Hi friends!
I've been working on some ponies I've acquired and idk how exactly I thought of this, but I thought Sand Digger would be pretty representative of Australia.
So I'm wondering, out of all gens, which one would represent your country?
-
Munchy im from america
-
Gusty, for Canada of course!
-
I suppose a lot of people will say Crumpet for the UK, lol.
Personally I'd like Kingsley the lion to represent us ;) Lions are cool.

Why do we need to pick *one* pony? Quarterback is a fitting pick for America as well... ;)
-
Definitely Argentina Ribbon for The Netherlands. Couldn't be more fitting. :P

Oh, and G1 Minty for Ireland! :D

I’d see baby licorice for the Netherlands and pinwheel as a representatieve for the electric windmills (no, people don’t live in them XD)
-
Maybe Sunspot would be good pony for Australia

What about Wind Drifter? She's got a wind mill on her.

or Thundercloud for the weather ;)
and my Dasher cheers on Wales in the Six Nations Rugby tournament.

Haha, you didn't go there xD
Kingsley would be good considering the "lions" motif, except she wasn't sold here, which is the ultimate irony ;) Though that's more English than British.
If we're breaking it down into countries - England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland - then I guess going by colour scheme is one possibility. Though clearly Ribbs for Wales makes sense too :D
Thistle Whistle might do for Scotland, and England might have Rosedust, given the rose motif (or Posey Rose, or Roseluck, or...you get the picture). Daffodil would also do well for Wales. Then there's a bunch of Clover related ponies which may do for Northern Ireland as well as for Eire (can we distinguish a shamrock from a clover on a pony's behind?)
I personally think one of the Mountain Boys for Britain as a whole though, as we're all obsessed with the weather. Probably Lightning or Thundercloud ;) Or Baby Wellyboot!
@freezestime, you didn't want to be super stereotypical and choose Hoppy??
-
Well, obviously Tex for Texas. ( what? You say that’s not a country? Well, there was that one ten year period.....)

Twist and Gingerbread as Team Germany. Why? Because Germany is bread country and these baked goods are typically German.
Rapunzel is our chancellor. As Rapunzel from the fairy tale is German.
In G4 it's Pretzel repping us. Obviously!
I have no clue for G2 and G3. I'd even say Pinkie Pie for G3 because she is bossy, condescending with a nasal voice. Gotta throw in some good old German selfhate here

Wasn't Snow White originally from Germany? Idk if she has a pony equivalent

Purely based on colours, G3 Meadowbrook would make a good representative for Sweden ^^ (and she has a meadow themed symbol, which is like idyllic Swedish midsummer... so :D )
-
I think maybe Blueberry Baskets for Finland. For pure nature and everyman's rights.
-
New Zealand - KiWi Tart, but not the tart part, just the Kiwi part :snicker:

Hehe I still remember when that pony came out and the amusement it generated because she was found in NZ first xD. Well done Hasbro. Well done :P

Oh, and G1 Minty for Ireland! :D
That is actually very fitting :o
I always had Wind Drifter or Posey in mind. Well... Posey applies to the Holland provinces more perhaps.
G3 Breezie too. It's always windy here :)

I thought of her as well! And Ice Crystal  For some reason I've always associated Majesty with Finland, she has the same colours as the Finnish flag :)
-
Finland, hmmm.... Blueberry Basket?

LOL i didn't know that  someone there is having fun with their job. it's like something i would do :devious:

ooh! i'd like to nominate g2 muse for Ireland, because she's got a harp cutie mark, which is a symbol of ireland...

and g1 minty for the obvious reasons... her cutie mark could be shamrocks in a pinch :)
-
I suggest Brilliant Blossoms and Lemony Gem for Sweden! 🇸🇪🇸🇪

I find Rosette and her gymkhana accessories very English, somehow!
She reminds me of old-school pony jumps, bunting, tea and cakes, the gentle ripple of polite applause, a thoroughly marvellous English fete! :tort:
-
I second Gusty for Canada, she's the obvious choice. I've thought of her as a Canadian pony since I was a kid. I also think Oakly the Moose would be fitting.
-
As said before Gusty for Canada but her colours are also perfect for the Welsh flag.
-
Im going with Oakley for Canada shes perfect though shes not as common as Gusty. I still like her and her cute leaf pattern.
-
I'd have thought G1 Twist or G4 Pretzel for Germany.
Maybe Mimic for Brazil.
Ace could represent many countries who have a love of soccer.
-
Don't really know why as Gypsies are not exclusive to the UK, but have always associated Gypsy with the UK (and of course, she's a UK exclusive!) :lovey: :lovey: :lovey:
-
Oooh, this is difficult.... The first that came to mind was Ice Crystal because of the pure, wintery ice cold weather here during the cold months. Snowflake (G3) is also a candidate, for the same reason.
Or Glory for the colors remind me of the beautiful sky in the middle of winter up in the mountains. I don’t know... of course, Norway is a lot more than winter so maybe there are others that represent better ;) I am obviously stuck on the winter theme
-
Certainly G3 Daisy Paisley for Iran!

And G3 Cherry Blossom (or Cheerilee) for Japan, of course! :satisfied:

I wouldn't know for my country; mmm ... I'm from Italy. Perhaps G3 Tira-Mi-Su could be fine because she is called like the italian dessert! :P But, in that case, her symbol should be intended as a cup of italian coffee, not tea (also because Tiramisu dessert is made with coffee!)
