Hello everyone,
Everyone knows that certain pony that has been on your wishlist forever.
They are either rare, super expensive, hardly ever for sale or they just keep slipping through your fingers.
Then there are ponies with same conditions as above, but they got into your collection sooner then expected. It's a pony whk you got in your possesion you wanted without having to save up/actively planning on buying them.
For example: You are saving up for rapunzel, which takes long, but then one day you happen upon her in a thrift store. I hope my point is getting across :blush:
For me, it was nbbe baby ribbon, mountain boy sunburst and te quackers. I managed to snatched them up for a good deal without planning to buy them before hand.
So who did you managed to get? I would love to hear more from you :)

The latest Breezie. Breezies (G3) not sold in petal cars, except the standard three, are rare as hens' teeth, so finding Rose Garden from a seller I was buying a hat from, on the off chance she had something else available & a postage combo option, was unexpected in a good way. Obviously I bought her, & she's here with my other Breezies in their long train. I also got my postage discounted

I got back Dazzle Glow before the GnS ponies started fetching sky-high prices.
I was surprised to be able to snag MO Star Hopper when I did. She was a fixer-upper, but I didn't mind.
Found a tailless Seashell for a steal, my boyfriend bought her for me.
I never expected to be able to find Drummer or Racer for reasonable prices. My boyfriend surprised me with Drummer.
The one time I ever saw Port-a-bella was near Christmas. I was so bummed when her ebay listing vanished, and so thrilled when my boyfriend presented her to me as a gift.
Pearly Sapphire Joy-I had no hope of finding her. But apparently Rite Aid gets ponies every once in a blue moon.
I got Tropical Breeze and Wind Drifter fairly early when I started going after flutter ponies.

The ding danged Walmart exclusive Izzys. I looked across multiple cities/states before I got lucky enough that the website finally got them back in stock.

I guess for me it was all of my Argies. I never intended to get into Nirvanas but they kept coming up for sale (this is before prices got ridiculous). I got really great deals on all 7 that I have. I think I had the 7 only after 2 years of discovering Argies. Most were bought from Arena members too.
Now when I want to collect orange Argies, they are way out of my price range.

Mimic! I never thought I'd own her, but I got super lucky and won her in a raffle once. :)

Rapunzel. *lol* I didn't think she'd ever be in my budget. I won her in a raffle where I only bought one $5 ticket.

I found Starglow on ebay a few months ago. She was the only Glow & Show pony on my wishlist. One day I was scanning new listings and there she was, in good enough condition for me, and at a reasonable price. Couldn't believe it!

Munchy thought I'd never get her but she was for a bargain of $10 a few years ago.

I guess whatever I found at carboots or in early trades back in the 1990s, some of which I didn't even know who they were at the time. Probably I was surprised to find Night Glider and Sand Dollar from local UK sellers, and also german Skydancer who I didn't even know existed. Ditto baby Leaper.
But probably the ones that really stand out are Glory and Moondancer who I had about given up on actually existing. They had no tails and it's the only time I ever found them in the UK, but I didn't care about that. :)
@Ponybookworm, the breezie I have trouble getting hold of is Day Lilly. She doesn't seem to come up, ever. Have you ever come by her? I think I have all the others, thanks to some awesome trades on here, but I've never managed to track Day Lilly down...I think she had a very limited release.
Rose Garden is the one with precious gem, right? I don't think her name is on the packaging, but I think that's the one?

I've managed to acquire the Petal Car Breezies courtesy of here, the standard three (Tralala, Tuddlywink & the common Zipzee), Willow Wisp (also here), & Rose Garden. I'd love Lady Slipper, Snippety Snap & Day Lily myself (I think they're on my Want List). I'm also short one opaque petal car

I found punz in a box with some other G1s back in 2010 at comic con. The guy at the booth was all about the new line if I remember correctly and thought G1s were just for customs. Bout had a heart attack when I saw her.
