Title: Strawberry Swirl hair variant
Post by: Mlp Sunsparkle on June 14, 2019, 02:22:28 PM
Hi everyone! I just wanted to share this variant I found at the car boot sale, I haven’t seen her documented anywhere so I thought I’d post here  ^.^

My original one has straight, more purple hair, while the variant has curly, much more pink hair. The paint is the same and the hair is very *used* feeling so I don’t believe she is faded or curled.

Here are pictures, and feel free to vote in the poll so we can see which version seems more common! Let me know if you have more than one too!

Interesting! I don't have my Core7-pose Strawberry Swirl on hand at the moment, but I'm excited to check her later.

Beachcomber is another G3 known to have two possible shades of pink/purple hair, but I'm pretty sure neither of them are curly like your Strawberry Swirl's. So intriguing!

Edit: Ok, I dug mine out and I'm voting purple. It's a little hard to tell since she's still MIB, but her hair is almost exactly the same shade as her hat and only looks like it has "box curl".

I'm having a hard time thinking of any G3 that has naturally curly dark pink hair... Your new girl is really unusual!

Most of my G3 are in the loft at the moment so I can't check, but I am pretty sure mine has straight hair. The composition of the pink in it though, not sure.

It is possible to permanently curl a G3 - I curled a couple of mine some eight or ten years ago and they're still properly curly - but that doesn't look quite right for owner curling. Just curly hair for a G3 from the box also seems a bit unusual unless it's something like Precious Gem...so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Interesting! I don't have her though, so can't help you with this much.
