so I recently got hold of my childhood Cherry Merry Muffin and I'm soo happy to have one again!
as you can see she needs a bit of cleaning up, but I'm concerned about her hair. it's crimped and I would hate to wash it out when I give her a quick gentle shampoo. I've really only ever worked with MLP hair, and never tried washing crimped hair. but hers is pretty messy (though a lot better than most CMM dolls I've seen for sale) and I'd love to clean her up.
is the factory perm on a CMM going to hold up to a washing?

I feel like if you're just going to condition there shouldn't be a problem, I've had pony factory curls still remain after conditioning and combing so long as I set it back afterward. but maybe if you're worried you could try it on just a little bit at the base of the head?

Just use cold water and it should be fine. Good luck!

Not sure about crimps specifically, but 20+ year old doll hair tends to retain its style pretty well. My Cherry (1st Ed.) retained her factory curls and scent through conditioning + warm water, but like kCherry said, perhaps err on the side of caution and use cold water ^.^
