Title: POTD 7/9/18 Sunbeam

I just have a store release. She's quite lovely in all her variations!

Post by: RoseNoire on July 09, 2018, 05:51:38 AM: I have two of her, one of which I got yesterday ! The other was my first restoration (apart from simple surface cleaning) and I'm not proud of it, but I suppose I'll just have to manage now, she looks okay.
They are both Italian and I intend to make a better quality restoration for my newcomer. She needs a tail and silver acrylic paint for her 100% gone symbol and I have none of them at the moment. I'm sorry, I didn't clean her up for the picture, she is in her poorest condition.

Her tail comes out very easily.

That's funny cuz I'm also in California and have found Medley and SUNBEAM in the wild but not Moondancer.

Her symbols were rubbed off so I repainted them. I think it was the first repaint I ever did, and it made me feel like Awesome Pony Restorer Extraordinaire :lol:

Whaaa? A SS Sunbeam? She's got to be a custom, right? Or is she a really obscure Nirvana I've never heard of before??

Post by: flutterscotch on July 10, 2018, 07:15:20 AM: It took me at least 4 Sunbeams to get one I liked. I somehow always got them kinda dull, yellowing and with massive symbol rub. There are just some ponies where the pose kills it for me, so the pony has to be in pretty good condition (you can give me mangled garbage in the Crumpet pose and I'll still think it's cute, though).

It's a shame because I had the Sunbeam radio when I was a kid and thought she was beautiful, and she looked so cute on the back card...but when I finally saw one in that dumpy elephant pose I was really bummed.

I finally have an acceptable one (she still has issues though, a slight silvering of glitter and two age spots)

She and Bubbles were actually elected "Ponies of the Week" in my house on Sunday.

Yep! It was a nice clean pizza box, but it's always struck me as a strange and amusing way to package ponies. "Why's there a pizza left in our porch?....oh, it's okay, it's a box of ponies." :lol:

Since I live in snow and ice land. :/ I think she looks better with pony wear on her it hides her pose a little. Still theres nothing wrong in having a alt pose themed sunbeam. :)
