Hey there! Whenever you're posting in the forums just click the little icon that looks like a photograph of the Mona Lisa. From there you just paste your image URL inbetween the code!

But first you need to save them to a site like Imgur and copy the pic Url

Don't forget to size the image by using img width=450 or something of that size. I think if you don't size it that the mods have to go in and add that coding in.

So which upload sites is everybody using these days?

Facebook is where I have everything. I had so much on PB...

I usually upload to DeviantART's Stash

I use Postimage (https://postimages.org/) if it's any help. :)
-
I use imgBB and copy the BB code link from there.

I do this too! Super convenient if you already have a dA account :)

Ah, I never thought of DA - and I'm also struggling with what to use ever since PhotoBucket did its thing :really: How does that work? I mean, will the pictures show up in your gallery like your art, or is there a way to distinguish? The pictures I'd need some storage site for are usually ones which I don't consider art at all (like... quick brag photos, or my avatar and signature pictures here. The latter is not even taken/made by me), I wouldn't want my DA account to show that as the art I created.

I mostly use Dropbox for stuff that isn't my own artwork. :)

Apologies, I'm resurrecting this topic, because I think this is an ongoing issue for many of us ever since Photobucket did their... thing -_- The recommendations in the topic may come handy also to others :)

How long have you been using this site? I've just checked their policy, and they don't seem to have anything about picture removal after a certain time, which sounds good, but probably too good?
I've just recently registered to Imgur, but I'm not sure about their current storage policy (it used to be 6 months in case of inactive images, which appears to have been removed in 2015 - but that was also 5 years ago now, and I simply can't seem to find their most recent policy.
So for me, Imgur is what I have recently started to use for photos that I consider less 'artsy' e.g. stuff for sale. For photos I take to be visually enjoyed, I have been using Flickr for a long time now, and for this purpose I'm happy with it - but the did introduce an 1000 free picture storage limit in the past 1-2 years.

I'm not sure actually! I started using it when TinyPic became a paid website, I think that was about two years ago? I do agree that it does seem too good to be true... But so far I haven't had any problems with it. :lookround:
It's such a hassle with image hosting now. I always used ImageShack, but suddenly you had to pay for it. Then I moved on to TinyPic; same story. Now it's PostImage, hopefully that'll stay the way it is!

Ahh this is a lifesaver! Thank you for sharing! I have been using Flickr for image hosting but it won’t give me the BB code link while I’m on my iPad, which is almost exclusively where I post from anymore. Now I can upload stuff more frequently since I don’t have to worry about getting to my actual desktop computer! I’m glad this thread is here for alternate hosting sites!
