I didn't know if this should go here or in the corral, but look at this photo I found. Applejack and me visiting Grannie many, MANY, years ago.
This is also the Applejack, if some of you guys remember my story, who was burned by my father.

Oh...I didn’t know about that. But this is a lovely photo! I’m sure you had a wonderful time with your grandmother, based on the expression!

Such a sweet photo. I did not know about the story with your father, but I love that Applejack was brought with you on visits.

What a cute photo! I do remember that story and I'm still so sorry it happened to you :( but at least you have this picture of happier times :)

Aww, such an awesome (and adorable) pic to have!! <3 Sorry to hear about what happened to your AJ, though. :(
-
I'm so sorry about your pony. :(
But what a lovely photo! :D

You were adorable as a mite, Gator! :D

Adorable photo!

I hate parents who are so prejudiced against such trivial things as their kid liking to play with a toy pony :( I said it once and I'll say it again, if more boys had played with ponies when they were little the world would have been a much better place.

That's a gem of a photo! :o)
How many AJ's do you have now?
-
That's a wonderful gem you found <3 Keep it close ^^

Lol, mlp4me, maybe three and a baby? I try to avoid doubles, but I think through lots I've acquired three.
-
Aww that's cuuuute.

Gator, that photo is totally adorable, and you seem so, so happy! Honestly, seeing it made my heart fill with happiness, both because of its cheerful vibes and because it brought up memories of me and my granny  so huge thanks for sharing! I missed your story about AJ, but I'm sorry to hear she was destroyed, and especially by someone as close as your father. It must have been traumatising :( :hugs:

I wouldn't say hate, as (I believe, based on comments) that they are mostly just doing what they were taught to, and/or what they think is best for the child (as: to avoid the child being bullied), but I agree with your base thought. Genderification of toys has already bugged me as a child, and it does even more so as an adult. As a girl I'm on the luckier side: I could play with my ponies and GI Joes and Matchbox cars and noone gave (too obvious) strange looks (though as my father was a car driving instructor, I think people probably just associated the car part with my family 'heritage'), but vice versa it would have been different. And that is just not right. Never was, but it should especially not be in 2019... I cringe at the fact that most of our online toy shops still have the toys sorted as "Girls' toys" and "Boys' toys" as the first filtering factor. Or it rather makes me sad...
