1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
Eleven years? Wow, I didn't realize it had been that long. Yup, 11 years. :)
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
I had a few G1s as a kid, but they weren't really my thing. I got really into ponies after my best friend gave me some g3 stuff as a birthday gift.
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)?
11 years.
4. Who was your first pony?
As a kid, my absolute first pony was Wind Whistler. As a collector, it was G3 Merriweather.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
G1 white baby Valentine's pony, found at thrift store.
6. What is your favorite generation?
G1s all the way. :)
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
100? Maybe? I'd have to count them again.

Ice Crystal.

1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
I've played with them since I was 4 years old, in 1985. When I became too 'old' for them, I stored my childhood collection away, but never got rid of them. I discovered the joys of ebay in 2004, and with that came the actual collecting.
2. How did you start collecting ponies? See above
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)? 2006
4. Who was your first pony? I've always thought TE Galaxy together with NBBE Ribbon, but I've discovered an old slide at home showing me with Baby Glory before I had the other two. So Baby Glory it was. She's the only pony from my childhood herd who seems to have gone missing, I can't even remember having her.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)? I remember that very well. My 13th birthday, and my best friend gave me Nesthaeckchen Baby Wuerfelchen. We were watching Beverly Hills 90210 at that time, and I felt a little awkward getting a pony. This led to her being in pristine condition even now, complete with all her lovely accessories.
6. What is your favorite generation? G1 of course, but I also collect G3, a few G2 babies, and G4 (focus on prototypes and FS)
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection? somewhere between 700-800, I haven't counted in ages
8. Who's your grail pony, or alternatively, the pony you want most at the moment? Blue Posey (unattainable grail), any Spanish TAF, MIB Sticky and Sniffles
9. Who's your favorite pony and why? (choose only one! hard, I know) Surprise, my best friend had her when we grew up, and I always adored her and the little one. They were the first I bought on ebay, and I'm having an army of maybe 20 now, plus MIB and MOC.

I think I had a stuffed Pinkie Pie when I was younger before anything I bought when I started collecting.

Coloratura. I'm very behind, I didn't get any of the new ones. I can't afford to :cry:

Gen 1!
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
I'd say 250-300.

Nightglider!

Also Nightglider :P She's just so pretty and I love space.

Since around age 15. I'm 30 now :)
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
Right when I was emerging from my tomboy phase I was gifted 5 G1s (HT Tabby, TE Partytime, SHS FlowerDream, SW High Flyer and SW Glow) and it has been downhill ever since.
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)?
2003 or so? I remember starting at the MLPTP way back before it even switched names before the arena was created.

5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
I just got one of my grails in the mail! Mexican Starflower
6. What is your favorite generation?
G1. Hands down.

Downsized to 150 or so down from about 1000
8. Who's your grail pony, or alternatively, the pony you want most at the moment?
Large Symbol Nightlight. I sold mine due to cancer.

Okay. Let's see if I can answer all those with my Swiss cheese brain...
1. About four years officially.
2. I started around 2004 with a little starswirl. I was a little girl at the time, and as time passed, I grew older and put ponies behind me. Then I was looking through the build a bear workshop catalog in summer 2013 and I saw a princess twilight sparkle. From what I remembered from the odd time I saw merchandise for the show, the purple one wasn't a princess with wings. So I investigated. And faster than you can say "super-cider-squeezy-6000!" I was hooked.
3. Well, about as long as I've been officially collecting. So yeah, four years.
4. My first pony? A G3 starswirl. She had a little raincoat and everything. It's in a bin somewhere in the basement. But she herself is in my room. Standing tall and proud!
5. Last pony? That would be a g1 moondancer. She was my grail girl. And now I have my grail girl!
6. Favorite gen? Gosh, I can't pick one. I'd say g1 because it's the original, G3 because I grew up with that stuff (looking back I despise the cartoons with a passion only a tenth grade animation student could have) and G4, as I've made so many friends and learnt so many important things that help me out in daily life. It's made me more confident and proud of who I am. And g2 is my least favorite. Probably because it was just never here. Never had it. I am jealous of you who did however.
7. Pony population? Approximately 25. I never took the time to count!
8. Current grail? Toughie...after getting moondancer I've had to rethink the whole grail thing. I'd have to say it's a g1 mint/near mint posey. All the poseys here have white hair and other problems like markers and stains. Looks a bit like my grandma after she let five year old me do her makeup!
9. Fave pony? I had to think about this, but g1 peachy takes the cake. She's a generic pony. And that means almost nothing to base a personality on, leaving it up to my sister and I to decide who she is when we are playing ponies together. One day she's the bratty pony who complains, the next she's some sort of dragon-pony war hero.

Well I started collecting as a preschooler back in the late 80s. I sold off my entire herd by age 11 or 12. Then I started acquiring petite ponies in 2009. Then I started getting G3s in 2014 & rebuying G1s in 2016.

I loved MLP as a kid. As an adult I found myself drawn back to MLP when I saw all the lovely G3s in stores.

I can't recall. I know it was either Lofty, Peachy, Majesty, or Baby Cotton Candy
When I got back into collecting as an adult my first pony was G3 Sno Glo.

I think it was Salty.
6. What is your favorite generation?
G1, followed closely by G3.

I can't pick just one, but I'll say Mirror Mirror. She was one of my childhood ponies and one of the first ones I sought out when I began collecting as an adult.

Its a tie between G1 and G3, since I grew up with both.

36(I had to count them lol).

Citrus Sweetheart, because I lost mine when I was little.

G3 Cotton Candy and Citrus Sweetheart.

1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
Wow, I can't even remember. Grew up with the G1s then I lost interest. In my early teens I opened up my eyes for these lovely little ponies again and that was in the beginning of the G2 era so maybe I've been around since 1997? *feels old*
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
I always loved ponies as a kid! In my teens I manage so salvage parts of my childhood collection by saving them from the abusive care of my siblings.
At the toystores the G2 had just been launched (did manage to snag up a set of the Surprise Newborns at retail values but sadly as a new collector I didn't understand the future value so they where de-MOCed) and I realized how much I had been missing my old G1 ponies so I started to search for information about them online and suddenly I was hooked.
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)?
Back in the days there was only one larger forum; The MLPTP. When a second larger forum, MLPArena opened in 2003 it was a pretty big deal :D
4. Who was your first pony?
Surprise & Sparkler. My first baby was baby Lemondrop <3
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
Wow, I haven't bough a pony in ages! Since I already have most of my most wanted I decided I need to sell of a couple before buying more ponies but I did buy Mimic and the green alt. Lily of the Valley birthflower pony a couple of years back.
6. What is your favorite generation?
Generation 1!
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
Maybe 300? I think I need to count someday.
8. Who's your grail pony, or alternatively, the pony you want most at the moment?
Hmm, though question. I'm always on the lookout for mint upgrades. I'd love the have more argentina Alitas! <3

Technically, I don't. Not yet. I have ponies from childhood, and a few from when my roommate and I customised them in college, but that's about it. I haven't started actively seeking any out, just looking for info on the ones I have thus far. I may start buying old ponies I wanted as a kid, but I'm not sure about that yet because I have a lot of hobbies as it is.

I found out about the Arena years ago when I did custom ponies with my roommate, but I only made an account in 2015. I haven't exactly been a part of the community until recently, however. Certain aspects of the community kind of turned me away at the time, but things change, and I've come back to find it wasn't so scary after all!
4. Who was your first pony?
I ... actually have no idea. I think Baby Sparkle Gusty.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
Ah. Pinkie Pie and her suitcase. My niece was briefly into ponies, so we bought a handful to have around the house as "surprise" toys for when she and her brother would come over. Unfortunately, she grew out of Barbie and the Ponies really, really fast, so by the time I was going to give it to her, she was over it. I kept it myself and it's just been sitting in my sewing room ever since. I'm not super fond of the G4 models, but her hedgehog is cute.
6. What is your favorite generation?
G1's later years, though I really enjoy some of the poses from G3.
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
I'm really not sure. Maybe half a dozen G1 and about a dozen G3s?
8. Who's your grail pony, or alternatively, the pony you want most at the moment?
I don't really have one at the moment, though I'd really like to move my collection from storage in the US to here in Australia with me, so I could properly assess it. ^^;

Baby Sparkle Gusty. She's just adorable and spritely, and who doesn't love glitter? Plus, she's a unicorn, and I adored unicorns as a kid, and still do today.

G2 has a special place in my heart. I only collect them MiB to recreate the feeling I had as a child when I looked at Ponies in the store or got one as a present from my dad.

G1 = around 216 which only 2 of them are from my childhood, had more childhood Ponies but I sold them for upgrades.
G2 = 13 from my childhood and 10 MiB which I bought later on Ebay.

This is a hard one as there are some Ponies that I really would enjoy having. Rapunzel is an obvious one, but I would really enjoy having a MiB or mint condition Skippity Doo + stand.

G2 Berry Bright. I was already in love with her as a child. I love the meadow/berry picking feeling. Carrying her two little baskets filled with berries. I love her sparkly green eyes and her orange body as green and orange are both my favorite colors and I love blonde hair on Ponies.Oh and I just love ribbons in hair! She just has it all! So much love!!!

I started collecting in 1995-96, my first year of college.

Driving home one weekend from college, I stopped at a flea-antique market. I found a baby Yo-Yo, and it brought up memories of my childhood ponies that I was forced to get rid of. So I started searching out and finding all the ponies I could.

MlpArena 2004. I took a break for several years when I was broke and had no internet.

A lot! I don't collect sweet heart sister type ponies, so I have none of those. No second run princess ponies with weird tinsel forelocks. I don't collect those weird teeny babies that came after newborns. Other than those I am almost complete on U.S. ponies except for several Baby sea ponies, a couple more birthflower, Red Roses, a windy wing, and some harder to find mail orders. Then I have a few international ponies.

Would love Sweet Scoops one day.

1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
since I was really little . In case you're new and you're wondering that would be about 1983/4 and I saw my first G1. My next door neighbour bought her daughter Bowtie and I was allowed to borrow her for a night. I didn't want to give her back :P

I've had ponies alllllmost as long as Hasbro has been making them XD . How did I start?.. oopsy I already answered that one . After I *had* to give Bowtie back , my mom (also fell in love with ponies) bought me my own ponies i :happy:
I was a secret collector when I was in my teens, and I didn't like G2 for years so didn't get any of those until about 2009 ish?... As an Adult?.. I had only a few ponies on display but in 2008 my hubby found out I had literally hundreds hidden away from when I was a kid and encouraged me to display the lot as well as get ones I'd always wanted....
they multiplied even faster after hubby was on board with it :squee: :blush:

Hmm well.. I joined the Arena in Jan 2009 but I was lurking waaay before that. I guess I wasn't brave enough to join in until then . ---> :facepalm:

G1 Bluebelle , the UK version with the heart case that had hair clips in it . I still have her of course. Also Butterscotch with the Gymkhana set . Mom bought me both sets :heart:

G4.5 Family Moments set with Princess Cadence, Shining Armor and baby Flurry heart.

G1 always :hearts: cant beat the original (although I prefer the G4 cartoons)

hahahahaha I should sooo so not admit the extent of my pony addiction in actual numbers :silly: :good: I refused to keep count after early 2010 when my collection was already over 1000 :bateyes: :angel: . Somewhere around 2000 I think TBH

that's a toughie! :faint: :drunk: :wonder: ..... if I was hunting MIB then BnG Ringlets in French, German or Spanish packaging, same with MIB Chief - need the Euro language versions.
If I'm hunting loose ponies then prolly Spanish salty or Spanish Tex cos I love the boy ponies and I have almost all releases but not those those two. yet.

When I was a kid I had to donate my ponies, I was a allowed to keep a few favorites (donating my toys was a regular occurrence, my mom would just come into my room with a trash bag and we'd fill it up) and as a young teen I started feeling nostalgic and missing my childhood G1 ponies

I was on the arena before when it was rather new but I got more interested in traveling to Japan so just forgot about it. When I started watching FiM in 2011 I made a new account, FiM really got me back into pony collecting so while G4 is not my favorite generation I'm thankful it reignited the spark

Between being too young and having so many ponies I don't remember! I do remember when I first started collecting G3. I had heard Hasbro was rebooting my little pony and I ran out to Target and got Kimono

Pearly mo baby Blossom at a garage sale this past weekend

I guess I'll say Sweetstuff, I had a friend when I was a kid she was many years older than me but she always kindly played ponies with me and she had Sweetstuff. I always coveted her Sweetstuff specifically but never got one of my own haha. In retrospect I bet she would've given it to me if I asked since she only brought the ponies out for me

Twilight Sparkle. I started watching the FiM show when I was seven or eight, and loved TS.

1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
Hmm, hard to say. Well I had some when I was a kid, wasn't really into them then though. I was really into the Ponyvilles near the end of G3/start of G3.5 but I dunno if I'd really say I was *collecting* then.. kind of, I guess.. I had my G3s and one G1 (Cool Breeze) and liked them but I was more a Sylvanian collector at that point. The Dollymix G1s hit my area in late 2011 and I was hardcore collecting them. Then in summer 2012 I got the G1 Pony Bride and that's it, I was hooked!
So I guess I've been collecting on and off for most of my life really, but 2012 is when I consider myself to have really started collecting :)
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
kind of went into this above but I'll elaborate; wasn't really into them when I was a kid (not much of a horse person) but liked them later on. I always thought custom ponies were very cool.. never been into G3.5 and by the time I was really interested in ponies, they were all that was on the shelves. Dollymix G1s reignited the spark in late 2011. Summer 2012 (around June I believe), my mum found an antique store that had G1s and brought back Pony Bride as a gift; we went back there a lot and I was hooked :B
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)?
Since Jan 2013 when I first joined the Arena, I guess. I tend to keep to myself so I was into ponies before but never joined any communities (I did lurk on the Arena for a good few years before I finally made the plunge and joined, though :P). I tend to lurk on the edge of fandoms and whatnot instead of joining communities for them ^^;

G2 Ivy!
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
those suuuuper cute sitting Easter G4 ponies. RD and Pinkie are with me atm, Twilight got a bit lost along the way (long story) so I'm waiting for her to arrive :B

G1! But I love all of them except G3.5.

no idea about the exact number, but probably around ~650, maybe. That's counting Equestria Girls and misc stuff like the Running Press ponies, though.

I think in 1998 when I was in grade 10. I of course had a large childhood collection that I kept but they were in storage for a while so in high school is when I actually started collecting them and displaying them.

I'm not 100% sure what exactly sparked my interest in my old toys again but I think it was more my care bears that got me back into collecting. It led me to digging out my care bears from storage and finding my pony bin and my rainbow brite dolls etc so I instantly fell back in love with all those 80's toys and put them on display in my room. Those were the wonderful days of finding tons of G1's at flea markets and garage sales for 10 cents a pony so I started scooping them up. My collection went back into hibernation when I moved out at 21 and I started collecting again in 2010 when my daughter was 4 and I pulled them out for her to play with and started buying her G4's. Then I realized that I wasn't done being a collector so I took out my favorites for my collection and let her play with the rest until she outgrew them and how they're all mine again.

I'd say '98-'99 when I got into collecting as a teen and was active online researching and buying on ebay. I don't remember exactly when the TP started but I'm sure I was on there.

I think Gusty. My first few ponies were Gusty, Sea Mist (sea pony), Tiny Bubbles (baby sea pony), Baby Cuddles and Majesty. So I could be wrong but I always had it in my head that Gusty was my first and forever favorite

I found a Greek Peachy at the thrift store a couple weeks ago!!! Plus some other common G1's
6. What is your favorite generation?
G1 for sure! G4 would be 2nd

I'm estimating 250ish G1's that aren't doubles. I need to update my inventory list. Counting G3's and G4's I must be over 500 but I've never counted them

Gusty. She was my first and forever favorite pony as far as I can remember. I love unicorns and I always loved that her symbol was a maple leaf since I'm Canadian. I always thought of her as a Canadian pony. :blush:

Less than a year, I should've known better though I've always been prone to collecting things.

I used to have my mom mail me baity G3s to customize, but then she mailed me Butterscotch, who I thought was too pretty to bait, so I put her on my shelf, and then somehow decided I needed more so that she had friends. I got into G1s after I got into restoration and started fixing some of my boss' old ponies for her.

Technically speaking I was in the brony community in 2012 on Tumblr, so a few years now even though I didn't start collecting until recently.

The first pony I remember getting was actually a G3.5 Rainbowdash but I repainted her, the first G3 was obviously Butterscotch, my first G1 were Shady and Sundance, and my first G4 was a Pursey Pink that someone gave me in a trade uvu

I was on vacation, visiting a K-Mart for some essentials, and I saw a G3.5 Sweetie Belle. I remembered loving ponies when I was younger, and I had heard that there was a new pony reboot that people my age (13) and older were into. I impulse bought her, and never looked back! :-)

I always forget but I guess my collection technically started with my Funrise Twilight Sparkle, because I started seeking out the other ones to go with her. That was around xmas 2012 I think? But I didn't really start until November/December 2015 when I picked up the Cutie Mark Magic Twilight and Sunset Shimmer. After that it just ballooned. So I'd still go with the second one being the start date. So I'd go with it having been a bit over a year and a half?

I actually haven't thought about that since I got mine. I guess most wanted would be the G2 Castle playset with Sugar Berry, but that's not so much for the pony as the playset. I guess after that the set I'm looking for because of the ponies would be Trueheart and Sweetheart.

I remember the neon black and pink MLPTP board. I remember the redesign of the MLPTP. Then it was overrun with spam and ads...and the MLP Arena came out. My first thought was "A DIFFERENT pony board! Oh goodness...that will never work!" So I delayed making an account out of "protest" - finally making an account for fear out of my name getting taken one month after it opened in October 2003. The arena was created in September 2003. Lol! Guess I was a bit wrong. (I blame teenage angst!)

Honestly, no clue. Been getting them since I was 2, and I'm 32...so...no memory. :) I remember sea ponies as bathtub toys though!

It was actually a way to escape my real life problems. I saw collectors on the Internet and learned that you could buy ponies in second hand stores. I remember finding Glory and Moondancer in a second hand store in March of 2000 and I was ecstatic! Also I started to warm up to the 'G2' ponies. Over the course of the year the madness got a tight grip on me.

My first cautious appearance was in '98 or '99 on the original black and pink MLPTP boards. I joined the MLP Arena in 2006. I'm not always active, though. It's kinda on and off.

Flower Garland. Bought her at the local second hand market last month.

I often wonder what's the deal with ponies anyway, but they do something to my brain and I hope I'm never cured.

Celestia. She's just the best and has a great quiet sense of humor and I love her Picard style of leadership. The recent season pilot reminded me how much I love her. And she's white; I love white ponies and I don't know why.
You forgot to ask what's your favorite gimmick, like BBE or Brush n Grow etc. I like BBEs because they have actual round eyeballs even if they are a little beady. The eyes are what I like about piggies.

Only for about as long as I've had this account. I'm very new.

Cherry Treats! She's plain compared to a lot of other ponies, but I fell in love with that bright red hair of hers and how it contrasted with her white body and soft blue eyes. She's almost a little rockabilly and I think that's very unique in the MLP world.

I have a Sea Breeze currently coming to me in the mail! I've been going through a bit of a personally rough time, and such a summery-looking pony made me smile. I decided to treat myself.

Generation 1, definitely. They stand out to me because of how innocent/chubby/sweet they look compared to the other generations, and the sheer variety of their poses and color schemes.

I was always jealous but knew better than to ask my parents for extra things. My sister and I each got 1 toy at Christmas and birthdays. Star Hopper was a lucky find at our elementary school's garage sale. I recall there were three ponies available there - Star Hopper, Sunspot, and Glory. I grabbed Star Hopper the second I saw her, and my sister was going to take Sunspot, but I inadvertently convinced her to take Glory instead because she was also a unicorn. To this day I still wonder what happened to that Sunspot.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
Oh hmmm.... not counting ponies intended for customization, probably Chief. I also have collected a few of the G4 plushes, I think the last one was Build-A-Bear Ditzy/Muffins.

Effectively since Christmas 1984, when I was 2, but I took a year's break when I began secondary school in 1993-4. Yeah, I know, the year all those rare UK ponies came out, but they were never sold in my area anyway, so it didn't really end up a problem. When we began collecting again, my parents actually found a store in London that did mail order that had almost all of them, so we were really lucky. London obviously had better connections than the welsh borders.
Carboot sale collecting began in 1995. I actually think it was July 2nd. The ponies were Lickety Split and Parasol and I was super excited that we found old ponies for so cheap. That was the start of the recollect.
Online collecting since 1997, from a library computer. My first trade pony was Mimic in November 1997.
I have taken time off collecting online over that time, but the G1 ponies have never gone away into storage again since that year in the mid 1990s. My G2 and G3 ponies are in storage in the attic and G3 I have largely downsized.
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
My mother saw Windy in BHS and thought she was pretty, so bought her for me. I wasn't convinced, but she tried again for my birthday with Baby Blossom. That did the trick. I started buying my own ponies effectively from when I was five, with birthday and christmas money. I would also generally get a pony for each of those occasions, either from parents or a grandparent. If I was lucky, sometimes I got two. I had 68 ponies as a child, when they went into the attic for that year's hiatus.

As mentioned above, since 1997, but it wasn't the same kind of community there. That was when I first had adverts posted on the black and pink MLPTP board, met my first trade partner (literally in 1998) and sent information to Dream Valley, but when we got the net at home in April 1998 I joined the ponypeople mailing list, and it went on since then. I didn't join the Arena till 2005, but I remember when it was begun.
I have been here more or less for 20 years, on and off. I'm old.
4. Who was your first pony?
Rainbow pony Windy, as mentioned above.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
I haven't seen her yet, but she's at home with my parents at the moment as she arrived a day or two ago - MIB Princess Star Gleamer. In terms of loose ponies, I had the three third set G4 pearlies from my sister for my birthday and before that, CMM Fluttershy as a mascot for my trip. I can't remember what my last loose G1 was. It might have been Brazilian Strawberry Fair, but if so it was a year ago or more.

Gen 1. That is my collection. The others are just for fun.

I have tried to count many times and always lost count. I am going to estimate somewhere around 1500 if including all various generations and about 100 MIP G1 (with some other MIP that I can't remember and may well be getting rid of from other gens). About 1000 loose G1 I think.
Also somewhere close to 250 pony packages and backcards, which are my equivalent Nirvana, so I think them important enough to mention!

Baby Sugarcake. She's the last mainstream G1 I don't have. Also MOC Windy on the UK card, because I am working my way through my childhood ponies MIP and I still don't have her :'( I have a few other childhood ponies MIP I am looking for, but I have had some mixed luck :/ Baby Tic Tac Toe disappeared in the mail and I just missed out on Rainbow Magic, so I think that quest will be going on a long time...it's doubly hard when your childhood ponies were sold on UK cards :D since the US card is easier to find but not good enough for my nostalgia.

Ponies always felt so overwhelming because there are so many. I only collected few at a time and it is my "mane" focus of collecting now, because I have mostly completed the other toy lines.

It's so fun reading everyone's responses! Here are my own responses to my own post, lol . . .
1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
Ponies have just about always been part of my life, ever since I was three; as far as collecting ponies proper (that is, regularly buying them as collectibles instead of just as playthings), I've been collecting since I was about 10, with a break of about six years during high school and college. I didn't sell any of my collection during that time, thankfully, and began again in about 2013 after finding ponies at a flea market.
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
When I was three, I was playing with Glory and Peachy in a thrift store, and my mom says the owner gave them to me for free because she saw how much I loved them. That started me on ponies, which I got from thrift stores and stores throughout my childhood (though it was the last of G1 in the U.S. so there were almost more in thrift stores than stores). When I was in fifth or sixth grade, around 1997 or 1998, I got online and found Dream Valley and was sucked in. :lol: I think that the release of G2 spurred me on; I remember getting the McDonalds happy meal toys and seeing the G2s in stores. The first pony I bought online was Baby Ribbs because a childhood friend had had him; I paid for him by money order (how times have changed!) Soon after I got Baby Paws and Baby Glory.

I was an active lurker for the most part until maybe 2001, when I joined Moonshadow's message board (anyone remember that?) Then I took a hiatus a few years later, as mentioned, and came back in 2013 and joined the Arena. Back in the day I called myself Little Glory (I think someone had already taken the name Baby Glory).

I have many favorites, but I'll have to go with Baby Glory. I love stars and white and blue, and her pose. She was one of the first ponies I bought and my online name for a long time, and in my childhood games (I did play with ponies even into high school, though my excuse was that my sister was still young enough and would be sad if I stopped) she was a favorite pony with a stubborn, loyal disposition. If there were a fire she'd be one of the first ponies I'd grab. (In fact, when a hurricane almost hit our area she and Baby Moondancer were among the few I was able to take with me to the shelter.)

I've had ponies since second grade, so 14 years. My G3s were some of my favorite toys as a kid.
Somewhere along the line that shifted from ponies for playing to ponies for collecting but it's hard to pin point when exactly that happened since there hasn't really been a time I wasn't buying ponies or receiving ponies for gifts.

I guess when I really started thinking of myself as a collector (though I probably had technically been one for a while before that) was in my junior year of high school when I bought my first G1 on eBay. Milky Way really sparked my love of G1 and buying her was what prompted me to join the Arena. I just saw her on eBay and knew that she had to be mine lol. I'd have been crushed if I didn't win that auction!

Maybe 2011 or 2012 ish? I was sort of involved in the FiM community around then but I wasn't really involved in any forums or anything. I was mostly just posting drawings on Deviant Art, but I wasn't really interacting with other fans beyond that. I feel like I really became a part of the community when I joined here in 2013.

I began collecting in 2014, so about three years now.
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
In the summer of 2014, I tore my ACL, and I was limited on what I could do for months. My family took me to Build-A-Bear for my birthday since it wouldn't require me to walk around and such. I saw the Rainbow Dash plushie and fell in love with her. (Funny enough, I began to hate her in the show to an extent.) I went back a few days later to make AJ, and I've been hooked ever since. I've even dug out my childhood ponies.
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)?
I don't remember exactly when I became part of the Internet community, probably not long after I got my Rainbow Dash.
4. Who was your first pony?
Rainbow Dash is technically the first pony I got when I began collecting, but my first pony ever was either my childhood G3 Rainbow Flash or my G1 Starglow.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
I actually purchased three together. G1 Seawinkle, Bubbles, and Morning Glory.
6. What is your favorite generation?
I really love G1, but G3 will always have a place in my heart since I grew up with it.
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
Somewhere between 200 and 250.
8. Who's your grail pony, or alternatively, the pony you want most at the moment?
G1 Merry Treats. I don't think she's too hard to find, but as someone who only buys ponies I find "in the wild," I have a hard time finding specific ponies.

Oh, gosh, this is a hard one. My favorite pony changes all the time. Right now, I'd have to go with G3 Toola Roola from the Core 7 line. I'm an artist, and finding an art pony was a huge surprised when I began collecting older ponies.

My first ponies were G2s that my mom got me as a kid, but I first got into collecting when I was about 10. So 13 years.

As I mentioned, I started playing with G2s, and when I saw G3s pop up in stores I was like "I know I'm too old for this, but these remind me of the ones I played with years ago, so it'd be cool to have a few of them." It just escalated from there!

It started with G4 in 2011, I was a "brony" whose special interest was FIM and I started talking to other bronies online. Eventually I saw the things that were wrong in that community and kind of left, but never stopped loving FIM or any of the previous generations.
4. Who was your first pony?
I believe it was Light Heart and Sundance, with the birthday playset.
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
My most recent G3s I purchased have been Periwinkle, Kiwi Tart and Citrus Sweetheart. More recently, a new friend gave me his childhood mini Light Heart figure!

G3
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
I'd have to count, which I plan on doing eventually. I have trouble guesstimating amounts, so I could have anywhere from 30 to 200 ponies in total.

Kimono!

If I had to choose just one, it'd be Applejack. G4 specifically, but I also love G1 Applejack.

I used to have ponies from my childhood. I had to leave them behind because I left home at early age. My grandparents kept them in stock. When I had my own apartment I brought them back in my life and bought more :)

A south african pony as the most pricey one, a little bit close to home I would go for a So soft Gusty to complete the collection

On and off for as long as I can remember, if we count fakies as well. Ponies have always been 'my thing'.

Apparently before my mum and step-dad (a pony breeder) got together, I fell in love with the pony in the paddock 2 doors down, who was lead past our house every day. Her name was Twinkle.

Ruby Lips.

G1, closely followed by G2&3.

Probably between 600 & 800, I haven't counted properly in a while.

I don't really have grails, and at the moment I'm not after anyone in particular. But if I HAD to choose one pony to hunt for right now, it'd probably be something to complete my G4 collection as it's pretty close to done. Maybe one of the baby ponies - Twist or silver spoon?

Such a tough call, I love so many of them! I'm going to say my very first pony, my original Ruby Lips that I named Silky Mane, after Lady Lovely Lock's horse. I have a duplicate Ruby Lips in my collection who's in much better condition, (and not sporting a bob cut and a poofy tail a perfume puff would be proud of!) but Silky mane has got to be my absolute favourite pony in existence.
As for favourite pony character, I'd say Nightglider.

My mum bought me a barnacle when i was crying one day from a charity shop and I never looked back! Always been my favourite toy :)

I think my first site was the MLPTP when I was about 13 so a good 15 years in the community. I think PKW was the first pony peep I ever spoke to!

The last pony I have acquired would be NC Posey

100% G1 followed by G2. Probably because they hold the most childhood memories for me.

My favourite pony of all time would Mimic. I watched the golden horseshoes episode on VHS and just fell in love with her! I searched for years before discovering the internet and found out her true value. An ex partner eventually bought her for me. Literally the best thing to come out of that relationship haha

Bubbles and Bowtie as a child, I remember getting them together, and Posey as an adult collector. I still have Bowtie, but not Bubbles. :cry:
