Title: ~Draw Together~ TE Sky Rocket, Lickety Split, and Rainbow Swirl! ~July 2018~
Post by: Safflower on July 01, 2018, 08:45:26 AM: Hi everyone, it's time for another draw together! For this month, there are two ice cream ponies to help you beat the heat, and one 4th of July pony, so bust out those art supplies! As always you can draw all, two, or just one of the ponies for this month with no pressure or deadlines :) Just post your art in this thread! Last month's thread can be found here (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,391808.0.html). Let's meet our lovely gals:

Sky Rocket, a Twinkle Eye pony! I'm sure she loves watching fireworks through her gemstone eyes.

Lickety Split, a year 3 earth pony! So much pink...

Rainbow Swirl, first released as a Sparkle Pony! Her backcard states she invented rainbow sherbet because she couldn't decide what flavor to order.

Who knows what these ponies could do this month? Will they watch some 4th of July fireworks or get some ice cream? It's up to you to decide when you draw them!

Post by: RoseNoire on July 06, 2018, 04:54:23 AM: Here's a bump with my newest drawing ! You made me want to draw RainbowSwirl so that's exactly what I did.
She is one of my childhood ponies so I used her as a model. The thing is, I tried to draw the toy itself rather than just the character, so I also took her head/body mismatch mine has into account. Maybe it wasn't a smart move since those are not aesthetically appealing but I gave it a try. It's not that noticeable in the final result so that's not too bad if it's ugly. :'D I hope you like it !

I think drawing ponies in your collection or ones from childhood with all their flaws is a great idea :heart: It adds a really personal touch, like that Rainbow Swirl is not any girl, she is yours :) The colors and shading are great too!

Post by: Minty_Magic on July 09, 2018, 04:43:50 AM: Yay I love doing these when I have the time! :P I think it's fun to see a mix of generations this time around, it's fun to have ponies interact that normally wouldn't! I tried to go for something with more action this time, I've been real bad about just doing comfortable posing lately so I tried to push myself a little more! I like the way the tales ponies could act and pose kind of human when needed so I was kind of inspired by how they were drawn!

Sky Rocket tried to make some festive summer sundaes for her ice cream loving friends, but she didn't take into account that not everyone likes pyrotechnics as much as she does, even if they're just little sparklers!

I love everyone's work so far!!
RoseNoire: I absolutley adore the way you drew the sparkles on Rainbow Swirl's face!! It's sweet you were inspired by the toy rather than the character and wanted to give her the same quirks as your personal Rainbow Swirl has!
tailrustedtealeaf: I love the kind of abstract look your picture has going for it! It has a lot of neat shapes and angles going on throughout, but it's still easy to tell what the subject is! The lighting also gives off such a strong early morning vibe I feel like I'm right there with Lickety Split!

I can't wait to see more art from everyone! :)

Pixil art should be done in a couple of days (vacation prevented me from drawing digitally, I started before the fourth!) I have some sketches I've finished though, I'll post those when I get home :)

Safflower: Both sketches are super cute, but I do love the composition of the second one, it really draws you in! It looks like Sky Rocket is really enjoying the fireworks
