Title: McDonald's ponies releasing order.
Post by: DJ Midli on March 08, 2012, 09:58:10 PM
Didn't see this here so, for your viewing pleasure and to help anyone collecting these :).

Only thing I can think of to note that isn't made obvious, is if a store is sold out of a cycle, they immediately have to put out the next cycle whether or not it is scheduled. Should they run out off all cycles and are unable to order they fall to a default backup toy.

As is generally the case(with any merchandise). Stores in remote areas will be your best bets as the weeks wear on.

Yeah I don't understand that chart, it says on the top that it doesn't start till the 9th but it only lists them giving out cycle 2 and 3 after the 9th

Its when they can START giving out cycle 2 and cycle 3 unless they run out of the previous cycle. So anything listed as part of cycle 2 you won't be able to get until the cycle 2 start date OR they run out of cycle 1 toys.

Hypothetically if a store sells no toys by the last week they will have all toys avaliable for sale in the last week.

Understanding now?

If you want to just buy the toys instead of getting them with happy meals, can you buy them all at once regardless of cycle, or do you have to wait until the store is giving out a toy before they'll sell it to you?

when i've gone in to buy just the toys before, they would only sell me what was currently being given out, they wouldn't let me have anything earlier than what they had.

That's weird.
When I went to McDonald's for the Hello Kitty toys in December I was able to buy all of them at once.
Either way I will probably just stop once or twice a week to pick up some of them.

We can never get them ahead of when they're being given out, either.

You can buy just the toys for $1 each.
I have heard some people say that they will charge you $2 if you don't buy food, but I haven't run into that problem.

I think its like $1 + tax. but i don't know if they've raised their prices or not.

I believe every location can charge a different price on toys without the food. I think mine is closer to two dollars per toy without food (granted it's a McDonald's in a Wal-Mart, but proof none the less). At that point I'd just buy the food and eat it.. or if I catch a homeless person/someone who clearly needs food after the fact I would just give it to them instead.

General consensus i've got from the grapevine i've been speaking to, is the earliest a store i going to be shipped all its ponies is the 11th. But even then stores will probably have issue with you trying to get cycle 2 and 3 before their "release date".

Hilariously enough some of the management today across canada didn't even realize they had been shipped 4 different types of ponies. (A brony in sasketchewan actually had to show a manager the screenshot I posted above to get the 4 ponies that are already out).

!!! I wasn't aware they'll only charge you $1 with food! I always just go in and buy the pony toys and always get charged $2.

Well from now on I'll be buying some food and see if I can get them cheaper! :D Thanks guys!

Ugh, I was hoping Lily Blossom would be first, so I didn't have to stalk all the McD's in the area til she came out. Still going tomorrow, though.

I wonder how many McDs stick to the schedule though. When the very first G3  McD  ponies came out, I was able to buy the whole set, but when they had the anniversary ones  - they  wouldn't let me but the whole set (and I tried 3 different store).

The McDs at our local walmart seems like they just dump a  bunch into a bin  - so it's really random what you get.  With this last release of Hot Wheels, it was a pain to track down all the different cars for my sons!

Last time ponies were at Mcd in 2011, I went to about 7 or 8 in my area on the same day and they all had different ponies out--usually two at a time--but none of the stores had the same two.  Also, one store had all of them you could buy at once--that is the store I am going to today.  So at least in my area, I don't think any Mcd stores stick to the schedule.

This spoils the "hunting" fun... but you can get them all at once if you say "Customer Appreciation set".  Evidently corporate Mcdonalds puts out the Customer Appreciation Sets for collectors.  I did that with the last McDs ponies and with these too.  They give you a bag with all 8.  Mine cost $16.  Like I said it's not as "fun". but it's an easy way to get them all if you are worried.

When the Hello Kitty toys were last at McDonald's, I asked the store manager about the customer appreciation box so I could just get the whole set at once. He said he has no idea what I'm talking about, that nothing like that exists and I wouldn't be able to buy any more than what they had at a time, which was usually 2 different toys. Obviously, he was lying. But I did see someone on EQD say that if they don't open the customer appreciation box up to sell any of the sets out of it, they can send it back for a refund. I'm guessing this was the case, but the manager could have told me that instead of lying to me. Another time I asked about it, and another manager told me they don't get that until the end of the promotion (I was that was a lie, but by then I'd have them all so no point in trying) but I read on EQD that they get the customer appreciation box before the promotion starts, along with the display case with all the toys.

There are actually two McDonald's near my house, but I usually go to the one a bit farther away because they keep a bunch of the toys in a bin near where they bag up the food, which makes it easy to check which ones they have. The one near my house just puts a bunch in the Happy Meal bags or boxes, so to check, they have to look in each box, which are stacked on top of each other, so it's too much of a pain. Plus, that one tends to be busier since it has a big Play Place in it.

Actually thank you for this. Ill pass this on to the brony community. It also helps me in not getting fat by ordering food e.e; I hope the mcdonalds in the walmart near my work will do this.

Also just came back from mcdonalds, I have 1 fluttershy 2 pinkie pies and a rarity (No twilight ;-;..damnit why does my fav pony elude me)

No prob, actually I thought everypony knew this already, or that enough folks who worked at McDs before knew.  *shrugs*

My understanding is that each store gets a limited number of these complete sets, so don't wait too long or the regular happy meal dispersals will "eat" into the sets.  Although... the one I got mine at yesterday day says they have "20 sets"... which I'm a lil dubious about.  Maybe she misunderstood my question.

Anyway glad to be of help.   I used a chisel to pop that weird keychain knob off of my Lilly Blossom.  Just waiting for the yellow (yes) nail polish to dry! XD

LOL Back when I worked at a McDs as a teen "Customer Appreciation Gift" was code for a complaining customer. (the ones that make us cry at night) I would hesitate to use it. Many McDs are franchised and may not have such "sets" or even know what you're talking about if mentioned.

Last year I was able to buy all of them, but that was in the last week so I don't know if they followed as schedule or not. (I'll find out today muhahaha) I also paid $1.50/each 'cept the two that came with my meals, but still less expensive then buying the whole meal.

I dunno... I went to two different McDonald's this morning...

First one... didn't give me any issue getting a full set. The lady taking the drive thru orders, had to go check, but charged me for a full set... no problem! :cheer:

The second... told me that they "aren't allowed" to sell full sets until the promotion was over. So I bought a couple of extras and went on my way.

The third (in a Walmart) was more than happy to help me with a full set, AFTEr lunch time. So I'm headed back there in a bit... to procure another full set! :frolic:

And now... I give you all... PICS!

Everyone together!

I just ADORE Lily Blossom! She's so cute! :lovey:

But... SIGH! Why did Hasbro/McDonald's have to decide to make them "functional"? I mean honestly... there's no way those ponies will stay on those stupid clasps on a kid's backpack! They'll be lost in an instand. >.< UGH... My set will definately have those things on their heads removed...

Anywho... there are more pics in that webshots album! I'm off to hit that Walmart McDonald's again! WOOT!

EDIT: Also... I was told that the toys were (by themselves) $1.29 if you purchase food... and $1.99 otherwise. And I believe the "set" I managed to purchase was $8.52 or something like that... We'll see what I'm charged at thsi Walmart one... ;)

they aren't supposed to go all the way through the pony's head, it just kinda sits in there, there's an indentation where the clip hooks on

Well poop... >.<

Went back to the McDonalds in Walmart... and the manager was breathing down the girl's neck. Even though I had been there an hour before AND purchased food (but was told it was too busy for them to go back and grab me a set of ponies... please come back AFTER lunch), I was charged $15.52 for the full set of 8... UGH!!!

Oh well... another full set for customizing etc... and I don't have to eat all of that food... O.o

Now I can relax... and just randomly hit McDs for extra ponies!

I got Rarity but I just don't like the tail not betting purple like it should.
That's easily fixed with some purple dye! :D

Yoink! Snagged them all, thanks so much for posting this. I wasn't going to ask (I am a big chicken) but I did and they were happy to dig out one of each. I'm with you guys on that the clasp think is stupid. X-acto knife to the rescue! They were $1.25 each (we got food too). (Oregon City, top of the hill if anyone wants to know.)

As for managers lying, they might be. Or they might just have been too stupid to read their own promotional info. Having worked in retail, I've had managers that were oblivious to things that would have been obvious to anyone who has 2 or more brain cells.

I told my bf to ask for the "Customer Appreciation Set" and he told me later that they had no idea what in the world he was talking about. So sadly, not every McDonald location or employee is privy to this mythical and wonderful box.

So I went to the McD I mentioned earlier in this thread and asked which ponies they had out.  So the guy says we have all of them and asked if I was a collector, so I told him yes.  So he grabs a Mcd to go bag, goes to the back of the store for like 2 min, and then returns.  Now while I was waiting, I pull out a $20 thinking its going to cost me $16.  But when he returns he hands me the bag, and I ask if all 8 are in there--he says yes--and then tells me to take the bag--and I'm like "I don't need to pay?" and he said no.  I was like what?!  So I got all 8 for free!  Crazy!  This store is defintely my fav McDonalds.  LOL.

Update for me...

Not only did the employee not know what I was talking about, but when I asked the manager about a "set" she was rude. She shifted her weight, rolled her eyes and through gritted teeth said that NO they do not carry any such thing. She gave a nasty glare to the employee and went out of view. I was like all Srsly Face on her. Dang, its three in afternoon, not lunch rush... I not demanding a first born child... I'm just asking if they have the Customer Appreciation Set... somebody needs to chill.

My only guess is I wasn't the first to ask about it or she really didn't want to be disturbed. No wonder the Jack-in-the-Box is 3x busier. Anyway, I was only able to get Rarity and Pinkie.

@apanda0622- Wish I was near yours instead of mine.

Dang it, the one I hit at lunch today still had the Beanie Babies out!  (Bank and Sparks, for you fellow Ottawa people.)  I may feel the need to go McD hopping tomorrow.

I think my co-workers were more disappointed than I was today that there were no Ponies.  :P

I tried that one too! The one on Rideau was where I found Rarity and Pinkie :) The one on Elgin was also still on the bear things (though they were the nicest one that I talked to!)

Even though the girl at our closest McDs is very nice, I think I am going to stop at the one close to where I work to see if I can get the other 6. Or at least Rarity and Pinkie Pie.

Back in the G3 days the Elgin one was always a week or two behind the others with the toys.  It's a good place to check if you're missing one or two later on.

I went with a friend to McDonald's today and as we walked in they still had the StarWars/BuildaBear stuff, but as we were leaving, I literally slammed on my breaks backing out of the parking place because they started putting up the My Little Pony display. XD;

Thing was, they wouldn't let me buy any of the My Little Pony toys....so I'm guessing that until they sell out of starwars or build a bear or whatever, they won't let me buy the new ones. :/ I'm going to be checking alot now that I know they should be out.

LOL.

WHAT?! How nice! The one on Bass Rd in Macon wouldn't let me buy any of them, yet. That's so cool that he did that for you!

I just got a full set earlier today!! For the Customer Appreciation Set you need to go to a McDonald's that is either in a mall or a Walmart. They always get shipped those sets. ;)

Ok my mom and I had quite the adventure tonight in search of these ponies.

First we stopped at the mc donalds here in town (this is after i bought the first 4 from them earlier today) and they told us they only had pinkie pie available. i asked them about the other 3 and they said "no, we only have pinkie pie available" so my mom asked to buy 2 pinkie pies. we were handed a pinkie pie and a fluttershy. i looked at the guy and said "...does this look like a pinkie pie to you?!" he shrugged and turned away to go about his business. well my mom wasn't happy with that. she wanted a set for me, one for her, and one to sell on ebay. so we drove an hour to go to the next mc donalds. they were RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUDE RUDE RUDE. and I WILL be calling the corporate office to complain. the cashier was an air headed girl. then i asked (after reading in here) for the customer satisfaction box. the girl asked her manager "they want to buy some stuff from the customer satasfaction box" and he wouldn't look at us, he gave her an angry look and said "We don't have one. there is no such thing." i then stepped in front of mom and started to talk. i said "then look in the back" he said "All we have is the first one" i said "that's not true at all and you know it. i didn't drive an hour just for you to lie to me." and i left, VERY angry. he wouldn't look me in the eye either! so we drove a half an hour to the NEXT mc donalds. we're an hour and a half into driving time now. we stopped and i walked in, the manager was at the register. i said "here's what the deal is.... i want a cheeseburger happy meal, with a diet coke. and a pony toy... and please please please tell me you have a customer satisfaction box of ponies. this is the 3rd mc donalds i've stopped at tonight. the last one we went to was very rude to me, and we drove over an hour in search of these ponies. do you have any of the full sets of ponies for sale?" and he said "yeah we haven't even opened that box yet, i'll go check" and he started to go back and look and he stopped and said "you know what, if you come back when the promotion is over, on the 29th, i'll give you the display too" i was wide eyed and i said "OH THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME!!!!!" he was VERY kind. he sold us 3 sets, mom paid $56 on ponies, $30 on gas, and our happy meal intake for the night was 4. XD we're both sick to our stomachs and have huge headaches. but he sold us the sets of ponies, i get the display box, and we went home. total drive time was 2 hours. but it was worth it.

I just got Pinkie today. . .  and she cost me $2 which was more than I was expecting but I wasn't in the mood to question it.

I should've looked at this thread earlier; I had no idea about the customer appreciation sets.  They sound awesome.  I don't know if I want a whole set (i tend to usually only want a couple of the McD ponies) but it's a great idea.  :)

Success! I got two complete sets in just one trip. Surprisingly, it was at the same McDonald's where a manager told me last year that he had no idea what I was talking about, and a customer satisfaction box wasn't a real thing.

I went in around 7:30PM, so I was the only customer. I told the girl at the register that I wanted to buy a few complete sets of the ponies, so she got the manager. I then told him I was interested in buying a few complete sets of ponies, and asked if I could buy them from the customer satisfaction box. He right away says "sure, no problem." and goes in the back for a few minutes. When he came back, he was carrying a big box, which he sat on the counter and opened. He told me even if I was buying food, he could only discount 2 of the 16 I was buying, but I figured it was worth it since then I wouldn't have to keep coming back to look for all the different ponies. So the cashier and I dug out two of each of the ponies and I was on my way.

If someone manages to successfully remove those plastic tumors from the ponies' heads, please post pics as well as instructions on how to do it. Making them clip-ons was a bad idea.

Got the full set today! I went with two other friends, and we each asked if we could purchase the set. The cashier was friendly and went to check in the back. But the manager wasn't nice at all! She was complaining about how she wasn't allowed to sell sets, but the awesome cashier told her to just get the toys. I apologized for the trouble, but she just laughed and said it was no big deal. The employee that brought out the toys only brought one set, and was not happy about having to fish around for two more. All the while, the manager was ranting about how ridiculous it was. I got 7 ponies because one came with the Happy Meal, and the employee who brought them was complaining about having to fish out the one I already had from the bag! But the cashier came to the rescue and knew which I had already. At the end of the day, all three of us got the full set, but boy was it interesting! They charged about $16 for them, and I don't think the manager was feeling too generous lol. But hey, what a great cashier!
Then we all watched the episode together! I had a great pony day!

Question for anyone who got Applejack, did you notice anything odd about her tail? Out of the three people in my pony hunting group, two of our Applejacks look like the tail hole almost melted into itself a bit. I can see the tail plug inside her body, and her butt looks sunken in a bit. Just my luck, or has anyone else noticed this?

They were so nice, even though they were a little busy. They even went the extra mile for me by running over to the store room for a new box to pick out a Cheerilee to complete my set!

Oh well, I'll go back in a few days and see if I can get something different.

Well, like I said, the McDs here are random. Friday on my way to work I stopped at one and picked up a Happy Meal and I asked which color ponies they had -  the guy was like "uhhhh, I don't know" - so I asked well, can I get the White one? (figuring that based on the release schedule it should be Rarity).

So I get to work and open up my box and who do I get?

Lilly Blossom... #6 :P  - not that I'm complaining, since I really only wanted to get her and Applejack

I didn't even know about this but I'm going to keep it in mind now. I went to two different McDs today and the first only had #1 and #2. The second I asked if they had anything beyond #2 and the dude said no. >.>  I said do you have any in back or something? And he was like 'well, there's the customer appreciation box.' And I was :whoa:  Then he asked if I had any yet and I said I already had #1 and #2. So he dug for the other 6 off towards the side. Looked like he was having a good time because he lined them all up and kept consulting the display for which he needed. Then when he gave the bag to me it was 'Here's your Little Collection.' Which cracked me up for some reason. :lmao:

Only cost me $7.71 total. :frolic:

$1.93 for #1 and #2 and $5.78 for the other six. :bigups: So glad I moved back to Indiana. They only charge .99 cents here for a happy meal toy without food and they charged me over $2 when I lived in Missouri! :drunk:

Rainbow Dash and Lily Blossom are my favorites. Apple Jack is also cute.

Happy Hunting everypony! :lovey:

XD
so glad he was nice though!!

I'm in Indiana, and they were $1.80 each for me.  I went after work and they told me they only had #1 and #2. I didn't ask about the customer appreciation box because I was tired, hungry, and didn't want to argue. Plus some of the people in there sort of creeped me out. (I'm a bad person for admitting that, but whatever. I'm tired.) So I'll be checking out the other McDonald'ses around to see what they've got. At least I was able to get Pinkie Pie and Rarity. So I told him today about the customer appreciation set today, he went to another McDonald's and when he mentioned it, the employees exclaimed "So THAT'S what that other box of toys is for!" and brought out a huge box of ponies

My boyfriend bought a whole set, and the next lady in line bought five whole sets.  :|

Lol I am having the worst luck getting them! So far I've gotten two Pinkie Pies (the cashier told my bf he had two different ponies that day and later we found out he had given him two Pinkie Pies instead of one Pinkie Pie + the other pony...), a messed up Twilight Sparkle and a nice Fluttershy... We went to change the Twilight Sparkle for another pony and ended up with... yep, a second Fluttershy (am I sensing a theme here?)! So I had two Fluttershys, one of which we exchanged at a different McDonald location for a 2011 Cheerilee (which I thought was kinda neat).

As of tonight I have two Pinkie Pies, a Fluttershy, and a 2011 Cheerilee. And we've been to like... 5 different locations lol. So sad.

Mom and I stopped by McD's yesterday. I didn't even bother asking what ponies they had because it was so busy in there. A new Menard's (hardware store) just opened down the street from McD's and they were having their grand opening this weekend. So EVERYBODY in town went to the grand opening and then went to Mcd's for lunch. My McD's hates it when I ask for a different toy anyway. So I knew that it would be pointless to ask when the place was so packed.

I got a Fluttershy in my happy meal and my mom got a LPS toy! I didn't even get a MLP box. Just generic happy meal paper bags. I did look around to see what other little girls got and everybody had Fluttershy.

I also agree that the keychain idea was stupid. I noticed that the poster showed Pinkie in the train. Why didn't they make the toys a train set? Each pony could come with a car (Pinkie gets the engine) and they all hook together. McD's hasn't done a train set in many years... or any set where the toys interact with each other at all.

That train idea would have been cute! I miss the day of my childhood when McDonald's used to sometimes release toys that could be hooked up to make one big toy as well as be stand-alone.

The first McDonald's I went to on Sunday just had a couple of them, but I went to another nearby, and they have the whole set. :) When I told them I was a collector, they went elsewhere in the store and were able to quickly pull together a complete set for me to buy rather than fishing two out of each box. I hit my first McDonalds today... that had actually RUN OUT of ponies! *gasp!*

It was rather aggrivating too... because in the drive thru I specifically asked for a PONY Kid's Meal... with three EXTRA PONIES. They charged me correctly...a nd then... handed me a box with freaking Hello Kitty in it. >.<

Went back inside... said... "Uh.... Ponies?" they looked at me blankly, "Sorry...  we're all out of ponies."

Well if you had said that... I could have nixed my order, and gone elsewhere... to save me the time. >.<

But hey... I hit another one down the road... and traded all four of them for Lily Blossoms! WOOT!

Is anyone else having a hard time aquiring Twilight?? :oP

I had a Twilight Sparkle but traded her for [another] Fluttershy because mine had seriously terrible eyes. Now I can't seem to find another one lol. I have ended up with no less than 4 Fluttershys, two of which I exchanged for different ponies (Rarity and 2011 Cheerilee) and one of which is still in my bf's car, getting a nice tan and awaiting her eventual fate of being traded for a different pony.

Tried the customer appreciation box at the Mcdonalds on St Laurent Blvd in Ottawa, Manager had no idea what I was going on about and when i queried if it was franchised or corporate it was a corporate store... So not sure whats going on there. Im gonna try the Kanata Walmart Mc Donalds on wed and if they don't have it im calling stores and asking them over the phone if they know about it.
I thought it was "satisfaction box" not appreciation, maybe that will help?
I might be wrong though.... :|  I'd feel too uncomfortable asking about it myself anyways.. ._.

Yeah those 'Customer Appreciation' sets don't seem to exist here in Canada ;P I have 6/8 now from doing a lot of hunting, can't wait for RD and Cheerilee :D

I'm not surprised  :( Well, at least I won't have to confuse any managers now  :P Thanks!

that is NOT all they have. jerk faces.
i want to buy 2 of each of the last 4 >.<
one guy behind the counter told me "next week is our truck, come back and i'll see what i can find" woo!!! a brony perhaps?

I got Pinkie Pie today. Weird. I wasn't expecting her but at least it was one I wanted.
Now to just get Dash and/or Twilight and I'll be happy!

When I was walking my dog earlier I found a Rainbow Dash clip on the sidewalk, so I have, umm, half of her? It would have been cooler to find the pony.

I have now been to 6 Mcdonalds in Ottawa Canada, none of them have had any idea about this customer appreciation set. I have been to 2 corporate location, a franchised location and 3 walmart locations. Nada. That said I am now short RBD and Cherilee my pony goal of the complete collection with some extras... but still aggrivating!

TL:DR Customer appreciation set doesn't exist in Canada.

Aww, don't feel too bad. It doesn't seem to exist in the area I live in either (or my luck is terrible and I am winding up with all the ignorant/new cashiers). Got so tired of the weird looks that I gave up asking for the set and am just trying to collect them individually lol.

Yep, I've done it though I also stripped the whole pony and plan to repaint it and sculpt it a tail (had a TON of rarities) I just took an exacto knife to the plastic and carefully cut away at it. There are some dings that could be smoothed out or covered with epoxy and I think that when removing any of them, you'll need to find a paint to match the color of the mane.

Don't know how helpful that is but that's what I did.

I've been picking up the ponies at the local McDonalds, but my boyfriend surprised me today with a Twilight Sparkle. :) Since I have a spare, I'm going to take a dremel to that circle on her head and drill straight through--if I do it right, it'll be PERFECT for turning into a keychain!

I finally completed my whole set :D ONE last Cheerilee at one McD's last night, and another McD's had a manager nice enough to rip open a box of RD's for me and sell me one before they were supposed to xD SO HAPEEEE *3* I'm really pleased with how large they are :)

So far I've  managed to get Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Lily Blossom, and Applejack. I'll have to head back over to McD's sometime next week in hopes of finding the rest. I have the last G4 set which isn't that dissimilar, so I'm not in much of a hurry. :)

I'm getting addicted to Shamrock Shakes! Thank goodness they're only around for a limited time, lol, I dislike the other flavors normally.

Ha!  Finally had some success and got the first four Ponies today (Ottawa people, I was at the South Keys Walmart.)  They were nice enough to go into the back and pull out a new box for me.  I'm hoping I can get AJ and RD.  My cubicle at work will be full of Ponies.

Yeah, those Shamrock Shakes are really growing on me as well lol. They have that very slight citrusy taste along with the mint that's kinda weird but nice!

Bah, I really want AJ but I'm getting afraid I won't be able to find her before the promotion ends. I also really want TS and RD but they're lesser priority. I don't really care about finding Cheerilee and Lily Blossom.

I've snagged a few... but most of the McDonald's I hit this week... were on AJ and Lily. Which would mean that RD and Cheerilee will be this week...

I'll be headed out tomorrow maybe... to see if I can get them :D

I think my co-workers were more disappointed than I was today that there were no Ponies.  :P

Aw, I loved the old beanies! Does anyone know how many or what they were?

Also, could someone please tell me what "The Customer Appreciation Set" consists of?

I think they meant the build a bear toys, since that's what was before ponies.

I think I'll go and see if I can get another pony today. I still only have two..

I went to the McDonald's I got my two complete sets from (out of the Customer Satisfaction box) over the weekend and they had Rarity and Pinkie Pie, so I got an extra of each to trade. I'm surprised they had those two, though, since they're number 1 & 2, and that particular McDonald's always releases the toys in order. So it's definitely odd that they would still be on the first two this late in the promotion. Unless there were a few of them left before they moved on to the next ones, and they've now gone through all the others already.
Title: Re: McDonald's ponies releasing order.
Post by: Rococo on March 20, 2012, 03:54:01 PM
I finally got them all, after much toing and froing. Seriously, why had none of the places I went to heard of the customer satisfaction box? It would've saved us gas and time if they had. Probably money too... lol

I had to switch out Rainbow Dash multiple times because the ones I kept getting had hideously applicated eye paint. The one I finally settled on has sort of messed up eye paint still, but she looks a lot less frightening then the others ones I almost got saddled with. A lot of my McDs ponies have sloppy paint in general (like my double exposure-freckled AJ, bless her adorable heart), but you can't expect too much from mass-produced Happy Meal toys I guess. xD

Edit: The pony toys made in Vietnam all seem to have this weird molding "scab" on their front leg while the McDs ponies made in China do not. Hmm.

My Twilight has this on her leg. It looks awful. The paint on her hair and eyes is a bit chipped too. Eh.

I noticed that on some of mine, too. I didn't even think to look at the markings (I assumed they were all made in China like everything else) but yeah, all the ones that say Vietnam on them have that weird chunk cut out of the front of their leg.

Mine are terrible quality compared to past McD's releases. Poor Rainbow Dash is the worst off by far. Lily Blossom is so cute I got two of her, but even she's got issues. I might take some pictures tomorrow if I think of it. Even still, they're not that much worse than the $5 brushables.

I'm guessing the ponies sold really well if they're selling out of them more than a week early. I'm glad I got mine early. Though, I kind of wish I had picked up two extra sets to trade instead of one, but I didn't really have the money at the time. I'm still holding out on trading the set I have because I don't know what I want to trade it for, but I'm thinking I could try getting Skywishes or Cherry Pie and Diamond Rose for them. Maybe I should just hold out on trading the set until later though.

By the way, does anyone know which ponies were made in Vietnam & which ones were made in China? Just curious, as I don't have the whole collection and I'm debating whether or not I should get the others since they vary in quality... :\

They're random regarding which are made where. My Lily Blossoms are made in China but I have seen people's whose were made in Vietnam. The Vietnamese ones have a weird "scabbing" injection site in their front leg while the Chinese ones do not. It also says on the back of the toy bag where the content (the pony in this case lol) was made.

Edit: I have a Fluttershy and Lily Blossom MIP for sale, $5.00 for both of them (not including shipping), if anyone needs. I'm trying not to split them up because I sort of already packaged them together in a 6x9 bubble mailer and taped the hell out of it.  :yikes:

I'm still looking for an extra Pinkie or Twilight - Have an unopened Cheerilee for trading!
