Our countrys capital has a quite cool shop for used toys. It's in a shady area filled with small garages and other business' related to car parts. But that toy shop, lying in the place you'd least expect, is unique in our country. They sell all kinds of toys from the 80s to today and the place is cramped full.
Of course, this means they also have G1 ponies. They aalways cost 12€ each, no matter if it's a baity Lemon Drop or a rare euro exclusive. Last time they only had three awfuly common ponies, but this time I was greeted with a nice surprise: Baby Candy!!! Now her set isn't that rare here in Finland, but still a great find.
Later on I made an even better discovery: behind the cashiers desk, on a pile of toys, I spotted a baby pony with neon bright bled symbols. (According to the shops owner it was a pile of unsorted toys that had just gotten stuck the way it is, and resembled more of a monument at this point) Immediatly I thought of greek ponies, and asked to see it. After the pony was handed to me, I realized I had been correct! It was greek baby Bowtie!!! And I thought it would be irrational to think I could find more nirvanas, after finding a piggy in a charity shop and Regentropfen at a flea market last year. I was wrong. Funny enough, we have been considering going to Greece next year if we can gather the money!

Baby Bowtie is missing half of her mane plugs and has some cuts in her leftover mane. She also has an orange stain on her face. Her symbols have faded to resemble a pink stain, too. ): Some tail rust and a dry tail, but I'll get to those eventualy.
Baby Candy just has some head-body mismatch going on. She will just need a tail and mane wash now.

I doubt I have even registered fully yet that I found her. :'D With my piggy it took nearly a year and I still can not fully accept it's true and not a dream.
And saddest part is, I'm no even that big of a fan of Regentropfen! She looked so typical and common to me that I would have left her there if I hadn't checked who she actualy is....

I get it not registering! Here, a nirvana would be practically impossible, so if I were you I think I would be screaming xD
I might need some of your pony luck lol

I doubt it's impossible, since my trio of oddities has sailed here from foreign countries as well. But my luck, yes, you need it. I find as many nirvanas alone in the wild as some collectors find normal HK/China/Italy ponies all together lol. And yes I can't count italians as nirvanas, you should see how common they are in Europe.

Wow! Congrats! :D They are very sweet despite their flaws.

It's not THAT amazing, less amazing than the time I found a piggy pony. But this is a great find nonethless!!! I have been hoping to find a greek like some other finnish collector did last year, but didn't think it would be this easy.

Thanks and I agree!!! I'm not even sure do I want to replace Bowties missing mane.
-
Awesome find! They might be in bad shape but that is an amazing find! Congrats! :yippee:
Will you be restoring Bowtie?

Congrats on your new ponies!!! :)

I agree! Though Baby Candy is in amazing shape, just some discoloration.
I doubt I can do anything for Bowtie, her plastic is frail and I suck at painting. For her mane I'm not sure would she look better with a full mane or her current one.

Nirvanas are rare everywhere. :"D G1s in general though? I'm more of already having issues with how many someone has donated to a thrift shop near me.

What an amazing find!! Just: wow...
Thanks! I have learned to understand nirvanas have traveled with people who bought them on vacations about everywhere. It's always exciting to find one, even if it isn't on the rarer end of things!

Super finds! I think Baby Candy is especially cute

That is SO lucky! That shop sounds amazing. Huge congrats!

Her mane has an unusualy pretty shade of green! It's nearly december and Baby Candy has something christmas-like in her, no better time to find her.

Yeah! Thanks! And it is. I never even imagined such stores would exist in smaller european countries.

I think I have found 2 or 3 nirvanas in finland in 20 years of going to a fleamarket. Yeah G1's especially and being in a good/mint condition. :P
I dont collect G3's tough, so I cant say for them how easy/hard it is.

I'm at 3 in two years not counting italians since they're about everywhere. But there's on Instagram a collector couple who have found stuff like Tornado, two greek ponies and a piggy in just last two or three years from Finlands flea markets.
G1s in general I find about one or two times a month or two. That is before someone donated around 20 or more ponies to my nearby thrift shop that is very slow at putting them on sale.
-
:dropjaw:
Lol, yes this brag is THAT amazing! I am super happy for you (and just a touch envious too, lol!). Major, major congrats :frolic:

Thanks!! If only I had had an account here when I found my piggy and Regentropfen, I would have loved to see people screaming about someone finding them in the wild in the year of 2017.

They don't. It started with a baby Lickety-Split on august, and in september they really started putting them out. I have found G1s still in november from there. When will this end?

It indeed is. I have found greek, spanish and german here. And who knows what that one G1 mystery comb I have is, it reminds a Macau ponys comb but that's near to impossible.
Thanks!
