Title: G1 Price Check - Mail Order Birthday Ponies
Post by: LauraMLP83 on January 03, 2018, 06:58:53 PM
Hi all!  I have Baby Sugarcake and Baby Gametime with all of their accessories in excellent condition and factory curls.  I also have a copy of the pamphlet that advertises them.  Does anyone have an idea what their value is?  Thank you!

There was a lot on ebay with the pink one that sold for over $200 very recently, and the pink twin was in it, very badly photographed.

Really, they are a lot of trouble. Best to just give them to me!  Hahahaha!  (I'm kidding, of course!)

These girls are really hard to find, I think an estimate of $200 each isn't insane.

In mint condition with all accessories and pamphlet... both ponies... :faint: no data available!! I honestly think it would be best to auction them! These are quite rare and very desirable. A single loose twin goes for up to $200 easily, as Aurora said. I would suggest listing them separately too, some people are only looking for one or the other to complete their own set.

Here's a thread from 2006 that prices them in the hundreds: http://www.mlptp.net/index.php?threads/baby-sugar-cake-and-baby-gametime-price-check.13244/ They're one set that will likely never lose value :)

I still need sugarcake, so it pains me to say this, but I have seen them sell for $300-500 (especially her) on and off over the last few years. The accessories would add to the price as well. This is the main reason I still don't have her. The prices seem a bit unstable, but I haven't seen sugarcake come down under $300 for a while.

Baby Sugarcake (I think that's the one --- the yellow one) was one of the last mail orders I had to purchase because she is pretty darn hard to find.  Whenever I've seen her on eBay, she usually goes for over $300... But I've seen her go for higher (and lower -- but that's been some time).

I think Gametime is a little easier to find (or, at least, I used to see her more), so her price might be slightly lower - but not much.

Note that the above doesn't take into account accessories (that's not a specialization of mine, but I'm sure they would increase the value by a decent amount)!

Out of all of the mail orders to have, these two are definitely some of the most rare :)  Awesome!!!

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what these two would go for MIB?

Probably, your soul.  Or first born son.  Or a dragon.
Actually, probably all of the above.

Price probably includes free shipping though.

They aren't in the bag anymore, so i guess the dragon will have to wait...

I've been trying to post pictures on here, but I can't figure it out.  Do I need to use a laptop vs. tablet for that?  Thanks!

For pictures, they need to be hosted somewhere else, like Flickr.  :)  (Not Photobucket though, unfortunately Photobucket doesn't allow 'linking' to images anymore.)

If only it were possible to abduct a pony from out of a photograph. They look adorable. Especially Sugarcake, that elusive little brat ;)

I hope if you sell them you manage to find them loving new homes.

These guys are all over the place.  Sugarcake, I have seen sold anywhere from $500 in a crazy bidding war, down to $180-$200.  Gametime (pink pony) $180-$200. With their accessories, Sugarcake' seemed to fetch more.  Of course, you do have the blindfold for Gametime's.  I know someone recently got lucky on a purchase and bought both with their accessories for under $90 each. Just a tad jealous here   Best bet, auction with a reserve price of $275
