They look amazing!!! What grabbed me was their pastel pink streaks. They fade so often in the older ones I see a whole bunch with white where it should be pink, but wow these look stunning & you can see why the colour was chosen.

That may be a typo on their part (probably a copy/paste description section from one of the other sets)
I want Fizzy, however, I'm not a fan of the idea that they used CM terminology for G1 ponies :huh:

They look so beautiful! I can't wait to get them all. I never heard of this Blain place, but Cracker Barrel (who does ship) is supposed to get them too. Now that the pictures are out they must be getting close to the release time.

If these do well enough, they'll want to make more ponies/more TEs. So tell everyone to buy these guys as much as possible/advertise it on FB or something so they do well and they keep making another set of TEs. Clearly...Masquerade is needed too...
Each set that BF makes relies on the set before it doing well enough to justify them making more ponies. Let 'em know you're going to buy

Ohh, I'm excited to see these in stores! I always thought TEs looked slightly demonic in photos (don't hate me), so I'm curious to see how I'll feel once I see them in person. :P

REALLY hope there will be an online place to get them individually without paying scalper prices! I wonder if buying 4 from Blain will guarantee a full set or if they'll send duplicates.

I would hazard that if we get 2 more, Speedy and Galaxy are the more likely ones to get. I would LOVE Masquerade, as she was my childhood TE, and sister wants her for the same reason, but unless they make a full set of four and add Sweet Pop, I can't see it right now. I think Whizzer and any of the y5 set are probably off the scale (and honestly, I'm over people talking about wanting Mimic.)
I am so happy these have actual twinkle eyes though. Sister was cool with them changing it up and having a regular eye version for variety, but TE has always been a favourite set of mine.
I will be after all of them, probably...although my hesitation is Sweetie because that name is not happening in this house. It may be the one box I destroy, if I get her. I usually keep them, but sorry, nope. It's one of the few US names I've known and loathed since I was a kid. Sweetie is so much cuter.

I hope I can get Gingerbread. Will this site let you choose the pony you want or would they ship a random one out? I can't get one in person as none of the stores that carry the Basic Fun Retro ponies at this point are present here in Washington since Target stopped carrying them.

I'm in agreement about the name, but for a different reason: a Peekaboo baby girl of the name Sweet Stuff.
If Whizzer is a hard one to do, then I can still hold out for Galaxy. Galaxy, Speedy, Masquerade & Sweet Pop would be a great second set of these

Those four look absolutely stunning!! :iconclap: The faithful accuracy of these toys never disappoints. I'm definitely going for Sweet Stuff and Gingerbread, because I don't have their original counterparts yet.
Although, I'm still disappointed I never found the second earth pony set upon release. I don't even believe Target will be carrying MLP reproductions anymore... I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for alterative stores or online websites, perhaps including the one linked here? I certainly hope prices won't be too outrageous in comparison to the past, but we'll see. Regardless, what a truly awesome set of TE ponies!

They would look good together, but my Galaxy and Sweet Pop are both in pretty ok condition so I'd probably just go for Speedy and Masquerade.

I "love" the same poses we get for three of them! It's just my favorite pose! So blocky, and chunky ... and square... and static... :lmao: But thank goodness we got Fizzy in there!
I'll give them this, they are saving me a lot of money by trying to find a perfect Sweet Stuff and Gingerbread!!

So...a bit frustrating for those of us not in driving distance of a Blain's location, but--according to the customer service rep I chatted with--the TE's will only be sold in physical stores. No online ordering :(
They will be available in-store only from Oct 1 2021 - Feb 15 2022 as seasonal items in Blain's Holiday Toyland.
I did ask why the TE's are listed on Blain's website if they can't be ordered online. The response was "That is a very good question, the item is shown online for customers to see what we have available in our Toyland."
Anyway, I feel so badly for getting everyone's hopes up on online ordering for the TE's from Blain. I was so excited when I stumbled upon the listing, and never imagined they would be posted online, but not be available for online ordering.
Personally, I'm holding out hope for finding the TE's in Cracker Barrel. I'm just a bit disheartened that, at least so far, there is no direct ordering from retailers for this set. I'm sure they'll hit Amazon around Nov with a big mark up initially, and then settle after a few months. That seems to be what's happened with the Sparkler and Tootsie sets...

I'm just a little confused because some of the reproductions, such as Gusty and Posey, are still available on (European) Amazon, while others I don't know if they were ever sold there or ever will.
Being based in Europe, Amazon is simply my best bet for any MLP repros -_-

I think it's because, at least in the US, the last few weren't sold by Amazon either. They were on Amazon but it was all 3rd party sellers (who at least have to charge more than retail to cover Amazon fees not counting any kind of profit) from what I've read. And Amazon being so big, if they were going to have them Basic Fun would have mentioned it.

UK Amazon has had all of them with fairly good availability at one point or another, even if not right at the point some of the private online stores have had them. US Amazon may have been different though. But every single BF pony bar the SDCC release Majesty has been available on Amazon UK at one point or another since the first release, including ST Applejack who is still in stock as I write this.
That said I don't know whether they were third party sellers using Amazon as a platform; they were included in Prime so the products were in Amazon's custody...I do know there was a French seller who had stock in the early days.
Ok, I went and checked, and Gusty etc are listed as for sale by Amazon directly, as well as having listings from other third party sellers. Of course the UK is no longer the same as Europe in terms of trade so I don't know what that means in other places, but here at least Amazon are up to date with stocking the BF ponies.
No reason I don't think to assume they won't be available on Amazon in places where Cracker Barrel etc don't exist.
No idea whether the US distribution stuff is limited by exclusivity deals and that's why Amazon doesn't have them, but we don't seem to have that over here so...
Another thing to remember is that the notice originally posted about a delay till Spring was from a private toy seller who almost certainly sells online. There are a bunch of those here in the UK and on the continent, and probably the ponies will be available via those given that notice was put out by one of them.
In short, we may have to wait a while longer but probably won't miss out.

That is also true. I think it's a little easier to be more on-edge these days with re-released content being of decent quality, but BF has been stellar thus far.

I actually prefer that faded to brownish color Gingerbread tends to get. She looks like a different pony in her original white color! I hope they make a Mimic, too.

As of August BF was in the process of shipping the TE set to Blain's, CB, Meijer, and TrU Canada. Blain's is slated to begin selling TEs in store Oct 1. I'm assuming the same will be true for the other three chains. I should probably pop by a CB this weekend just to see what's up and ask a bunch of annoying questions...

Strange there is no Masquerade, as her whole design was based on masquerade masks, she has the rarest human eye color (clear yellow or clear yellow-green), and she is the model for the movie star outfit with the gold glasses: the flagship TE. Anyway, they know this effort will be supported, with our ultimate goal being that the fourth TE unicorn, Mimic, is available to all, even as a BF. I might buy Majesty's shoes for her if she comes out...oh no, what if BF makes Mimic in limited quantity (that would be so evil).
For now I have to budget better, but I'm looking at Sweet Stuff, the only TE with true violet eyes! and I like that she is a desaturated light blue. I thought she would be a more brilliant periwinkle, but she could fit in with a display including Autumn Sky, Sparkler, Snuzzle, Velvet Bow, Pillow Talk, someone mentioned Ringlets....I'm in a "grey" phase.

Masquerade's absence is entirely due to pose maths, it seems. I think it's likely we might get Galaxy and Speedy later on to balance out Fizzy's production.
Masquerade was my childhood pony and I would love to see her. However I am not sure she's a flagship TE. I would think that would be Fizzy tbh. In the comics here Masquerade was probably more prominent than in the US release media, but it's the US market that matters as far as BF are concerned.
I think the subject of Mimic has been covered very thoroughly already.

I wonder if they will do Tic-tac-toe... It would be a new pose but it happens to be my favorite pose :) Maybe if they ever do TAF ponies that pose would be made, I think Sugarberry is one of the more...popular?...TAF ponies.

I agree Masquerade is a rather iconic TE! I would love to see a second wave with her, although I am more partial to the second wave of them it makes sense to fill out the first few a bit more. I'd be surprised if we didn't get a wave with Galaxy and Speedy; I'd be a little more wary on the latter if we didn't get Sky Rocket made.

So it's looking like October 16 for the TE's at Blain's. Hopefully around the same time for Cracker Barrel...

Back in August Blain's said TE's will be available when their holiday Toyland opens Oct 1, and would definitely not be available online.
Today they say
1) Toyland (https://www.farmandfleet.com/toyland/) opens Oct 16, and that as long as the vendor has delivered the item to us by the time Toyland opens then yes, it should be available on 10/16/2021. Basic Fun started shipping the TE's back in August so hopefully they've been delivered to Blain's by now.

2) TE's will be individually sold. If TE's are amongst the toys available online, they will be posted on 10/16/2021. The fact that Blain's couldn't confirm online availability is a bit of a bummer though, especially since they flat out denied it in August.

At any rate, I can't wait to see/hear what people discover about the TE's in Blain's and Cracker Barrel in a couple weeks!!!

love these re-do ponies in general :-) have to admit would have preferred they did the hair color for fizzy to be show accurate so green first, but that's me being nit-picky perhaps. And man, as for masquerade i would love for them to issue her in a whizzer pose if they do start a redo of some of the other poses

I'm in southern Wi, I called my local farm and fleet and they said they hadn't gotten the shipment yet but expected to sometime this month so I'm checking in next week to avoid opening day of toyland today. I'm glad I called rather than wasting my time as I'm only after the TEs :)

Oh no... I'm traveling about 2 hours to get to where I need to be hopefully they have some.. but the apple orchard is near it so it's not a wasted trip.. maybe I should call and see if they have them and if they do hold a few upfront... hmm

I went to Farm and Fleet right away this morning and the store never got the basic fun ponies in stock and would not be getting them. The website says they are only available in stores. My daughter and I were excited to get these ponies too, maybe they will show up online for a decent price. Hopefully other people will have luck finding them at their stores.

The store in baraboo Wisconsin said no store got them in yet.. they are waiting on shipments.... they are being sold at $9.99 per pony.
We did our Christmas shopping that is complete now and now at the apple orchard.

I don't have a Farm and Fleet near me either. I heard Cracker Barrel was also going to pick these up. The CB in my area struggled to sell the Gusty set and never got the Earth pony set with Cherries Jubilee

I didn't realise that was a problem over there as well. We have major issues in this regard thanks to a combination of Brexit, COVID and government being slow to deal with both of the above. It's a big mess so toy retailers here are already warning things may sell out and kids may not be able to get the toys they want for Christmas. A lot of stuff may not appear till the new year, so...I'm not holding out for any TEs in the Uk till then. Maybe they'll appear in time for my birthday.
The last set I saw in stores was probably the rainbows or Bubbles' set but that was some time ago thanks to a looong lockdown. They still had Medley and co the last time I was in town mind you. Amazon has had all the sets and the ST AJ release, so it's not been hard to get them, but the place to check over here would be the toy barnhaus in Sutton, as they were always first to get anything new when I lived down in the south.
Hope someone stateside has better luck :)

I also went to Farm & Fleet right after they opened and it was like Black Friday in there. I was unprepared for how busy and chaotic it would be. There wasn't much for Ponies except some cute fakies and fakie sets, plus a couple boxes of G5 items. After asking an associate I found out they're expecting six (!) to arrive sometime but aren't sure when, and they aren't able to hold toys. So people just have to call in.
I thought I'd try Meijer too and was shocked to find Lickety Split, Tootsie and Posey but no TEs. They had a lot of G4 and G5 toys too, including some kind of mixed package of mini brushable Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and maybe Twilight Sparkle with three main G5 characters. My friend tried another Farm & Fleet and got the same answer - expecting six, etc.

Hope they show up soon, since I live in Poland I have to send items to my boyfriend's house (he lives in USA) and I don't want to ask him to drive around to look for them (although if we lived together I would ask him to look for them with me ^^; ).

Yeah we're having a hard time just like other countries. I heard in one of the nearby USA ports there's over 80 ships full of shipping containers that are just sitting at the port, waiting, because there's not enough people working to unload them.
I heard on the news that BJ's Wholesalers (a large chain store that sells items in bulk) hired their own ship to go out to the stuck ships and unload their own shipping containers, just to get their product.
We DO have Cracker Barrel in one of the towns near me! I've only been there once, I vaguely remember they have like a gift shop area when you first walk in? Maybe I'll go see if I can find ponies!

The store in baraboo Wisconsin said no store got them in yet.. they are waiting on shipments.... they are being sold at $9.99 per pony.
We did our Christmas shopping that is complete now and now at the apple orchard.
I'm sorry you drove so far but I'm happy you had alternate plans. Apple orchards are fun :) Janesville is my home store and I do need cat litter soon so I will attempt to check in once a week probably on Tuesday afternoons with my schedule to avoid the weekends.

Yeah we're having a hard time just like other countries. I heard in one of the nearby USA ports there's over 80 ships full of shipping containers that are just sitting at the port, waiting, because there's not enough people working to unload them.
Exactly the same thing is happening here at Folkestone. :/ They actually sent them to Rotterdam to be loaded onto smaller boats...

You must not be too far from me, then. Janesville would have been my home store before we moved here, and now the Madison stores are slightly closer. I'll check the Verona store either tonight or Wednesday, since I have to drop my son off in that area.
ETA: I checked...no dice. I'll keep looking; I have at least a half-dozen Farm&Fleets within an hour radius that I can check, and I'll let you guys know if they pop up. The lady I talked to was funny...I showed her the picture on my phone from their website and she exclaimed, 'hey, I still have this one from when I was a kid!'

From the pictures on Farm and Fleet's website, they look really good! I don't know how they are structurally, but the shine on them looks pretty accurate from what I can tell. Here's a screenshot of Fizzy...I don't know if anyone's posted these photos yet; I haven't been online much lately, so sorry if it's a repeat.

ETA: ugh, that photo came out really small and looks fuzzy (at least on my phone)...sorry! But if you go to Farm and Fleet's website and type in 'My Little Pony retro' in the search bar they will pop up and you can see all 4 ponies.

Cracker Barrel had restocked their retro toys when I was there on Thursday but I didn't see any Basic Fun ponies They did have Strawberry Shortcake and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

Our Cracker Barrel (well, it's an hour away from me but it's the only one that I'm going to be likely to check due to others being out of my way even though they are closer) had restocked Basic Funs since I had last been there. They are still getting rainbow ponies in (2nd set). Unless they are pulling stock out from the back, because they never seem to have more than 4 ponies out at one time, but I can't imagine they have much room for extra inventory. They had 2 rainbows (different ones from 2 months ago), plus Sparkler and Heartthrob.
Went into Meijer while I was in town and they had Posey and Tootsie. First time I've seen any from that set in person. Wish I had had time to check the other Meijer in town, but I can only leave my kids with my parents so long before someone has a meltdown (usually one of the adults!)
I've checked 3 Farm and Fleets in the past week, and no one has any Twinkle Eyes. The consensus is that each store is 'supposed' to be getting 6, but they haven't shown up anywhere yet. A kind lady at the 3rd store was able to show me the online inventory for all stores within a several-hour radius of me, and they all said zero.

Sooo beautiful.
Someone on the Facebook group said this set had been delayed till spring, I have no idea if that's accurate. Also right now there's a huge shipping backup, both on the US's end and China's end. I read an article that said that things weren't expected to be back to normal on China's end until after the Lunar New Year (February.)

I suspect these are going to be much more delayed that we think. Reason being, is usually some of these would have sneaked onto eBay (magically!) and nothing has shown up as yet.

I mean the last scenario might actually make them more accessable since some discount chains are more national than F&F. (Of course the opposite is also true. I want a certain doll but the discount chain that has them doesn't exist near me and nobody is putting them on eBay except greedy scalpers).

I have several Meijer stores and a cracker barrel near me that I will be checking for this set. If anyone is concerned about not being able to find them I am happy to get whichever ones you are after for you if I ever do find them. Send me a pm anytime if you are interested. Only time will tell where they show up though, I guess!

I found 'em at Meijer this morning! I snagged 2 full sets (one for my son and one for the collection), and left a bunch behind. My guess is these will be showing up at all Meijer stores very soon if they haven't already. If anyone doesn't have a Meijer near them and needs help getting them, I don't mind trying to help if I can. It's not really on my beaten path, but I do have 2 Meijer stores less than an hour from me. It's really that crappy people are scalping them on Ebay.

I admit, a selfish part of me was hoping this wave would be pushed back until next spring when I'll be moving to a state that has a Cracker Barrel in it. But now it seems they're showing up and I'm completely out of luck :sad: A few months back someone kindly reached out to me to check Papersource as an online option, but they don't seem to be stocking any ponies. I feel bad asking someone to try to find them for me since I want the entire set, and I dread to see what they're going for on ebay. I've been SO hyped for this set, and it's really disappointing that Target decided not to carry them.

It used to be easy even if they didn't exist nearby. Put a thread in wanted and someone would be willing to get them for cost + ship. Now it seems everyone has moved to Facebook and if you don't really want to use it your only alternative is scalpers on eBay.

Don't give up if you don't have a Meijer. I just found the Twinkle Eye ponies at Cracker Barrel. I took pics but I was in a hurry and they turned out terrible. I saw Sky Rocket, Fizzy and one with purple hair that could have Sweet Stuff/Sweetie or Gingerbread.

I managed to get a set of them with the help of someone in the forum (thanks Sunpony!! <3<3) and they are excellent, gorgeously executed. My only qualm is that Fizzy's mane is rooted on the opposite site of the original, but that might be a good thing because OG Fizzy's mane is rooted to lay on her NDS and I've noticed that most collectors tend to switch it to the front anyway lol.
Gingerbread is gorgeous, crossing my fingers and hoping she won't yellow like BF Gusty- it would be comically horrendous for GB to yellow when the original is notorious for turning brown lol.
The eyes are so sparkly!

I posted this the other day over in the 35th Anniversary thread, so going to put it here too.
Apparently the online store The Toy Shoppe Northport had two of them in stock (Sweet Stuff & Skyrocket - or at least they did on Nov 23rd). I've never ordered from them, but the prices + shipping are probably going to be better options than Ebay for anyone who does not live near any Cracker Barrels or Meijers. I noticed they also have an email listing you can sign up for to be notified when they get them back in stock (I was looking at Gingerbread the other day - naturally was out of stock).

My Cracker Barrel still had them last night. I think they have 2 full sets. They also had Sky Rocket but I couldn't get a pic of her because she was behind Fizzy.

Oooh lucky duck, Ponyfan! I still haven't had any luck with my closest cracker barrels.
I have been so looking forward to all four TE's, but I dread it's just not in the cards for me. I sstill do really really really really want Fizzy though. If anyone is able to grab an extra Fizzy, would you be willing to direct message me to work out ship and payment details?
Otherwise I might have to start a support group thread for people who can't find the TE's anywhere! :lol:

I love how, in the original art, when they had two characters in the same mold they would draw them facing different directions so they still looked different. Like, on the original art, Sweetstuff and Gingerbread look different enough that you might not even realize they're the same mold, if you're just looking at the backcard. But on the BF backcard, they ran out of poses so two of them are obviously the same art haha.
Really hoping we get the rest of the TE's someday. They look so great!

I love the backcard art. :lovey: Sweet Pop and Party Time were the only TE ponies in my childhood herd so I don't think I've ever seen the backcard art before.
