Picked these two up at Target last Tuesday but have been dawdling on actually opening them up. Skydancer looks like she might be a darker yellow than her original release, but as I don't own the original I not sure.

Finally got around to unboxing and assembling the Pretty Parlor this morning. Here's a photo of it closed up. It's rather pretty indeed, although I plan to paint it to make it even prettier.

And here it is opened up for play and display. Peachy uses the later concave-hoof version of the Collector's Pose mold (which I hear is better at standing up, so it's good in my book), has an unglued/unfused neck (I don't know if this is standard for 35th Anniversary ponies, I have yet to actually unbox the others I have  ), and her tail ribbon is sewn on (which from what I've read is standard on these reissues). The reissue Parlor is a bit lacking compared to the original - it doesn't have the extra ribbons or the felt saddle blanket, it only has a nameboard for Peachy (the original had nameboards for all eight Collector Pose ponies), and while the box recaptures the style of the original boxes the same cannot be said for the instructions (which are a bit less detailed about use and accessoriesand use grayscale photos rather than blue lineart). The slip with Peachy's story that names Twinkles is also omitted (although Twinkles' name is at least mentioned in the contents list on the box). Still, if you don't have the original it's not a bad buy.

The play set looks so cute! I want to buy one now haha!

Congratulations on your new ponies! That playset is so cute! It makes me want to go to Target lol.

Thanks, all of you. Can anyone weigh in on Skydancer's color in comparison to the original?
EDIT: Here are the instructions:

They don't show how to use the accessories or where they stow in the parlor (although the box at least covers that part, and the use of the nametag), nor do they show how to braid a pony's tail :(.
Also, I made a couple small corrections to the info in the first post.

Long-overdue pics of Skydancer!

First, the in-box photo that I posted in the corral earlier.

Now a photo of the back of the box. The art is a match for the G1 package art style, but it appears to be newly done for the anniversary boxes. It's certainly different from the Year 2 Rainbow Ponies' original backcard art. (http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/File:SkydancerBackcard.jpg) The boxes for the reissue set are identical save for the name on the front, so sadly there is no short story about Skydancer like there is on the vintage card.
Aaaand DeviantArt decided to go into read-only mode while I was composing this, so the rest will just be links for now. I'll embed them when I can actually resize them.

Skydancer, out of the box! Looking very lovely indeed. But who's that in the background?

Why, it's Megan, riding astride Sundance and reaching to give Skydancer a friendly scratch behind the ears.

Megan riding Skydancer. At least, as best as is possible with the toys. The Firefly pose does not accommodate Megan's doll all that well.
And now for some shots of the art on the insert:

The stage right side, which shows Moonstone on a riverbank, Sealight in the river below her looking at something on the central section, Starshine sliding down a rainbow, and Brandy (the dog from the Show Stable) running in the distance.

The central section, which shows Windy hunkering down at the water's edge to chat with Wavedancer as well as who Sealight over on the right is looking at: Seawinkle, who is looking back at her.

And the stage left side, which shows Parasol prancing on the bank, and Sprinkles (in her prototype colors!) playing with a teeny raincloud while standing on a larger one.
Notably, all three Rainbow Ponies featured are in the exact same pose as the back-of-box art of them.
Now for a few questions. First, is this reproduced vintage artwork or an anniversary-original piece?
Second, do you think and/or hope the presence of Sprinkles, Brandy, and the Sea Ponies heralds reissues of the Waterfall, the Show Stable, and the Year 2 Sea Pony set?
Third, if the Waterfall is reissued, do you think Sprinkles will be in her prototype colors as pictured here? Or in pink like her production toy? Which would you prefer?

Congrats! The artwork is originally from the 80s. It's from a pamphlet of the second years ponies :) For the back of the box, they cut the rainbow ponies out though. The artwork inside looks intact.

Thanks for the clarification. And thank you in general

Envious! I would love to add both of these items to my collection but I am too miserable to pay international shipping. I enjoyed reading your comparison notes between the original Pretty Parlour and the re-release. Congrats and thanks for sharing :frolic:

Congrats on your playset and Skydancer! Skydancer is one of my fave ponies! And I personally wouldn’t have minded if hasbro had sewn the tail ribbons onto most of the ponies. At least they probably wouldn’t get lost that way!
