Maybe we caught a peek of these in Toyfair photos- but MLPMerch has some really nice large photos of them.

I love the baby sea ponies and the mini packs, but not sure about the rest. I hope the kids like them as much as we loved the original sea ponies!

I don't know if I'll buy any standard brushable sized seaponies, they look a little awkward to me, but the larger few with glittery eyes sure are tempting. I am going to buy all of the Baby seaponies though, they are just darling and I must have them all! ^.^

The babies are adorable as are the fashion size. I'm not really into the regular brushables.

I wish they had not done a Monster High and aquafied the mane 6. Aside from seeming like they got some inspiration from Scarrier Reef, it's just annoying that not even a different species release can avoid rereleases of the mane six.

I think the characters are probably based on the MLP movie- there are maybe a couple of new characters?
I'm not seeing "great scarrier reef" inspiration really- it seems more to me they look like the sea pony in that 2013 book "Under the Sparkling Sea"

Only... I wish they'd gone with the fins instead of hooves- I have nothing against Hippocampi, but I think the look is better with a more solid horse design...visitors can't see pics , please register or login

They managed a pearly mermaid Rarity but couldn't make a pearly regular one to go with the others in the pearly line? What's up with that Hasbro?
I'm gonna need about a hundred of those sea babies for customs, though...

I like that they have shells. Now that I've got a good look at the baby merponies up close, I don't think I like them that much. They look strange.

I totally feel ya here. I will be purchasing only new characters. I refuse to buy any more of the mane 6.

Those babies are pretty cute...from the side! Why is Hasbro still putting those same back-glancing eyes on their ponies? You'd think someone would notice how goofy they are, especially with some of their promo pics being taken from the front...

Even with a new species introduced we're still stuck with toys of the Mane 6... That is so annoying ugh..

I am talking about the idea of rereleasing the core characters in sea species format. Which Scarrier Reef did and which the MLP movie seems about to do. I wasn't talking about the plot - know nothing about that at all.

I don't think they got the inspiration from Great Scarrier Reef, "turning characters into mermaids" is kind of a generic trope. Like I remember Barbie doing it mid-way through G3; I was so frustrated because here BARBIE was producing 'sea ponies' (for Barbie to ride) and Hasbro wasn't, lol. And Hasbro themselves did it with the Ponyville figures near the end of G3.5.

I don't like it either, the recycling of the mane six. But that's just Hasbro for you. It's like the G3 core seven.

Well one thing the movie is about is the Mane 6 turning into Sea Ponies so they are kinda needed since can you imagine if a kid wanted to re enact the movie and had to do it with the regular brushies? We are getting some new Sea Pony characters Princess Skystar and Queen Nuovo and all those little baby ones.
Then again I've never had any issues with rereleases since kids that are new to the show still will need the main characters. They just need to release some newbies too at the same time which thankfully Hasbro has been getting better about.

Yeah but whenever new species were introduced/reintroduced in the older cartoons, we didn't have the established characters turning into them.

The baby ones are super cute, I really want to save up for them. They look about the size of my gen three mermaid ones, that I am still missing quite a few of them.

We also didn't have a main character in those cartoons so good at the Transfiguration school of magic that change from 1 type of object to another was considered possible common place even when creating or destroying life is concerned as far as the general audience for the show could tell rather than just a limited amount among the theorist community.

She was at Toy Fair so she does exist.

I can't tell you how excited this makes me. I've been hoping for sea ponies to return for so long. Thing is, now I have to put my wallet where my mouth is and buy them. <3 Which is good, because they're all super cute.

Well, the Toyfair photo shows her as being translucent maybe? So maybe she'll get a special set- RD is definitely Hasbro's "best pony" so I am positive you will see her as a sea pony of some kind...

I think I'm going to get a real fishtank like the one on the picture and buy some of these Ponies and put them in the tank with those plastic plants in wacky colors and stuff! :blush: :blush: :blush: Just because I want a real tank with real fishies...but my fiance doesn't want any real pets anymore!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

I like them! I'll buy the translucent mane 6, and the new characters. I sincerely hope queen novo is sold outside that giant castle! I like all the clams and shells and sea themed accessories!

@habsro pleeeease make a brushable novo... or any other seapony besides skystar... my inner completionist will go insane if there's only 1 seapony with brushable hair...
Also, I'm waiting to see if there's any complete set of the mane 6 (pearly sea or non-pearly sea, not a mixture of both for me). It'd be a shame if they made aaaaaall these mane 6 rereleases and didn't include one full set with the same gimmick.
