Hey :)
Long time no post :P I've been busy lately but just wanted to share a pony I customized a couple of months back. This is Ruby Nebula.
I try to avoid customizing G1's but she was a very baity Galaxy who had a severely faded body and was missing all her hair except for the white streak in her mane (which was a bit odd!). I knew straight away I wanted her to be a nebula pony - so here she is :)
She is also for sale on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/My-Little-Pony-Custom-Ruby-Nebula-G1-Custom-OOAK-Vintage-Space-Stars-Galaxy-/202051181706?hash=item2f0b305c8a:g:B40AAOSw6nNZs1vi

OH MY GOODNESS! You did such an AMAZING job! She is absolutely GORGEOUS!

She's stunning! I love space themed ponies, but this really takes the cake!

I love space and nebula ponies, they're always so stunning and this girl does not disappoint - she's gorgeous! ^.^

The color combination and paintwork are lovely.

Ohh she's lovely! :o How did you get that to look so delicate and realistic?

Wow, she is absolutely stunning. The nebula looks so lovely and cloudy, and the stars are so delicate and amazing! Her hair is just so gorgeous too, and her name matches her perfectly.

Thank you all
I'm quite happy with how she came out in the end, considering about half way through I had a panic moment where I thought I'd done her all wrong :P

It's kind of hard to explain. I kind of paint it on and then immediately 'wipe' the line (gently!) with a finger - it pulls it out and gives it a whispy effect. Kinda hard to explain but it would make sense if you tried it lol. Takes a little practice but it's not too bad once you've got the hang, just as long as you're careful. I do it with different shades to give the different colours. That works for the base colours, then you paint the highlights and details over that.
The real hard bit is the stars - they take forever  you have to be very careful not to smear them as you go (which I always do somewhere and have to start again >_<)
But hey, I love space ponies and I enjoy doing them so it's worth sitting there for ages painting tiny white dots
Nowhere near as good as some of the nebula-themed ponies I've seen but I still enjoy making them.
I probably explained that badly but I'm tired so that's my excuse... :P
