Hi, everyone! I'm Ridi. I'm from Norway, but live in Japan currently. I'm 31, and just started out as a grad school student, majoring in global environmental studies.
I grew up with G1 My Little Pony, and they were on and off my favorite thing as a kid. Cartoons have been my main interest since way back then, and I loved the G1 show, but the only way I had of watching it was in the form of hard to obtain VHS tapes... as a result, I ended up watching the same episodes over and over again. My favorite was The End of Flutter Valley, which was presented as a movie on the VHS I got.
My favorite pony is Morning Glory for this reason, and I focus my small adult collection on the ponies that appeared in the same episodes. I was born a few years too late to be able to buy flutter ponies when they were in stores (the ponies that were available by the time I reached the target age were mostly the Europe exclusives. I picked out Baby Candy and Baby Ruby), so I would make wings out of plastic bags and tape them to my ponies. :B I also really wanted Spike, but the Dream Castle was but a pipe dream. Being so fond of the cartoon, I was really bummed I missed out on the ponies that starred in it, but thankfully I have three older siblings who passed their TV-featured ponies on to me. My favorite was Baby Moondancer. I'm really happy to be able to buy all the ponies I never got to have as a kid!
I tend to have a really short attention span when it comes to forums, but for what it's worth I'm really happy to be a part of a pony community! I don't have any pictures of my collection at the moment as it's back in Norway, but I'll be sure to photograph it next time I'm there.
