I have been meaning to join these for the last few rounds, so months! We are doing a wellness challenge at work right now and I admit that I have not been doing too well. Half the time I don't know which week we are on and what we should be doing until about half way through the next week. Me and a coworker were a week behind for some reason.
What are you goals to reach in 3 months?(you can choose how many goals you want)
1. Drink 64 oz of water every day
2. Get an activity in at least 5 days a week-walk, bike ride
3. At least 2500 steps if not more
4. Track my meals on my Fitbit app
5. Do my PT exercises twice a day for the first set, and once every hour for the 2nd set
6. Do one productive activity (need to make a list) each week if not more
These are quite a few and I don't know if I will succeed but these are things that I have had in the back of my mind but not really achieving them. Hopefully, this holds me accountable.
Artemesia, welcome back. Sorry about the break up:( you have some great goals many of us should be thinking about too:) I am not a smoker, but I do have binge eating habits. I drink water in hopes to trick myself that I am thirsty not hungry. We can get through this together.
A temprature blanket is knit/crochet project. I am sure you could sew it.
You take any month out of avatar and you record the temprature for each day. I suggest same time. In my case I chose 10:00am. Then you record the temprature for the days. That temp made you pick the color. I have to find my color chart...its somewhere:p
So on June 1st it was 91 degrees (not on my blanket) so 91 degrees means I will use my bright pink yarn. June 2nd it was 60 degrees, so my color chart says to use orange.
I think on page 2 or 3 the picture of my blanket.

This link will help explain the blanket too:) it says a month is recommended, but choose to do a WHOLE year:) it will be the size of a queen bed:)
Started the walking program at work yesterday. My stupid pedometer reset itself twice so I think I did around 9000 steps.
It's great seeing everyone working towards their goals. I've been slacking in the last week, need to get out of that. So today I'm going to move my butt and not sit on it all day
-Got a craft item to pack up for shipping, and paperwork to do for it.
-Map out social media posts for the week (Twitter and Facebook).
-Maybe some craft photography, if I can squeeze it in.
-Dishes, maybe some vacuuming.
No worries on the novel...i do it too:) as for exercise I have a max trainer bow flex, walk, I also do a sequence of simple items. So 30sec plank, 10 reps of different style of crunches, run in place, ECT. Most of this is in front of a tv, as i get board and helps me work out for 30 min, same amount as a tv show:)It looks like we won't officially be trying until after our honeymoon. The plan was originally to start on our honeymoon but we're going to Florida and they have Zika virus there. My OB said that once bitten, it can live in a man's reproductive tract for up to 6 months. So, now we have to wait for testing when we get back. It's annoying but better safe than sorry.
GOOD LUCK towards pregnancy:) I am in your boat too. It's why I want to keep myself moving, as they say it helps a growing healthy baby:) you can do it. I tend to have a g4 pony with me, so I can play with its hair when I feel my anxiety is unmanageable .
I also have a planner. I write down what I want to do in a day and cross off the task I finish at the end of the day:) I am not awesome at it, but helps most days:)
I walked more than 22,000 steps yesterday. That's 11 miles. Thanks, Comic Con...

I'm having trouble getting back on track. :( I want to be a healthy pony.

Get to feeling better ponyfan....300 pages that is awesome. Thanks beating a novel!!!
Glitterball great job on the hammer work. Tulagirl got me a water bottle and it helps me drink more too:)
22000 steps wow pokey. Man I want to go to comic con sooo bad.
Traveled to the Rennicance fair. So no knitting, healthy eating, or piano. I do give myself 1 point for all the walking. I ate and drank so many calories, that my walking really did not do much. In my travels I discovered a closer Rennicance festival, and my hopes is to sell my knitting next year:) ambitions, but my dream goal for me....monday hopefully I can start reaching my goals
Stromness well done on those point days!!!! Got some great scores.
Remember 1st to post on page 10 gets a special prize from me:)
Glitterball-sounds like you are working hard! The house you are cleaning, is it your old house? Seems lime a lot of work!It was my Granny's. As a WW2 veteran, she immigrated to the UK with nothing - then worked hard to pass her exams and build up a career in psychiatric nursing + teaching; she had gone through so much in life, which in turn left her as a bit of a hoarder - she threw nothing away, even when it decayed... so lots of stuff for me to sort through before I dump it (little boxes of money, jewellery hidden about etc) It has taught me to *try* to live a more simple, less cluttered life (very difficult!)
I have been unsuccessful the last few days in the water department. I don't know why, but I seem to peter out at the last bottle and a half I am trying to drink. I have been getting my PT in about 75% of the time. I went back today and found out that I have 3 herniated discs and arthritis on the last three levels of my spine-S1, L5'and L4. So, they started me on traction twice a week and betamethasone TENS for the pain. I hope it stops here! I can't take this anymore!
Good to hear from you:) congrats on the driving test...a 2 weeks off that is a dream for me. I would be doing better with this cold, if work would let me call in to just recoup. 9 hour days just don't help out:p
Congrats Artemesia Floc on passing your driving test. Crowning Glory I'm sorry you're not feeling well and weren't on your birthday. That isn't fun. I've been sick on my birthday once and it was so bad I couldn't even enjoy my presents.
I am not feeling well again either and I've noticed I seem to eat healthier when I'm not feeling well. I had a large chef salad for lunch and walked 3 laps around the mall. The last lap was really short.
Ponyfan
Congrats Crowning Glory on getting so many of your goals for the day completed and earning your pony watch. Congrats Kiwi on getting the most votes and winning so much for the rescue.
I'm going to rate September as a bad month since I was sick for most of it. Hopefully October will be better. My goals remain the same for October and I hope I will be more motivated to stick with healthy habits and make better food and drink choices then I was in September.
My foot is so much better today. I signed up for a 1 mile walk that will raise money for my nephew who was in the hospital last May and June. They're also doing a 5k race but I hate running so I will walk instead.
As the post scroll like the sands in an hour glass, these are posts of the arena. Wow I feel old. That sentence is a variant of an old intro to a USA soap opera called days of our lives. Good luck with all. It sounds exciting
Ponyfan - hoping the soreness goes away soon!Only thing is, is even at my wedding weight, I still wanted to lose 10 pounds so now it's 18 lbs ☹️...
nessa16 - gaining 8lb since June - that's 2 lb per month - not too bad, I am sure it can quickly come off again - after my wedding I just ate, ate, ate and gained a whole lot more  then fell pregnant and got even heavier - a few months after giving birth I manged to shed the massive 50lb via Weight Watchers (but no exercise), getting down to my wedding weight again.
When my WW leader left and the local classes closed, I lost my mojo and some weight crept back on. I joined Slimming World (as it was the only local class) and had a little bit of success but plateaued very quickly so gave up. I was frustrated with the SW method as I was following it closely but not getting the results I had with WW.
I have to say I am a huge fan now of My Fitness Pal because it is free, it makes me log exactly what I have eaten (keeping scales in my kitchen to weigh things to check) and gives me a daily calorie budget to work to. I eat what I like, so long as I stay within my calories.
A revelation for me has been exercise and using weights - classic cardio (exercise that makes you raise your heartbeat and huff and puff e.g. running, burpees, jumping jacks, skipping) is good for calorie loss but weights have another role - toning you up and shrinking your body shape down!
With only 8lb to lose, I am sure that you can nip this in the bud and get a great result by say, Christmas!
Only thing is, is even at my wedding weight, I still wanted to lose 10 pounds so now it's 18 lbs ☹️...
Reminder their is a challenge going on. All you have to do is evaluate how you felt your September has went:) no bonus or subtraction on how you did. Just reflect and tell us:) those who participate go in a drawing for a prize from me:)
Guys, I've been super bad at posting, I need my backside kicked! I had a good week considering I felt really crap, but I'm not scoring, because I don't want to bring myself down - I did virtually nothing but keep a positive mindset!
But this week.... OMG GUYS, I GOT THE JOB!!! :frolic: :accomplished:

YAY!!! Congrats!!
Yay for new job! That's always a good feeling.
I survived my day at work. There were a lot of people at the library that I used to work with (even some who remembered me but I didn't really remember them), but my old manager was taking the day off for Columbus Day, so I didn't even have to see her. :) I did still have to interact with my old director and assistant director, but they were pleasant and I didn't have any issues with them. Overall it was a good day and to reward myself for being good and actually going today (because I had the option to use vacation time and not go), I went to Toys R Us and bought the Mare-y Go Round set with Rarity and Pinkie Pie. I already had their other "Toys R Us Exclusives" and they didn't have Soarin' like I really wanted.
I only walked 2 miles today and my cravings for junk food have skyrocketed. I just ate pizza snacks and chips and I want more. This is very unusual for me.
Congrats Pokeyonekenobie on completing the walk/run. I'm also struggling with healthy eating right now.Well done on the fund-raiser that is a fantastic result! :woot:
Crowing Glory, I know you can earn enough points for your Big Mac. :) I'm still stuck on a reward for myself but since I haven't really been good about healthy habits lately I guess I shouldn't reward myself for a while.
Congrats on completing the elephant blanket plush Kikwifluff. :)

I can only drool at these posts right now.

So piano/voice 1 point. Played and sang about 10min. Got my songs set up for my recital...still need a date for it. I did a 10min work out..it was slow due to my knee. It says only 33 calories burned, so 1 point. Looking at knitting tonight as well..so far no extras.
2/100points so far today. I still have a lot of day left.
Don’t give up Artemesia Floc.
I feel like I am still in my slump. I’m having respitory issues again and I’ve lost my motivation to eat healthy foods instead of overeating junk.
On the positive side, I am still walking. My pedometer says I walked over 10,000 steps and 5 miles today.

Oooh! And there was me thinking it was only useful for bringing on birth/labour faster!
Must check this out... thanks for the tip!
That and raspberry tea actually...I am an OBGYN phone nurse. I believe that there is one other food/drink that does but I can't remember it at the moment. It's actually supposed to be the core of the pineapple that works the best for bringing on labor the best.To everyone with a cold:

Does it really? I had no idea.
To defeat the scale of doom, add layers. Sweaters shoes purse, anything you can...get on scale. Strip down and see that you lost way more than you think:)
I bought some sheets of expanded polystyrene and have placed them loosely against the window-wall. It is a cheap experiment just to see if it will have any effect in stopping the "sweaty" wall. So far so good, but it is early days!
I enjoy the support here too and don’t want to see it end at the end of healthy pony.
I will keep this forum going until Jan if you want:) i get verry little time to post but i will:) anyone else can stay on until i start the Jan healthy pony:)
Congrats guys on a really great round. Although we've all had some setbacks, I think it is really important to look at your health at this time of year! Hopefully we've all picked up some good habits, and worked on some bad ones, and we're all better people for it. That was my goal anyway, and I think I've definitely achieved something. I don't weight much less, but I'm a lot fitter and healthier, and I'm back at work, which I never thought I'd get back to this year.
2017 has been the worst year of my life, and you guys have been an amazing source of support. I loved coming back to this thread whenever I needed reassurance that I'm okay, that I can move forward with my life, that I'm worth something, and I am strong. I'm proud for all of us, thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart.
It’s finally done!!!!!!!!! I have finished my husbands hat....now to bust out some Santa coats and finish my holiday wings....whew.
