I figured this should get its own thread :silly:
I'd like to host a pony meet while I have the chance (this might be my last year to do so) :) I was thinking sometime in May, but early-mid June would be ok too. I know this may be a bit of short notice, so I definitely wouldn't be offended if someone else hosted another WI meet later this year ;)
I'm located in Oregon, WI (15-20 minutes south of Madison, http://www.bestplaces.net/images/city/oregon_wi.gif ) and I wouldn't have a problem picking people up if they're relatively nearby.
I would be hosting this at my grandma's house, and there should be plenty of space/chairs. There are no animals there, but there had been a dog staying there for quite some time (just a head's up in case you're super sensitive allergy-wise like me).
ETA: Aaand the date of the meet will be June 1st! :awake:
Where?:
*County Road B, Oregon, WI (PM me for the exact address and what to look for)
When?:
*Saturday June 1st!
*The start time is 10am, roughly ;) It's perfectly fine to get there a little bit later if you need to.
*If you have a long drive back, you are welcome to stay the night if you need to :)
What to bring?:
*Ponies! There should be plenty of space for you to bring ponies to sell or trade :)
*Something to eat! (optional) Lunch/dinner will be pot luck style.
*A WRAPPED gift (optional)- for the gift exchange. You only need to bring one if you want to participate, but it must be wrapped ;) More detailed rules further down (reply #12). As for what it can be, anything ~$10 or less in value should be fine. It can be pony or non-pony.
-
Madison is totally do-able for me! It might actually be closer to me than the MN pony meet this year! I'll look at the calendar and come back to clicky on some dates. My mother-in-law takes us on a NorthShore vacation every year, and it's sometime in May.
Thanks for jumping on this, Glacia!
-
I hope you can make it :)
I've only been to one meet myself, so I'd welcome ideas/suggestions with this too :good: I know name-tags are immensely helpful, so I'll try to get those for the meet.
Does anyone have any ideas for games/activities? I can bring my perler supplies. My grandma's backyard is huge too (we used to set up a volleyball net and play at family gatherings, though I'm not sure where the net went or how to set it up) if that helps gives anyone think of something. :awake:
-
I already voted for the dates that work for me. Hopefully we can get this planned. :)
-
I love badminton- I wonder if a fakie or McPony would work for badminton? I've never tried it, but I'll bet some of the McPonies would work!
I have a couple fun game ideas from past MN meets, I'll be happy to bring them to the WI meet. Seaponey, no cheating. (I'll switch them up a little, don't worry!)
-
If the dates work, I'd love to come meet the WI pony peeps!
-
Just got the 'ok' for people to crash at my grandma's overnight if they have a long drive home too :)
-
Well, Gusty, no cheating for you either. LOL!
-
We could do some sort of gift exchange maybe? people would only have to participate if they wanted to!
also, I play a mean badminton ;) watch out!!
-
I'd be up for a gift exchange of sorts :frolic:
-
Me too. :)
-
Ooh, I like it! Are we thinking about $10 value, a pony and extras? Or just whatever you want to include? Whatever it is, I'm totally in!
-
So, for the gift exchange (tiny swap?), if we're going to include ponies then there is an interesting way we could play this ;) We did this at a couple of my family gatherings and it was really fun.
How it works is that everyone who brings something (must be wrapped!) draw numbers to determine turn order, then sit in a circle with all the presents in the middle. The person who got #1 goes first and picks any present they want out of the pile and open it. Person #2 can pick a present out of the pile too, OR they can steal person #1's present. If they steal, person #1 has to pick a new present from the pile. Once both of them have a present, person #3 gets their turn and can pick one from the pile, or either of #1 or #2's presents. Here's where it can start to get crazy. If they steal from #1 for example, #1 can then take #2's present and #2 will then have to take something from the pile.
Basically, people can either pick something from the pile, or steal from someone else who has a present already. You can't steal from a person who stole from you in the same turn, and once you have had the same gift 3 times, it's yours and no one can steal it from you. Once all the presents in the middle have been claimed, the game is over~
I do hope that makes sense :) Thoughts?
-
Most of those dates work for me, I would love to be able to attend, and I won't cheat at the games either :P
I love the gift exchange/tinyswap idea, that sounds like a lot of fun! I'd be in!
-
That sounds like a great plan, Glacia. My wish list is a little finicky, so it will be nice to have a couple choices! Good times! (Hi, Seaponey!)
-
My wantlist is rather finicky too, so I figured this way it'd work out better for people :) I'm looking forward to that game already :frolic:
Also, I don't know what there will be for food at my grandma's, so if anyone wants to bring food feel free :good: I'm not much of a cook, but I'll probably bake cookies or cake or something. Does anyone have any food allergies? Preferences?
As for actual food places, about 10 minutes away from my grandma's house, there's a McDonald's, Burger King, Subway, a Chinese place I'm not very familiar with, Pizza Pit, and Pizza Hut. :awake:
-
Glacia, do you have enough space for a potluck? I make a mean quiche! (mmm, bacon!) I can also make it without bacon, but I'm afraid vegan is out. It's eggs, cream, and cheese. It's anti-vegan.
-
Yep, there's plenty of space at my grandma's house :) We used to host family gatherings there of 20+ people.
-
I voted on dates finally, May is still out for me with planting with the farm and graduation from college. June is do able though if I end up going to pony fair too I probably won't be spending much!
-
June 15th looks like it's winning so far, but the other June weekends are close :) I think it's pretty safe to say this meet will be sometime in June.
Does anyone have any food allergies/preferences by the way? :awake: Myself, I have no food allergies, but I am a picky eater :yikes: I have a strong preference for meat, breads, chips, dairy (cheese <3 ) and sweets ;) I avoid nuts, and veggies, but don't mind some fruits.
I'm starting to get the hang of making snickerdoodles, so I could make some of those for the meet, or cupcakes (probably white confetti cake mix). I could bring some packages of popcorn too.
-
I have some allergies but not the point I cannot be around foods--just don't eat them. So only certain fruits, veggies and nuts work for me. I do not eat cows, pigs etc or fishy stuff.
Poulty is delicious. Bread is a must. This is Wisco so there better be a LOT of cheese.
-
I do not have any food allergies. I make delicious bread! :) Lately I've been using up the crappy beer people left at our house in beer bread to get rid of it! I'm also rather decent at making sweets seems to run in the family for baking. Though we usually end up with an abundance of sweets at our pony meets! I think I'll just bring a loaf of bread and honey with :) if I feel creative I'll bring another dish to pass.
-
I am not much for cooking but I can bake! I could bring a little bit of everything as far as that goes. :)
-
My only food needs will be what this pesky new life inside me decides it wants. Yesterday I was looking for Easter candy, and it appears that my pregnant belly does not want chocolate. I'm not sure whose child this is, but it can't me MINE!
I'm still thinking quiche, though I might make it without bacon if enough people don't like bacon. It's still awesome without it, and cheaper to make!
I also learned a recipe for an awesome appetizer, it also has cheese, so it's Wisconsin approved. Is it legal to import cheese over the state lines, or do I have to buy my cheese in WI? LOL!
And June is perfect for me- everything is planted and growing, and though there are obviously weeds to be pulled, it's not quite like planting time. Maybe the spinach will be ready by then, but there shouldn't be too much for my poor husband to deal with all by himself.
-
June 15 is sounding really good to me. I agree about the planting season being busy, as we usually plant a large garden. Although it might not be as big this year because I usually do most of the gardening, and by the time harvest comes I'll have a pretty big belly :)
Mmmm Quiche is sounding really good to me!
No food allergies here, although alcohol, coffee, and any raw meats is off my list. I am not a baker, but I have a recipe for a really good veggie/chip dip (with cheese :) ). And my spring salad I usually bring to pot lucks is always a hit.
Considering I have a little ways to drive most of what I bring will have to be able to travel well.
Also I'm wondering about whats available for nearby hotels, because my husband and son will be coming with me, mostly just for the ride. It's kinda a mini vacation for them too because while I'm at the fair, they stay at the hotel and swim! So the sooner a date is set the better :)
-
I personally don't drink alcohol, but I have no problem if people bring it as long as they're sober when they leave :)
I'm pretty sure there aren't any hotels in Oregon, so I'd look for ones in Madison. I know there's a Sheraton and a Day's Inn, both near one of the main highways in Madison (Highway 12), and each of them is (roughly) ~15 minutes from my grandma's house depending on traffic. I'd personally avoid ones that are 'downtown' or super close to the capitol, because there are a mess of 1-way streets there and it can be a pain to navigate sometimes.
http://maps.google.com/maps?um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=hotels+in+madison+wi&fb=1&gl=us&hq=hotels&hnear=0x8806536d3a2019ff:0x4e0cfcb5ba484198,Madison,+WI&sa=X&ei=NpBXUcuVNOa50gHp2YHwAQ&ved=0CM4BELYD
My grandma lives on County Road B, which is right off of County Road MM on one end, and Highway 51 on the other. County Road MM connects to Highway 14 in a few places too, and both 14 and 51 connect to Highway 12 :awake:
-
Thank you for the info Glacia471!!!
-
No problem :)
Also, just a reminder for people to vote if they haven't yet (and poke other nearby pony people to vote if they can come :silly: Especially if they aren't so active and may not know about the meet yet) so we can get a date settled~ :good:
-

I'll go round up the inactive gals on facespace :p
-
I lack a FB account so that would be a great help JazzMatazz :) Thanks!
-
thanks Jazz for the info! Thanks Glacia for hosting! I voted for june 15 as the prior week we're on vacation so those two weekends are out. I have no food allergies and will make anything that travels well. I'll share the info with Amanda as well since I don't see her replying yet.
-
June 1st or 15th work for me :)
-
Yay, the dates that I chose are winning! :P
-
I can bring food too! As for what... hmmm! I'll make something yummy :P you can never have enough dip!
-
Have we settled on a date yet? :)
-
Not just yet, do we know any WI/IL/MN or other nearby people who haven't visited this thread/haven't voted yet? :awake:
-
Well, I know a couple members from my part of Wisconsin have not posted in here... Not sure if they are planning on going or not though.
-
You should give them a poke :) I want to give everyone who may attend the chance to vote on when they'd like it to be.
-
:cheese:
-
I'd love to come! :) I'll be at my family reunion Father's Day weekend, but if I can still get a ride to the meetup, I should be able to make any other time as long as I have enough notice to take the day off work.
-
Looks like June 1st and 15th are tied now :awake: I'd like to get a date finalized soon, so I guess I'll be off poking people to vote :silly:
Also, at the suggestion of Aurora in another thread, we're going to try for a Rapunzel (or heck, any prized pony would be fun) group shot :) I also don't mind taking people on a little field trip (10 min or so drive) to my house to see my collection and my 2 cats :lovey:
-
Group shot?
Any luck getting more votes? :)
-
Not yet, they're still tied. :awake:
And yep, a Punzie group shot inspired by the recent Rapunzel thread :) Although, it could be fun to do a group shot of pretty much any pony on the rarer side too. I believe the MN meet will be aiming for a Punzie group shot now as well :good:
-
Ah okay, I had no idea what you were talking about, finally read the Rapunzel thread... No Rapunzel for me.
-
Hello! I need to ask off of work soon and I was wondering if a date was set :) Thanks! :D
-
Thank you for pointing me this way Glacia :) I don't work weekends, but my husband almost always does during the summer. I'd love to attend, it would be my first pony meet.
May I ask about kids? If I can't find a day sitter I may be stuck because of the hubby's crazy summer schedule.
-
Original post has been updated and a date has been picked! :frolic: The poll was super close :drunk: June 1st will be here before you know it, time to tell the employers I need that weekend off ;)
Any thoughts on a 'start time' by the way? I'm fine with any time after 10am :silly: And how about any other games/activities? :awake:
@mermaid_splash- I'm not sure if anyone else is bringing kids, but if you can't find a sitter I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem :)
-
I should be able to make June 1st if I can get time off work! :)
-
It's my daughter's dance recital that whole weekend, so I won't be there. Have fun everyone!! It looks like MN meet is going to be in August, so maybe we'll see some of you there!
-
I'll see what I can work out. Anybody have any custom requests...?
-
Oooh, customs :frolic: I have a wide pool of custom ideas in mind actually, what baits do you have? :awake: I'd be primarily interested in babies and Posey-pose ones.
Any thoughts on an official 'start time' by the way? :relaxed:
ETA: I threw together a rough signature, but if anyone can make a better one please let me know :silly: I have no photoshop skills and my abilities with Paint are limited :drunk:
-
As far as start time, definitely after 10 AM. It's a bit of drive for me and I am not a morning person. :)
If anyone needs a ride from my part of Wisconsin, let me know.
-
June first is fast approaching! I'm trying to get 200 acres planted still and finishing up my last semester of college it's been a hectic month so far! By the end of May I'll be scrambling to get my trade box ready for the meetup!
-
I finished 2 custom babies already... Still open for requests...
-
I think a 10 am start is good- that gives people time to get there late, (which we will) and get the food set up. I found an awesome dip recipe, and it needs crock pot time- so reserve a plug-in for me.
Are we still doing the White Elephant Swap?
And I'm totally up for dragging Rapunzel & Mimic halfway across the state!
I'll also bring the game I brought to last year's MN meet, it's pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I'll see if I can come up with a couple more games. Is there a prize table? Or should I have specific prizes in mind for each of the games?
My in-laws are planning a yard sale for that weekend, but if I can't make it they'll understand. It might mean I have to sacrifice the next weekend to them, but that's ok- it's a good sacrifice for ponies!
-
I have no problem if people get there later :) Just as long as we know who all is coming so that everyone who wants to participate in the swap and such can get to do so.
Oh and just PM me for the address :awake:
@Aurora- You're bringing your Mimic too? I need to find where mine went then :silly: Should we just call it a 'rare/grail pony shoot'? :good:
-
If you decide you want to do a Mimic group shot, I can bring mine along. :)
-
I'd love to try to attend a pony meet someday. I live in Sussex, which isn't too far away from Oregon. It was great to find out that quite a few people in the forum are from Wisconsin. I never knew! I've attended many Wisconsin/Illinois doll meets before-- I think it would be a fun change in toy gears hanging out with pony peeps. :)
-
You're welcome to join us at the meet if you can make it :lovey:
-
Yes, join us! :)
-
Join us~ there will be cookies~ :silly:
-
Aw, thank you for the invite and encouragement to join in on the fun. :P I feel very welcome. (The cookies are a nice extra incentive, haha.) I'll see if I can make it. I don't drive (my husband does) so it's harder traveling out of town sometimes. I'll see what I can do-- and if I can't make it this time, hopefully I can sometime soon!
-
If you decide you want to do a Mimic group shot, I can bring mine along. :)
I can bring mine! :)
But yeah, asked off from work for the day, so hopefully that goes through fine.
-

I have a couple I can bring also :)

A couple? Wow!
-
Still torn about coming. I know mlp4me won't travel alone so I feel like I'd let her down if I said no to going with. But I still work nights the first week in June so I'm going to be exhausted and it may also be the very last time I get to do the Bark in the Park fundraiser with either of my dogs since they are so old. I don't have a whole lot of time during the school year for making customs or anything like that.
-
Bark in the Park! I have not done that in years, had completely forgotten about it with all of my time away from Wisconsin. A couple of my canines and I did a couple different walks and runs in Arizona while I lived there though.
So, are we doing a Mimic group shot now?
-
I'm up for a Mimic shot too :) Which reminds me, we should probably tie ribbons or something around our ponies or on their tails for these group shots so we don't mix up who belongs to who :good:
-
I'm going to put twist-ties around their legs, I 'll try to find the ones that have room for my name. They might look a little funny in the pictures, but it's better than having them get mixed up!
-
So... I would like to make a suggestion. :) In addition to a Mimic (or whoever else) group photo, how about a boy pony too?
-
I second this boy pony idea.
So we've got requests to bring:
Punzie
Mimic
unspecified boy pony/ies (putting request for Barnie and whomever else)
Since I have neither a punzie nor a mimic I simply must bring a boy pony/ies. bah ha ha ha.
-
Well, if you don't mind a punzie with crazy hair I have one I could bring :P
And I'll throw in some boy ponies to bring too.
I'll put ribbons in their tails or mark them somehow so they won't get lost in the photo shoots :)
Any other requests? How about a nirvana picture? - I would only have one to bring- my yellow Medley, but I would love to see other nirvanas!!
Or a custom pony pic?! I don't have any that I have personally made, but I could bring a couple of my favorites that I've had made?
And does anyone collect pony puzzles? I have a couple I'm going to sell, but if no one is interested in them, they are going to ebay.
-
I do collect the puzzles, I have a lot of them, but I usually don't mind having doubles. I like to put them together when I'm feeling a little freaked out.
What sort of boy? We could each bring a boy and see if we end up with the whole set! I don't want to drag ALL my boys- I have almost all of them, I'm just missing a couple Mountain Boys. I can bring 5, and Wigwam says he'd like to come.
And a few years ago LadyArcher had a group shot with as many persona ponies as she could get together. I'd love to do that- I have a couple lovely ones to choose from, and they don't get any adventure, so they would appreciate it. Also, I don't have to put any ribbons on them to mark that they are mine- I'm pretty sure I have the only ones! LOL!
-

I finally have a custom of my persona I'd love in on the photoshoot this year!
-
Well, no persona pony for me...
As far as boys, I can bring any of the Mountain Boys, Big Brothers (Pat Pend and Non-Pat Pend), Baby Brothers (Playtime/Peek-A-Boo/Family), Daddies (all four releases), Colombian Daddy (just yellow), Lucky, Clipper, Tux, customs, re-hairs, Sportstime, Baby Schoolbag, Daddy Berrytown, hm...I think that's all of them. Let me know if there is a specific one I should bring. :)
-
Baby Schoolbag is a boy? And Sportstime? Sneaky ponies!
I have some bad news. I won't be able to make it- some family stuff came up, and though I love you guys and would REALLY like to make it to the meet, my pesky family comes first. I'll be there in spirit, though- I'll take Baby Schoolbag with me to remind me of the awesome discussion Himmie and I were going to have about the secretly boy ponies that I have been calling girls this whole time. Poor things!
No, really, do their backcards call them boys, or did you decide it? I've never seen any of the Euro backcards, so I truly don't know!
-
Here's what I'm looking for:
My wantlist is in my signature. It is up to date.
I am always looking for Euro release ponies and nirvanas. Any condition, I am not picky.
Baity baby ponies, any.
Here's what I'm bringing so far (yes, there will be pics to come) I will be adding to this as I hopefully complete things.
alternate-haired bride with custom matching baby
custom baby tuneful
custom baby surprise I'm not telling what it is
custom adult surprise I'm not telling what it is
alternate haired dancing butterflies
alternate haired sunspot
custom baby bowtie
A tote full of tons of common ponies, and other ponies from my sales.
Due to a lengthy drive I will bring chips and salsa to pass. Possibly cookies too.
Do we have the forum up and running?
-
No, really, do their backcards call them boys, or did you decide it? I've never seen any of the Euro backcards, so I truly don't know!
Yes, they are really guys. Based on the comics, they were referred to as being boys. Baby Schoolbag was actually drawn with the Clydesdale feet, SportsTime was not though. My fiance still does not believe me that they are boys. He always asks, "Are you sure? Well then why can't this one be a boy?"
Mlp4me, surprise babies?! Have I seen one of said surprises, or are there more?
I am not really sure what I will have in the way of sales, maybe some. However I have been selling as much as possible lately.
-
Mlp4me, surprise babies?! Have I seen one of said surprises, or are there more?
Yes, you saw surprise baby. ;) I'm also working on a 6" ceramic clydesdale painted up like Barnie...
I have no extra money so all I have are trades. I was hoping for requests, but I'll just make things as inspiration comes and hope that somebody likes them...
-
Awesome, I am looking forward to seeing that beast in person. Send me a photo of ceramic Barnie too.
I do not do customs so I do not have much to offer. Ha. I might have a couple alternate re-hairs.
-
I'm still undecided. I'd love to go if I could get rid of some of my extras, but most are common ponies. Is anybody looking to buy porcelains loose and not mib?
-
I'd love to buy porcelins.
-
I'm still undecided. I'd love to go if I could get rid of some of my extras, but most are common ponies. Is anybody looking to buy porcelains loose and not mib?
Depending on what ones you have available, quite possibly. :)
-
There are commons that have been eluding me. I'll be mostly trading/selling this time as this summer is going to be my first time at pony fair!
-
@Aurora- Nooooo, that's disappointing :yikes: Well, you're still welcome to come by for a visit some other time anyway ;)
You'll have to fill me in on those game ideas you had too.
As for my sales, I'll have most of what's in my sales thread (various G1 stuff, nothing all that rare), a NC/Spanish Posey (a bit on the TLC side), some G3s once I get them sorted out. I think I have the G1 carousel game (the one with the stampers) somewhere too, and I got an extra small Cotton Candy pomander recently. Oh and perlers of course ;) Anyone have any perler pony requests?
A little more allergy information- I do have 2 cats, so if we do end up taking a mini-tour of my house/collection be advised ;)
As for buying porcelains, there are a few I might be interested in, but I'll primarily be looking at customs, Dream Beauties, G2s, and maybe some G3s or G1 upgrades.
-
I'd be interested in some porcelains - box or not! A lot of the ones I have are broken and I'm always looking for upgrades.
As for sales, I don't have a lot, mostly some g3's. Maybe a few G1's if I can get them cleaned up.
Anyone looking for baits?
-
As far as I know, I'm able to make it! My schedule for that week hasn't been posted yet, but I submitted the request a while ago. Do we have any requests as to ponies I should bring? If not I'll probably just bring a few favorites to allow them to "visit." :P
I really don't have much in the way of sales to speak with, but if anyone's looking for a Rainbow Crystal Castle, I have one. I don't know what I'd ask for it, but I'd be just as happy trading for something. And I'd love for someone to take it off my hands without having to ship the huge thing! Anyone who plans to be there, let me know if you're interested!
-
I have a few Dream Beauties that I can bring if anyone wants to see them. I have been holding off on selling them because I have not felt like shipping them...
I have G1 and G3 baits, may have other G1's to bring but will have to see at the time.
-
Which ones do you have? I think I just need a couple of the perfume ones and all of the Trim n Grow ones :) I may be interested in a few upgrades though, a few of mine have faded hair.
-
I have no idea. There are ponies from my childhood. I can take a photo of them tomorrow so you can ID them.
-
I can't guarantee I'll know their names, I'm still awful at them :yikes: Maybe look on Dream Valley? Which reminds me, I should do that myself so I actually know the names of the ones I still need :drunk:
-
Ha, yeah. I just have not had the desire to figure out who they are since I do not plan to keep them or get more. I do know one has wings and one is orange...that is honestly all I remember.
-
I'll be bringing a tub of G1s and G3s. Most of my G1s are still listed in the last sales thread I had up... would have to dig up the thread. But literally one of the last threads I started.
-
I'm clear to go to the meetup! I'm planning on bringing a few favorite ponies and some ponywear and accessories. I may also bring my ponies for sale along too, even though I don't have anything special. :P
-
@reanna- As long as it'll fit in my Corolla, go for it :silly:
Also, just a reminder for people to PM me for the address, partially for privacy's sake and partially because google maps has the (slightly) wrong location, so I want to be able to show people exactly where to go :)
I'm going to be aiming to be there by 9:30-10am. You do NOT have to get there that early if you don't want to, but do let me know if you are coming so we don't start the swap (or any other games we come up with) without you ;) I can also give you my cell # if you would like.
-
Oh yeah, I will be sending you a PM. :)
I am debating on "stealing" my grandmother's Scion for the day. I am planning to sell my Corolla to my fiance and my trucky gets rather sad gas mileage.
-
Yeah Himmie we've got to get some final details worked out... Like how early are we gonna get up? LOL.
Does anybody want me to bring any G1 MLP/Transformers posters?
-
How did I totally miss the response to this thread? Fail...
Anyway! Yes, we should probably work out some of those details. The time is fast approaching!
As of today, I guess some of my family from Costa Rica is coming to visit from May 30-June 3. Convenient. I already made it clear to everyone that I would be gone on the 1st. Which is fine, it gets me out of one day of clothes shopping. :faint:
-
I am bumping in to add a few sale items:
Baby Bowtie

Handfull of re-hairs are coming along too... I didn't get as much done yet as I wanted to... but I'm still working...
Glacia I am so very interested in Spanish Posey...

Barnacle!!! gah! I adopted your baby Barnie last year... I think I see who i'm adopting if I get there first :p
-
:drunk: Gah! I can't believe the meet is only a week from tomorrow! :drunk: Thank you 3-day weekend, I'm gonna need it :drunk: I need to get my extra ponies priced and decide on what I'm gonna gift for the swap, though I do have some ideas already :awake:
-
I was really hoping to have the next week to prepare some sale ponies but with the rather unexpected visit from the family, I doubt I will have much to bring. :(
-
Also wanted to ask...
Anyone interested in Care Bears (plush bears and cousins, small figures, a few [near] mint in box bears), vintage Strawberry Shortcake stuff, Polly Pocket, Magic Nursery Pets, Furskins, Pound Purries, and stuff?
I have also been making a list of ponies that I can bring in my sales thread. :)

I may be interested in small Care Bear figures! I have a few of the plush toys but I'm running out of room for larger stuff. XD
I just have one small bag of sales stuff and it's mostly restore/bait, but I'd be happy to bring it for trading purposes if anybody finds anything they want. :)

The really small ones or the poseable ones? I have a few cases with the small ones here. I could dig out the poseables too probably.
-
I'll have a MIB G2 Magic Dragonfly for sale if anyone is interested :) I also have a couple Show Stables that are far from complete and have issues, I have some G3s I need to sort through still though :drunk: I've been making progress, but there's still so much to be done :drunk:
-
I am getting some G1's packed up and ready to go. Nothing exciting but might as well bring them, just in case. :)
Glacia, would you PM me with the address information? I know I am going to forget.
I was hoping to finish some alternate re-hairs to bring but it does not appear that will happen. This unexpected visit from some family has really messed up my week...
-
I'm always open for baits Reanna-mator.
Gotta get some more pics up before Friday...
No takers on mlp posters or transformer posters?
I've procured some tortilla chips and dip... White elephant gift is good to go... Gotta finish up these last few customs... Time flies!
-
I've got a quick question about the swap/white elephant gift - Are we including ponies for this, or is it what ever we feel like including in a gift? Just curious, because the last WI meet I went to it was totally random.
And I've got about a 4 1/2 hour drive so the food I bring will have to be travel friendly. Unless I come across a supermarket/walmart and can stop in to pick something up on my way there :)
Does anyone collect Breyer horses? - I've got a couple for sale, but if no one else collects those, they will be staying home.
Also has an official start time been set? I thought I saw something said about a 10 or 11 start time, but I just want to be sure.
I can hardly believe there's only 5 days left! I'm hoping to get a few more ponies cleaned up and ready to bring:)
-
For the wrapped swap, I think with the 'stealing' format it would be ok to steal ponies, because the gifts will be shuffled around enough were people can go after ones they need. Non-pony gifts would be fine too :) I think a value of $10 or less would be acceptable, just make sure they're wrapped! Half the fun is not knowing what's in the pile, the other half is stealing what you really want :silly: Concealed in a gift bag should work too so long as no one peaks :ninja:
As for the start time, I think it's going to be a loose 10am start, if you get there an hour or two later then that's fine too :) My only concern is making sure people don't get left out of the swap, or that no one shows up at my grandma's while everyone else is seeing my collection at my house 10 minutes away :awake:
I don't collect Breyers myself, same with Carebears. I'm good on posters too. I loooove chips though :lovey: I'll likely be making snickerdoodles, perhaps cake or brownies too depending on how much time I have this week, hopefully they last until the meet :lookround:
-
Oops, I think I totally missed the white elephant/swap thing. Can someone quick give me the lowdown so I have something suitable to bring? :)
-
The first page has a description of the format/rules, but I don't think there's been any real guidelines set as for what to use for it :) I think $10 or less in value should be fine. Ponies, knickknacks or sweets are what I think are likely going to be what people bring for it :good:
-
EEE Almost here! I went to look at the calendar and was like What?! Wi pony meet is this weekend! I'll have to get my stuff ready to go today. I have a card table full of sale/trades. I'll have to whip something up for food, oh this weekend shall be a fun way to fight our rainy gloom!
-
I'm packing up a with ponies and ponywear to bring-- a few favorites and a few rares that I thought might be fun to play with. And if she arrives before Saturday, I'll be bringing Baby Posey! :)
I'm going to try to restrict the stuff I might possibly sell or trade to one bag, but I am still trying to get rid of my spare Crystal Rainbow Castle, as long as Glacia wouldn't mind if I brought it along.
I'd be happy to let it go for $5 trade. There are a couple stickers that will have to be scraped off it, but once we figure out how to expand the second floor without a wand it'll be great for displaying. :) As long as it's all right for me to bring it, please let me know if you're interested in taking it off my hands.
Other than that, I'll have a bag of ponies (mostly G3s and baity/tlc G1s) to browse through.
... and shortly I plan on heading out to the grocery store to pick up ingredients to bring some snacks along! Cupcakes seem like a safe choice, and I may bring a tray of deviled eggs. Does that sound all right?
-
Does anyone want a very yellowed Baby Lullaby Nursery? Or a decent shape Perfume Puff Salon? I'd do a trade for the salon the Nursery I'd let go for free. I'd like to know before hand as they take up so much space

I'd love the nursery! I've been wanting one for a while. Even though you said you'd give it away, I'd be happy to let you browse my sales bag and pick a couple items if anything strikes your fancy!
-
@reanna- as long as it'll fit in my car, feel free to bring it :) In regards to the cupcakes, well, I may have to thoroughly inspect them before they go in my car :silly:
Does anyone have any perler pony requests by the way? :awake: I have some pre-made still, but feel free to let me know if there are any specific perler ponies I should try :good:
-
Sounds good!
The cupcakes will be strawberry with cream cheese frosting and sprinkles... and maybe a cute surprise on top! X3
-
Ahhhh!!! Only 2 days! :newpony: I'm not super duper over excited freaking out yet...
I don't have any rare ponies to bring unless anyone wants to meet some re-haired Argies...
-
Haha I just realized (again) about this 2 days ago :P I'm super excited to come! I don't have much for sale or trade :\ but I'll bring a couple things I have.
Also, I have a bunch of complete MLP poster sets that were at Walmart if anyone is interested
-
I'm crossing my fingers that we have a lovely rain free day tomorrow!

One last check in for the night! I think I have everything ready to go. Going to spend the night with friends in Stoughton, it's been awhile since I've seen them and it takes me to a nice halfway there point! See everyone in the morning! I'm also bringing a few odds and ends 90s toys, disney pins, etc for sale/trade. Though mostly ponies and I'll have a few g1 puzzles
-
Puzzles! :frolic:
-
Quick check in for me - finally made it to Stoughton (took a tad bit longer to get here than expected, the car didn't want to cooperate and we had to turn around to get a different one)
See everyone in the morning!
-

Me too! I'm a pretty shy person IRL but I'm very excited!

I'm rather shy in person too, but at least we all know we already have something in common to talk about :)

So I've been thinking about it...and I kinda want to go to the Con this year >.< but I'd need to secure transportation and lodging first. Would anyone here be able to carpool with me and/or have room for me? I'd be willing to drive and I'll give my fair share of room/gas money :) Let me know! It'll make my decision if I go or not!
-
Haha. I love that Peachy is in the background of those photos!
Did anyone else take photos? I have a couple to post...eventually.
