I mentioned I had found a G1 shirt at Target, and a couple got asking about it. I happened to be shopping with my brother and found this in the men's Tshirt section. I'm normally not a G1 gal, but this one appeals to me the more I see and wear it.
It has a classic look to it...I suppose with a steady hand you could color it? It's a grey. I really like this shirt a lot. :cool:
It was $10, but a pretty nice shirt.

Alright! I liked the Wal Mart shirt, but I like THIS one even more! A, because it's a men's shirt, and I fit better in a men's shirt. And B, because it says "ponies" and not "bronies"! WOO! Off to Target I go!

I don't mind that it's a men's shirt. Women's shirts with stuff like this on them tend to only come in small sizes, but with men's, I can usually find a size that fits me much easier. Plus, I like that men's t-shirts tend to be longer.

I find men's shirts to be more comfy than women's...women's tend to have like nothing worth calling sleeves. I like my sleeves. xD So this works for me!

I prefer mens shirts as well. Women's shirt are so uncomfortable on me, so I just don't buy them. I'm not even a larger person either.
I do wonder why they thought your average man would buy a my little pony shirt though, lol.

Same here, I really like it, totally my style. I laughed at it being in the men's section though, possibly a misplaced item? And ten bucks is a pretty fair price imo.

I want it to! and for any girls that worry about it fitting just get one that's a bit large- split it up the side seams and cut 1inch long horizontal strips- make sure to come in more at your waist if your bust is bigger. and tie or braid the side strips together :)

Tha'ts really cute. A bit blah color-wise, especially for $10, but still super-cute.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers "men's" T-shirts for fit. So many of the women's/junior's ones I have either slide off my shoulders or dig into my armpits. Yuck!

One, it's my favorite G1, Glory, and two, men's slim cut shirts are SUPER comfy!
I am of the large tata'd variety, and I'm a bit on the fluffy side, but men's slim cut shirts fit me perfectly. No stretching, they're LONG, and they accentuate my good curves nicely while helping to hide my upper belly.
So fellow fluffy and large tatat'd gals, fear not! Men's slim cut do work for us!

The only problem I have with men's shirts is the shoulders. The seams that should be at the shoulder end up being halfway down to my elbow which makes the sleeves look really long. That's the biggest problem with the 2010 MLP Fair t-shirt I have. I guess it's because I have to go to a size that would be too big if it weren't for my chest. On the other hand, though, I hate how women's shirts always have such short sleeves, so I guess I still like men's shirts better.

Welp, visited the Rockaway, NJ Target, and no luck with Glory.
I DID still manage to get my hands on the Ninja Turtle shirt I've been oogling on other turtle fans, though.
I asked one of the employees where the graphic tee's for women might be, thinking maybe they had placed it there instead. Non-existant. No graphic tee's for women at all, unless you count sleep shirts, or those shirts that read like, "rocker chick", "Tru Jersey Girl", or are covered with glitter and leopard spots.

Aw! Glory shirt! That's an awesome find, if a little odd being a G1 in the men's section. I'm kinda glad that it was in the men's section though...because that means more male collectors for the G1s, right? Maybe? :x

I just got back from Target and they didn't have the shirt. I did get my son a Beavis & Butthead shirt on clearance, though, so I didn't leave empty-handed.

I am a skinny gal, so I'll probably stitch up the seams a little bit and make it a ladies slim-fit tee. I'm also probably use my textile medium with my acrylic paints and color it in a bit.
Wait... If I'm going to go to all this work to make a pony shirt fit me, I should just buy a gray ladies shirt and paint the danged pony on it in the first place!

Small to 2x I believe.
In my target there is a long display in the middle of the men's section and a sign that says "Screen T's".
The shirt is in right on the top row left hand side.
If anyone has a real issue getting them I'd be happy to pick some up. :)

I was hoping they'd go to 3x because then it would be baggier, which is more comfortable to wear. Men's 2X tees fit, but they're a bit tight in the chest on me.

I got a small for myself (I'm fairly short and thin.) But I know they went up to 2x, if memory doesn't fail. No, they weren't hanging up, but were with the printed tees on some long shelves.
If anyone picks one up and colors it, would love to see it! The more I think about it, the more I am tempted to color mine. Or I'll go grab another. ^.^

Oh I know where I'm going this weekend! I've been loving the men's $10 t-shirt section at Target lately. I got a Ford Pinto (showin' my roots, that was my ride when I was still rollin' in a car seat!) and a Sublime shirt there over the summer.

Was able to get one at my Target last night! :biggrin: Mens' sizes S-XXL. I almost thought mine didn't have them. I looked at the main table of graphic tees, and came up empty. Then saw another table further in labeled as Movie/TV character graphic tees, and that's where the pony shirts were.

I so want to get this one! I was disappointed in the new Walmart one, as I love the graphic but don't like the brony connection (I don't want bronies giving me weird looks for having G1 ponies on a "brony" shirt) but this one is fantabulous!

It seems like a relatively recent thing that there were separate "women's fit" t-shirts anyway. When I was a teenager and I was into a lot of bands and stuff, if there was a band shirt it was just a basic t-shirt size S-XL, unisex. I still go with the "mens"/unisex a lot anyway because when you are busty but have small shoulders, the women's/juniors cut is either a size too big and baggy, or fitted but bunched up under your armpits.

I don't mind it being a men's shirt, it's just a little annoying that the prevailing demographic for MLP who have begged for merch for years is and still is female. /rant

Thats a good point :) Being a busty lady myself I agree that men's tees are generally more generous but I am a real girly girl unfortunately - I prefer feminine colours and styles & an actual fitted shape and I feel with shirts like this its missing a trick to make it grey, colourless and unfitting but that is completely a personal thing because for others I am sure it will work!

Found this shirt at a different Target :) Did you know the tag on the shelf says friendship Is Magic shirt? Definitely a G1 on that shirt lol. I also didn't notice the printing was in purple! Very girly lol

My Target set these on Tuesday afternoon, after I had left for the day. And for the first time, after years of training, I had 2 people come and find me to let me know they were on the floor! Yay, trained co-workers!
They're on a folded-t-shirt table with other 80's things- Sesame Street, MTV... ok, I can't think of more because all i cared about was the pony shirt. But if they aren't out yet, they should be soon. If my Target, quite possibly the smallest Target in MN, has it, then all the stores will get it.

The XL is about the right size for me- I wear an 18-20 on the top normally (which I only know because of a recent wedding!) with a C bust. Hopefully that will 1. creep out some of you that I'm sharing some odd information LOL! and 2. help others decide what size they might need to order. The shirt is not baggy, but is comfy and not form-fitting. No one will look at me in this shirt and think that I should have gotten a different size.
I'm uber-excited about this shirt! Glory is my all-time favorite pony, and it looks like a little fabric paint or marker should fill her colors in without making it seem too purple. Hooray, pony shirt!

They are "athletic fit" so not as wide as some mens shirts.
I just saw them at Target today but I didn't buy one. It is a really nice design though.

I found them today at my local Target! It's really soft material, and the fit is ok. I bought a Small and it is a little loose in the waist, but very cute:). I can try to pick up a few more, if anyone is interested! PM me with your size, and I'll do the best I can.

Aaaaa! Just picked up this shirt. I'm not even home yet and I already love this shirt. The small is a tiny bit big on my tummy area being a men's shirt and such but overall it's a comfortable fit and soft cotton. :) I'm soooo throwing it on after I shower. >w>
EDIT: Tried it on at home without it being over my other clothing and wow it's pretty big on me... ): Still awesome, though! Going to wear the heck out of it!!

Lol...I think retailers seem to be of the current belief that ponies have 2 target markets - little girls and adult men...FiM has made collecting ponies a whole different place in the last 2 years :P

So true. But to the companies who market their products to bronies, you'd think they'd do more research. Granted, several bronies collect other gens, but many do not and are annoyed when they see so-called brony merchandise with a G1 or G3 pony stamped on it. And yeah, the FiM craze that's sweeping the globe has all but obliterated MLP fans who aren't little girls or adult men. ^.^ I'm not bothered or anything, I just think it's interesting. It would be nice, though, if companies, newspapers, etc. would take the time to understand their vast fan base a bit better.

The Walmart one was a junior women's shirt as far as I know.
My Walmart has gotten rid of their junior shirt section, odd enough. :shocked: Not that I'd buy it anyways. xD

The problem could be as simple as licensing limitations. The fact that outside of welovefine we dont see FiM adult clothing could be an indication that WLF actually have exclusive agreement for adult clothing. Therefore in order to join in the MLP craze other manufacturers are limited to any other licensing they can buy from Hasbro which is probably access and rights to retro vectors.

The pic was from a cosplay photoshoot we did last weekend that happened to be the day after our 10th anniversary. :)
We just had a normal, boring, non-costume wedding when we got married (no money for anything cool).

Sorry to bump up a really old thread. I got this shirt yesterday. Well, my parent's bought it for me because I help out around the house while I'm not working and looking for a job. After a few times of trying on sizes, I got a men's xl. The Large was too small and the XXL was too big. It's so comfy and soft.
I told my Mom about it and showed it to her and later it turned into my Mom mentioning to my Dad I wanted the shirt. I said it was a MLP shirt for guys and when I showed it to my Dad he said "I thought you were joking". He had a look like I expected a mlp shirt for guys? :crazy: :wonder: :facepalm: Well it was a reaction of all those emoticons all at once. (lol)
