Title: Oxy Clean UK Equivalent Plea For Help
Post by: Icecrystalline on January 20, 2012, 10:56:12 AM
Hi there everyone!
I am a bit quizzed, I am looking for a UK equivalent of Oxy-Clean that I can buy easily in the UK,
Also I am after the answer to this question:
I have a beautiful supposed 'white' pony, with bright vibrant hair, she is totally discloured and I would like to clean her up, so, to avoid damaging or discolouring the beautiful vibrancy of her hair, how can I give her an 'Oxy Clean Equivalent' bath?
Thanks!

You want Vanish Oxi Action Crystal White! Its in a tub and I think Tesco do their own generic version too x

You might want to wear some latex gloves as it leaves a bit of a residue on your hands, although if you don't it will make your nail tips super white! x

I use this -  http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=271448983 (http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=271448983)

Cheap and does the job but it can make everything a bit slippery. I always properly wash my ponies in a shampoo/handwash afterwards to get it off them.

You can find it in Tesco with all the washing powders and next to the significantly more expensive "Vanish"!

I ll second Willa....Vanish Oxi Action is pretty much the same stuff as Oxy Clean...it can be a little pricey though and it is rather potent so make sure you are careful with it!

Hi,

If you have a poundland near you (and who doesn't these days!) they do one called Wizz Oxy. Obviously, it only costs a quid, and it works great on ponies and darling daughter's grubby white school socks.

While I'm rather new to restoring ponies, I've had lovely results so far with vanish oxi action.
Cleaned them right up without removing symbols or eyes, nor did it discolor any manes.
There are colors that are more sensitive then others from what I've gathered though, you might want to check if that of your pony's hair is prone to fading or bleeding.

Thanks everyone! :D I think I will be going with Vanish Oxy Action as so many people have said it is really good!
Thank you all!

I use the Vanish sometimes. I've had luck with lots of different laundry soakers, although the more expensive brands seem to work better.
