I'm not entirely sure where, when, or how it happened, or who did it, but at some point my Cutie Mark Crew collection (about 10 blindbags + one 5 pack) got recycled or misplaced. As of some point along the journey from my college dorm back to home for winter break, they just disappeared. Whoops. I've read about this happening to other people, but it was quite a shock to experience myself.
While I'm very upset about the total waste of money that was, most of them were duplicates or ones I didn't want anyway. Besides the 5 pack, which I plan on buying again at some point, there were only about 3 I actually wanted, and none of them were the 2 I really wanted from the 1st wave - Cheerilee and Muffin Horse - or ones I can't get back in another wave.
Anyway, this IS a brag, because today I more-or-less accidentally ended up in the toy aisle of Kroger, saw only one wave 1 Cutie Mark Crew blind capsule remaining, and decided to grab it because I had a good feeling about it. Got home, opened it, saw watermelons, almost flipped out. I got Cheerilee! Better luck in one night - and one blindbag - than multiple rounds amounting to roughly 10 blindbags last time.
I love my little Cheerilee, she's so cute.
Edit: making this my general brag thread because apparently I couldn't take the hint when the universe told me I shouldn't buy these, as I've only continued to acquire more.

Ohhhhh we all have done something like that unfortunately! But it is hopeful to hear you have a new start to your collection. Also maybe they still may turn up! You never know!

Oh I was wondering how this would be a brag. Happy that you found the one you wanted, but I hope the rest of your collection turns up somewhere, somehow.

After practically buying every store near me out of wave 1 (thankfully these seem to be perpetually on sale in all the different chains near me - I've seen them at full price once, and that was when I bought Cheerilee), my local Target apparently found another case in their store room, because after a few cases of wave 2 they suddenly put wave 1 back up. I happened to be at Target, and managed to grab the very last 6 (they were on clearance, and also on the bottom shelf of a weird endcap nowhere near the toy section, so I nearly missed them). Buy them, get home, open the first 4. Two dupes, two I didn't particularly want but also didn't have yet - not that bad of a haul. I open the fifth one, see muffins, almost dropped the thing.
After all that buying, after accumulating literal towers of duplicates, I got her. I got Muffins.
The whole day I was afraid I was going to wake up from this wonderful dream. I GOT HER. The last sought-after horse of wave 1! She's with Cheerilee and Daisy Wishes on my shelf now <3
Also, wave 2 has been much kinder to me so far. Thank goodness, because both my wallet and my heart can't take going through what I went through in wave 1 again. Seriously, at one point I grabbed 14 (they were half off... I need to curb my impulse buying, I know), and opened them to find that not a single one was anything I wanted. Not one. Then yesterday I buy 6 and get 4 new ones, one of which is a holy grail. Luck is a strange thing.
Also, I still want that wave 1 Spike and Applejack back. Hit me up if you're trading them.
