I was just thinking about this t-shirt so I thought I'd share it. I bought it during G2 (probably 1998) at . . . I believe Hot Topic. It's supposedly size large. (Smallest "large" I've ever seen, lol. More like a small.)
I love the art, and that they included the Rainbow of Light.

I wish we had more custom art for merch. It's all the same stuff nowadays.
I think HT should start releasing shirts for G1 ponies again. They've picked up some retro pony things, it's not too unlikely that they would start putting the license to good use.

Adorable! I remember when Hot Topic first started getting G1 items... those TINY t-shirts that I can fit like one boob into, LOL

I love retro shirts and wish I would have gotten some of the neat Hot Topic ones like this and the G1 sea pony shirt I remember seeing retro shirt with Cotton Candy at Kohl's years ago but my aunt said I couldn't buy it since I couldn't fit in it.
I also like that they included the Rainbow of Light. :)

This pink one is my favorite, and has never actually fit me, though i tried!
There is another one with Cherries Jubilee and it has scratchnsniff cherries on the arm. Where did i put that?

These are all back from the late 1990's or early 2000's, and all from Hot Topic. Back when the phrase disposable income wasn't just a hilarious thought!

I have the Glory, Bubbles, and Twilight tshirts. Hot Topic didn't just use that drawing of a group of collector's ponies for shirts. I got a pink purse with that on it, and my husband bought me some underpants with that picture on them as well:/ Both items are *somewhere* in the house, but I couldn't tell you where for the life of me. For a while, Hot Topic was the only place to find MLP stuff.
Right before the G3s came out there was an explosion of G1 merchandise from Hot Topic and a few other places. I remember bobble heads of Sundance and the original Applejack. The backcard artwork from the Sundae Best Ponies and the second set of TAF Ponies was used for things like coasters and notepads. Hot Topic also sold some sour candies in tins with original G1 ponies, but I can't remember which ones. I think Seashell might've been one. I'm sure I have at least one tin somewhere around here.

I love the shirts. :lovey: :lovey: :lovey: Now I really wish I'd looked in Hot Topic when they had this kind of MLP merch. I did get a Sundance bobble head and the address book with the Sumer Wing ponies on it when the Hastings Music and Videos stores were going out of business.

WOW, I love those shirts! I had no idea they existed! I have one more shirt but I still need to take pictures of it.
Yes, I remember those sour candies! One of them had Bow-Tie on them, but she was in the sitting pose. I think another of them had a flutter pony on them, maybe Morning Glory? I'll have to see if I still have pictures of them anywhere.
Edit: Just remembered there was a third candy tin with Cupcake on it.

Oh my gosh, I didn't even know these existed! I'd seen some of the graphics before, but I had no idea they were from clothing!
I especially love the hoodie you posted Aurora, it's just adorable with the lil' ears, ah! :lol:
I'm tempted to seek some of these out for my growing human ponywear collection (I'm lucky that I fit into child-size clothing), but considering I've never seen them for sale before... :P

Yeah, you would need to child-sized. I am not child-sized! Haha! Hot topics sizing is silly, especially when you look at the people shopping there, like me. Chubby people are quirky, too!

Oh wow, these are all great! I'd love more official G1 artwork clothing, it's my favorite generation style. Need to thrift more I guess.

omg I LOVE this one!!! I love all of them but this is my favourite, I've never seen any of these apart from the one LadyM posted (which is also lovely - I love how they included the Rainbow of Light!!) :heart: :heart: I love this style of art! And they included Catnip, awww ^^

Love the shirts! I used to have a pink halter top with Blossom on it, but I sold it recently. I also had the scratch n sniff CJ shirt, but I have no idea where it went!

I have the first one LM posted, no idea where it is though now. I also have a black top with Firefly on it and a lightning bolt, can't remember whether that was HT or something else. And I feel like there's another one but I can't remember. I bought them years back when I was still a teenager.
Primark are doing a lot of g1 merchandising clothing at the moment, which is great...it's nice to get pony socks for christmas ;) but some more variety on ponies would be lovely too.
Also, if someone is feeling brave, I recommend going and checking out Selfridges' online store for pony stuff. I say brave because of how terrifying the prices are. But I am pretty sure a lot of it comes from US backcard art and some of the stuff is beautiful.

The only one I have that you guys shared is the pink sweatshirt with the original 6. I have a cotton candy one, firefly, scratch and sniff apple jack, scratch and sniff cherries jubilees (why was that a good idea lol)

Oh, these are adorable! I love the one with the parlour (the G2-style head works surprisingly well with the chubby G1 body, it looks very sweet!), and the pink sweater. :D

Awww I remember seeing shirts like that at Hot Topic, it was so exciting! It was the first retro MLP merch I had ever seen. I have that pink hoodie with the ears!! :frolic: I loved wearing it so much, even though it was a bit tight on me even back then. I wish it would still fit me although that's never going to happen. XD I would have gotten more MLP shirts but fitting into Hot Topic clothes was never something I could do well, even at my thinnest. :P
I wish I would have seen those tins! I would have snapped those up. I collect tins, and MLP tins especially of course. I love the little ones that candy or mints are sold in.
