I'm sure you are all aware of the catastrophic fires ravaging Australia since September. An estimated 800 million animals have been affected.

WIRES (Australia's largest wildlife rescue organization) is rescuing and caring for as many sick, injured and orphaned native animals as possible. 

I decided to put the money I was about to spend on a pricey doll, on this organization. I can't bear to look at the news update photos, it is just too sad.

I am totally with you in this!!

guys, if you donate money - send me the reciept. we organized a fundraiser and whoever donates the most to WIRES until the 15th of january gets an original artwork. I do not know how much i can tell about this right now, we posted all info on our instagram accounts!

WIRES is a good adress to donate ( as i donate to them too) but there are SO MANY helping foundations. i want to encourage everybody to look around for this.

thank you so much Galactica for posting about this, it is very humble to put the future of others before yourself! I hope you can still get the doll later in time and it will probably mean a lot more to you. ^^

From Australia, I kindly thank you all for considering a donation to WIRES.  :)

However good they may be though, they can only help animals in the state of New South Wales, and are (due to coverage and celebrity attention) receiving a disproportionately larger amount than organisations covering other states, e.g. Wildlife Victoria (https://www.wildlifevictoria.org.au/). Please think of them as well.

Thank you so much for donating. These last few weeks have been really harrowing. The animal death count is now closer to 1.5 BILLION, and there's still no end in sight. We can't even comprehend those numbers. It's beyond devastating  :cry:

I can't even bear to look at any photos- it is just too too horrible and sad.

There is a pretty good list of all kinds of charities here - you can really take your pick, there are lots of really good ones. I picked WIRES simply because the fires I guess were the worst in that area and they seem like a really good organization but there are so many others...
