The G1 cases have inspired me to make similar cases for my ponies. Buying enough of the official ones to hold everyone I have and plan to get would be greedy, plus I want to make ones tailored to kinds the official cases aren't as well suited for (Flutter Ponies, for example) as well as specialty cases (such as a Megan and Sundance case).
What I want to know is, what material are they made of? Is it just laminated cardboard?
-
Pretty much. There are model horse stable tutorials that could teach you how to make em out of cardboard or wood.

Here's one that's outta this world!

They kind of remind me of the hard plastic packaging you get that you have to open with scissors, if you know what I mean. So it's melted together around the edges and gaps in the card.
-
Yeah, they're cardboard covered with like this stiff, shiny plastic. Kind of a flexible plastic, like vinyl. Making your own sounds awesome, I hope you post the results here!

Alright. I don't have anything to laminate with so I'll just gloss clear-coat the cardboard.
-
I worry about cardboard because most of it contains acids which will help start the breakdown of plastics even quicker. :(

Well, hopefully the clear-coat will help prevent that damage. As will the fact that I'll be doing what I can to create my own plastic inner trays.
Thank you Leave a Whisper for the link.
And thank you LadyMoondancer for the words of encouragement.

Your welcome and best of luck! Would love to see the results.
