Hi there!
I have been wondering this for a while. I only know about pony collectors, but are there places like the arena/trading post for other fandoms? Mostly things like LPS, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears...
I was thinking that since every pony collection I have ever seen also includes some of these guys, it would be fun to invite them to the Minnesota meets, but I don't know how to find them!
Any information would be awesome!

I know Care Bears has one but I'm not sure about the rest?

If i google it, they should come up?

Well, I can maybe help re SSC.
There USED to be two huge forums for Strawberry Shortcake (and a bunch of smaller ones), but they are ALL ghost towns these days I'm sorry to say...
this one was the most active the longest:
http://www.strawberrysforeveryone.com/forum/
The other one is Strawberry Shortcake Town Square- but I forgot the web url. It has been rather abandoned for a long time though it used to be the biggest and most active by far.
I've noticed a lot of the old people are on facebook groups like this one:

That's funny, because what really got me thinking was the facebook girls buy sell vintage page. There was someone in a town close to me, and the thoughts evolved from there. I don't even know how gung ho I am ready to get, i can just see lots of benefits to a big gathering!

YEah, we used to even have a Strawberry SHortcake convention every year! And local get togethers, just like the pony meets :D
But I think the forum format is going by the wayside as people move to social media outlets like instagram and such...
Honestly I have no idea how the MLP Arena has lasted so long, but I am grateful that it has (because I prefer the discussion format over a LIKE DISLIKE type format...

I really like it here, too! I joined one of the ssc forums, and it is really dead there! I couldnt see how sad it was until i joined...
I think what I want to do, bring together all these collectors, is probably more suited for facebook, anyway.

I was under the impression that the Care Bear community, such as it was, had basically disappeared into dust.
I don't know but I presume the Jemcon board still exists for Jem related stuff. I kind of dropped out of the Jem community when the TOJ! list disappeared.

I was once a LPS forum member but the forum was awful and I never went back. I can't even remember what the site was and no one really talked a whole lot.

So, without tooting our own horns, why is this one so active? It seems strange that the others would die while this one rocks on...

amazing members, current and non current creator content, non-exclusive topics are allowed -meaning can't talk about anything other than mlp we have spots for the other topics- amazing mods who nip drama in the bud.

Yes I agree with this. When a forum limits you on what you can talk about to the extent some of them have-and takes the real life out of collecting, it really ruins people's ability to socialize.

I think there are a lot of factors
* dedicated mods
* very very large collector community
* infusions of new collectors thanks to G2, G3, G4...
* a larger number of collectors who keep things active
