Title: What are you playing?

Right now I'm playing NieR Automata. I've never played it before but I know all about it so there aren't any surprises. I'm having fun with it though!

You get to create a creature and run around collecting ingredients to craft clothing and furniture. You have your own little house to decorate. There are also hidden objects to find, quests to do and a daily activities. It's simple, colorful and fun!

I didn't know anything about rougelikes until I got Hades, turns out they're fun!

Post by: ridi on July 03, 2021, 06:11:48 AM: I've been playing Dragalia Lost for mobile for a couple of years now and I'm still pretty hooked! It's a really good action RPG with a huge cast of characters and lore that goes really deep which I think is super impressive for a mobile game. It does have the disadvantage of coming with the microtransactions we've grown to expect from mobile games, but the game is generous enough that you don't necessarily have to pay to advance.

I really like the creature designs as well. This is "Unicorn" :silly:

Oooh good times! I had this game on the Sega Megadrive as a kid and it was one of my favorites, and one of the few games I managed to clear all by myself, even if it was a bit of a struggle. Wild to think we didn't have save files back then :shocked:

I love Spore :happy: The beta is pretty fascinating. The aquatic stage looks as though it would’ve been really cool.

I played Lion King for over 3 hours once because I was trying to figure out how to enter the bottom part of Be Prepared and didn't want to start over at the beginning.

I just bought the DLC today. I was a big fan of HHD, so I've really been enjoying it so far! The new furniture is really cool as well.

And I have Pokemon Diamond on preorder and I know nostalgia alone could pull me into that. I have a few games I've never even played waiting on me as well as old faves like stardew, story of seasons, and Myst all on my switch, plus the free original and Super nes library that I have access to on it. Seems for the past few years I've not "finished" any game I've played and after my health went downhill I've barely played anything other than Pokemon Cafe. For a while there l did better with things like touch screens instead of controllers and now that I'm doing better I'm not sure how to get back into gaming but I think Pokemon and Crossing will maybe help some.
Been trying to decide if the higher bracket of Switch Online would be worth the cost to me because I hate paying for something and not making use of it.
What do you all think?

I'm so slow to start new games. I haven't played The Last of Us yet and they are coming out with a remaster already.

If any of you are playing, don't talk to the little girl with the Pelipper in the first "town", it will freeze your game. Good thing I'd saved but I saw online that other people hadn't saved (and had turned off autosave) so they had to start all over. I haven't played Scarlet yet, so I don't know if it's the same on that game or not.

The game does have a few performance issues (especially when the switch is docked in the tv) but so far we are having a lot of fun taking pics and adventuring together! I feel like it’s going to be a good game, if I could look past the frame rate and lag problems.

Basically the user-made mods have tripled the size of the entire game. Then there's all the "quality of life" mods that kinda should have been in the base game, like the ability to save anywhere instead of just in bed every night. Or buying a tractor...because, yanno, you have a farm...

I want all the trophies you can get in the offline game. There are some challenges I never finished all the times I've played. I really want to get the Break Every Horse challenge done.

Do you know how to defeat the water monster in the Switch version? I looked on Youtube and a video said "keep pushing down" I've tired that several times and still die.

Edit: I figured it out, but that was tricky.

I've played it before a year or so ago when it was everywhere. You just go around trying not to die or killing everyone, depending on if you are an imposter or not. It's more fun with friends so you can chat and laugh and manipulate each other on the votes. I like watching YouTubers play it, but I only ever had my fiance and sister to play it with and we got tired of it after a few times. There's a bit of strategy to it, I guess. The crew are supposed to do tasks but I feel like the focus is always on to kill or be killed.

I've been in a gaming mood lately. I'm mainly playing Settlement Survival which is a Banished clone but so much better and much more fleshed out.

I've also gotten back into The Sims 4, though I'm not that interested in the new expansion pack. They've released some game, stuff, and kit packs since the last time I played that I'd like.

I'm also thinking of starting up RDR2 again. I never finished my last playthrough and I still haven't gotten all the trophies.

Lastly, I finally hooked my Super Nintendo back up and played some games on it :D Super Buster Brothers, Demon's Crest and The Lion King so far.

Just recently re played the whole story mode of lego LOTR with my boyfriend. I've tried the star wars and harry potter ones as well but niether was as fun as lotr :biggrin:

eta: The controls are a little clunky. It wants you to use keyboard commands for everything but you can also use the mouse. It took me a while to get past the first real obstacle with the horse because I missed a pop-up during the tutorial. I had to go on the Steam forums for an answer. Turns out you have to hold shift to sprint, then jump.

Reading the forums, I guess there are a lot of bugs still in the game and the devs haven't updated since Dec last year. So far I haven't had any problems but I'm only like and hour in.

They're both annoying. I never have either. I've only beaten Aria of Sorrow,Simon's Quest, Dawn of Sorrow and Kid Dracula.

you can play them but it isn't 100% free. you have to buy a Nintendo Switch Online membership. it's a yearly fee and not super expensive i guess when compared to some streaming services. but i was still annoyed that it was listed as free on the games section of the website. then when i got my switch and went to download there were more fees. i already bought the switch. https://www.nintendo.com/switch/online/

i'm a little bored with Breath of the Wild so i've been playing some of the older games.

I also play that Sim City game of my tablet. i kind of hate it though because it's so different from the classic version. does anyone know if there is a version that's closer to the classic versions where you had to try to attract residents to your city?

I made my decision based on that, while I appreciate incredible graphics, they don't make or break a game for me. Some of my all time fav games had horrible graphics lol. That and that I'd like to get a Switch before a PS5. A nice bonus is that sometimes you can find the PS4 games on sale or in a bundle, or even free with tech purchases.

It's been a long time since I played a good survival horror game. I don't care for the Outlast series and other big ones are all multiplayer or co-op. I still have to play Resident Evil Village.

I think I'm also changing my mind about getting a Switch. Think I might want a PS5 instead. GTA6 looks incredible. I know it will be a long time before it's out. And Rockstar confirmed RDR3, but it will come after GTA6 and probably won't even be on the current gen.

I'm locked out of my Apple ID because I forgot my password and they need to "identify it's really me" and is going to take a couple days. Annoying! So, I will check this out once I can get back in.

It's just so nice to ride around in all the pretty scenery's, solving missions or participate in contests to level up horses. :gallop:
Most horses in game are very lovely too and I love to tack them and my character up.
It's my go to relax game :blush:

Lately I've been trying to play a bit of "Planet Zoo" too.
It's also a very nice game to play but I just can't get a hang of all the controls to build and decorate stuff!
I've seen people build the most amazing habitats and parks and I'm so inspired but every time I try I just find the controls to be so darn hard and the park becomes a mess! ^^; :blink:

I've gone back to my Lion King/Aladdin game on the Switch. I loved the SNES Lion King game even if I was stuck for literally years trying to figure out how to pass a level. Never played the Aladdin game growing up, but I started it the other day.

The Lion King was one of my favorites. I must've played it three or four times every day for a long while. People say it's hard, but I have muscle memory for it and can still breeze through it no problem.

I've used all three and I like HDMI converter the best, it's also the simplest. Just look for an SNES HDMI converter. I got mine from Amazon and paid about $30 for it. I also got an HDMI extension hub because both my PlayStations occupy both slots on my TV.

Try different games if you haven't already. Some might have dead batteries.

I know my SNES is very particular in how you put the carts in. You have to put the left side in before the right. So try different ways of inserting them.

I was afraid it wouldn't run well because my PC is getting old, but it plays on high graphics with 60FPS so it's fine. It's so detailed and beautiful... and complicated. I couldn't even figure out how to move the boat in the first quest, then I couldn't figure out how to pick up the fish. I didn't play for long because I didn't know it was going to so in depth and have this grand story with it. I need to have the right mindset to play again.

It's like any other city builder but there's some depth to the production chains. I really like it so far. About a month after I got my Switch I had to send it back to Nintendo because my left Joy Con wasn't working correctly. Nintendo sent me another Joy Con free because my Switch was under warranty. I'd had little problems with the replacement until yesterday. It kept disconnecting suddenly and at some point the Switch thought the L and R Joy Con were the same. It would light up the Right on the screen if I pressed the Left. Turning the Switch off and on would fix the problem for a few minutes, but as soon as I really got started on my game, it would happen again. Today, I the same thing happened so I decided to open my extra Joy Cons ( I bought an extra set so that if I ever had another Joy Con fail, I wouldn't have to send my Switch in.) After they charged the new Joy Cons worked perfectly.

I'm wondering if Nintendo will replace any Joy Con for free? I don't think the issue is Joycon Drift, since it seems to be a connecting issue.

Also, if Princess Peach Showtime is supposed to be so easy, why have I died a bunch of times?

Freddi fish seems to be findable and playable but the clufinders not so much! Thats what Ive been trying to play lately. I remember about 10 years ago I think I played "The Longest Journey" and I've been thinking of trying to play that one again as well!
