my stamina.
4. Be a little more plant-based and eat proper meals. I've got a strange relationship with breakfast.
What can you accomplish in 3 months?
1. Go through one area every week and de-clutter/organize completely.
2. Keep up with my homework in school as it comes (comes into play August 23rd). I'll be buying a Surface Go to assist in this.
3. Do something active at least once every other day. Walking the dog or just walking outside, doing some push-ups or a little 5-minute routine counts. I plan to work up to once a day.
4. Eat a filling breakfast (not a granola bar) at least the days before school.
Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
I'd prefer to have just one buddy.  :)

Banditpony you made an awesome point. I made a point to say your goals/paths do not have to be what is put forward.

You have a great system and I respect anyone who feels having buddy might be too much is ok:)

Oh what is Matsuricon?

What are your dream goals?
Reaching my pre-pregnancy weight of 140.  130 would be better but might be unrealistic!  Would prefer to weigh MORE with MORE muscle mass!  Yeah!
Having "Me time" that is earlier than midnight!
Better relationship with my in-laws
Learn sign language
Be more social/less introverted

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
Lose 5-7 pounds
Some kind of exercise once a week (hard to do with an infant and toddler in tow!)
Find time to work on crafts/ponies/reading/whatever I want a few hours a week.
Finish my current quiet book craft.
Reach out/take initiative to text/call/Facebook post/visit my husband's family and my brother's GF once a week.
Research an ASL (American Sign Language) course to take in a year or two.  My husband grew up signing (and remembers quite a bit).  We want to teach it to our kids.
More social/less introverted- Already doing it!  Signed up for Healthy Pony AND a book swap on Facebook... on the SAME DAY!  That's big for me.  Try to continue with similar activities once to twice a month.

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
Sure!

I think I have a few things I could donate as prizes.  So, that's another goal... finding them!  LOL!

Aadra, welcome aboard!!!!

You have some awesome goals, and got a great start on them!!! Well done. Keep us posted on how you like the swaps! I want to host a craft swap, but need a bit more free time:)

Alrighty, let me copy/paste:

What are your dream goals for 2018:
1. Food budget
2. Exercise plan
3. Employment or Student Life
4. Yard Sale to clear the shed
5. Built-in bookshelves wrapped around living room

What can you accomplish in 3 months? This is your chance to break your dream goals into tiny pieces. Once that tiny goal is reached you can adjust it, so you get closer to that dream goal.
1. Find a routine mealprep so we have a calendar and an inventory. Maintain $150/person/month!  (doing well at ~$165/pp)
2. Setting up *some* kind of social media presence.
3. A regular login and practice of my Spanish on Duolingo...

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
If necessary, yes.  :)

I think that’s all that really matters!  I mean, even you don’t accomplish what you wanted to, you aren’t a failure.  You just succeeded at different stuff!  Like, going to work, caring for your dog, cooking a meal... whatever!

You don't have to set crazy goals..
I'm not sure what you have in mind for what your goals for,
but even if you took 15 minutes out of every week to do something toward your goal-- that's something -- and something is better than nothing!

Baby steps are ok. And you don't have to have a partner, we all will support you -- if you want to try this round.

Banditpony and Aadra are the reasons I do healthy pony:) it's the love and support for all participants.

No buddy is required. I ask so no one feels obligated.

Banditpony is right, all goals are important no matter how tiny. 15min a day for something positive is a great start.

Trying to start early, too. Tried to eat some greek yogurt...can't stand the aftertaste. Not good at all! I'll have to find some other good breakfast foods that don't need much prep outside of sugary cereals.

What about oatmeal?

You can do big batches of old fashioned oatmeal (better than instant), and freeze small portions.

I've been eating an avocado for breakfast. If you have a trader joes near you, they have mini ones! (Sometimes the normal ones are too much, ya know). Downside is that they can be expensive.

Or you can look for a easy meal prep breakfast burrito recipe that fits your tastes. prep in advance and freeze.. pop one out and put in microwave for like 5 minutes. bam. done.

Hooray! I think I have the motivation to keep myself organized this time.

What are your dream goals?
1. To get back on track with my healthier eating and exercise. A few years ago I started going to a nutrition clinic and joined a gym. I lost fifty of the 150 pounds I gained when I was very depressed. I’m not saying I’ll drop 100 pounds in three months or even a lot quickly, but I would like to get back on track of working it out.

2. Organization! I let myself fall out of habit some when my depression hit a low point not long ago. I need to reorganize my house and I always keep stuff at work organized. I want to try a different system this year. Again, this will just be making small changes and not huge things in one day.

3. Get back to budgeting and adjust to my new needs. I had a pet with health issues, actually a few this last year since (I take in many animals with genetic issues ) that ran up my credit cards. I want to budget out where I can slowly start paying those down to their normal rates.

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
I think I probably explained more than needs above but let’s see
1. Plan meals and start using a way to record them like Myfitnesspal. Attempt to incorporate more exercise like taking my new husky on walks since she loves them.

2. Organizes the rooms and things in my house in a new way since I want it done and work on making new plans at work. I’m keeping this vague because it’s a big task so unsure how far I’ll get.

3. Budget my expenses and get my credit card paid back down.

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
I would prefer one but can handle more than one if it’s needed.

Tailrustedtealeaf for breakfast I get these cookie like things called Belvita or Fiber One. I can eat on the go and I get a variety of flavors so I am not board.

Welcome to the party Maddie. I have to get my post list going so I am on it for the post drawing:)

I am 162 pounds. My first goal is 158. 4 pounds. Simple goal but I have a bonus of trying on close that might fit me. I put the clothes in a special area of the closet so I see it daily and I made it so neat to look at that I hope I can reach the 4 pound lost soon!

I hope I can plant my butt on my piano bench today:)

Oo, I didn't think about freezing it!
And mini avocados would be good for toasts, thank you for the reminder!
And Crowning Glory, the cookies are a good idea to just have on hand. I've been relying on protein bars but I'd feel like I ate a better breakfast if I made something myself.  :P

I make breakfast sandwiches because I cannot stand oatmeal or greek yogurt or avocados.  :)  It's an afternoon of prep work but it pays off.  I also have a really good recipe for HEALTHY cereal bars rather than pay for all the packaging wrappers in a branded box.

DH has assembled the first pieces necessary for the bookshelves.  Lots of work!  we have 8 foot ceilings and a wall about 19.5 feet long... I have a sneaky suspicion that I might own more books than will fit... but I'm not telling him that yet LOL

I tried some Spanish yesterday, which actually meant crawling under my desk and untangling cords until I learned why my microphone wasn't working.  :(

Ooo care to share? P:

I've been making my own energy bars because... I'm poor. lol. Just nuts and dried fruits in the vitamix. Still expensive, but eh. I usually eat them for an afternoon pick me up, rather than a breakfast though

source: https://smittenkitchen.com/2008/09/raspberry-breakfast-bars/

Raspberry Crumb Breakfast Bars
SERVINGS: 12 TO 24, DEPENDING ON HOW YOU CUT THEM TIME: 1 HOUR SOURCE: BAKED: NEW FRONTIERS IN BAKING
FOR THE CRUST AND CRUMB
1 1/2 cups (190 grams) all-purpose flour
1 cup (190 grams) firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 1/4 (120 grams) cups rolled oats
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks, 170 grams) unsalted butter, cut into 1-inch pieces
FOR THE RASPBERRY FILLING:
1/4 cup (50 grams) firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons (15 grams) all-purpose flour
1 pound (455 grams) raspberries, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons (30 grams) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
Make the crust and crumb: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter the bottom and sides of a 9-by-13-inch glass or light-colored metal baking pan. Put a long piece of parchment paper in the bottom of the pan, letting the parchment extend up the two short sides of the pan and overhang slightly on both ends. (This will make it easy to remove the bars from the pan after they have baked.) Butter the parchment.
Put the flour, brown sugar, oats, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon in a food processor. Pulse in short bursts until combined. Add the butter and pulse until loose crumbs form.

Reserve 1 1/2 cup of the mixture and set aside. (Note: The book suggests you reserve one cup only. My gut told me that was too little, and I upped it. I wanted to make sure the top of the raspberries were mostly covered, at least for packing purposes, and was glad I had changed it.) Pour the rest of the mixture into the prepared pan and use your hans or the back of a large wooden spoon to push the crust into an even layer at the bottom of the pan. The crust should touch the sides of the pan. Bake until golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let the crust cool. Keep the oven on while you make the raspberry filling.

Make the raspberry filling: In a medium bowl, whisk the sugar, lemon zest, cinnamon and flour together. Add the raspberries, lemon juice and butter and use your hands to toss gently until the raspberries are evenly coated.

Assemble and bake the bars: Spread the raspberry filling evenly on top of the cooled crust. Sprinkle the reserved crust mixture evenly on top of the filling.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, rotating the pan every 15 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the filling starts to bubble around the edges.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, then cut into squares and serve. The bars can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to two days.

I freeze them and eat them frozen - so yummy!  Also if you save more crumble for the topping and run it through a blender, it works much more like a cereal bar/fig newton than a streuselly, crumbly-top.  I have also used a number of different substitutions in this recipe, different fruits, whole wheat flour vs. white flour, it seems to be pretty versatile.  I don't know if you can use stevia or honey instead of the brown sugar, though, I think chemistry-wise you need the molasses within the brown sugar to make it set properly.

Gonna give this a try

What are your dream goals?
1. Get myself to eat at least one meal per day; ideally, would like to get to the point of eating three meals a day. Also, need to add more meat to my diet. (doctor's orders)
2. Organize and declutter my house.
3. Get outdoors and get active. Jogging, exercising, walk the dog, whatever.

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
1. I'm thinking of adding one meal per month. Start the first month with making myself eat one meal per day. Increase to two on the second month, three the third month.
2. I'd like to tackle the rooms in my house one at a time and declutter, clean, and organize each one. I just want a clutter-free home before the holidays.
3. This will be the toughest one as I have no motivation to leave the house. I'm gonna start small and work my way up.

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
I'd prefer one, but can handle more if it would make things easier for everyone else.

What are your dream goals?
1. Reach 20% body fat
2. Have a 3D printing side business
3. Practice cello 3x week and feel comfortable playing in public

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
1. Recover from my sprained lower back. Things are going to progress SLOWLY until I'm certain I won't have a relapse. I'm definitely working on cleaning up the diet, since that doesn't take too much physical activity.
2. Practice modeling 30 minutes once a week, working my way up to three times a week and printing a new model every other week
3. Practice cello 30 minutes once a week, not including lessons, working the way up to three times a week by the end of the three months

Buddy System questions
1. Can you handle more than one buddy at this time?
Probably not yet, but I can definitely do one!

Post Merge: August 06, 2018, 07:27:10 PM

For prizes, I can contribute a custom cross stitch pony headshot coaster. I have original patterns for the G4 Mane 6 and can do any of the G1, including Twinkle Eyes. If the winner prefers a different G4, I can do up a pattern, but I'll need a reference image. I'm not as familiar with G4 characters.

I am fine with shipping internationally.

Yeah, new people joining!  Great to read about your goals!!

Not to bring it down but I’m kinda bummed.  Joined a book swap on Facebook (it’s a chain thing so you have to recruit your friends and they in turn recruit theirs).  I joined because I’m super introverted and was just trying to do something outside of my comfort zone.  No one joined under me.  Man, I know I shouldn’t take that personally but it’s a punch in the gut and takes me straight back to high school.  I was ignored in high school which was an improvement from middle school where I was bullied.  This stuff sticks with you, my friends.

I'm so sorry that happened to you Aaadra.

I was also ignored in high school. I really wanted friends to hang out and do stuff with but for some reason most of the kids decided they didn't like me and I was lucky if anyone sat with me at lunch or even said hi. There were a few classmates that had birthdays close together (including me) and it was rare anyone remembered mine at school despite me saying "It's my birthday today."  A few people posted on Facebook recently how fun high school was and how much fun they had hanging out together. It brought back all of those feelings of being ignored and loneliness for me.

What a bummer Aadra..
But high 5 for you for trying.
I am too scared of the feeling of rejection to even try. :(

I think I want to add a 1 a day sketch (or idea) journal to my goals. Like to do it and feel comfortable again with a pencil. I'm not the best artist but I'm an ok artist and giving up before I try has hurt my skills.

Got hit by a GI bug last night, so I'm laid up in bed again. Bleh. I'm starting to hate this piece of furniture. On the bright side, my back is still feeling decent so I should be able to get to work tomorrow. Test-drive to the doctor later this morning to get the work paperwork completed.

Aadra, it's great that you gave it a try! I try to remember that in cases like that, it's just a bit of unfortunate circumstance. Am I glad I'm out of highschool at this point! I was pretty lonely.
Banditpony, that sounds like a nice way to unwind! You could do a lot of fun with that. Drawing with a pencil for fun is very relaxing.
Shatyr, I hope you feel better by tomorrow!

I was able to make it to the doctor and walked slowly around Target some, but now I'm just exhausted and feeling weak. I'm hoping this won't carry over to work, I don't exactly have a bed or couch to collapse on if I get tired.

Hi.  I'd like to join.  Not sure if all my goals are realistic or just "dream goals".

A little more about me:
I work 40+hr/wk, when i come home its my tutn to watch the baby.  I've gained so much weight gorging indulging & enjoying every craving and/or yummy food I want.  I eat even when I'm not hungry just to eat it bc it's tasty.  I think its also a personal struggle with accepting my new body after having a baby.  My babys been going to bed late (by midnight), sometimes we get carried away doing things together & other times she's fighting the bed routine. I have to do a long regime for my acne plus 30min of light therapy.  My chiro wants me to do 40min regime for the pain in my feet (I haven't started, Dr will scold me tomorrow, I don't feel I have the time).  My ME time is 12-2am (obviously not getting enough sleep but i need my ME time).  Most of the things I need to do will on the weekends including running errands for the family needs.

"What are your dream goals"

What are your dream goals?
1. Lose 15 lbs or more
2. Declutter & start organizing
3. Spend more time doing educational activities
4. Follow chiro dr. orders.

"What can you accomplish in 3 months?"

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
1. Joinimg consecutive DietBets (keeps me accountable & helps me from cheating myself).  Using ME time to walk on the treadmill 5 out of 7 days.  Start doing situps, starting with 30/day.  Pack my meals the night before.
2. Make list & post it.  Complete 1 or more task per wknd.  Pack & setup donation pickup by the end of 3mos.
3. Setup scheduled time Sat & Sun for learning fun, probably after lunch.  Squeezing in some more during weeknight when I get off work earlier.
4. Follow chiro drs orders during ME time.

"Buddy System questions
1. Can you handle more than one buddy at this time?"

Not sure.  I feel pretty stressed with time management but love reading the forum as a stress reliever ;)   Id love to read about everyones progreas & struggles.  It helps to relate to others.  Everything listed seems hard, but the hardest part is actually starting.  Last, I think I'd like to donate a prize.

I took the time to get on track this morning. I don't include me frequently on the post list, as I feel I should be super posting as the host. I toss myself a bone as some of you would like to donate prizes, and who doesn't like a chance to win:D

We have a total of 31 posts so far!!! I do love cheerleaders, so even if you are not signed up I enter your name into the post drawing....ponfan:D

I am going through missed/read quickly posts so I might be a bit behind.

Banditpony. What date is Matsuricon? A count down might help you stay on task:) or get me more excited for you.

Oh I love pictures, so anyone post pictures at anytime:D

Kiwichi- Welcome. I only have experience in daycare(no kids of my own) the daycare was consistant on times. So lunch at 11, start nap time at 12:00. You might want to try and create a sleep schedule to help create a routine. Just a thought. You can also look at baby workouts. I have seen yoga positions as you interact with baby. Congrats on the baby:D I picked up knitting to help not snack or overeat. Maybe a hands hobby could help:)

Shatyr- sorry for your injury. I can only relate to a foot injury, but I was told to always use it. Even if for 5min. Take a moment to rest. You might be in a chair at work, so take 5min breather periodically. It might help with the stamina. Tiny steps:) I hope you see improvement soon.

Aadra310- I think you talk to many of use who have been horribly hurt by people weather in youth or adult. It's about learning to love yourself. I started to write something I did or liked about myself at the end of the day. Once I started to love me, I found nice people who loved me too, it just grows. The facebook sign up is a bummer but it's not you they said no to. They said no to the book swap. Something else might spark an interest. Private swaps are great pick me ups.

I really do not want to make these giant posts, so new goal is to be quick to respond:) I also have to record my own progress better. Good note, hubby is joining my weight loss journey, so that would be awesome:) keep positive everyone:)

The nausea is finally gone and I was able to eat solid food last night! If two baked potatoes count...

I find myself craving some pancakes today, which does not go along with being healthy, but it's definitely better than the "can't eat anything, upset stomach" setting I've had for the past few days. I've made myself the deal that I can stop by Village Inn on the way home from the doctor after picking up my paperwork, so long as I park well away from the entrance and use the stairs. It's only one floor and I've found that I actually do feel better if I'm vertical and moving.

I still like cheerleaders, so feel free to post even if you are not signed up!

Banditpony two weeks!!! Wow so close. Good luck with it all:)

Sharry that is a great idea. Went with the desire, but made some hurdles to get to it! That is wonderful!

My stomach's been all out of wack, but I did eat some rice and chicken for lunch today. And I had a bean and cheese burrito for breakfast (not an unhealthy one, it was very good). Yay, eating proper meals!
I am dreading classes beginning, I still need to get my tablaptop.

I decided against Village Inn and hit up Red Robin instead, which was the better choice because I got to see a service pupper-in-training do his first visit to a busy restaurant. He did so well and I got to chat with his handler. After the initial "That's a PUPPY!" reaction, I ignored the dog (because you're supposed to) and was quite pleased to see other people doing the same.

Stress and nerves can really beat up your stomach. I had to run to one of our busy stores today, and I dread it. Stomach is all burning, cramping, I feel I was kicked and its acid slowly drip out...sorry to be gross there. I drink some milk or a cool beverage like water, and it starts calming a bit.

Stress and worry can be such a bear on your system.

I like to think of them as ninja puppies. They're there, but I don't see them unless I'm supposed to see them.

I found that cooler temperatures have significantly helped my nausea over the past few days. Which is not going to do great things for my AC bill this month, but made for some fun work conversations about my "hat" (ice pack).

I'm at work, but my back is spasming. I tried stetching and almost couldn't stand up. I think I sat too much yesterday, so I'll be taking it WAY easy tonight.

I'll probably lie down somewhere quiet for part of my lunch hour, with my food. Appetite has definitely returned. I'm taking it as a "one step forward, one step sideways" sort of situation.

Tomorrow's a half day of work and it's usually really slow, so I'm going to see if I can get some extra steps in just walking around the department area in between calls.

Welcome to Healthy Pony, heathersmoo!

^_^/

My dad gave us a bunch of tomatoes. I feel like the best way to enjoy a garden tomato is to lightly salt it... but I can't stand raw tomatoes.

So, we made Bò Kho: https://nomnompaleo.com/post/5216859841/bo-kho-spicy-vietnamese-beef-stew

It usually goes with bread, but I passed on that. :) It still was yummy.

My diet is going well ^_^ But I just wanna cheat for the sake of it, and that's bad. lol. I hope it's going good for the rest of you who started early!

Wow it is not even the 15th yet and we are still going strong! Anyone can sign up at any time. Buddies get assigned on the 20h, and later joiners will get buddies too. I will make it work.

Heathersmoo welcome! It’s ok to not do the exact sign up. It’s what really works best for you, this is just a way that might help. What is global entry card? The company I work for specializes in affordable travel. I love to hear new trips and share some of my own:D

Shatyr did you make the extra steps? Way to go for trying! Just thinking helps you progress towards your goals. Hope the healing process speeds up.

Banditpony, well don on the skipped bread. I so love bread:)

Sadly still no piano, no work outs, BUT I have worked on some crafts to have on hand, skipped knitting, I have been eating super healthy like 80% veggies, 10% fruit, and 10% meat of some kind. Year for garden coming in at full force. Still struggle a bit.

I love my job, but it’s taking a lot of mental power. Not sure how to overcome at this point. Any advice? I love the company, and I love the people I am meeting, but I am still at the very bottom:( they tell me to sit on another successful worker, I do, they tell me things to try and I do. I just want to learn and be successful faster, and not really much progress after 30 days. Some great workers, and then poopy ones. They start nice and then they throw me under the bus or make fun of my mistakes. I know it’s a ploy to be on top and feel better about themselves, but it is hard to not take personally or to heart as they built your trust, and knocked you down. I am trying to get more training from my manager, but time has been an issue, but he is super nice.

I have 2 ponies come to work with me, in hopes to keep positive, but it’s super hard.

That and my family is starting to abandon me, or I feel it. Sorry to pour out here. The company I work for allows me to send friends and family on vacation for free. No catch. I am 6 hour drive from my parents. I told them they can come see me, and they have a stay for free in a nice condo. I know the drive is a bit hard. I would drive it, if I wasn’t using my free weekend to drive 2 hours to move more stuff into my apartment. If they visit, I would not be doing the moving stuff. My mom refused. She wants me to meet her in a twin 2 hours over so she can stay with her brother who they see each other every other weekend. Here is the real kick in the teeth. They drove to Montana (3 states away from them) to vacation for my sister, who is 5 years older than me, and she made them pay their way, and buy them food for the week long trip.

Sadly this sort of thing has gone on, and I just feel alone. I only made one friend in college, and she has kids so it’s hard to communicate with her. My mom was a friend, but these last 3 years or so, I have been pushed to the side, to the point they won’t visit me. I come and visit them, and they forget they have plans and ignore or leave me....sorry to pour out, I know it’s a depression issue that keeps me feeling being successful in my goals. I don’t have any money for therapy so it’s all on my own...but to me it’s wondering what I did that my family ignores me.

Haha, nah, this was a paleo version of a traditional dish-- so there was no bread to be had anyway.

I am pretty good with sticking to diet (as whatever I define it as). I may want something, but I generally don't sabotage my goal. It has to be REALLY worth it.

I used to tell my a friend, "what do you want? To eat that cookie, or lose 10 lbs". XD And then she'd eat it and tell me she wanted to lose weight.

I'll be out of the house most of the day tomorrow, but this works as a way to keep me active. I'm helping at a local 4-H fair, and the fairgrounds are large, so running back and forth will count for a workout for me. I ate some eggs for breakfast, and I'm trying to get my sleep schedule back on track for the incoming semester.
Crowning Glory, hopefully you find some way to stay positive and I hope that some time becomes available for the training. That sounds horrible of your family to do, but hopefully there's a bit of a misunderstanding rather than malicious intent. :hugs: in the meantime.

I love 4-H programs. My brother and sister got to do them, but I wasn't allowed to. Never stop supporting those activities.

I am going in to talk to my boss today, just hope I can hold myself from crying.  Just really need to start focusing on me:)

It's the 15th!!!! We are starting. More buddies can join!!! Woohooo

I started off today being able to sit up in bed without flinching! I've had to do this weird thing where I make sure I'm on my stomach, slowly get up on my hands and knees, then leverage myself out of bed with the side table. It's very graceful, really.

I'll be switching back to my stick shift vehicle this weekend, so I'm doing a lot of stretches and T'ai Chi between now and then. Friday marks two weeks of this nonsense, which I'm hoping is the halfway point towards full recovery!

I was going to start my diet sat (but i had a super burrito and a pound of potatoes at Taco Johns :|), then it was postponed to sunday (I had way too much ice cream with my daughter and since I made that decision already... I had a late night dinner at 930pm and popped 2 pieces of hazelnut chocolate into my mouth before bed ), then it was Monday (I cant recall monday...), and on tues i did good.

My daughter offered me PIZZA last night  and was insisting I have some with her, than surprisingly my husband offered to make me a chicken salad sammy (this never happens )....lol.  i rejected it all and opted for a few bites of chicken salad.  i almost caved into late night chips w/ parm&gouda cheese dip (avail at Sams Club, its so thick & good ;))

This morning...  the scale moved!  Im trying to increase my water intake, reduce salt intake and carb.  Im feeling motivated but have yet to start exercising (my excuse.. my treadmill is trapped in storage :lookround:)

C_G

Do not feel sad.

Work is work.  After being hurt badly at work and by coworkers, Ive found its better to keep work relations just work relations.  Dont open yourself too much and get too close "buddy buddy".  Yes, be cordial and friendly, but dont give your heart 100% (Im sure there are some great ppl to be really close friends with, but I havent exp it myself).  The workplace is full of gossip (not all are, but some), Id suggest to keep yourself busy with work and try to stay out of it (who cares if theyre whispering :|)  Youre there to do a job (dont lose focus on all the poop going on around you).  Be confident in yourself and love yourself.  The ppl who see that you are really a good person will see it.  Dont overwork yourself, youll feel unappreciated.  If you choose to go above and beyond, do it happily.  If youre expecting recognition/promo, just know it may or may not come easy.

As for the family issue.  Ive dealt with what seemed me to as "favoring/favorites" among my bros/sisters.  It really does make you sad...  but...  Ah, dont let it get to you.  Theres nothing wrong with you, its probably them :P  Refocus your energy elsewhere, find something else to do to keep your mind busy.  Stay positive, Im rooting for you  :frolic: :frolic: :frolic:

Accidentally moved like I was completely healthy and everything flared up again. I wouldn't say square one, but definitely square two maybe three. Ouch.

I'll be drinking a lot of water and gently stretching a TON today to try and get back to a functional setting before work tomorrow. Thank goodness it's only 2 days and I still have Mom's automatic, but we're planning on switching vehicles on Saturday, so this could be interesting.

I'm here I'm here. Seriously somehow I have procrastinated joining for 2 weeks, every night meaning to but never sitting and getting the post typed. Arg!

What are your dream goals?
-Christmas church bazaar on November 3 (which is 2.5 months away)

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
-I created this plan on the weekend, with 12 weeks to go until the bazaar:
-lunches @ work are for larger projects (2x snowman stacker, 1x gift TBC)
-home is for the smaller items that I can pick up during any free time, plus it's things that need more colours making them harder to transport
---weekly I want to get done at home: 1 gift card holder, 1 purple paw, and 2 poppers
-gotta do the other admin stuff (price lists, photo album, etc)

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
-since it took me 2 weeks to get my sign-up post done, I don't think it's good for me to take on a buddy, but I'd happy to participate in the thread

I'm a bit sore from poor posture/being up so much yesterday, so it's good that I counted that as exercise. I'm waiting on my mom to pick up some avocados so I can have avocado toast. Mmm...avocado toast.

I hyper-extended or sprained my elbow a few weeks ago... that has made getting stuff done rather difficult.

Let's see... I've been meal planning and marinading lots of different meats.  I made cookies!
I've been working on doll clothes and sewing and scrap sorting...
I had to take apart and scrub the dishwasher because somehow it filled with MOLD.  EW EW EW EWWWWWWWWWWW I have no idea what happened but it was beyond gross so I had to suit up and go at it with gloves and vinegar and a toothbrush and all.
DH has 80% of the shelving done!  YAY then I have to pull SO MUCH STUFF out of the shed in order to get to the books.  :)  It will totally be like... my birthday.  Oh wait that IS at the end of August LOL
I have been practicing my Spanish... not as much as I would like, but I get frustrated when I make the same mistakes over and over again.  I know the verbs, I know the nouns, I can spell, but OH grammar!
Sadly food keeps getting more and more pricey around here, so keeping those costs down hasn't happened.  I think it went up to $190/person/month...

DH is really encouraging me to apply for community college so that I might be able to get a degree, FINALLY.  I do really love teaching kids to read, so I think I'll be going into Early Childhood Education.  As much as I also like seniors and hospice care, I don't think I am strong enough physically.  Embalming school is REALLY pricey!  LOL  I know I am soooo eclectic.

Yippee. Good news for me!

I had a doctor visit, and I learned what my weight was. (I ditched the scale when I moved). I am at a very healthy weight, and I don't need to focus on losing anymore. ^_^ My self image is still low-- that's why my goal is focus on being happy with my body.

That said, I'm not a dummy. I know I have a bit more fat on me than I want, so my big focus is less fat and building a bit more muscle.

@lovesbabysquirmy
I'm just curious since you do meal plans-- do you freeze any of your meals?

>__<; Mold in the dishwasher sounds like one of my worst nightmares. yuck!

After 4 days of gaming (hello, new Warcraft expansion, consume my life for a bit), I've finally tired of the obligatory junk food. Sadly, with my sore back, it's still really hard to roast my preferred veggies and potatoes. Nevertheless, I shall persist!

Mom and I are switching cars back tomorrow, to see if I can handle driving a stick. We'll see how that turns out.

I'm standing more at work and halfway to my daily water goal, but I can still feel the strain in my lower back. I'll look into some standing stretches to see if there's something I can do here.

Ate two slices of avocado toast with lemon juice for breakfast. My stomach hurt for five minutes or so, but it's chilled out and I don't have to worry about getting any food in for a few hours.
Sleep schedule is really lagging. Set an alarm for 7 am and fell asleep after... I work early tomorrow, so that will help me get out of bed.
My new computer for school should arrive today! As long as someone is in the house to receive the package. I'm starting to get the pre-semester jitters only because I've been on break for about 4 months.

I found some time on a Saturday!!!

My new job has really been an emotional rollercoaster. It's been hard to feel confident and valued. I have never worked at a job like this, so it's hard to keep myself in check. Right now I am at a high, and need to keep a level head, because it can change on me fast. I am at 159!!! I lose one more pound and i have 5 outfits to try on! They are ones that got to eat once and then gained;( I use them as happy goals, and ones that help me motivate.

Fun tips: Water intake. I drink warm water as cold makes me way cold. I put myself in the habit of waking up and drinking a cup. I also fill a picture with fruit and water so there is flavor, but no sugar.  And I eat fruit after I finish the picture of water.

Tip: every one who is posting here is making a big step forward. Just typing what you want to reach keeps it in your mind. It may not be today, tomorrow or even this year, but posting keeps it in your mind, and someday it will just click.

Buddies will be coming out about the 20th. If you would like a buddy please post again:D I have gone back through the sign ups, but I don't want to miss anything;)

Piano for me needs work. I need a bit more activity, but I feel ok about my start. Keep up the great communication! I will introduce the contests for prizes again too:)

I use a lot of bribery to keep me motivated, so here it is for you too;)

Did some stitching at work today and convinced Mom not to change cars. Honestly, I don't think I'm up to a stick shift yet, considering it's still hard to get in and out of the Scion.

Tomorrow's the cello lesson I couldn't make on Thursday. I am so over this bad back thing, but it's only been 2 weeks out of (at minimum) 4. I am going to batch cook tomorrow, though. I miss my roast veggies and I think I can still use the oven if I'm way careful about bending.

Did my batch cooking last night and I now have breakfasts for the week and lunches through Wednesday. I'll have to cook more on Thursday, but I ran out of potatoes so that's a grocery trip.

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about my back, but it's hard. I keep stopping myself from trying things because I don't want to flare it and undo all my hard work.

They just announced the date and ticket sales date for the concert my best friend and I go to every year, so I'm eyeing that as a good status review date, 9/5.

*falls over because OMG my legs and arms hurt from all the lifting and sorting*

Horray :) any pictures? I'd love to see your manga collection.
-__- my collection is so small because I just never had the space to maintain it...

Even I don't have the space to spread it all out nicely, despite the new shelving.  :D  It has to be double-shelved and stacked with spines flat to accommodate it all.  :D
Uh according to my inventory spreadsheet, we have 430 titles, of which half are complete.   A ton of them are out of print or were cancelled for North American release.  And now a LOT of them were released only in electronic format after a number of North American manga publishers shut down, so I don't know how we will ever finish the in-print collection.
But I will take photos of the shelves as soon as I am done getting them all out of boxes!

Shatyr, I hope the concert is a blast! Hoping for very few or no flareups at all.
Squirmy, congrats on the bookshelves!
Haven't been doing any exersize at all, but I can excuse myself from doing that until school starts. The weather hasn't been great for anything outdoors and I have no good floor space.
I did make cookies today so woo go me for doing something outside of my bedroom.
Cleaned some shelves off, also! Did up my year 1+2 pony shelf setup.

Amazing updates everyone. I love Manga, but the one I want is so confusing....Sailor Moon. I have ponies and yarn taking up my space and time.

I am super behind on buddies. It might be Wed. Hope not, but that is worse case.

I also enjoy Sailor Moon. :) Ive read the first 5 volumes of the manga and am on Season 4 of the 90’s anime. I was a little confused by the 6th volume since I was watching Season 3 of the anime when I was looking at volume 6. I’ve seen the first two seasons of Crystal but not the 3rd or 4th season.

What are your dream goals?

1 Learn more French, at least enough to have a basic conversation.

2.  exercise  when possible

What can you accomplish in 3 months?

1 Practice French for 5-10 minutes a day at least 5 times a week
2. Aim for excercise at least 3 days a week.

Buddies: I’d like one buddy but it may take me a few days to respond to messages.

I'd love to have someone to practice French with. :)  I've been using Duolingo but feel I'm still at a very basic level.

I love sailor moon too!  I'd love to get a few more vintage dolls & finish up my Sm doll collection.  I'm looking to also get Sm serenity or wedding pullip doll in a few wks here for my bday ^.^  I can't decide btween the 2, I just don't feel like I need 2 Sm dolls in white dresses but reviews on both are so good >_<

Hope everyone's keeping their goals in sight!  I haven't started organizing or exercising...lol...but I've curbed my eating quite a bit & loss a few lbs, and doing more ed learning with my toddler.  Shes so smart but she doesnt want to try very much, dh says shes spoiled...

I've been lurking since I mostly only get to check from my phone and I am NOT a good poster/typist from my phone... too old, I guess!  Taking a minute on the PC to check-in.

Doing okay on my weight loss.  Lost a few more pounds in the last 6-8 weeks but kind of holding steady, now.  Probably will have to try to exercise to get past the plateau.

I think the "me time" before midnight is not a doable goal for me for a few years.  *sigh.  I LOVE my kids but it's 14 hours a day straight and that really starts to wear a person down.  I'll be glad when they can play with each other!

and doing more ed learning with my toddler.  Shes so smart but she doesnt want to try very much, dh says shes spoiled...

What are you doing, Kiwiwchi?  I have a 2.5 year old.  Feeling that I need to try to have a few more structured learning things!

Just focusing on relaxing/maybe cleaning these next two days, and then I'll whip myself back into shape once my 8am class starts on Thursday.
I haven't seen Sailor Moon yet, but I do enjoy magical girl animes in general.

I'm feeling so loose and capable today, it's hard to keep from over-exerting. My stride is fluid again, I can transition (stand/sit/twist) with only a little discomfort and I was able to sit for a little over an hour without stiffening up!

Of course, that means I have to start eating better and planning out my exercise routine. I definitely won't be jumping straight into anything high-impact. I'm thinking T'ai Chi for the warmup and some gentle body weight exercises, like squats and incline pushups.

I have Sailormoon manga from the original Mixx graphic novels where they changed everyone's names, the newer Kodansha English release with the translation closer to the original, and the actual Kodansha Japanese versions :)

I have Fruits Basket in English, Japanese and Korean!  hahaha

Aadra:

My daughter is 3.5.  We are working on sight words, shape names, numbers and writing.

We bought a large magnetic dry erase board to do writing #/letters, drawing shapes, using magnetic letters/#.  She brings all her favorite loveys to "school" and teacher Goofy teaches ^.^.  We also use the dry erase books (like Roger priddy).  Her dad n her work in her scholastic preK activity book.  We also do brainquest & brainquest-like flashcards (we found at a kids sale).  Recently we started reading "beginner reader" character books to get her more interested in learning how to read.

At 2yo, I loved the app "endless abc" and we still really like the show "Alphablocks".  Right now I'm liking Brain Candy TV also.

She is so smart, but just wants to play play play!  It frustrates me sometimes trying to get her to focus on ed learning.

Theres some mlp member who are teachers here, I'm sure they would have some ideas for u too ^.^

I dunno. I feel like at that age that you can do lessons as she plays..? Win win for both of you.

My child's teacher uses handwriting without tears for the preschoolers.. but we are still tackling pre- writing shapes.

Agree, lessons can be incorporated into play, and everyday and everywhere they are constantly learning, but I'd lIke to work on honing her focus as well during structured learning time also.    "There's a time to be silly and a time to be serious" -Daniel Tigers Neighborhood.  Do what works for you :)

Happy hump day, hope everyone's staying on track  :frolic:

Incorporating lessons into play help focus. The more she's enjoying the activity, the more she can stay focused. Developmentally a 3.5 year old might have 15 min of focus or so. (obviously all kids are different)

But it sounds like you are on the right track regardless.

I hit my water intake goal today, and my body keeps wanting me to do a full body stretch... which I have been mostly avoiding because I don't want to tweak my back. I can still feel is stiffen up and whatnot.

Switching cars tomorrow and cello lesson in the evening. I want to do some tidying in the living room and batch cook my primal meals for the rest of the week. The time of No Carbs approaches!

I made myself a progress chart - just an excel sheet, but it lists out everything I need to do (both product and admin), then basically just counts each task/piece, counts what I've finished, and gives me a Completion % of how far along I am.

Seeing the numbers in front of me is making me feel better. I'm already at 22% done for products, and there's still 10 weeks to go!

Been brainstorming what I can do after matsuricon (this weekend omg). AKA finishing my goals

Spoiler
I think I want to dedicate 4 hours to crafting 2x a month.

I know I wanna try...
Felted Brooches / hairclips
Small pouches w zipper
Cacti pillow
More dogs
Chibi unicorn

So speaking of matsuri...
Spoiler
I have over 60+ needle felted creatures
10 flat needle felted things (new!)
100+ kanzashi flowers (new craft! To replace stickers)
And ink jet fabric buttons (new!)

^^; I'm trying to convince myself I didn't do bad this year considering the circumstances. There's a lot of new ideas I never had the time to attempt so that makes me sad. But I'm always nervous every time... Aaah...  :(

Syllabus day. Just let me learn! My friend can help me with one of my online classes, which is very nice of her. I'm just waiting for my last class then I can go home and sleeeeeeep.
Banditpony, that's a lot of needle felting! Hopefully the convention goes really well for you.  ^.^
Kiwi, an excel sheet is a good way to track progress. I like checking things off or filling in boxes, they help me feel accomplished. Maybe that would be a good way for me to urge myself to work on a craft.

Agreed.

In other news, switched vehicles with my mom and I'm back in the stick shift Saturn. I can feel the stretch, but no pain. Still, the less time I have to spend in the car, the better.

Cello lesson was cancelled, my teacher's getting ready for a cruise. I won't see her for 2 weeks, so I'm going to have to seriously up my practice time. I want to impress her when she gets back. :)

I'm watching my brother's dog/house tomorrow, so I'll see if Bamboo wants to go for a nice walk in the evening. Provided the smoke doesn't descend and ruin that plan.

I have finally caught up on posting. And reading all the positive comments towards each other just warms my heart. Sometimes my own head gets the best of me, and I do wonder if anyone would miss me if I was gone. Well I can see I am a big silly head. Really needed the pick me up, as I have been sick. So my goals went the way side and I am slowly working myself to square one. I was eating more to keep my strength up, so my weight is up. I am ready to get going again.

Please PM me if you want to donate a prize. I will just add the amount of prizes awarded.

Working today in the evening and taking the day off to rest, but I'll try to order some of the books I need for classes tonight and tomorrow. I should look into helping other departments at my store as well. It seems like a lot of these books are absolutely necessary for my classes, and I don't want to have to sacrifice any participation in the hopefully upcoming Halloween swap. I could use the extra hours, they're only scheduling 4 people a day at the desk and I can only work 5 days of the week now.
CG: Lovely to see you back! Hopefully your sick passes very soon. Thank you for organizing this! Best of luck with the position at work, as well! It's lovely to hear that the position has opened up!
I have some interest in making a gift for the contest but I will need to make sure I can stay on top of my classes before saying for sure.  :) I love sewing ponywear and plush, even if my work isn't exactly professional.

Welcome back Crowning Glory and good luck with the dream position!

It's now been exactly 3 weeks since my back first sprained. I'm back in my car, but wow is it different from driving my mother's automatic Scion! I had to readjust all the mirrors, the chair and the radio stations (not her fault, apparently something broke while she had it and they had to play with the electrical).

Back is feeling tight, but no actual pain. I've been able to mostly bend like a real person, so my plan is to do some GENTLE exercises on Sunday and see how things go.

I'm meeting up with a local pony person next Thursday for lunch, which is way exciting because I didn't think there were any other collectors in my area. At least, not any active ones.

I'd also like to donate a prize, custom cross stitch pony headshot coaster, G1 or G4 (I don't have any G2 or G3 designs prepped, sadly). It can go to any contest that needs one. :)

I got my full water intake yesterday and the 7.5 hours of sleep I try for, even though I was at my brother's house instead of my apartment. My back is feeling a little stiff, but that could be because I always end up sleeping sideways on his bed (I can't explain it, his mattress is WEIRD).

Did some of my online coursework. A bit worried about the hefty amount of photoshop and illustrator costs but at least I don't have anything due until the 9th, so I should work ahead in stat and make room for that.  :)
Stat won't be so tricky, although it will make my excersice goal less and less avaliable. I'm okay with that falling to the side for now because I'm working consistently.

When you work, you are still active. If you sit 90% of the time at work, try moving a bit. Don't need the restroom, does not mean you can't walk the restroom and back from time to time. Stretching can be helpful too.

I walked the dog. So that was my activity, need to bump up. But that's my win. My puppy is a 45 pound dog, so it's not a short walk. Food intake was on the ok side. Not over eat it a lot of junk food, it just could have been healthier. By all means I am not upset, just know I can do better:) I will get some knitting done as I work on my presentation. It's easier to switch from knitting to work then piano to work.  Peek season is the summer, so maybe September will give me more towards piano practice:)

Hope you all are having fun with your buddies:)

I got a 100% on my first graphic design assignment (it was just moving some layers around) so I'm fairly confident I can pass the class. I'm confident in stat as long as I keep doing one homework unit every day. I'll be far ahead of where I should be if I keep that up!

I was all set to do a basic workout yesterday morning, only to realize my back was way tight after getting up. So it's another week of stretches and grumping while I wait for my back to heal.

I did manage to get a lot of chores done, even with the sore back. The skies have mostly cleared of smoke (for now...), so I'm going to try some walks in place of body weight workouts.

My main goal this week is to clear off my desk so I can get some designing and printing done. I can do cello and cross stitch in other places, but I can only 3D print at the desk, for obvious reasons (that's where the computer and printer are).

@banditpony

My go-to Paleo breakfast is paleo breakfast muffins. You'll need at most a muffin tin, bacon, eggs (I also use cooking spray, but I hate cleanup and that makes it so much easier to get the muffins out when you're done).

Line the muffin tins with the bacon, one strip to a cup, and pop them in the oven at 350 degrees. Personally, I like to put baking sheets under the tins, so any excess oil/grease/egg doesn't get all over the bottom of my oven.

While the bacon pre-cooks, mix up the eggs in a mixing bowl, preferably one that can pour without making a giant mess. You're looking at a ration of one egg per muffin tin.

I like to add cheese to my muffins. You can also add diced veggies if you want. This is also a good time to grate/wash/dice, etc.

After 10ish minutes, take a look at the bacon. If it looks slightly crispy, take the tins out and add your extras, then pour in the egg mix. You do not, I repeat, NOT want to fill them to the top. These do puff up quite a bit.

Pop the muffin tins back in the oven, wait 20-30 minutes or until you can stick a knife in without having it covered in un-cooked egg. Just like baking!

I put them in tupperware and then stick them in the fridge. 30 seconds in the microwave and you have breakfast! Or lunch! Or dinner! Or snack! They're pretty filling and pair well with fruit if you want something sweet that doesn't involve processed sugar.

OOoh sounds yummy. My mom made something similar with... sausage, tomatoes, and something green (kale? spinach?). So easy to grab and go!

XD I totally need to go get a muffin pan now.

That recipe sounds really yummy Shatyr. Congrats heathersmoo on doing so well in your Polish lessons.

I have been trying to watch what I eat closer and make healthier choices. I’ve on a 16 Streak on my French lessons on Duolingo and am  learning a lot from my Heathly Pony buddy.  I think I am finally getting adjusted to my new meds.

I batch cooked the rest of my meals for the week, did a short morning stretch where my back performed the way nature intended, and I'm 10 ounces away from meeting my hydration goal!

I can still feel some tension in my back, especially when I've been sitting in a poor position for a few hours, but it's night and day compared to 4 weeks ago. I'm so excited to get back to my original goals, here's to not going overboard and suffering a relapse!

Happy Friday to all.  Hope everyone's still chasing their goals.  Can u all believe it's almost September!?! :frolic:

I fell off the wagon on my dieting, my husband's eating habits are not helping.  Dieting & eating healthy requires lots of food prep which I've failed at this wk.  Let's do better in the month of September... cheers to everyone  :drunk:

I'm up to 25% on bazaar prep overall. 46% on products and 3% on admin stuff (finally got my first batch of photo prints ordered, 99, that'll be the bulk of them but I'll have some more closer to the event).

I met a local pony friend at an Italian buffet for brunch. I had a lot of fun, she and her husband are amazing people, the food was really good... I ate too much. And tomorrow's dinner will be BBQ at my brother's house, so there will probably be chips and some form of dessert. My body feels tired just thinking about it.

I’m sorry you’re sick banditpony. Great job Kiwi. :cheer: :cheer:

I’m on a 20 day Duolingo streak. :)  I think I’ve done pretty good food wise since today is a holiday. I had poached eggs this morning and movie theater popcorn with no liquid butter for lunch. I’m trying to find some zero calorie drinks to replace the higher calorie/sugary ones and trying to cut back on how large my good portions are, but now I find I’m constantly hungry even if I’ve just eaten.

EURGH I have to get over my aversion of social media.  Basically I don't want anyone from my previous jobs or friendships or life previous to Canada finding me and going all nuclear on my comments, tagging me, stalking me, or whatever other negative things can come of it.  Those are burned bridges, man, burned!  My life is NONE of their business!

Of course I don't think anyone from before Canada knows my married name and I use a different email address than I used to back then.  But the fear and anxiety... it's real.  *sigh*

I feel you.

I'm a designer, so it's only natural I'm supposed to have an online portfolio. School told me I had to have one -- or else I fail. So I did, and what happened? My awful ex (abuser/stalker) found it *sigh*

My suggestion to you, make a new email for social things... You can direct any mail from awful people straight to the trash. and use social media accounts that are controllable where no comments can be made, or you can delete them as needed.

Pippity poppin' in to say I completed the first chunk of stat, woo-hoo!
My advice for not being found is to use a name that is unrelated to your birth name at all, although that's not very helpful if you're trying to establish a brand attached to your name.

The younger they are, the more sleep they are supposed to have...

Right?!  According to the pediatrician, I got "lucky" with two kids who just need less sleep than others!  Great.  Thanks.
But, cooler weather is on the way and the toddler can play outside and burn off all that energy.  Maybe that'll do it!

I live. I caught up on all the posts. Many of you are really reaching those goals, and the rest are learning so much on this journey.  I have kept in touch with my buddy, but life got crazy.

Yesterday was my day off after working g 13 days strait, plus work g on a 1 hour presentation hope to be ready by Monday. I made #2 sakes rep this week. I was literally almost cut from the team 3 weeks ago. So stress is high. Still there but I can now breath. I have my first online piano lesson today, so I have to touch my piano. Never done online lessons. So we will see how it goes. I don't have to start work as early. So using that extra hour to work out and get healthy.

I hope Saturday is a good day for me. It's funny. I am doing really well at my job, could get a promotion, but I just feel I am going to fail again. Horrible to think that. I just don't feel confident. I also brought a serious issue to my big boss, and so afraid it will hurt me. Blah!!!! So glad I have Friday off.

Thank you my buddy for your your PM. Made me feel I was in a loop still.

Mini contest for you all! This will be a surprise in the mail from me. Here is what you do. Just post something your buddy has done for you. No mention of who your buddy is. You have till Wed to post. I will do a random number drawing on Wed.

I am off to prep the lesson and work the presentation. I hope I can knit too. I miss the happy color of yarn:)

Great progress everyone!!!

October is when everything changes, but when my "off day" yesterday resulted into going to work -- I give up. Life isn't going to give me an opportunity to just do something for me. No point in having a goal that life is just going to not let me have.

Good luck everyone else

Thursday marked 5 weeks of lower back sprain and I'm pleased to announce: I can pretty much do everything like normal again! I still get a little stiff if I sit for too long, but that could also be muscle-disuse, since I've had to baby those muscles for over a month.

To celebrate, I'm cleaning all the things I couldn't get to for the last month, like my cross stitch storage and lower shelves. Only I'm doing it s-l-o-w-l-y. Over the course of the next week, since I am overly aware of how easily an injury can re-sprain if I don't ease myself into activity.

In other news, I've been stitching a lot (making up for lost time?) and paid off a student loan! Next up on goals, 3D modeling and some religious studies. My, but it feels good to be able to move again.

Sorry I’ve been MIA, but I should be more active now. Things were just really bad for a bit but recovering.

I would say I’ve made some progress. I’ve made a time table and goals for each room of my house that I’m trying to rearrange to my liking. I’m trying to finish a chunk of it before my Husky’s birthday party at the end of the month.

I bought extra charting paper (I do papergradebooks too) to help with organizing my funds per month, and I’ve been doing Walmart pick up on my groceries to help budget my spending better and avoid temptation of randomly buying something I see and just “want”.

I haven’t made as much progress on the working out, just controlling my portion size a bit better. That’s another area I need to work on.

I am a bit lacking. I get so lazy after work...blah. so my goals are changing. Sometimes life is not your way, so you make another path.

I am making it simple.

1. After work I have to so something.
Options. Knitting, work presentation, crafts, piano, cleaning or working out. I have to choose one.

2. Organize myself. I feel I am using the move and work as excuses for not keeping things cleaned or on schedule. I mean my posting is lacking here!!!

Hubby and I worked out, and I feel super soar. We also went horse riding and that area hurts. Haven't road in over 20 years!!

I am in search of a buddy. If you want a buddy, or take on a second buddy, please PM me:) first come first serve.

Challenger is extended to Friday. No names, but tell us something about your buddy you like:)

So far I have 2 entries, but if I missed you let me know.

My buddy is amazing at posting and being positive.

I will be asking you for your mailing address soon, so i can send the goody prize to winner of the drawing.

I am still super soar from working out Wed. I have walked since then. Piano is limited to days that i have my student, but i have a plan to do more. Hope it works!

I am knitting a shawl and I am 1/3 finish. I have other projects to do too. I am making my list to see what I accomplish today.

I'm gonna take the leap and sign up!
I need some motivation and accountability to finish the weight loss I've started and to reclaim some hobbies that have fallen to the wayside.

What are your dream goals?
- Lose ~22 more lbs/be under 20% bodyfat
- Catch up on ALL my cross stitching. Lots of starts, few finishes
- Get into a regular occurring gaming schedule/group
- Learn to speak Italian

What can you accomplish in 3 months? (I've only got 8 weeks left!)
- lose ~15lbs (at *LEAST* 10lbs)
- exercise 2-3x/week
- set up 2+ gaming dates
- finish my small stitch project, catch up on my monthly stitch along, continue on my other project.
- practice Italian at least 4 days/week

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
- one please

Hi, everyone!  Happy to see some new joiners!

I have limited data so I pretty much can only come on here from my phone and it's hard for me to post/send messages that way.  Yes, I'm old and set in my ways.  But, I've got some PC time so thought I'd pop in!

One of my goals was to be more social and I'm doing okay with that!  Actually made a new friend, today!

I've lost another pound and have held steady at that weight for about a week so, that's exciting.  Still not used to my post-pregnancy body so hoping more weight loss will help me look and feel more like me, again!

I'm even making an effort to contact my in-laws!  My MIL and SIL aren't very good about responding so that kind of sucks some of the fun out of it but I'll keep on, anyway!

Aadra great job on making a friend, and reaching out to loved ones. It's hard when there is not a lot of response. But keep trying it will happen!

Gave my presentation this morning, they said I did so well I could start today!!! It's not official as I have to work on some details. Huge news for me. The big pressure is off, so I can look at my goals again.

Than you all for keeping this going. Welcome Prince_Sunbeam. We will have a buddy for you soon. I hope to be on more now the pressure is off. Since I was off the little mini contest has ended.

All one had to do was say something positive about their partner. Here are the names I have.

1.tailrustedtealeaf
2.ponyfan
3.heathersmoo
4.shatyr
5. Me!!! Haha just kidding. I did post, but my entry is going to prince_sunbeam since they decided to join:)

Please let me know if I missed a post. Hope to post the winner tonight.

I just used this one form Allrecipes (https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/39544/garden-fresh-tomato-soup/). It's a pretty basic soup, which is fine because I didn't need anything too fancy. I didn't have a food mill so I just used a blender on the chunks and added it back in before making the roux. I did have to add paste because the soup was too thin, but it was a good use of an hour or two!

Yum homemade soup!  I made some green tomato soup the other day... very tasty stuff.  Then I made tomatillo chicken tacos, also very good.  Now I need to make some salsa verde and that will use up all of my tomatillos from the massive freezer stash I had from several years ago.

Nothing else seems to be going right in my life right now, except my cooking!  And that's not helping our budget as food prices just keep rising in Canada.  I had hoped to keep our budget at $170 per person per month but it has almost risen to $190 and I haven't been buying anything different!  :(

Lovesbabysquirmy, inflation stinks! You get the same thing, but prices go up. If you have a lot of produce the season can affect the price.

My husband is teaching me how to cook, I am very bad. I tend to mess up boxed pasta, boxed desserts like cakes, and managed to burn pancakes and have liquid batter in the middle. Hubby checked it was not the heat, and they were not thick either...hahaha. still a great memory.

In my job we have what is called 1a. It's your mindset. I was doing really well for a moment at work...and I did very well for the new position, but today I did not feel I performed at my best. I am getting in my head and ruining my 1a. Ugh. Not sure how to keep a level head. Any advice on positives and fixing the mind, I am all eyes on this forum:)

I guess I should update my goals to hopefully include NOT having any household issues with water!!!!  D:

Okay three weeks ago, our kitchen plumbing backed up and flooded the front side of the house... we had to replace a 10' section of pipe and deal with SO MUCH greasy dishwasher muck and snaking out the pipes all the way to the main drain.  This morning, I woke up to use the bathroom and stepped into water that was right at the foot of the bed.  Our toilet flapper-thing had somehow gotten stuck on, keeping the water running, and flooded the back side of the house... our downstairs neighbor was standing in two inches of water that kept pouring from the ceiling and down the walls... AUUUUUUUUUUGH My husband was like, "Oh so that's why the cat was howling."  The water that had gushed all over everything was so bad that I ran out of towels and had to start using quilts and laundry to mop it up while wringing out the mop bucket and running the washer on spin cycles...

I have wet books ALL over the house and so many fans running... AUGH and our poor neighbor had his hallway ceiling fall apart and come crashing down from all the water.  D:

I am so sorry lovesbabysquirmy. I am keeping prayers to you. Blech water can do so much.

Shatyr has won the mini post contest. I will send her a pm:)

I am not doing well with my goals, nor am I remembering if I have. So I am starting a weekly goal. Healthy pony is all about trying something new, and discover what works for you. I feel recording is what is going to put me where I want to be. I am going list what I want to do in a day, and try and reach it. I want to post it daily to use it like a reflection.

Sourdoughstomper first started healthy pony. It was a great start for me, but it was very hard. Posting was an issue. She had some awesome bribes too:) but it was a struggle to keep it up. I did many rounds of healthy pony, and you think I would have this to a T. But in all actuality, habits are hard to break and make. You will be up, you will be down but each day you try. That trying is one step closer your goal...its frustrating that these steps are tiny. It took 3 rounds of healthy pony to not go out and eat fast food and a second dinner. I almost relapsed too. Stick with it.

We have 161 posts so far!!! Woo. So I have been recording who posts. Number 1 is me for the post start. Who post next is number 2 and so on. I will be doing a number generator at the end, this will have a screen shot, and that is how we pick a winner. I have 2 prizes set aside for this contest. Any one can donate to have more winners, or come up with their own contest. Just no shipping restrictions.

I hope your buddies are keeping you going:)

Oh no, that is so awful, lovesbabysquirmy. I'm so sorry that happened. That is so upsetting the water caused so much damage and even made your neighbor's ceiling come crashing down. :( That is horrible! I hope no one was hurt. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Crowning_Glory, I think that is a great idea to start a weekly goal. I might try that too about listing what I want to do in a day or a week. Making lists like that can be helpful. I agree habits are really hard to break and make. That is so great you were able to break the fast food habit! I know that must have been so hard and frustrating with how long it took.

Bit of a silly question but are you still accepting new members?  ^^; Sorry for such a late sign up. I was thinking about it last week but I wasn't sure as I didn't think I'd be any use to my buddy but I'm willing to try!

What are your dream goals?
•To lose weight, I want to be a UK size 16, I'm currently a UK 18/20
•To pass maths in college next May
•To pass my certificate in Childcare and Education next January and move onto Diploma.
•Learn Spanish

What can you accomplish in 3 months?
•Cook meals using Slimming world/Weight Watchers recipes,  I actually enjoy making these so this'll be fun
•Lose 2-3 stone in 3 month (2-3 pounds per week)
• Research, re-read, go over topics and work towards goals and target grades in classes.
•Learn Spanish at least once a week

Can you handle or would like to have more than one buddy?
I think one would be great, but I don't mind more :D

Thank you so much for the welcome!
Everything is going well, I'm just very tired as I currently have trouble sleeping, at least I'm finishing soon. How about you? I hope you're doing good :)
I can relate to that haha, I tried finishing some college work and chat on the arena at the same time during my lunch break haha  ^^;
Good luck with your assignment! I'm sure you'll be able to finish it in time  :)

Got one more lesson starting in 10 minutes and then a long weekend of homework..

Its really amazing how well accountability works!
I actually worked out after work today, and while Im completely exhausted, it feels great to be progressing towards my goals. I haddnt worked out in over a week, my goal is every other day. But I feel like since I made it happen today, itll be much easier to do it again in 2 days. I also realized that doing it right after work, before I relax for the evening is much more successful. Once my butt hits that couch it does not want to get up! 😝

Congrats Shatyr on winning the mini contest. :cheer:

I haven’t been doing well on some of my goals.  I’ve been
keeping up with my French and have almost a 50 day streak going on Duolingo. That’s the longest I’ve ever maintained a Duolingo streak. I feel like I am finally actually learning French instead of just memorizing words. I really enjoy reading my buddy’s messages and getting the opprotunity to practice French with a real person. :)

I haven’t been doing good on my healthy eating goals. I’ve lost my motivation due to a recent illness and a medical test. I hope I can get back on track.

Update. I had to present to 6 out of 9 managers to see if I qualified for the new position. I passed just fine...whew. today I am actually active in the new position. Before the presentation I freaked out. Basically a toddler who really just needs a blanket...pulled it through and now just waiting on results. I might get another chance on Sunday.

Whew. The 27th was my birthday. I got the 35th anniversary pony and played like I was 7:) I can't collect MIB because I play with my ponies all the time.

On a scale of 1-10, my goals are about a 3. My effort is there, but more often is me being lazy:p I started my list and working that way. I am taking small steps and focus on what I do.:)

Great work everyone. I am so proud of you ponyfan. Like always you find a positive light.

Remember everyone, what you are doing is hard, it will not happen over night, but you have made the effort and that is a reward and be proud of yourself:)

Fell off of posting, but not much to report! I need to study stat for the first of two tests this week. It's not a difficult subject, but I haven't committed much of it to memory. I've been leaving off things to the last minute, and need to get back on that.

As of today I'm up to 60% ready for the bazaar, with 5 weeks to go (80% stock and 40% admin). I know I'm a little further than that, but my tracking only counts things that are completely finished, not "in progress".

My buddy inspired me to add another goal to my list! A year and a half ago I got Rosetta Stone Italian for my birthday, did it for a few weeks and then it fizzled out. I'm going to try and pick up learning Italian again! I downloaded duolingo on my phone because the rosetta stone app isnt very mobile friendly, and so far it seems like I retained all the old stuff I had learned so that's a good sign!
Someday I'll speak Italian!

I took the duo Italian lessons for about a month before going to Rome.  I had to stop because it was messing up my Spanish lol.  Where I live, Spanish is way more important so I've been sticking to the Slavic languages since then to be safe.  Good luck with your lessons!

You guys are so good with languages! I'd love to learn any language, but I'm bad with self study. I should learn Spanish because my girlfriend is good with it and it'd be useful in general, but I'm so lazy. Maybe it'll be a summer adventure.
The person in our group did finish the thing he was supposed to do but just...didn't tell us. Wonderful, appreciate it, thanks!

I honestly hate group projects, I feel so sorry for you especially working with someone who doesn't co-op with the group very well :pout:

I've been keeping a notebook by my side when I've been learning Spanish, I'm writing the words and meanings to help me memorise them better

oooh very nice cross stitch projects!

I had a job interview today... although it didn't really go well by my standards.  The job was advertised as office admin and task delegation, but instead I was put through roughly an hour of heavy role-playing based around my abilities in sales (of which I have next to none!) and business management (also not something I know much about). UGH  I almost had a panic attack but I kept struggling through...

Although I am sure I met some kind of exercise goal today!  We've had about two feet of snow blanket my city... and it's still coming down...

Love those stickers prince_sunbeam. Awesome progress Kiwi!!!! I am so glad to see everyone posts!!! :cheer: such excitement.

Doing another mini challenge:) inspired by prince_sunbeam. Pick a tiny/small task to finish in a week. So post your task and in 7 days see your progress. Your 7 day starts the day you post your task. I will give you till Oct 15 to post your task to start the 7 day tiny task challenge. You get 1 number for posting your task, and you get a second number for posting about how you did in the 7 days. The number is generated by the sequence of your post. If your second post is made positive(even if you did not meet your challenge) you get 2 numbers.

My mini challenge is knitting. I am working on a Santa and reindeer themed scarf, and I want to finish the sled in 7 days.

So I am post #1. My 7 days starts today, so we will see what happens by next Wednesday!

My new job is going very well...but still have to keep my waits about me...and now my foot is in a boot again. All I did was walk and shooting pain went through my foot:( sigh. Old work injury that never really got fixed:( sigh. Someday soon.

I look back and I really have walked 45min to an hour every day, and been eating very well...but no weight loss:( blah...piano is at 1 time a week. Hope to fix that, but life is busier than I thought!

Keep posting!!!

Ooooh! A mini challenge!

A task for me would be to complete one of the games from the Ratchet and Clank series. I've got them all but they just sit there on my shelf, I really want to play those again and complete the series, so this week I'll make my task to restart from the first game and complete it by next wednesday   :yippee:
Not a very exciting challenge but with all my preparation for GCSEs back in 2017/May this year I abandoned most of my games Still have Grim Fandango and Psychonauts to complete too!

@Crowning_Glory13
Your injury sounds painful, yikes! I hope you're okay and that your foot heals/is fixed soon!

I've got my first work placements in nurserys very soon (end of October) and I'm very nervous so I've made a little side challenge to go along with my studying, I need to prepare and not let my anxiety take over! I'm going to practice tasks that I'd have in my placement, go over our work from today (had to bath a dolly today! XD) and prepare myself, knowing the child's needs, how to handle tasks etc. And hopefully get in contact with my brother's childminder to see if I can go over and observe/learn some more from her  :)

StrawberrySundance has number 2.

I did daycare for 2 years. I learned a lot from those with kids. My only advice is breath. Kids can get to you and they are not even yours:p take a breath. They love routine. When I had toddlers, we had a routine, and once it was learned it was great.

Thank you for the advice!  ^.^

Ah yes, we did a little on routine today such as nap time, lunch, story time etc and the specific requirements and needs. Hopefully the nurserys I go into will have a set routine I can learn and follow.

My mini challenge goal will be to complete the September block from my stitch along by next Wednesday. I should be able to do it! I'm starting it tonight, its pretty small, and with a long weekend on the horizon (Indigenous Peoples/columbus Day) I should have plenty of time to work on it. The October block is much larger.

I'm honestly amazed at how well this thread has motivated me to keep on track! My buddy has been very motivating and helpful!
So far I've been very successful and on track with my goals. I have been working out 2x every week (I'd like to make it 3x, but I'm happy with what I'm doing) I've lost 3lbs. I completed my small stitching project and made progress on my monthly project (no progress on my medium sized project but that ones more just for fun/me so I'm trying to get totally caught up on the monthly first)
I also have 3 gaming meet ups planned this month! 2 with strangers and 1 with a friend I don't see often. One is tomorrow night, I'm very nervous to just show up to a random meetup- but I'm determined to put myself out there and try to be social.
And, with my more newly added goal of learning Italian, since downloading duolingo, I've been using it every day!

Its amazing what getting organized and setting goals can do!

I cant believe its already Oct.  Healthy pony is done Oct 15th, is that correct?

Ive done some organizing, but probably not as much as I had imagined.  I have a few bags to drop off at goodwill.  My husband keeps telling me to just toss it since its been sitting in the mud room for a few wks now :lookround: and I havent gotten around to the "dropping off" part.

I havent had much progress in losing the 15 lbs I wanted.  I lost 7, then gained it back.  I didnt join Dietbet... probably should have to stay on track.  Im planning on starting again here.  I feel like I got stuck in a funk.... anyhow winter is coming and I do not want to gain anymore weight!

Baby is working with dad on sight words, doing activity pages in her workbooks and learning to spell her name.  As a first time mom, Im overjoyed with her progress(!!!), she utterly amazes me :frolic:.  Her dad is a pretty awesome teacher   Her birthday is coming up in Dec and Im excited for christmas already!

Time is flying by, before we all know it, itll be the end of the yr nearing ^.^

My mini challenge is to clean my desk. I've got most of the misc things "off" the desk, but they still need to be sorted and tossed or put away.

I've got a Tacky Bob coming in the mail, it's this great thing that will hopefully keep my seed beads from partying on the floor instead of waiting their turn to be stitched onto Celestial Dragon. I'm soooo close to being done that piece, it's killing me to wait. But after dropping the bead bag last night and having to pick up 100+ beads... I'm not willing to take that risk again.

I'm going to assign "finishing the photo album" as my task. I need to do the dividers, take my last photos, order the last prints, and put in an order for other prints (digital and from film, so 2 orders). It's really the only bigger task I have left that will need some extra time for the orders to come in, so I don't want to run out of time.

My mini challenge is to draw something digitally and finish it! I've not drawn anything digitally for months, and I want to get back on that. I've also volunteered for a zine and need to get a contribution up for that.

I feel very unmotivated, but I did manage to exercise for an hour today and I always feel better after doing that. I also managed to clean up the place some--I feel better when things are clean and organized. I still need to get back on track with my 30 day clutter challenge that I was doing. I love the mini challenge idea.

Ponyfan, I’m so sorry you lost motivation due to recent illness and a medical test. :( It can be so easy to lose motivation when things like that happen. That has happened to me also. I hope you are okay. Illness makes things so difficult.

Crowning_Glory13, very belated happy birthday wishes to you! That sounds fun to play like you’re 7! That is great you have walked every day! I hope your foot is doing much better.

Tailrustedtealeaf - Drawing something digitally sounds fun! Great mini challenge!

Prince_Sunbeam - Love the cross stitches! That is awesome your buddy inspired you to add another goal to your list! I know ciliegina means cherry I think, as that is Cherry Treats Italian name. :)

baby squirmy, I'm sorry the job interview did not go well by your standards. :( That sounds really hard with almost having a panic attack at the job interview.

4 weeks to go - 73% ready. (87% on products, 58% on admin stuff)

7 day goal is coming along, but not sure if I'll get it all completed within the 7 days, especially with the holiday. But I do have my photo album dividers done and labelled, it's just the remaining prints I haven't done yet. It might be next weekend, but we'll see.

2. Fix my dresser draw/have a sort out
3. Get some sleep
4. Do a bit of studying

I'm so excited right now because I had a free breakfast sandwich at work, then I came in first place in a Halloween trivia contest against 80 other people by getting every question right and won $25 of free ice cream, and then my passport was waiting for me at home- my visa to travel to India in 2 months was approved! Best day ever!

Mini-goals:

1.  Take another bin to thrift store have 3 bags full plus plastic bin, awaiting 2nd donation
2. Finish taking in the hems on the pants my DD was given: 6/8 pairs done!
3. Meal prep: make naan and breakfast sandwiches
4. Make pattern for DD's Hello Kitty costume for the head - not yet, but I've made the body, body just needs neck seam and velcro, head needs to be cut out and sewn on
5. Write cover letters for 3 jobs, apply 2/3 Find 3 more new jobs to apply for!
6. Login to my online class, see if peer reviews are ready: checked 6x, started new class on Excel
7. Login to Duolingo, practice Spanish for 15-30 minutes

My job interview did not go successfully obviously.  Hopefully my DH has an opportunity that will bring in more hours/money...
He's been cleaning the garage so that he can majorly sort the LEGO that has been building up all over the place (no pun intended!).
I've been adding all the missing volumes of manga we still need for our collection onto my Amazon wish list - sometimes I can get a book for less than $1 not counting shipping!

I have all my stock done!!!!! WOOT! Up to about 81% ready overall.
Here's a quick collage of everything.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Although I found out today I need a $15 item for the raffle table...but nothing I made is actually in the $15 price point, so planning 1 more item for that (but I have an idea, and should be able to knock it out in time).

Mostly in the week (or within a couple days after - more like 8-9 days) I did not get the prints done, but I have taken the photos, and called the one photo lab for pricing and timelines.

I think the mini-goals is helpful for me to get a good idea of what I need to do.
1. Ship out ATC (this HAS to be tomorrow) for swap
2. Practice Spanish on duolingo
3. Clean up some of my room (at least my bedside)
4. Clean two ponies
5. A section of stat work

Wow what great achievements do far!!! I am so impressed. Foot injury is on the mend...hoping not long now and I won't need the brace. Job is fun and crazy. I have started well, I just have to keep it going. Sadly I will be getting a second job just to get by as this is a slow season for us.

Just got back from Door County Wisconsin. Its was amazingly beautiful fall color show. Tried to slip to the second hand shops. But was pulled in different directions.

I gained all that I have lost so far:( but I have 30 days to get a good foot hold on my goals.

That's right 30 days left!!!! So start posting what you have achieved so far. You just might be surprised.

I could be more active. I still have time to work on it.

I am not as far as I should be on my knitting. But my progress is getting better.

I do get piano in once a week due to teaching lessons, but it's not much effort on my part.

I see a tiny progress. I used to write in my notebook what I want to achieve in a day. I got points for achieving them and I could use those points towards an award. From buying a pony to having a piece of sweets/candy.

30days....let's see what I can do!!! Let's see what you can do?

I will update the mini challenge list soon. If you ate not in my previous mini challenge post list, please let me know again:) be sure not to miss anyone.

Let's see, 30 days to go, how have I been doing:

All projects are done. My plan changed a bit - instead of 1 of each per week, it went more in batches, but all still got done in the end. What really helped was making a spreadsheet of every single piece in each item, and checking off at they were completed. Then it gave me a % of how I was doing (and was colourized so 0% was red, 100% was green, and it very through orange/yellow in the middle as the numbers changed). Having that visual really helped me - plus let me see I was making progress even if it didn't seem like it.

Tasks left:
-raffle item (got one picked out, should be simple enough to complete)
-*maybe* some extra stock on a couple items, just bonus stock
-photo prints
-final inventory list
-price list for custom orders
-get candy
-load items in Etsy/Square

19 days to go!

The next three will have to be for tomorrow, I'm a bit tired. It was a strange day at work today.
I'll have to add Spanish to my list of goals. It's a fun language to speak, I just need to keep motivated.

What can you accomplish in 3 months? (I've only got 8 weeks!)
- lose ~15lbs (at *LEAST* 10lbs)
- exercise 2-3x/week
- set up 2+ gaming dates
- finish my small stitch project, catch up on my monthly stitch along, continue on my other project.
- practice Italian at least 4 days/week

I signed up on September 20th- 25 days ago. Let's see how Im progressing on my goals:
- So far I've lost 6lbs, I'm happy with that! Im really hoping to lose at least 6 more to be only 10lbs from my long term goal!

- I have been exercising 2x most weeks, last week I went kayaking, swimming, & hiking while camping on Monday- but went home with a cold and didn't work out the rest of the week. I plan to resume my usual schedule tomorrow- typically Tuesday/Saturday with occasional Thursdays

- I went to 1 gaming meetup the week before last, and have 3 set up for the upcoming week! The one I attended previously was... so so. Didn't feel like my crowd of attendees but the store manager was very friendly so Im returning tomorrow to try out a different event he recommended with a likely differing crowd. If tomorrow goes well I'll likely attend another stores event for the same game on Friday to try their crowd as well. On Sunday I arranged a gaming day with my old friend who got me into gaming, he lives a few hours away so we only get together for gaming a few times a year.

- I finished my small stitch project, and caught up through October on my monthly large project, I'll still have to complete the November block once its released on Nov 1st (& December thereafter for it to be 100% finished) No progress on my other medium sized project as of yet, but that one has no deadline and my only other WIP

- Since adding Italian to my list I have practiced on duolingo every day! 15day streak so far, the app makes it super easy to get in every day, it even reminds me!

I am going to focus my own 7 day goal again. Working out daily. I get a reward after 3 days in a row...not sure what yet. My weight is making close tight and unwearable, and not good for my morale.

They finally put the class work up on the college website, it's took them so long!
So today's goals are
- Complete Unit 2, 'D1' of my course work booklet
- Begin my presentation (Do at least 'C1' of the presentation) I might as well start early  :)
- Get my stationary pack as I tried to get it when I had my break but the fire alarm went off

If I can get these done today, that'll be great I'll be caught up and have an early start on my presentation, maybe I'll have some time to continue my game as I'm nearly finished

I hope everyone is doing well  :)

I dropped a pants size! Wooo

I'm so happy! But kinda sad at the same time, I just got my favourite jeans altered and now I've got to wear a belt in order to keep them from slipping XD
I'm honestly super pleased but I couldn't of done it without my buddy, thank you for all your help and motivation!
I'm still striving for one more size down but right now I feel pretty good where I am :)

My Spanish has flown out the window again but im restarting tonight again and my studying is going okay but they've thrown a load of assignments onto us last minute   :pout:

I'm also on a part time job hunt and have applied for 3 different Subways in my area in order to get some money to spend on my family/friends at Christmas, I'm just hoping I can get somewhere to work  :(

I hope everyone is doing well :)

I've been able to make some steady progress on my goals.

The weightloss has slowed, but that is inevitable as I get closer to my goal weight, I've lost 9lbs since I signed up- my goal was 10-15lbs (with a total of 22lbs to lose before my goal as of my sign up) so I'll be in that range. After recovering from my camping trip exhaustion and cold I have been back to working out 2x a week, though Im sure Id see more progress if I could work out 3x. My wife was supposed to be doing work outs with me to keep each other motivated, we even bought her an expensive home gym machine..but I can never get her to work out with me so that is counter productive to my motivation.
I got caught up on all my stiching that had any sort of timing associated with it, my monthly will put out a new pattern piece on Nov 1st so I'll make a goal to finish that before Healthy Pony closes on the 15th. My medium sized project with no timeline to finish it has gone by the wayside though. Id like to try and complete it by the Holidays just to get it off my plate, but its supposed to be *fun* so Im not forcing myself to work on it.

Since starting Duolingo on Oct 1st I have been able to practice Italian every day, it only takes about 15mins and I set the app to remind me during my typical slow time at work. Very easy goal to accomplish, and I feel great about finally learning Italian after thinking about it since I was young!
The biggest change has been that Ive been motivated to go to multiple gaming meet up groups and have found one that meets monthly and another that meets weekly that Im going to stick with! So my goal of trying out 2+ has quickly become- attending 5 so far, with a regular opportunity of 5/month. Im also going to try out a new weekly one tonight so that would give me 9 opportunities per month vs the 0-1 I was attending before. Its been great to get me out of the house at night and meeting new people.

One of the things that has helped me stay on track the most was making a daily list of small goals, as inspired by Crowning_Glory with the mini challenges. I have a list on my cellphone of all the simple tasks I *have to* finish each day, at work and home. And each morning or night before I add things that I want to or should complete that day and I check my list as I complete each item. It makes me feel motivated and accomplished to check things off- even if they are very simple little tasks I would do every day anyhow. For example at work I balance the cash drawer every day and have for years, but it still goes on my list! And I add fun tasks too, like a date night. Everything I intend to do that day, big or small goes on the list.

This whole Healthy Pony program has really helped get my butt in gear with some things I needed to get done in my life I am super grateful to this group and especially to my buddy and Crowing_Glory!!

I’m still here. I’ve had a lot of health issues in the last couple of months that I’ve had to deal with. (More info in “What’s your problem?” and my motivation to eat healthy has disappeared. I love chatting with my buddy but they have been pretty  quiet also.  I have been working on my French everyday and I can tell I’m actually learning it.

We can't reach every goal, we can't reach ever task, but we can try. That is the best thing ever, to try!

Even if 1 positive comes out you have won.

I see 20 people a day. Out of that 20 people 90% of them will tell me no. But the 10% who tell me yes makes the job worth it.

So you may have gotten 90% no on your goals but that 10% towards your goals make it all worth is.

I do feel bad the buddies have gone quiet...it was a risk. I can't do too much or it would turn into a swap style event and to me that is limiting. I can off me as your buddy so PM me.

We have contest to work on.
. Miss/Mister Congeniality Healthy Pony. This pony is voted by the group through private message. They are a pony who cheered others on, stayed posting, and did the best at reaching their goals.

Either post your pick or PM me you pick for this prize contest. This might be a chance to spread some positive thoughts.

If you voted please post that you voted. Most votes get the win! Or we will do a drawing for a tie.

Wow, Prince Sunbeam you've made great progress. Congrats to everyone that is maintaining their goals and keeping up with their Duolingo lessons. :) I've noticed that I seem to be able to read/understand more French than I can when I hear other people speak it but I'm really happy I've been consistently learning more.

Thanks Crowing Glory. I'm sure some real life stuff came up with my buddy but I've missed talking with them. I was hoping we could keep talking to each other after this round of Healthy Pony.

I know I have not been the best buddy, and yes chat each other up even after this round...it’s all about friends!!!!

I have 1 congeniality vote. Please pm your vote. And if you voted in the poll please let me know. I won’t be able to check once the poll is over.

I am going to be real with everyone. I knew this was a possibility once I started this round. Those that wanted to donate a prize might not be doing that now. I get it life happens. So prizes fall to me. That means, I am distributing prizes and shipping to all winners. I knew this could happen, and that’s ok. Just know that if you have won, and it takes a bit, I apologize. Also you may remind me.

We end out healthy pony Nov 15. All prizes will be named by Nov 10. 5 days for me to get all squared away. If you have a prize, PM me that you have a prize. Once I get all the contests done, I will send you the info to send to. Prize winners please give your sender feedback. Just a nice way to say thank you.

Our time is getting short post away. Your post just might be the lucky winner!

I’m so sorry to hear that some of the prizes people offered to send for Healthy Pony might not be working out. I understand real life happens sometimes and we aren’t always able to do everything that we hoped.

Was the post fun pony pics a challenge or just for fun?

I want to tell you Crowning Glory that you have always made Healthy Pony fun to participate in and even when I fail,  you and others always encourage me to try again. Seeing an encouraging post from someone can make my day. :) Also you have been very generous to me in past Healthy Pony challenges so if my name should come up for a prize I’d like it to go to someone that you think could use an extra pick me up. :)

I voted in the poll. :)

I know I haven't posted in a while - life. Work's been a bit more busy/stressful, hubby has been sick, and my bazaar progress has slowed. Just this week left, I'm excited but also getting more nervous. I got a lot of bits picked up on the weekend, which was most of the last minute things. I know I'm ready, but I still don't feel it, and this week is so busy as well.

We can do this everyone!  Even if it feels like we are shuffling slowly to our goals only wearing one houseslipper and with curlers still in our hair! LOL

My main goal for the next two days is Halloween costume for the kid... I am so close but not done yet...

Then I have to buckle down and keep finding job applications to send in.  My DH's training opportunity kind of fell through, so we are stressing about how to make extra income because we need to knock some debt down BIG TIME so the interest doesn't creep up... *sigh*

Well done everyone for working towards/completing your goals so far :D

I must apologize to my buddy for not messaging them last week, I've been so busy  :( Turns out I had more work than I thought, hooray for an unorganized college! Luckily I've got two weeks off, one for a half term break and the other because they still haven't sorted my work placements out. I've applied for a total of 5 jobs now and hopefully I will be accepted into one, that'll be one of my goals complete and a lot of stress removed.

So my goals for this week are;

- Complete at least two units of my PowerPoint presentation
- Finish my Halloween costume (almost there!)
- Get my hair cut
- Experiment with my fudge recipe in time for Christmas
- Begin on making Christmas candles for family

I have voted in the poll and just about to PM you Crowning_Glory13 with my vote, if Im honest I wish I could vote for everyone :)

Thanks for your votes and pm. It helps a lot:)

Checking in with a progress update. :awake:

1. I'm afraid this goal has been going nowhere fast. I've achieved my minimal goal of one meal per day, but haven't been able to progress past that. I have managed to add some meat to my diet though (my husband has been helping with that by bringing home "snacking meats" like precooked bacon and liverwurst) so that's at least something.

2. Making slow but steady progress on this. My original goal was to have the whole house finished by Thanksgiving. I'm doubtful now that this will happen, but if I at least finish by Christmas I'll be happy.

3. This is the one I've made the most progress with. Walking/hiking is surprisingly relaxing and I enjoy taking walks in the park, especially with the dogs. With cold weather setting in (we've already had our first snow!) I'm not sure how well I'll do this next month, but I'm happy for now.

Also wanted to give an acknowledgement to my awesome HP buddy who has been so helpful and supportive.

Yikes, it has been way too long since I checked in here. Sorry about that!

As for my goals, it's been 2 steps forward and one step back. I've definitely recovered from my sprained back but I haven't lost a bit of weight and I'm pretty sure I've lost muscle as well.

I'm still working on cello and modelling, but they've been taking a back seat to sorting out and improving my mental health. My "hobby" goals were just another way to distract me from the other things holding me back.

My buddy's awesome, never giving up on me throughout the whole thing, even when I went a little radio silent. Sorry for dropping the ball a little there, buddy!

Well, even though I haven't made much progress with most goals, I've been exercising almost every day on the bike, even reaching 36 miles in one day a few times the past week so I'm glad about that. I think one of my new mini goals is to get more sleep/try to get to bed earlier. I notice I feel more motivated if I have slept well.

Ponyfan, I'm so sorry about your health issues. Health issues are always so hard to deal with. I understand completely about losing your motivation. That has happened to me also. You are in my thoughts.

Crowning Glory, I'm sorry to hear some people might not be able to send prizes. I could send a prize, but I'm not sure what yet.

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm curious what the Halloween costumes will be that some of you have mentioned! Happy Halloween!

Goal roundup:
Quote
1. Didn't do this AT ALL. My room has improved somewhat, but I've been too tired/lazy to declutter. This was a pretty ambitious goal for me. I did decrease my clutter somewhat by compacting some boxes.
2. Pretty good? I need to work more at my procrastination but I've only missed 2 assignments.
3. My work kinda means this goal is just something that happens.
4. Ehh, kinda? My stomach's been too bad to get lots of food in, so this was an unrealistic goal for myself.
Actually, lots of these goals are very idealist. Maybe another goal would "set realistic goals" lol.
Title: Re: Healthy Pony Buddy System Start Up
Post by: Crowning_Glory13 on October 31, 2018, 03:23:38 PM
If you don't make the goal, you can't see the direction you want to go:) maybe a goal is not realistic, but now you see what is.  I think I will keep goals and optional buddies for my next round.

Thanks to those who want to donate prizes. Prizes are thing you have about, or even a card saying how proud of you they are. Each prize is to symbolize your hard work:)

I finally wrote down one of my own knitting patterns!! It's a scarf with santas sleigh and 9 reindeer. I made this for me awhile back, but my mom loved so much I didn't want to say mo. So I am making my own. I have been writing my pattern as I knit...whew.

In a short time we will be done. Take a moment you see how far you have come!!!! All of you have made some great leaps and bounds. Learning and trying is the only way to see what works!

Okay let's look at my goals :)
•To lose weight, I want to be a UK size 16, I'm currently a UK 18/20
My healthy eating has been going pretty well, I didn't achieve a 16 but I did drop a pants size from 20 to 18 which I'm happy about. I'm still going to continue healthy eating after this has finished too.

•To pass maths in college next May
Well it's not may yet but the lessons have been easy so far and I've understood it all :)

•To pass my certificate in Childcare and Education next January and move onto Diploma.
Not there yet! I've been doing pretty well there's just lots and lots of work to do!

•Learn Spanish
Ive quite enjoyed learning Spanish and will continue to do it, I even added my buddy on Duolingo! :D

This week's goals
- Complete at least two units of my PowerPoint presentation
I've been a bit lazy this week, I've done some work not much though
- Finish my Halloween costume (almost there!)
- Get my hair cut

- Experiment with my fudge recipe in time for Christmas
- Begin on making Christmas candles for family
Doing these tomorrow when I have some time :)

I've really enjoyed this experience and my buddy has been amazing!  ^.^

Strawberrysundance you are an inspiration. Not 100% of your goals, but you progressed in them. You are 50% the way there. How neat! How amazing!!! You really took the time and even though it was not a completion you are almost there!!!

We ate all almost there!!! We can reach our goals!!! Even after healthy pony we can do this!

I know I planned another round of healthy pony, and a photo contests, but I have to face reality...I have applied for a second job. My new job is more seasonal then they really promised:( this week...I will only be at work for 3 days. I know I am on the path of not having to deal with this 2/3 job thing. I just might have to for 2 more years...sigh. my hope is only this year, but anything can happen.

Depending on the job I might not be able to host healthy pony, even if no rewards were involved. On a better note.

I am making a list of my knitting projects for the rest of 2018! I am going to see how far I can get. Still some time left...we all do.

Thank you all for helping me through a lot. I know I hide it, but i put a lot of pressure on myself, and i almost gave up...a few times. I am not perfect or 90% better, but i am on that path.

Thank you all. You made and helped me cheer for you, and i didn't feel so alone or down on myself, because i was given purpose. Thank you all.

What can you accomplish in 3 months? (I've only got 8 weeks!)
- lose ~15lbs (at *LEAST* 10lbs)
- exercise 2-3x/week
- set up 2+ gaming dates
- finish my small stitch project, catch up on my monthly stitch along, continue on my other project.
- practice Italian at least 4 days/week

- I'm officially down 10lbs! With 2 weeks left I don't think I'll hit 15 but I should be able to make more progress
- Most weeks I've been able to exercise 2x, Im hoping to ramp that up to 3x
- I have attended 5 gaming dates!
- Small stitch finished, caught up on my monthly (until the new pattern releases tomorrow but I'll get that done)
- Been practicing Italian every day!

Healthy pony has been amazingly helpful in keeping me on track!
I have never had written down goals before so I never experienced how helpful it can be to have a system of accountability like this!

Thanks sweetie.

Right now I currently feel: :freak: :freak: :freak:

I have all of tonight to myself, so I am going to haul some serious butt. I'm banning myself from the internet (well things like Facebook and Arena, only Etsy-related internet is allowed) until things are done. There are a few last minute things that will be done on Friday, but tonight will be getting all of that stuff prepped to the final stages possible.

EEP!

Ponyfan

1. I’ve been able to maintain a 78 day Duolingo streak so far. :) When I tried learning before it didn’t feel like I was actually learning the words (sometimes it still feels like that) but for the most part I can tell my French has really improved and I’m able to read and understand a lot more than I could when we began Healthy Pony. :) My buddy’s helped me a lot with learning more French.

2. I’ve been working out when I can but I guess it’s not intense enough as I haven’t lost weight.

I wanted to also work on healthy eating but completely lost my motivation due to several health issues that I’ve had in the last 3 months,

I hope the job works out Crowning Glory. I know how frustrating it can be when a job doesn’t turn out like you thought it would or you watch other people being promoted to better positions while your hard work goes unproved.

It’s been a week for me...whew. I have not been to work for about 4 days...now I am commission based. So not working everyday is not unusual. But I have had. The 40 plus hour work week for so long it’s hard to get used to. Still working and striving towards our goals. My job is also helping out in the less hours as this is our slow season....I didn’t realize a job could be so helpful...I am loving the job but it’s a rollercoaster of new things and self confidence.

Thank you to all who have chimed for prizes. I am just ping to collect infor and send their info to you at random. If you win a prize please send feedback to the sender, and post on here:)

Knitting great. I am not loosing weight but I am walking each day. I am at least staying active. Piano...not so much. I will develop a plan to keep trying.

Nov 10 will be the end of prizes. Saturday is super busy, so I will have to do drawings on Sunday.

For the first number generator drawing, I did it all....but I thought some of you would like to. Since you can’t see the name it would even surprise me. So if you want to do a contest random number generator for me, just post and say so:) once Sunday comes around I will post for you to give me a random number 1 to ? And once I get the number I will announce the winner:)

I also feel odd. I got a lot of things done today, but I feel behind...I even updated sales and eBay...but I feel I have hours to go before I sleep...hahaha

I'm willing to send out a small participation prize for everyone. But I'd need a list of participants, and addresses etc. (I'd rather get it as a whole list, so you'd probably have to manage that).

But since I didn't have time to prepare it, then it would take me time to create and distribute.

Banditpony that is super sweet of you!!! Ok participants!! If you want a generous offering from Banditpony, just give me your contact. I will put it together for Banditpony!!!...is it ok to put myself on the list

I am pushing through. After this Sunday I will be really digging down to it and do what I need to.

Well, I did it! My first time with a vendor table at a craft show. Here's a couple photos (first one is mine right after finishing setup, second one is from one of the hosts that took photos of the event).

Overall, actually did pretty good. Was very slow at first, but picked up in the afternoon - small sales, and a couple custom orders as well. Actually made a profit too (after fees, donation, and even taking out all my costs for initial setup - which I won't have to worry about again as much).

Now I have a good idea for next year of what will sell and what won't, and tweaks I might make.

I think the hardest thing is figuring out a product that sells like good but at the same time is fast to craft.. AND keeping it fresh if you continue to sell at the same venues so you'll have repeat customers.

It's taken me a while to get to this point - I've had my Etsy shop open for a bit over 2 years. I liked doing the small event.

:xmas: I wear my Santa hat all December long, every year. This was a Christmas bazaar, so even though it's on November, had to wear the hat. ;)

I wear a Santa hat the day after Thanksgiving!!!! My goal in life is to do craft shows in my slow work season. It's hard as I have to work weekends:p but my father in law does them so I plan to join him in case I need to work:)

Oh, I didn't mean that as quit your job. <_<;

I suppose that meant -- it was really cool how she just embraced it. She developed her skill (knitting), figured out her niche, and just *did* it.

Also interesting, she had only started knitting to keep her hands busy to stop smoking.

I want going on that I should quit my job. It was more wow she is inspirational and brave...:) I thought knitting was cool when I got into it, bit it keeps me from over eating. I used to just eat and TV all the time. Family gathers were all day food fests. I love all foods so I have a hard time stop eating. I am full and I still eat. Now I take my knitting everywhere. Now I have better distraction.

Yikes! Only 5 days left!
Ive fallen behind on my goals this past week.
Will have to dedicate myself to working on my cross stitching tomorrow, I should be able to complete the November block before our deadline.
No additional weightloss, but I'm happy with the progress Ive made. With the Holidays coming up, its important to be realistic!

I don't mind doing it :)

--------------------------------------------------
My goals went a bit down hill this week. I did some bits of work here and there but I dedicated most of my week to Christmas shopping, candle making and video games ^^;
I didn't eat much this week, so my healthy eating flew out the window so I'm getting back on track today with both healthy eating and the bit of work I've got left.

I've lost nearly 5lbs in 2 weeks, and I'm pretty sure it's diet-related. I've also gotten a ton of beading done on Celestial Dragon (so close... so close...).

Since tomorrow's a holiday, I'm spending quite a bit of it cleaning and watching Miraculous Ladybug. Darn show's gotten into my blood. I've been neglecting my video games in favor of a French-Korean teenage superhero slice-of-life slow burn/mutual pining romance. I need the next season to pop up soon.

What can you accomplish in 3 months? (I've only got 8 weeks left as of my start day!)
- lose ~15lbs (at *LEAST* 10lbs)
- exercise 2-3x/week
- set up 2+ gaming dates
- finish my small stitch project, catch up on my monthly stitch along, continue on my other project.
- practice Italian at least 4 days/week

Lets see how I did!?

-I lost the 10lbs, and Ive decided that while it'd be wonderful to lose another 11 that Id rather focus on maintaining my current weight long term (I've lost 64lbs over the last 7months)
-Ive been exercising 1-2x per week, which is better than zero!
-Been to 7 gaming meetups. Going to a new one tonight, and another on Sunday.
-Finished my small stitch, caught up (this morning) on my monthly, but minimal progress on my one other project.
-Been on a 46 day duolingo streak!

Overall, Im really proud and impressed with myself. I was skeptical that setting goals and making a list would have any real impact on my productivity but it clearly really has! Im looking forward to seeing where Im at with these goals as well as new ones when Healthy Pony starts up again in the new year!
Huge thanks to CG for being a phenomenal host, and a huge shout out to my amazing partner who has been really supportive and attentive and motivating

My goals
•To lose weight, I want to be a UK size 16, I'm currently a UK 18/20
While I didn't weigh myself, I definitely have seen a difference and dropped a pants size, I'm one size away from my dream goal but I'm comfortable here, after Christmas I'll be striving for that last size down!
•To pass maths in college next May
•To pass my certificate in Childcare and Education next January and move onto Diploma.

There's not much to say about this one, I've had a lot of things in college that have set off my anxiety so I've been off track. I managed to finish the PowerPoint for my presentation as I got office 365 woop, but other than that those goals have gone a bit down hill :/
•Learn Spanish
I'm enjoying learning Spanish although my steaks have been on and off a lot XD I've still learnt lots and will definitely be learning more!

I want to say thank you so much to my buddy! They've been so lovely to talk to, so motivating and just awesome! They've really helped my with my goals and I cannot thank then enough!

Big hugs and thanks to Crowning Glory too! They've been a great host, I'll definitely be back in the new year :)

I have also decided to keep going, and extend healthy pony to Dec 31st. It's simple. I am going to focus on one thing. No prizes, no challenges, just a place to post your progress. Any one can sign up, even if you didn't start the first round.

Your goal pick 1 thing to work on till Dec 31.

My goal is to improve my activity. With is cold and snowy in my area, my walks are shorter so I am sitting more. I want to get into the habit of mini/small workouts daily.

With travel the next few days will be hard, but now I can try:)

My goal is to deep clean my apartment. I will be doing my best to go through EVERYTHING. Every box. Every notebook. Every storage container. Everything gets looked at, cleaned, put away or donated.

I'll take Before and After pictures (though I probably won't post them) and show myself what type of progress I can make when I dedicate myself to one thing.

woohoo! Im glad its continuing.

Im going to make my #1 goal to maintain (or keep losing -unlikely-) my weight through the Holidays. If I can make it to January with out gaining, through multiple large family meals and delicious holiday treats than I will have had a phenomenally successful year for weight loss. Long term Id like to lose 10 more lbs, but keeping off the 65 Ive lost already is just as important if not more so for my long term health.

I hoped I'd get my prize shipped out before the holiday on Thursday but Ive been too busy. I'll aim to get it out Friday, Saturday or Monday at the latest!

My husband needed some alone time due to work so he walked the dog. I just want to start slimming down...now the mini work out might only do 100cal but it’s a start. Good luck with your goals!!

Also when you receive your prize give feedback.

I think the first book is "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up", or something like that. The second one is "Spark Joy". Google "KonMari book" and you'll fine it pretty quick.

It's a good read. There are a few things in it that clearly come from a place of privilege, and the author is Japanese so there's some cultural differences that need to be acknowledged, but it's definitely making me want to tidy up.

So far Ive been able to maintain my weightloss through Thanksgiving! I know Christmas will be a lot more challenging- our customers at work tend to bombard us with desserts and treats as gifts. It will take a lot of self control to not over indulge.
Then the 23rd is my anniversary and we'll have large decadant family meals on the 24th and 25th. So I'll have to wake up on the 26th fully determined to get back on track! But with a successful thanksgiving (I let myself induge for the day of and day after on leftovers) I feel confident I can make it through

Got to admit I haven't been on the arena much this week, I've been trying to catch up on my college work as I've been off for a couple of weeks due to some personal issues. I'm almost caught up! I'm attempting to do the tougher questions in the assignment booklets in order to get some extra points to make up for what I missed. I haven't even attempted Spanish this week which sucks, but I'm going to try to get at least a few sessions in next week! :)

Go Ponyfan!!! On vacation so not eating the best:p not over eating but restaurants food. Still active so that is a plus. I want to compete for Mrs America soon. I am also knitting my wardrobe!!! I have been itching to start, but I need to have better body. No it is not required to be a certain size. One of our past winners had curves and weighs more than me right now!!! So proud of her. I just know knit tends to hug the body and I wouldn't feel confident. So i am at 160. At 155lbs I can start choosing patterns and testing them out. Each time I loose some weight I get to do more rows and time on the outfits:) hope this helps motivate me.

Don’t give up Crowning Glory. I think this time of year is hard to keep up with goals. I’m still working on my French. :) The other day I told a family member how to ask for butter in French.

Ponyfan that is so wonderful!!!! Vacation made it a bit hard to get motivated but I did take a long walk with a big hill today with the puppy.

I'm currently dealing with the worst seasonal depression I've had since being diagnosed. I finally decided pretending I'm a normally functional adult right now is just making things worse, so I've been going to bed way early and eating poorly. The sleep helps but the poor eating does not, so now that I'm ~starting~ to recover, it'll be the same extra sleep and better food.

My cough is ALMOST gone!  YAY!  I sound like the diseased old person in the corner chair... LOL

2019 is rapidly moving forward with New and Improved Goals.  But we still can give ourselves the opportunity to decide to act on our 2018 goals and build new habits!

Crowning_Glory13: You came back from vacation and started an exercise routine with your puppy!  That is a great thing you chose to do!
Ponyfan:  Aimez-vous le beurre?  Je prends le beurre s'il vous plait!  ;)  I *thiiiiink* that's how you say it?
Shatyr: Trying to re-set yourself after being ill is HARD, I know.  Especially in the winter with SAD!  Keep pampering yourself and finding small things to be delighted by, because self-care is so important at this time.
tailrustedtealeaf: Keep going!  There's nothing more motivating than a good clean-up; as you go along, you want to discover what's in that pile, and that pile, and that box... :)

As for me:  I got a large bureau/dresser out of the house and donated!
Husband's workplace upgraded their file cabinets and gave him the old ones, so new place to store paperwork!  YES!
Also they gave him a massive sideboard/cabinet piece and all the DVD/Blu-ray/kids movies/anime box sets have a home.
Husband was ALSO able to hook up the HE washer/dryer we were gifted by my MIL.  The other washer/dryer went to the shed because it still works and you never know when someone will need one and not have the money to buy one.  And the space in the kitchen that was taken up by this machine is NOW going to be a big pantry and bar sink/food prep area!!!
The neighbour will take the giant bookshelf we don't need now that we have the ceiling-to-floor bookshelves.

There is also a small bedside table and second bureau that has to go off to Value Village though.
And I do still need to bite the bullet and create a Facebook account or a Linked In account...
And I am not able to log in to my Employment Insurance account so I am going to have to call them in the morning and really step up my job-hunting game, which refers to more of the second point on my list... :(
And my mom needs me to do some legal paperwork stuff that we haven't taken care of since I moved to Canada, but really should be taken care of NOW.

Keep good vibes and prayers for my sister in law. She has been diagnosed with a inoperable tumor. They are checking to see if it is worst case scenario. She has 4 boy and if anyone was called a healthy pony it would be her!!! Always ate healthy and running all the time....I fear stress was a culprit but I am not a doctor. Just some extra prayers and good vibes would be nice:)

So sorry to hear about your SIL C_G. Will definitely send up some prayers <3

Healthy Pony wise I've been doing alright. Been able to maintain my weightloss, theres been some ups and downs but Im at a good place right now. Just really hoping Christmas doesnt throw me off *too* much.

I still have to finish my Monthy Jungle stitch along- ASAP. Its a Christmas gift for my neice and I also need time to wash and frame it...but Ive been procrastinating SO MUCH. I have to finish it tonight or tomorrow at the latest. I dont even own a frame for it yet... Maybe I should stop spending so much time on the Arena and go do that...

I’ve only ever had the regular depression diagnosis but I have accidentally figured out (I have a parakeet)  that an “avian sun lamp” bulb… (a kind of full-spectrum light bulb pet stores sell to parrot owners to perk up their parrots)… perks up my own mood and gives me energy. I realized one day I was hogging his light my chair edging out his birdcage and that I’d been more active. :bird:
That may not be scientific but works for me, it is also a heck of a lot cheaper ($20) than those pricey lights meant to perk up humans and can screw into a regular lamp (totally skip buying their bird floor lamp) a few feet from you. On the downside if I want to sleep in I need to remember now to turn it off the day before... & it will easily give me the pep to stay up until four am if I leave it on too late in the evening the day before…
I don’t need a doctor to tell me it’s as effective as chocolate but harder to get immune to than my chocolate bars. Sorry that’s a bit ranty but as I know a lot of people who cannot afford the medical lamps for humans thought I’d mention these bulbs exist at your local petstore… and what they are… if any of you look for one (sounds like a lot of us get affected by the winter here) just don’t buy a heat-basking bulb by mistake.

I do have a solar replacement lamp, it mimics the dawn and was maybe $30-40 on Amazon. It helps... a little. This time of the year is hardest for me because that lamp is the closest thing to daylight I get. My desk is located in the middle of the IT floor at work, everyone closes blinds, and the overhead lights + monitor screens do not help at all. I literally get to work before the sun rises and leave shortly after it sets. I've considered getting a smaller light for my desk, but we did have a guy who had one and it was blinding. I'm still not sure how he got anything done. Still, I double the full-spectrum light for anyone else with the SADs.

In other news, I was able to go through a ton of papers last night. I still can't find my registration renewal form, which makes me wonder if it got lost in the mail or something. Once I hit up the DMV (and grovel, please don't make me air-care my car, I drive past the mobile station to work at least twice a week), I'll be picking up Christmas presents, baking cookies, delivering cookies, and then cleaning up after cookies. I'm looking forward to it!

Yeah I moved my desk into our porch so I can look over the garden and get lots of sunlight.

we also grow plants indoors so we have lots of those lightbulbs in the right "happy spectrum" and it's totally true, people tend to gather in the rooms with the plant lights LOL

Just checking in and wanted to say happy holidays to everyone! I'm sorry I've been absolutely terrible at keeping up with healthy pony. I want to give a huge thank you to Prince_Sunbeam for the beautiful card and the fun gifts enclosed--it truly brightened my day and I'm sorry it took me so long to get on here and say thank you!

Crowning_Glory - I'm so sorry your sister-in-law has an inoperable tumor. :( I'm sending lots of good vibes and prayers. You are both in my thoughts.
LBS - So glad you're cough is gone! Sounds like you are doing great accomplishing things! I hope the job hunting will go well.
Shatyr - I'm so sorry about your seasonal depression. I have depression and also eat terribly when depressed. I always feel like it is exhausting pretending so I understand how that can make it feel worse. I'm so glad to hear you are starting to recover.
Ponyfan - congrats on maintaining your Duolingo streak!
Prince_Sunbeam - The gift for your niece sounds awesome! Hope you have a Happy Anniversary on the 23rd!
tailrustedleaf - I always like when I have all the laundry done. Everything being clean and neatly put away just helps! A pony display sounds great! Someday, I would like to make a nice little pony display too.

Happy holidays everyone. Not sure why, but I mo longer get update emails so I get behind. The best part, you all have tried. Taking a step forward is worth it. You may feel sad when you fall back or not make the step, but you reached that step. If you did it once you can do it again and even surpass it!!! Hope to healthy pony starting in Feb. I also have a photo contest I like to do. Just frustrating that I don't get update emails:(

I too am no longer getting Arena emails C_G, though mine were only for messages- though its especially frustrating to miss messages!

Wellp I made it through Christmas only gaining the weight I knew was inevitable. Im typically on a no/super-low carb diet, which is anti-inflammatory. So whenever I eat carbs I immediately gain a few pounds of water weight. After a few days on my normal eating plan I should be back down to my normal weight! Goal achieved :)

I will be posting a new healthy pony soon. I plan to start up for Feb 1. I still don't get forum updates, so things will change a bit. I am also working on my new photo contest!!! Hope to start before Feburary!!! Some of you know the theme, but is will be "By right I Should Queen" yup all to do with princess ponies. I am very loose on terms so if Tex, Pinkie Pie, or  Big Macintosh is your princess/queen in your herd they are in:) a fun heads up to all my healthy pony peeps.

Great job everyone. :) I know I crapped out at the end - busy with custom orders from the bazaar, and then right into the holidays. The year has already started off with a sale (came in during dinner on New Year's Day), and there's a potential custom order coming - buyer is thinking on it.

We also decided to take down the spare bed in the office and move my craft table from my craft/pony room into that space, so it's nice and close in the office and I can use it for crafts/business.

The new round of healthy pony is up. It’s really basic, but I am having communication and funding issues, so I have to keep it simple:)
