I love that they reused that hat mold. I wish they would put out an accessory set with a bunch of hats and whatnot It's an adorable set, but I HAVE all those ponies :(

...this is the most random looking set. I couldn't help but burst out laughing when I saw it.. xD! I guess good for them for using the Celestia mold in another set... I guess... lol.
Dash in that hat though, pfffffft. So out of character, haha. (Yes, I am aware the toys/show have little to no communication other than "here's this character", lol)

second that - they should release just the acc. sets (like the G3 crystal bedroom & dining room) - and they should sell the ponies seperate (as they also already do)
Won't buy it - it's getting like the core 7 ponies. Always and always the same. Dunno if that's the best idea.

This set would have been better suited to Twilight and Rarity having tea with Celestia. Or maybe Fluttershy. But not Rainbow Dash. XD

I guess Celestia is an all inclusive kind of pony....just cause Pinkie will wreck the pretty table with enthusiasm and Dash will be huffy due to wearing a fancy hat, doesnt mean Celestia shouldnt invite them to her party [*random pony combination anyone?*]

I'm pretty sure the only way Dash would wear that hat is if Celestia permanently magic'd it to her head XD This would be the most awkward gathering ever. Although we have already established that Celestia is fond of tea.
Now if this set had Lunnnnaa in I'd reconsider.

I have 4 Twilights, 5 Pinkie Pies, 3 Rainbow Dashes, and 2 Applejacks. Who cares about doubles?

That is such a random set! Pinkie Pie (who will destroy your tea party) and Rainbow Dash (who wouldn't be caught dead at a fancy tea party) with Pinklestia? Oi! You guys are right! They should sell the accessories and the ponies separately. Of course they won't, because they don't make as much money that way…

I noticed that too. In the box she seems to only have pink/purple hair, but on the back panel it clearly shows her with a blue/teal streak in front. Maybe it's just pinned down on the other side?

The only thing I like about this set is the packaging. I really wish they'd use more characters. Like how about.... Luna's Midnight Tea Party? It would have Luna, and 2 night themed ponies, like owls, or stars, stuff like that. The accessories would be nocturnal animal friends, and the tea set of course.

It looks like celestia may have variant hair. Hopefully her head matches her body this release around.

Yeah, she's looking pretty pink. I wish they'd use this release for a corrected white version of her like with the big sized one. Maybe someday in the future...

I think Hasbro's just trying to hook new buyers in. Little kids that see a cute little tea set, Mommy/Daddy buys it for them and suddenly they need to buy four single packs. Kinda how I feel about playsets in general. That and well... I know as a kid I loved playsets, even if I had the toys already.

Yeah. I suppose since they have a Toys r us exclusive coming up that's aimed towards the older audience with DJ-pon3 and nightmare moon, while this is targeting their main younger audience. Not too expensive to make with repeats, while that new big TRU package will be more expensive to manufacture with all the new ponies. Makes sense in that regard.

I love Pinkie Pie & Rainbow Dash but not sure I'll get this as that trolley/cart kinda looks similar to the trolley/cart in the celebration at Canterlot playset! They do seem to repeat things quite a bit don't they? I agree it's a bit cheaper to do that though.

I'm so sad they repeat the same ponies over and over again :( Each main caracter from the series has at least 5 different versions! :| Instead they should come up with other caracters, even if they are not that visible in the show.
Because these repeating ponies are getting old... :/

If they gonna have Celestias toy pink, couldn't they at leats make her pink on the box art? That's not really nice to the little kids because they can see that the pony on the box isn't the same color as the one inside the box

Totally agree. There might be some kids that doesn't mind having 10 of each pony, but when I was a kid, I wanted different ponies to play with.

Seems like an odd combination of characters .. I don't have a Celestia yet but I'd pass on this set if it came here, I'm still hoping for the Celestia & Luna set to be released here. Also, does anyone know if Cadence and Celestia are the same size?

I don't mind the re-releases, but they should at least make some more variants like they did with core 7. Other than the two holiday ponies, they haven't made any other ponies with extra designs on their bodies. :P
Is it just me, or does Celestia's crown on the backcard look transparent? Or maybe its just a weird printing error.

Ah finally, a new ponyset after a long wait... though... I must say.... Rainbow Dash does not belong there. The others and maybe besides Applejack, sure. But Dash? Dash doesn't do that stuff. Also the fact that I hate seeing Pinkie and Dashie as best friends. I can see her being besties with Applejack, maybe Fluttershy, but definitely not Pinkie Pie. (Not going to count Griffin the Brush Off, that one was meh, but I liked her being friends with Gilda more than Pinkie.)
Also, is this Pony Friend Set a new TRU thing like Canterlot and the Wedding? Well I assume mane six will come in to play eventually, but I'd rather see a new line up of best friend ponies. I mean, I love having all my 500 of everyone but, new ponies please. I like that Luna teaset idea with the night themed teaset and ponies. That's what Hasbro should be doing.

Since it's a TRU Exclusive I guess it makes sense to have re-releases, but re-releases of the Main 6 are already happening on a regular basis. If the set was with Princess Celestia and two newly designed ponies (Blind Bag released Ponies are a great source of options *Hint hint Hasbro*) This would be a wonderful set and I'm sure that almost everyone would want to get their hands on this set. But since its a just rinse, repeat, add more accessories set. I might just pass, but not too sure, those accessories do look Cute, esp the hats. lol X3

The box is nice and i like the hats. Yes, even on Rainbow Dash. She looks adorable with it.
(If she can wear a gala dress, she can wear a hat.)
But yeah re-releases...nothing new. We will be seeing a lot of those.
G4 really is not THAT much better than the whole core 7 stuff.
The cartoon just makes it less noticable. XP

I'm amused by this set. Y'know, I *still* don't own Rainbow Dash or G4 Pinkie Pie - and I still don't want this set, either. They're two of the most random ponies for Celestia to invite for a tea party (Rarity makes so much more sense) and if I wait long enough, I bet I'll find the tea set at the thrift store, one way or another since they keep re-releasing it.
As for the hats - anyone else reminded of the Simpsons episode where Lisa invents a doll that's supposed to compete with the talking Malibu Stacey and it almost works - until they release a Mailbu Stacey with a new hat? And then all the little girls want Mailbu Stacey with her new hat? That's where my mind went. :P :)

The accessories are really cute, but I don't collect accessories since I don't have room for them. I think if Celestia has been white, maybe I would have bought the set, but I don't want a Pinklestia and I don't need another Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash. Has anyone else noticed how most of the G4 merchandise tends to have either Rainbow Dash, Celestia or Pinkie Pie or some combination of them? Even stuff like hair clips, which would make so much more sense to have Rarity on them, have Dash on them. This set would have made much more sense if it were Rarity and Twilight having tea with the princess.

I wasn't saying they truly, absolutely are, obviously they are just friends. I wasn't even arguing anything, I was just being silly. Ultimately I don't care for "shippings" or the fandom aspect much either. But people do pair ponies together sometimes in their herd, even in g1 for example with mimic and barnacle (nice timing! See above siggy!). It's not that strange. It's human to try to find and speculate those kinds of connections.
And honestly, there's not much else to this repeat set. What else is there to talk about? haha

I don't see any shipping here at all, really. Generally, you'll find users here tend to be older and more mature then other pony related websites. Well, as mature as one can be about pretty pink ponies that is!
The box seems so dark and enclosed. I liked being able to see the scenery cardboard I hope this doesn't become the new standard.

Tea Love with a tea set. That would have been awsome. You can still sort of do it, Hasbro. You can put Tea Love out as a single and include the tea pot and a teacup as her included knicknack. DO EET.

Believe me, the stuff fans come up with is better than most of Hasbro's "real" 80s ships.

The elf's big appeal, BTW, was that she could jump up and down a hundred times without stopping. Quarterback was VERY IMPRESSED by this feat.

I was thinking the same thing. They picked the wrong pony to be in this set. She looks cute and all but its way out of her character. Rarity or anyone else would have been better for it! Not that I want more repeats! It obviously would have been better with new brushables!
It is a cute set though. I love the hats too! I may end up getting if for my daughter.

You know, I thought this was why Core 7 failed. Because they kept re-re-re-releasing the same characters over and over. Why is Hasbro making the same mistake? That's why G1, G2, and G3 were immensly more popular than Core 7. There were hundreds of different ponies to choose from.

THIS!!!!!! C'mon Hasbro pull your fingers out. Yes we are all excited for the collectors set (Zecora etc) and the castle but I am having my doubts that either of those will appear in the UK :(
Give us more characters! Give us the mane 6 with a raised hoof here and there, tinsel and glittery symbols, 3D symbols even. But, hasbro, carry on re-releasing the same boring crap and you will kill FIM.

Hahaha random set is random. I am not in love with the idea of a scene from the show where PP and RD attend tea with Celestia. XD
Don't complain guys, they probably just have a lot of extras of these ponies and they're trying to throw together something to tide over the kids and collectors until the next new thing is ready to go. We will be seeing new stuff as well. ^.^

This set would have been a perfect opportunity to release a brushable version of Tealove. I think if they had done that, the set would sell so much better. Her colors are just gorgeous and I bet she'd make a really stunning brushable pony. Plus, we need more green ponies. I think if I were designing the set, I'd include a white Celestia (I hate how she's pink, but white on the box) Tealove and a regular pegasus version of Ploomette. I think that would be a good set.

I wonder if this is a ploy to unload the Pinklestias before the white one comes out? Or move a bunch of things that aren't selling? (Especially if there's G3 stuff mixed in.)
This seems like definite "little girl" marketing - "Look, the pink princess is having tea with the pink and blue ponies... with hats!"
Why do RD and Pinkie get all the love from the marketing guys? There are other, more interesting ponies out there! I would love more varied brushables... oh well, at least we have the fancy Toys R Us set coming in the fall! :)
