Title: Can2012-uk on eBay
Post by: Lancer on February 01, 2018, 12:34:06 PM
No advice needed, just a warning to others not to deal with this eBay buyer.  I've had so many issues with this eBayer over the last couple of months.  She's blocked from bidding now, but still keeps writing rude messages to me, demanding I unblock her as she "wants to buy stuff".

Long story, but I'll try and give a general synopsis.

Basically she bought a £3 pony from me before Christmas. After she won it, she started demanding that I lower my postage from £3.40 to £2.90 (even though she herself charges £3.60 P&P on the items she sells!). I explained I charge a flat 50p packaging fee on all of my items and she eventually accepted. But then she started asking for further items to be included in the parcel at outrageous discounts. I eventually let her have a £5 lot of "custom bait" (these were really bad, half customised by a kid ponies, covered in gloopy paint) ponies for £2 just to shut her up, then blocked her from bidding on further items.

She then starts trying to bid on more items and discovers she's been blocked. She blew up my inbox screaming at me for blocking her and, stupidly scared of the fact she had already bought two items and had the power to neg me, I blamed it on an eBay glitch and unblocked her. She proceeded to bid on TEN more items.

She receives the first two items, and starts writing frantically to tell me that she's stripped the paint off of the "custom bait" ponies and that one of them doesn't have eyes or cutie mark underneath so it "must not be authentic" and she wants a refund. She probably wrote to me 12-14 times before I got online and saw her complaints. I explained they were sold as seen, were only supposed to be used for customs so it never dawned on me to check if they had eyes or cutie marks. (Surely she could see I hadn't stripped the paint to see what condition they were in underneath!) She continued to harass me for the rest of the day, then eventually shut up and accepted she wasn't getting any further discount.

A few days later (having won eight of the ten items she'd bid on), she writes to me again...

"How much do I own u Now I hope I don't win anymore lol

I think for all it works out £27?? Plus £3.40 post
Should be able to post in same Box or bag Like u did before

So total is £30.40p"

I wrote to her, confirmed the total and told her how to cancel her bids on the last two items if that was what she wanted to do, but she ignored me.

The last item ended a couple of days later and she went absolutely crazy! And I mean, CRAZY. I couldn't even write back to her on my slow computer because of all the pop ups saying I had new emails from her...

"I'm Sorry but I don't pay all this it's almost

£40?? Plus post

Can u cancel all the £5 ones

And I'm hoping it's just going to When me a bid over 20 to pay

I won't all the £3 ones I pay and post
Hope I don't win more"

WTH? If you can't afford to buy something, don't bid! Simple as that.

She begins frantically sending messages on the individual items like "Keep this" and "cancel that". But she was contradicting herself and asking to buy something she'd wanted to cancel two minutes before.

She also started making up her own total. Literally commenting on the £3 ponies and trying to knock money off (presumably hoping I wouldn't notice! Never mind the fact that eBay would charge her the real amount when I sent the invoice! :P )

This is how the emails went...

"I won't this one

It's £3"

"This one

So that's 2 for £6"

"This one so £3 so far

Is 1 £3 second £3 3rd is £3"

"This one

£11" (Er...4 x 3 is £12!)

"This one makes it £13" (Um...nope. 5 x 3 is £15!)

"And this one

So all the £3 ponys and this dolls makes total off

£14 so far" (What the... Now she's trying to get the last £3 item for £1?!?!?!?! 6x3 is £18, not £14!)

"Sorry but I can't pay this I'm winning them all

Can I text too cancel a few

And pay for a few tonight"

"I have sent a text to cancel a few please I am still having a few

I can't afford that I have won lots

It's Getting over £50" (Well, actually £37 in total and she didn't have any more bids...but let's give her the benefit of the doubt, she wasn't trying to rook me and get £3 items for £1, her maths skills aren't great! :P )

"So I won't the first 2 ones that light up or sing

And all the pink pies and water one just Not the £4 one tho

And to also keep the one I just won that goes with the swan boat I need that to go with my daughters swan boat
That I don't have the pony to go with the boat

Just to cancel the £5 ones
The £4 pony

And the doll

I pay for the rest today When I get a message back from u"

I told her I wasn't prepared to cancel now that she'd won the items and would have to open unpaid item cases for them...which I immediately did before she could whine about that as well. She took it surprisingly well, but then she never paid for the remaining six items!  I wrote to her a few days later and asked if she still wanted them - no response.  I opened unpaid item cases on her a couple of days after that - no response.  I closed the unpaid item cases - no response.

FIVE DAYS LATER (January 15th), she writes again, messaging me on a completely different pony to the ones she hadn't paid for.

"Hi

Can I not buy this doll

On the 23d

I get payed then

And was going to pay for the ponys

But it's all been cancels and blocked

Can I buy this doll"

If she was going to pay for the ponies, surely she would have responded to my messages and unpaid item cases before I closed them?!  I ignored her.  But she's obviously still trying to buy stuff from me as she keeps writing and asking why she's blocked/demanding I unblock her so that she can bid on more stuff.  I am not going to unblock her, and recommend that others don't deal with her either.  It's really not worth it.

I posted about this on Facebook and two other people said they've had problems with her (one in the UK, one in another country) so this isn't an isolated case and she buys from international sellers too.  I also notice she's left quite a bit of negative feedback in recent months. (She never left feedback for me at all so at least I dodged that one!)

Well, congratulations if you got through that long story!  Hope this helps someone out. :)

What a nightmare! Glad she's blocked now. She truly deserves it for all that crap she's pulled with you.

I have never seen someone act like that before.  That is shocking.  The thing is you could have reported her for the feedback comment to ebay when you blocked her the first time.  That clearly was manipulation if you didn't do what she wanted.  You may have said you did and I got lost in all her comments lol.

All I can say is wow. Kudos to you for enduring everything she threw at you. I hope you contact eBay and report her because she possibly has harassed other sellers, too.

Going on my block list...thank you and sorry you had to deal with that.

Edit to add - went to add her to my list and noticed at the bottom of seller preferences there is an option to stop blocked bidders from contacting you. Maybe that would help prevent any further contact?

Luckily I don't put ponies on eBay.uk, I only charge £2.50 - £2.90 on things I'm selling.

Thanks for the warning.

If you haven't I would report her to ebay.

Hmm the name doesn’t sound familiar, but I remember a seller here having problems with a buyer sending a string of messages to confuse the seller into giving her a discount on ponies. Not sure if it’s the same buyer, but the messages sound similar. Definitely a buyer to avoid, anyway.

Hope it's okay to bump this up - Can2012-uk is doing the rounds again and I just want people to be warned!  Six messages from her on six different eBay items this morning:

"Hi Can you unblock me please"

"Hi can you unblock me please so I can bid on a few Only

It's my daughters birthday in 5weeks"

"Can I bid on this please"

"Can I bid on this please"

"If you unblock me please

Can I bid"

"Hi can you unblock me please so I can bid on this

Looking for ponys for. My daughters 3rd birthday in May

Can u please unblock me"

I don't know if she just enjoys pestering me, or if she'll attempt to buy ponies from others instead!  Either way, beware! :P

Oh wow, this person is something else. I suggest updating your settings to not allow blocked bidders to contact you. Might not get rid of them completely (as I understand it the 'contact seller' button will vanish for them but they can still contact you through old messages), but if they still don't get the hint report them to eBay for harrasment, might get their account suspended and learn a lesson.

Oh dear, this person does sound like such 'fun'. I wonder why she carries on at you so determinedly? It isn't as if you are the only person on the whole of eBay selling ponies after all. I really hope that she gets the message and leaves you alone. Otherwise I agree with everyone else, there is no call for her messages: report her if they don't stop.
